	Roll an Eleven: Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

	"Hiya, kid!" Fin called across the canyon, waving energetically to her opponent. She seemed to be only about half Fin's own age. "Hope we have a fun battle!" The trainer unclipped a Pokéball from her belt and grinned as it expanded to full size in her hand. "In the red corner... Ruby!" She pitched the ball out over the canyon, then caught it as it returned after spitting out her big orange-red Gyarados. Ruby swooped down into the canyon, splashing down into the pool before emerging to hover just above it, scattering water droplets. "Let's give 'em a roar, buddy!" "GYARADOS..." Ruby was a ferocious-looking Pokémon with a big voice, but he wasn't particularly fierce by nature. Fin chuckled even as she clapped a hand to her face. She'd landed some very silly Pokémon indeed.

	Lenore waved to the other trainer as Mephistopheles descended to the water. He bowed before the gyarados. "Greetings. My name is Mephistopheles, and I shall be your opponent for this match. Good luck." Electricity crackled along the duskull's arm, unleashing in a burst of energy aimed at the gyarados. 	"Dos!" Ruby was thrown back by the attack, and he shivered as the electricity dispersed. "Ruby. Nice to meet you. Also, ow." "It's gonna be like that, is it?" Fin grumbled. She should've checked to see if Duskull could learn Electric attacks before taking on this match. "Show 'em some Payback, Ruby!" she yelled. Ruby coiled himself tight like a spring, then barreled toward Mephistopheles like a freight train. [Move Used in This Post: Payback] [Moves Used Thus Far: Payback] [HP: 800/1000]

	Mephistopheles was slammed with force into the cliff-side. He phased out of the falling rubble before sending another burst of electricity at the gyarados. 	Ruby writhed out of the way, and the second blast of lightning narrowly missed him. "Yeah, nice dodge, buddy! He's not gonna get you that easily," Fin cheered from above. The Gyarados bunched himself into a sheepish shrug. The Duskull - he seemed to be battling of his own volition, without any input from his trainer - would keep using that one move, Fin was sure. But they could put a damper on that. "Ruby, Torment!" The Gyarados's head swayed from side to side in what might have been interpreted as a mocking manner. 	"Gyar! Dos! Rados!" Ruby found himself choking on a surge of electricity, and he jerked away from the Duskull to do his best to cough and spit the sparks out. "That was nasty!" Fin accused, scowling, from the top of the canyon, addressing Mephistopheles directly. "Get 'im back for that, Ruby! It's Payback time!" The Gyarados spat to the side one last time, then lashed out at the Duskull with his heavy tail.
