The Deus infirmary was more bustling than usual, both Life and Moon medics working briskly together in a surprisingly efficient fashion. Several of those brought in would find themselves shifted to the labs areas. It was possible they just needed more scientific care. It was also possible that they had been tagged as well-enough to be used as convenient guinea pigs. The petite and snarky Sunny and Dr. "McDreamy" Stephen took turns between directing traffic and working on the more invasive procedures in one of the two operating rooms.

Between the labs and the infirmary, several hunters would awake to find Dr. H smiling down at them in brittle satisfaction. They might even stay conscious long enough to notice the blood on his gloved hands, or hear a low murmur.

"It's out. Now to see if they've left us any other little gifts."

"Back to sleep, my dear. Yes, I think morphine would be..."

"Well, this is a familiar face. Looking more and more like furniture every day, aren't you boy?"

"Do you think, perhaps, they have a bit of a grudge against my division?" A nervous response. A soft laugh.

"Oh my, I wonder how well you'll be sleeping at night now, hm?"

Darkness. Pain.

Outside, the infirmary continued it's pace. Blood, tears, recriminations and doubts hung in the air, but hope and healing would sink in as the immediacy of the situation waned, allowing the hunters and trainees to realize that they were home, their comrades were home, and they were alive. What safety the facility offered, it was their once again.

Hospital Drama Time
Poor bugged bastards (by which I mean the captives who were away for days) get H's treatment time, yaaaaaay! They can just solo post or ask H questions that he probably won't answer in a very comforting fashion. They'll be visitable via prps and s**t ok so don't QQ at me because you want a heartfelt, tearful reunion that doesn't involve things trying to kill them. Everyone else if free to ******** around, cry, and angst together in this here thread ok.

Someone snored openmouthedly, embarassingly loud. The sound startled Wash from a restless, drug-induced slumber. He tried to sit up, but found that whatever they'd dosed him with had left him light headed and weak. He lowered his head wearily, only to find that-

His pillow was damp, and his mouth was dry. Oh.

He wondered how many other people he'd accidentally awoken with his log sawing.

For the others, the doctor's visage hovering over them as he worked might have been disconcerting.

For Sasha, it was the most soothing thing she could have asked for. There was no division lead - no division assistant - that she trusted more than she trusted the doctor. It had always been that way for Sasha.

The sweet bliss of drug-induced sleep did not allow for haunting nightmares or endless cycles of death, but the secure clasp of Morpheus' soothing arms could not last forever. Once the soothing tendrils of drugged sleep were gone completely, there was nothing left but harsh, cold reality.

A harsh, dry bout of coughing wracked her as Sasha attempted to sit. She was parched; her tongue felt too thick for her mouth - and everything ached. Everything hurt. Sasha fell back onto the bed, a loud groan rumbling from her chest.

"Can I have some water?"

The question was a hoarse, raspy sound, but it was all that she could manage at the moment.

What was out? Wait... was the bug part real?

Oh... Oh God.

Had it not been for the drugs, Otto would have flipped his lid. Now, on top of an increased fear of the dark, he was adding bugs to the list. Disgusting bugs that wormed their way into his body. It made him feel sick. Luckily, drug induced sleep took over after the unsettling visage of the blood soaked doctor.

Eventually, he awoke again. He was.. where?

"Otto?"

Her voice was a croak.

"Is everyone okay?"

Holy crap! People were in here!

Otto shifted up suddenly, wincing and then leaning back again. His eyes opened once again at his surroundings. It was familiar. It was uncomfortably bright. It was Deus. Another illusion? Or was this for real?

Otto turned to the voice he'd heard, spotting Sasha, and then a few others. Well damn. The prisoners were now... hospitalized prisoners? "More'r less." He grumbled softly. He felt like he'd been drugged though, for one thing. When did that happen? He remembered going through the portal, and whatever chaos happened after was a blur.

Sasha let out a loud breath.

"Wash, too?" A pause. "And Rin?"

Her head ached, and she still really wanted that water - but her own discomfort was discarded in lieu of worrying about the others.

"Yeah," he replied somewhat weakly.

"Parched." A pause.

"Sasha? Are you...I'm, that is...well. I didn't think..." Are you ok was just a stupid question. I'm sorry I got you endlessly tortured didn't quite hit the mark either. Should he even bring it up? Maybe it hadn't been real, after all. He took a deep breath. "I don't know what happened or didn't happen back there- but I'm gladder than I cn'say that you're - here. All right."

A smile, somewhat uncertain around the edges, as he tried to peer at her around the railings of his hospital bed. "I tol' you that man o' yours would come, with all'ov'em. For all 'o you all. They care. No such thing as cannon fodder."

He swallowed dryly, and turned to survey the other side of the room, a quick and almost shy duck of his head. "Hey Otto," he said, changing the subject almost awkwardly. "Good to see ya awake."

Otto gave a soft nod of his head to Wash in return, much too tired to be any sort of brat. He had to wonder what happened to them, Sasha and Wash. They'd been dragged off at separate intervals. Were they taken to the same place? It was hard to discern reality from illusion back at the Horsemen's Lair.

The boy ruffled his hair softly, blinking back the delirium taking over.

The Doctor's face wasn't exactly a comforting hallucination, but then again, none of the illusions had been particularly comforting or comfortable. The absence of pain was curious, though. Jordan would have expected a nightmare that involved Dr. H with bloodied hands and an unsettling smile to be a lot more painful than this.

It's real, Ferros said. We're home.

We are?

We're home, the weapon repeated, and notched up the volume of his soft rumble, almost like a purr. The sound followed Jordan into sleep - quiet, restful sleep, finally.

Sasha glanced at Wash, her thoughts and emotions tumbling over themselves in rapid succession. It was annoyingly disconcerting, more than anything.

"I'm glad.. I'm glad we're all here. Together."

Safe? Sasha wasn't sure. They were never safe. ,She offered Wash a placid smile before swinging her gaze around the room.

The doctor.

She watched him shrewdly for a quiet moment before asking, "Why did they take us?"

The doctor dropped something bloody and twitching into a jar and sealed it tightly. Sasha's question brought his attention back to the patients, whom he regarded with sharp eyes and an almost wistful smile, "Do you really need me to answer that for you, my dear?" The tone was gentle, but held a distinct edge of judgement.

Sasha paled visibly when she caught sight of the twitching... thing... in the jar. She had to fight the urge to vomit. By pure willpower alone she was able to control the bile that rose in her throat, tamping it back down. Anger coiled in her stomach as she watched the twitchy, writhing mass become still.

Only then did she turn her attention back to the doctor.

"I suppose not, sir." Her voice was cool and held the slightest tremble though her tone remained monotonous. "And that? What was it - what is it?"

Sasha was treated to a glint of teeth followed by a reassuring, "It seems you caught a bit of a bug." A choked laugh came from the other corner of the room, and the doctor's head turned away from her to stare at the young man. A clatter and the sound of a swift exit. Moments later, the doctor leaned over the younger woman, smiling pleasantly, "Do tell me if you feel their work still lingering, Sasha. You know how I feel about vermin, hm?"

UGH, the doctors voice again. She was so sure she'd dreamt that and as such would have awoken back in that hellhole again. But she had not. She winced as she tried to shift a bit. It appeared as usual she was a bit on the slow to rise. Everyone is here? Even the doctor. She set her jaw and froze with an idle terror at overhearing the conversation. That wasn't a nightmare?

"Did... did we all have them, sir?" she couldn't resist interrupting the two somewhat as she groggily felt around trying to see if any holes remained in her body.

Her attention turned on Sasha - good; she survived too, "Did... is everyone here? Did we all make it?"
