It was the appointed time agreed between senshi, and Kallichore stood perched on the edge of the building she'd specified in their previous meeting. She sent out a text to the senshi of tigers with the details - time and place. She stood awaiting her arrival. The wind had died down that evening and the air was still warm with summer. Comfortable. Eternal wings shifted with the senshi's movement. Her moon was calling to her.

I'd like to meet you again by the building where we once trained. You don't need to bring anything unless you want to. I'll be waiting.

There was a hum in the air she couldn't describe - something of a magnet pulling her upward. Perhaps her moon was upset that she had neglected it for so long? Kallichore was more overwhelmed to find that the cat's tales of ancient civilizations were true. She collapsed in the middle of the ruins of a house she never thought she'd see. There weren't supposed to be people on other planets. NASA and other space expeditions didn't see them... that sort of thing wasn't taught in school. And what about that woman she kept seeing?

Too many questions, too few answers. Maybe something will be answered tonight.

There were few things that Super Sailor Tsui wanted to do more than go into space, but the moment she got the text from Kallichore, anything else on her mind was simply gone from her mind. She wasn't even transformed at the time, and she was so excited that she had transformed in her own bedroom, with Maddy watching TV downstairs. Whatever she was watching was obviously louder than her transformation, as there wasn't a sound coming from downstairs, and Tsui had given her pet rat an affectionate scratch on his head before opening the window and leaping out into the tree, relying on years of gymnastics and her own enhanced Senshi abilities to grab onto the branch and work her way down.

She was going to Kallichore with Kallichore! Anything else was hardly worth thinking about!

It didn't take her long to make her way up the building through the fire escape ladder, and she even added a little more flare than usual when flipping up onto the roof, having sensed Kallichore's presence and welcoming the feel of her aura compared to the recent darkness that she had been previously seeking out to fight. She was so excited that she forgot that the last time she had seen her friend, she was only a Senshi and not Super, and she stuck her landing perfectly. "Sorry to keep you waiting! You weren't waiting too long, right?"

Kallichore wasn't prepared for the upgrade. There was a stronger signal coming towards her and at first, she mistook it for Pasiphae or someone like that. She almost ignored it until the signal stopped right next to her. And spoke. Kallichore couldn't stop the look of suppressed shock when she turned around and saw, not a senshi, but a Super Senshi of Tigers, complete with fur trim and everything.

"Well well well," she breathed, walking in a slow circle around Tsui to observe every last detail of her outfit. "Would you look at this? The tiger's earned her stripes! I'm very impressed, Tsui. Not that I didn't think you could do it. It was all a matter of when." Kallichore reminisced about the day she ascended from senshi to super. It was like a stepping stone to something greater, but a huge accomplishment in and of itself. Not many made it to super and even less to eternal, but Kallichore had no doubts Tsui would make it that far. And uncorrupted.

"Love the boots. Very you." Super cute too, but I have an image to uphold. "I hope you don't mind accompanying me to my moon? I mean, unless you want to show off your new duds to Destiny City." The eternal chuckled and pulled out her cellphone, ever ready. "I'm hoping we can learn a thing or two, and maybe one day we can visit Tsui. See what life was like back on your... set of stars?"

It took Tsui a moment to realize what Kallichore was talking about, and she felt like such a fool to have to look at HERSELF before it finally dawned on her that between the time of their last visit that she had upgraded. In her own defense, a LOT had happened, and Tsui wasn't too sure if Kallichore wanted to know all of the details. It was a long story, and one that she wasn't completely proud of. So, she pushed the thought aside and chose to focus on her appearance instead.

Now, Tsui was not the type to be vain, but for tonight she made an exception. She rose her foot to show off her boots, probably the favorite part of her upgrade, and she couldn't hold in her pride as she gave a small stomp. "Well, I figured I'd look a little stylish while I kicked the forces of Chaos' butt, right? These boots are sweet looking AND deadly... though maybe not as deadly as my fists."

Her excitement had shifted from her upgrade and right back to their space trip, and she mimicked Kallichore as she pulled out her senshi phone as well, though she had no idea what she was suppose to do with it. "Well, you know more than I do, but you know I'm always willing to learn and do anything! The new school year is about to start, so I'll be spending a lot more time in the library, so I'll have more information about Tsui for the next trip. Though, we may want to bring our flame resistant clothes... walking on a star's surface seems like it'd be a little too hot to handle, even for two badasses like us."

She waited for Kallichore's instructions. She had to remember to do this later, for when she had to make her trip to her own home, as well as bring Sutai on a little trip as well. "So, what's the first step, Kalli?"

"Everything is deadly in capable hands." came a reply and a short laugh. Kallichore remembered when she was out of options and bit Painite to get away. She was a foolhardy base senshi fighting a captain. How she made it out was anyone's guess. Pure, dumb luck was hers. "People underestimate resourcefulness. Sometimes you have to be unconventional to win. Like spitting or clawing. Hardly anyone expects that." The eternal blinked and frowned for a moment before speaking in a hushed tone. "...not that it's particularly sanitary but it gets the job done."

Oh yes, school. She'd enrolled in DCU as a writing undergraduate but really forgot about it. Some other things just seemed more important. You know, like saving the world from bad guys and things like that. If her father and brother knew, they'd understand. Wouldn't they?

She nodded to Tsui and stepped closer to her. "First thing is to tune into the frequency of your celestial body. I think of it like a hum or a song even. Your cellphone is what takes you there. I've never taken a passenger, but a long time ago, Europa explained to me how to do this. I haven't seen her in a while but I think it's our duty to teach everyone we can. I don't know how much we can learn from our past but I firmly believe it's worth a shot." Their moons, stars and constellations were a tool they should utilize more often, or so Kallichore was beginning to think. Nodding firmly, the senshi of madness pressed the center button on her cellphone and the world around the two of them sagged and shifted as they were rocketed into space.

---

The surface of Kallichore was a green as the last time she visited - gentle rolling hills, fragrant grasses and the rise of jagged cliffs in the distance. The whole moon was rather emerald in comparison to its senshi and Kallichore herself never understood why she didn't look like she belonged on her moon. Maybe that was the point. The eternal turned and looked for Tsui to make sure the newly-anointed super senshi arrived safely. Never having brought passengers, she had no idea what to expect. Tsui looked alright. A sigh of relief.

"Welcome, I suppose, to my old home."

They were a midst the ruins of a small village temple made of stone and marble. Some gems were inset in the one pillar left standing. It was almost Grecian in design with a splaying of houses circling the temple like the planets did the sun. Or like Jupiter's moons revolved around her. It was quiet, peaceful and the eternal still mourned for those lost in the calamity. She wondered if she'd see them again. Laughter reached her ears and she ignored it as nerves. The remaining village houses that still partially stood had a wooden wall here or there surrounded by a stone base. The wood was very old and dilapidated. It was a miracle something of it still stood. The temple's marble slab, small staircase and portions of the roof were still intact.

Turning to Tsui, she hazarded a question. "What do you think, Tsui? Are you alright?"

Tsui had been mentally taking notes on the process and hadn't bothered thinking about going back to classes. What did she care for her education or Gwen's future? She was going to one of Jupiter's moons! The boring old Earth and school could wait until the two of them returned...

She thought she was prepared for the transportation, but how could one really prepare for such a thing? Was it ever possible to prepare for anything when one was a Senshi? Tsui didn't think it possible, and it was a rare occasion indeed that the Senshi of Tigers was left speechless.

Moments ago, she was standing on a rooftop, in Destiny City, on Earth, and now, she could hardly describe the beauty that was all around her. Tsui had never seen so much green before, ever, and to think that this was a moon. A moon! She twisted around to get a panoramic view of Kallichore, her mind wanting to focus on so many things but unable to focus on a single one. It wasn't until Kallichore herself had spoke to her that she managed to get her thoughts filtered into words, but even then one could hear the frazzled thoughts that leaked through.

"I'm fine. Fine. Always fine, even better now that I'm here. There's so much green... and the hills, they're bigger than a lot of the buildings at Destiny City." Her gaze had passed over the ruins a few times before but now she was able to focus on them, and she admired the gems that glistened on the pillar. She wasn't usually the type to like jewelry, but there were times where she made an exception. "You have a very beautiful moon, Kalli. How much of it have you explored?"

Kallichore didn't know how proud of her moon she was until someone else was there to admire it. There was something nostaglic and fresh, yet so very ancient about her moon. No giant technological advances. No floating cities, no air cars or space tubes. Not even a single magical bit of crystal or hydroponic vegetable garden. Nothing but the same building blocks the men and women of Earth once used back when their civilization was new - rocks and wood and gems, all provided for by the moon herself. The senshi stood in awe of her own moon for a moment before returning to her visitor.

"Thank you, Tsui." The eternal nearly blushed as red as her fuku at the complement. But it wasn't like Tsui was complementing her - it was the moon they were standing on. "I haven't explored much, I'm afraid. I know there's a body of water that direction," She pointed to the west (or what was believed to be the west) where the spray of sea salt and the cries of long-dead birds would have been. "When I first came, I landed on the beach and traveled east. I found this village and the temple and that's pretty much where I've always ended up every time I came back. I haven't really gone much further than this."

Kallichore pulled stray gray hairs from her face and turned to look down the great gaping corridor of green and hill. "I know there's something back that way. Something big, but I have yet to see it. To be honest, it's odd being here." Brown eyes traced the ground between them, as if counting the blades of grass or scattered stones. Brows furrowed. "I keep seeing this... woman. She looks older and has very long green hair. I've never seen her on Earth. I have no idea why I keep seeing her."

She turned to face the east. "Where would you like to go, Tsui? We could stay here and explore, or continue that way. I'm fairly sure it's pretty green all around. Hardly any trees from what I can see."

Tsui looked in every direction that Kallichore had pointed in, sometimes standing on her tip-toes and her head moving so fast that you'd swear that she had turned into a meerkat during the journey. And even as she was taking in the surroundings, she was hanging onto Kallichore's every word, though perhaps she wasn't absorbing and processing everything like she should have been. She was just too overwhelmed by the surroundings and thrill of the scenery around her that she had to physically force herself to look at the Senshi of Madness and focus only on her.

"Well, if you keep showing up here in your travels, then that must mean that it's important, right? Like, maybe it was the capital, or an important city of trade, back when your moon was in its heyday?" Tsui was no scholar when it came to this kind of stuff; she more or less doodled during history class, assuming she hadn't found a way to sneak out of class entirely, but the few times she did pay attention she tried to utilize. She wasn't sure if she was successful, but it seemed like it was worth a shot.

When Kallichore motioned to the gaping corridor, Tsui turned her attention towards it, and her curiosity was peaked. Kallichore had suspected something important was in that direction, but how would she know? Was it a feeling? A vision? Tsui wondered if she would get the same things when she went to her home constellation, and her attention was brought back to Kallichore when she mentioned the woman in her vision. No, she wasn't familiar to Tsui, and she wasn't going to even pretend. She would offer some insight, however, and she felt more certain about this topic than she had about the village. "If you keep seeing her, then that means she's definitely someone important. We all had a past life once, so maybe she's someone from there, lodged deep in your brain and merely waiting for the right moment to reveal something?"

Tsui had a vision of her own when she had turned Super, but she didn't want to bring it up. It was too frightening, unnerving. The feeling of betrayal had managed to sneak up on her for a brief second before she forced it back, and it was easy to forget her own troubles when Kallichore asked what she wanted to do. "Well, I'd say we go that way. To the east. You think something important's over there, and I'm curious too!"

"I suppose. I guess I needed someone else to tell me what I was thinking all along... so I wouldn't feel so crazy thinking it myself." Brows furrowed again but this time, Kallichore shook herself out of it. Over thinking things wasn't helping them in the slightest. With a nod, the eternal started walking to the east, past abandoned and flattened homes that once housed families. Sometimes she mourned for them. Now was not the time.

The weather was mild, comforting and the wind was lulled at best. The moon seemed almost asleep as they traversed the areas between great green swells of grass and stone. Kallichore had no idea how long they'd been traveling. The road they walked was a slow undulation without any real obstacles to stop them. In the east, a great tower started to rise out of the distance, a light fog obscuring it. "That must be it," mused the eternal. She'd never once laid eyes upon whatever this place was nor did she have a clue as to its importance. "I guess something tells us these things when we visit our homes - like our past is pulling us to important sites. That might be why I keep ending up in that village. It has to have some sort of significance I haven't figured out yet..."

The tower stood on a high hill slightly shorter than the mountains surrounding the valley. The slopes were gentle and the remains of a stone staircase lead up to the entrance. The stones were inlaid with the same sort of jeweled pattern seen on the temple when they first arrived. "I wonder... if this is a temple too?" she asked aloud. "I'd be interested in seeing what your homeworld is like, Tsui. Is it as green? Or is it something else entirely?"

The end of the staircase led to a door, or what would have been a door had the calamity not befallen the moon. The doorway had been something rather large, wide enough for at least five people to stand next to one another and still enter. Kallichore gingerly stepped inside and started to look around. The walls were dim without as many gems as the staircase outside. The tower was made entirely of a grayish stone, somewhat like marble. There was an intricate pattern carved out of the walls to let in light. No torches or other light sources could be seen. Upon the walls were hundreds upon thousands of markings, starting from the very base of the floor, arching up over the ceiling and ending at the base of the floor on the other side.

"...what is all this?"

ChibiGingi
PostPosted: Tue Aug 21, 2012 3:58 pm

"Well, you -are- the Senshi of Madness, Kalli, so it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that your moon was playing with your head." Tsui couldn't help but try to add humor to the situation, though she had a feeling that it was just too flat and not very successful in the long run. And she wasn't sure if Kallichore would have taken it to heart, so she quickly apologized, running to catch up with her as they trekked down the road. "I'm just messing. Look at the bright side, at least your home is trying to tell you something. Mine sort of just sent a vision, then said 'need help figuring it out? Well, screw you!' I think my home is very mean spirited, or simply doesn't have the patience to put up with me..."

The latter of the two seemed more likely. If the home constellation of Tsui was just as impatient as the senshi, then it's likely that her home constellation simply had no time to wait for her to figure things out. As they were drawing closer to the tower, that was when Kallichore had asked her about Tsui, and the Tiger Senshi gave an honest shrug. "Well, I'd like to imagine that it's be a place fit for tigers, and tigers live in a jungle, so I'd imagine there'd be a lot of green there too. Maybe there'll be a population of tigers roaming about? Maybe they'll even speak, like that guardian cats!"

It was a complete shot in the dark, but Tsui couldn't help but allow her imagination to run wild with the idea. The thought of her own homeworld were derailed when the two of them had reached the tower, and the first thing that Tsui did was run up the stairs and stand in front of where the wide door would have been, and she called back to Kallichore. "Well, whatever this place was, it looked like it was meant to keep something really big inside... or keep it out."

She lingered around the doorway for awhile as Kallichore ventured into the tower, taking advantage of the light that the door-less entrance to take in the marble-like walls and the markings on them. She squinted her eyes to try to get a good look at them, but she couldn't make sense of it. She offered a suggestion, as she ran a hand along the wall to get a feel for them. "Maybe they're words written in an old tongue? Maybe a mantra, or commandments... or some kind of prayer?"

She looked up towards the top of the tower and at the writings, and she couldn't help but whistle. "Whatever it is, that's some dedication to start from down here and go ALL the way up there! How many stories you think this is anyway?"

The senshi snorted. "You can joke all you like, Tsui. I don't mind. In fact, I wouldn't put it past my moon to want to ******** with me, since I like ******** with the Negaverse as much as I do."

Kallichore nodded along with Tsui's musings. "That would make sense. If your tigers could speak like our Guardian Cats, sign me up for the next trip. I have a lot I'd like to ask them." It was true - perhaps the cats alive on Tsui could tell them a great deal about the war and the past, about the Calamity that befell all their nations and caused this whole reborn-into-another-war-on-Earth thing to happen. Crimson boots clicked against marblesque stone as the gray haired warrior looked around. The symbols looked so foreign and yet so damned familiar, but she couldn't read a single one.

Could it be huge to keep people out...? Or something in? Tsui could be on to something there. She quietly observed the staircases leading both down and up -- something she didn't expect. Brown eyes followed the spiral cresting above their heads and she whistled. "I'm not sure how tall this place is, but it looks like it goes underground too." She pointed to the staircase that lead down like a cellar. Kallichore wasn't sure if light went down there or if it was black as pitch. Oddly, the thought didn't make her nervous. Walking to the side of the staircase leading up, the eternal tilted her head. "Looks like it's lighter upstairs and the symbols go... damn, they go all the way up these walls."

One day, we'll run out of walls, Sibyl!

Laughter, jovial. Nonsense. We've enough stone to last all of our history. You must have faith.

"....what?"

Kallichore turned to face the corridor she thought she heard the voices coming from. "...alright, I'm hearing things now."

"It definitely be a sight to see. Giant, talking tigers... who knows, maybe one will offer to be my noble stead, grant me a sword and I can become my own He-man!" Tsui allowed her imagination to run wild for the time being, figuring that there was no harm in playing around for now. She wished she could have been a bit more helpful in Kallichore's quest for understanding the past and her moon, so she ventured towards the staircase and peered down into the lower floors when Kallichore had looked up. "Awfully dark down there. I'm going to see if I can throw a rock down there and see how deep this baby goes."

And Tsui did just that, darting her eyes across the ground and scooping up the first rock that she could find and gave it a toss. She fell to her stomach and put an ear out, hoping to hear either it hitting the ground or maybe slashing if there was water down below, but she didn't hear anything in lieu of Kallichore's statement. "Hm? Heard something? Where?"

She looked down the corridor that Kallichore was staring at, and she kept herself perfectly still from where she was laying down, stomach to the pavement and head craning over the side of the stairs. She was so quiet that she even held her breath, but when she heard nothing, she asked, "You think someone still lives in here?"

Kallichore rushed to the place where Tsui had flattened herself out and knelt, listening intently. She could hear... footsteps. Someone was barefoot but someone else was not, and they were speaking in friendly tones to one another. "Please tell me you hear that." the eternal whispered. She couldn't be the only one hearing this, could she? Was she really crazy after all, like her sphere suggested? "Tell me my moon isn't ******** with me. That's not cool. That's... deliciously ironic, but still not cool."

Slowly, like a dream, a conversation could be heard as the two participants walked closer to the top of the stairs where the two senshi waited. Parts of the building became whole again, warm with use and life. Kallichore blinked and stared in awed confusion as a tall, slender woman with long green hair and a simple white dress emerged from the staircase below. Her eyes were orange, her voice soft and matronly. She appeared older or perhaps just weathered.

"It wasn't your fault, Tsui. You did your best and now you can relax for a spell."

The figure behind her spat, crossing her arms. "I can't believe Mao would do such a thing. But what's done is done. She's beaten and now she's taken to whining about it like a sore loser." The second figure emerged from beneath the staircase and looked... shockingly similar to the Tiger Senshi.

Cheerful laughter. "Would you be 'sore' about losing as well?"

"Baihu deserves to be united, but not like this!"

Kallichore blinked. Their strange and shared vision was gone in a heartbeat and everything returned to its previous lifeless shell. No warm flames coming from the walls below, no laughter from the halls above. Nothing. Just a ghost of a castle, just like they'd seen when they first arrived. The Madness Senshi stood up. "Tsui? ....was that you?"

ChibiGingi

Tsui had scooted a bit to give Kallichore room, and before she could even think to confirm that rising fear that she thought she heard, her ears had caught the sound of approaching footsteps and voices. She quickly whispered to her friend, peering down the stairs and swearing that she could see an approaching light, starting from the bottom and drawing closer and closer. "No... it's not. Not unless it's decided to start messing with me too."

Because now SHE was hearing the voices, and her interests were peaked when she could see the figures emerging, taking the light with them, and Tsui looked to the first woman, the one that had worn a simple but beautiful white dress and long green hair flowing behind her. She vaguely recalled Kallichore mentioning seeing such a woman in her visions before had had assumed that this was the one, but her thoughts were immediately derailed when she had said... her name?

That caused her gaze to shoot to the one that was following after her, the one whose boots tapped against the stairs heavily and whose voice was very, very familiar. Tsui couldn't believe her eyes, and yet, there she was. But, how could that be when she was right here?

Her words struck a chord within Tsui of now, the name Mao sounding like a crack of thunder in her head and causing white, hot anger to bubble within her chest the moment it was dropped by the apparition. Mao? Twice she had heard that name, and both times she wanted to scream in raw anger in its wake, but she held herself still, almost placing a hand over mouth to stop herself from saying anything, in fear of either chasing away the sudden apparitions or, worse, turning their attention to her.

Baihu? Tsui had read about it briefly in the library but had never looked any further into it. It was the White Tiger constellations, wasn't it? Why would this apparition of what she suspected was her past self mention it like that? As though it was never united...

Her mind was racing and before she knew it, the vision had ended, and Tsui just continued to stare at the spot where they had disappeared. Even when Kallichore stood up and asked her, she wasn't sure what to think, what to say. She answered, but there was no certainty in her normally boisterous voice. Only confusion. "It... looked like me. Clothing was a little different, but she hate the white fur and stripes... the markings of the Tiger. But... she said Tsui, so... so it HAD to have been me. I... I've been here before?"

The eternal senshi blinked and stared stupidly at her White Moon companion. "I... believe you may have been here before. But... how?" Kallichore stepped back and watched the floor, half-wondering if the vision would play again or if some other part of it would emerge before their shared eyes. When nothing happened for a few silent moments, she frowned.

"They were coming out of someplace beneath us..." With a grunt, the senshi swooped down to the lower level, halfway up the stairs. Brown eyes peered down the darkened corridor. "Very little light, but... the walls down here have the carvings too. I smell water. I don't think this is too long or deep but... hell, what do I know?" she said with a short laugh. She waited to see what Tsui would think about all this and whether or not her super counterpart would think this would be a good idea. Was something important down here? It was hard to tell with so little light. Scorch marks on the wall indicated the corridor used to be lit by something that gave off heat. Likely torches since no other crazy technology was present.

Unless, again, the moon was messing with them and hid all the technology when it realized it was going to have visitors. Kallichore sniffed.

She wouldn't put it past her moon.

"Tsui? What is Baihu?"
