General Painite had been having more fun than normal, which was always a good thing. She had strength and skill and she was confident in all of that. That was what made her dangerous sometimes, and very easy defeat other times.

She was a bit over confident sometimes. To say the least.

It was a good way to get undone by the good guys, almost every time. Foiled by her own hubris. But she did not remember that one, very important lesson. That was fine. She'd keep at it, regardless. She loved it and she would get so good that the hubris thing would just no longer be a problem.

The General had a reputation. She had people that feared her. It fueled her and she hunted every night to add to that list. Maybe get a few more White Moon starseeds for her collection. She would never stop.

Tonight she was walking down the street, spear resting on her shoulder. It was very late and there was no one around. She wasn't scared of anyone seeing her, and if they did that would just make them a target. She was humming to herself as she walked, letting her senses do the searching for her. She was here for a Senshi or a Knight.

General Painite was not the only victim of the disease of 'overconfident syndrome', though perhaps she was the one that had earned the right to flaunt it about. Super Sailor Tsui, on the other hand, now that she had finally earned her stripes, figuratively and literally, had felt pretty darn good about herself, especially compared to a few weeks ago. To think, the ambush that had once left her bedridden from not only her wounds but a damaged pride had only served to make her stronger, and now with her new influx of power from reaching Super rank, Super Sailot Tsui, Senshi of Tigers, felt that she was ready to take on the entire world.

Perhaps not literally, but she definitely felt like she was able to handle herself in a fight once more. Why, she was even venturing further than she usually did and actively seeking out those with Chaos aura. Whether it be youma, lieutenants, or even Dark Mirror Senshi, Tsui was eager for a fight.

So it was no surprise when the two opposing forces had eventually met. And, always being the type to leap before she looked, Tsui had felt her chest swell with pride and puffed her chest out, displaying nothing but confidence and some old fashion toughness to the incredibly strong Negaverse general that stood about twenty feet away from her. The words came out of her mouth, long before she noticed the spear that was slung over her shoulders, though one with a keen enough perspective could hear the slightest hint of hesitation in her voice. "Nice to see I'm not the only one who enjoys an evening... stroll, nowadays. I find most Negaverse officers tend to avoid the summer heat; something about their uniforms collecting sweat and all."

Her mind recalled a vague memory, one from the meeting, before the Negaverse and DMC had attacked. Something that Valhalla told her, about someone with a spear... but curse Tsui's memory! Remembering only the battle and not the entire meeting before hand!

"Ah, a cute little kitty to play with. It's lovely to see you as well, this fine evening. I'm afraid I don't notice the heat."

That wasn't true. Painite hated the heat, and she blamed it on her english blood. She was built for the cold, and no matter how long she lived here, she would never get used to the hot summers and the miserable way the air bore down on someone. The way everything stuck and squished and made terrible noises whenever she moved.

No, the summer was awful and she hated it.

But she wasn't going to agree with a senshi.

She grinned, holding herself tall and proud, watching her new enemy with a keen, but eager, eye. She was going to rip this little girl to shreds, and make her eat her own star seed. It was dream Painite had, and any opportunity was a good one to try for it.

"I can only imagine you're here to make my night better," she hummed, spinning her spear around and shifting her position a bit. "So let's have a bit of fun, eh? If you're a good girl, I'll give you a two minute head start."

Tsui scoffed, keeping up her usual aura of confidence even as her mind raced to try and remember what Valhalla had told her during the meeting. Even if there was the slightest bit of fear within her, Tsui would never, ever let it be seen (if she could help it), and she had managed to hold her own against Benitoite, who also had a spear as well, during the ambush. (Though his bite still ached periodically from her more recent encounter). Yes, Tsui shared one thing in common with the Negaverse general that stood before her, and it was not just their overconfident mentalities.

It was the thrill for battle, though Tsui's was more or less the fight itself and not the notion of causing pain. Tsui had no idea whom she was about to fight, and the two minute warning did not sink in like it should have done. Super Sailor Tsui cracked her knuckles, knowing that she would have a tough fight ahead but just unaware of how tough.

"Two minutes? That's awfully generous of you, lady. You got a name? You see, I like to keep track of all the Negaverse officers I take on, just so that I can boast to my friends, and enemies, later."

That was Tsui's warning that she was going to strike. She's allow her to introduce herself, and right after her name left her lips, she'd welcome her fist to that face of hers. That would be Tsui's new introduction...

Painite grinned wickedly, bright eyes flickering with cruel intention and a very real malice despite their light color and the smile she had been wearing just moments before.

"I do love little girls with so much confidence. It makes it so much more fun to see you cry. Are you ready to have your fangs pulled out, kitty cat?"

Literally or figuratively, it would make the senshi regret picking a fight either way.

It seemed that Painite's generosity was going to go unused, but that didn't bother the Negaverse General: she had offered, at least, whether she'd really meant it or not. She probably would have gotten bored a few seconds in and teleported, but it still counted that she'd -offered-.

"The name is General Painite," she said, and then she was moving.

Her spear was her ally, an extension of her very arm. She treated it like a companion, even naming it. It had been Mister Saddles in its first stage, as a hobby horse toy, and even its rank had evolved from there. The Spirit of Mister Saddles became, at last, the spear she had in hand. Lance Corporal Saddles. She treasured her weapon, and treated it as a friend.

A friend that liked to stab other people, and didn't mind being covered in their blood.

She lashed out with it, keeping the distance between them and getting close enough only to swing the sharp blade at Tsui's midsection.

Tsui spat, not once slowing down in her approach when the Negaverse general threatened to make her cry. Tsui hardly ever cried... well, except that one time on the moon, but considering everything she had witnessed and experienced during the meeting and the ambush that followed, Tsui felt that it was well within her right to shed a few tears. However, she DID stop her approach when the general had introduced herself, and that was what probably saved her from being impaled immediately when that spear was thrusted forward.

General Painite, the crazy Negaverse general with the spear, the one that Valhalla warned her to avoid. At all costs. And here she was, picking a fight with an obviously crazy and bloodthirsty general...

If one was keen enough, they would have been able to look into her wide golden eyes and read all the many layers of genuine regret that she felt deep within her soul, but that pride of hers wouldn't allow her to admit it openly. She had stopped in her charge and just barely dodged that spear's blade, and she knew that she had a choice at that point. Keep in the direction she was going and trying to get a blow in, or find a way to vacate the battlefield all together, despite the cowardice that it would bring to her name.

Perhaps a mixture of both? She spotted a dark ally and made her decision, darting towards it and yelling back at the general. "Well, gotta catch me first!"

The ally had walls all around, making swinging that spear of hers troublesome if they were narrow enough, and if Tsui could just dodge the forward thrusts and draw her into a close quarters combat, then perhaps she'd stand a chance of at least stunning her with her attack and retreating. She knew she probably couldn't take on someone as crazy as Painite, but dammit, she'd at least get a hit in!

Painite would be glad she couldn't hear thoughts, as she did not consider herself crazy and would not take too kindly to being called it. Or at least, she would pretend not to take it too kindly. Really, stuff like that was water off her back and she hardly cared about name calling and mud slinging. It was the reputation she wanted. The knowledge that people knew her name, and feared it.

Striking terror in the heart of her foes was what she was all about.

"Nice reaction times, kitten," she cooed softly, smiling. She liked kittens, actually, so it wasn't as insulting a nickname as she generally derived. She had a kitten that was given to her by a friend, and its name was Adorable. Of course, she made sure it never saw her powered up and killing people.

Her attention was drawn from her thoughts as she saw the senshi darting off toward an alley. She frowned, shifting her weight to one leg and placing her hand on her hip. She had her spear in the other hand, dangling toward the ground as she canted her head to the side and arched an eyebrow.

"Running toward a dark and confined space?" Painite teleported, reappearing after winking out of existence for only half a second to stand in the middle of the ally and wait for Tsui to reach her. When she did, Painite tilted her head at her.

"Is this what they teach you at Survival Camp?" The etchings on her spear glowed a dark purple in the ill lit alley. The General didn't seem too concerned about the space or the limitations of her range of movement, focused instead on the senshi and her escape attempt.

She grinned.

"Time to get serious, I think." She gripped her spear with both hands, holding it in front of her like a javelin or a battering ram, and then ran at the senshi. Painite was all for being subtle, but some times big shows were best.

In hindsight, it was a terrible move. The only way it could have been worse was if Tsui had ripped open her own chest, ribcage and all, and just pointed to her exposed heart for Painite to stab, and Tsui had realized this a little too late. Much like with general Benitoite, she had completely forgotten that they could teleport from one position to the other, so when Painite appeared before her, spear at the ready, she felt that she had earned what she got.

And what did she get? A nice spear blade slicing into her side, cutting through her newly earned bodice and grazing her side, digging deep enough to cause blood to spurt out. Tsui was a strong Senshi, or at least she thought she was, and she thought Benitoite's spear would have been the worst sensation to ever hit her, but then she had met Painite and was proven wrong. Horribly wrong.

Thanks to the wound, Tsui tumbled down at Painite's feet, bringing an arm up and trying to cover the wound before she could bleed out. This Painite meant serious business! Tsui gave a pained grunt, followed by a laugh, though it wasn't filled with mirth, but perhaps desperation. "Figures I survive an encounter with the most powerful Chaos force I've ever felt, but it's this crazy b***h that'll do me in. Fate's a b***h..."

The normally battle-hungry Tsui was beginning to consider a new tactic, one that she felt no shame in admitting to herself right now. Retreat.

"Your fukus always look so much better with a little blood on them! Or a lot." She grinned and reveled in the hit, watching the blood spreading over the pristine white of her obnoxiously self righteous fuku. Everything about senshi screamed 'I'm a Good Guy', as if they thought themselves to be the guardian angels of this planet. They had no idea how ridiculous they were, and Painite was just the lady to teach them differently.

They had to see that they were pointless. They were helpless. They were nothing compared to her, and even less compared to the might of the Negaverse and the Chaos that fueled it.

"You have no idea what power is, little girl. Maybe you'll start to learn, in the short time you have left. Every time my spear flashes before your eyes, every ounce of blood you lose to me, every shudder of fear you feel as you realize these are the last moments of your pathetic, pointless life. That's my power."

Fate and Painite had something in common, if Tsui's words were true.

But, to her fault, Painite got caught up in the thrill of victory far too easily. She enjoyed taunting and teasing, and even the ever fatal flaw of monologuing. She subscribed to all the weaknesses of the villains she saw in the movies and shows she loved, yet awareness of the flaw did not help her battle it. Her ego blinded her, as did her blood lust and her never satisfied need for success.

Still, she was pretty tough and she came SO CLOSE to winning so often, and had enough starseeds in her collection for her win count, that the losses were often shoved to the back of her mind. At least in the heat of the moment.

Suddenly, Valhalla's warning had never made so much sense to her until this very moment, and Tsui kept her arm over her bleeding wound as she glanced around for a possible escape route, all the while keeping Painite in her line of sights. She had a small window to escape this crazy, bloodthirsty ladies wrath, and all Tsui needed was an opportunity to present itself. Perhaps while she was rambling about power and showing off just how crazy she was would have been a perfect opportunity for Tsui to find a tactical advantage, or retreat.

And sure enough, it seemed that lady luck had managed to smile upon her, as the stab-happy Negaverse general seemed to be more focused on her little tirade than on getting the job done, and though Tsui knew that the move would be risky, she had to take a chance. Even if she had missed, she'd launch herself past her and give herself a running head start (though it'd be all for nothing considering Painite could simply teleport, but Tsui wasn't going to say she didn't at least TRY). As Painite's little speech was coming to a close, Tsui quickly summoned her white aura into her arms and wrists, and she never shouted those words so fast in her life. "Striking Tiger Flurry*!"

Best case scenario, she'd stun Painite, long enough to make her escape. Worst case scenario, she'd skewer herself on that spear of hers, or her attacked simply have no effect at all. For better or for worse, Tsui had to try something...

--------------------------

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Striking Tiger Flurry.
SailorTsui’s Tiger Fist Strike’s power is enhanced significantly, as not only is her blow knocks the enemy back, but it also stuns them if she is able to make it connect, leaving them open for attack. This attack still requires her to be in close range combat, much like the first attack, but she puts more ‘umph’ behind her blows to physically stun the enemy, in hopes of preventing an immediate retaliation. Her time spent honing her powers has allowed her to aim at particular body parts, giving her the time to aim for an arm or leg to strike to immobilize that part of their body for 5 seconds, though at the cost of her having a more likely chance to miss. If she connects, she can knock the enemy back with a chance to stun.

*Knocks enemies back 4 feet
*Chance to physically stun enemy for 5 seconds
*Can attack twice turns per battle

"Striking what now?"

Painite snapped out of her thoughts and looked down at the senshi of tigers and realized her mistake a little too late. Damn her insatiable need to show boat and cause a scene! She loved the attention and loved the feeling of triumph, and her need to revel in it always cost her that damn sensation anyway.

She was knocked back by the hit, stumbling when the magic took effect. She was surprised by the force of the blow and gave Tsui the space she needed to at last get herself out of the serious danger zone she had been in.

"Damn you, Kitty!" There were worse nicknames she could have given the senshi, certainly, but she was a little distracted. And when she was recovered enough, she would make sure Tsui regretted using her stupid magic on the Negaverse warrior.

Painite hated senshi magic. Mostly because it usually got the better of her, and she felt that was cheating. Like dangerous weapons were a lot more fair.

Had Super Sailor Tsui known nothing about her opponent from Valhalla and others, had she not had a gaping wound on her side and was threatening to bleed out and die, she would have taken the time to perfect her landing, perhaps give a taunt and even try to go in for another hit. But given that she was bleeding and almost uncharacteristically terrified by this renown Negaverse general, Tsui had rushed to get back to her feet and in turn had slammed her wrist against the concrete. It was painful but Tsui took no time to access the damage or even so much as grunt, as the first thing that came to her mind after realizing that her attack had connected was that she needed to get the hell out of there. And soon, because she had NO idea how long she'd be stunned!

Zinkenite had managed to shrug it off, and Tsui wasn't going to stick around long enough to see if this Painite was capable of shrugging off such an attack as well. She swallowed her pride and darted back into the streets, looking this away and that for a quick escape and not caring how much of a coward it would be made her look in the eyes of her enemies or even her allies once they found out about this. "Better to be alive to heal my damaged pride than to go down like a damned idiot... even if it would be a glorious death."

Tsui chose to run towards the north end of the street, seeing a small crowd and figuring it would have been easier to make her escape by blending in with them. Perhaps one of them would even try to get her to the hospital, though Tsui couldn't imagine the shitstorm she'd go through once Maddy found out about this. Still, she wanted to survive this ordeal, and the best way to do so was to bite the bullet and just deal with the consequences afterwards. She had managed to get behind a trashcan and after a quick glance over, she powered down into her civilian form and rushed into the crowd, trying her best not to bump into them or make a scene. No, Gwendolyn Caspian didn't want to draw others into the crossfire, and if Painite cared for the civilians like Benitoite and other Negaverse officers had, then Painite wouldn't dare strike against them.

Then again, Painite had already proven to be far more different than the others she had met, so she walked quickly and with purpose, all the more to get as FAR away from that crazy general as possible. 'Next time... I'll snap that damn spear of yours...'

For now, Gwen was just happy to be alive... a victory in itself, given Painite's reputation.

Painite was stunned and she could not move against the magic for a short moment. It was enough for her to lose track of her prey. By the time she could give chase, teleporting was useless. She'd lost track of where the girl had run, and had to follow the energy signature to pursue.

And then it vanished.

"I'll get you yet!" she yelled into the night, not caring that the crowd would hear her echoing voice just as easily as anything else. She wasn't talking to any of them, and they wouldn't know where the yelling was coming from. There was only one person she wanted to hear and understand her threats, and she could only hope she was somewhere near enough.

"Don't think you can ever be safe, kitten!"

Growling, angry at her defeat but still feeling pretty good about the battle on the whole, she teleported away from the scene before anyone could come and find her. If anyone was stupid enough to go looking from someone yelling in rage.

It had been a good fight, and she'd made a serious impression, but it was not enough. Toying with Senshi was terribly fun, but she wanted completion. She wanted to kill them, every one of them, and letting this one escape was just not acceptable anymore.

It looked like Painite would have to go tiger hunting.
