After you have lit your memorial candle and said a few prayers, you step into the main festival grounds. The first thing you notice is that the festival is located close to the beach on the shores of Isle de Gambino. The sound of the waves crashing along the shore almost has a relaxing feel to it. Except for the beach, the festival area is grassy and covered with hanging paper lanterns, picnic tables, vendor booth's selling their wares, a food cart, and a tiki torches filled with oil to keep the bugs from biting festival goers. There are also pet stand vendors selling treats for dogs, catnip and other treats for cats, and plenty of other stuff for pets. So sit down, relax, grab a bite to eat, and make some new friends. No one knows when the dead will arrive...

Hannah ran around the festival grounds - well, at best she could in zori - placing the final touches. The lanterns were thankfully battery-powered, so all she needed to do was find the switch in the lanterns to light them up.
The Off Fuel for the Tiki Lanterns had already been lit. Hopefully the bugs wouldn't be bad this year.
The picnic tables had stacks of paper plates and plastic silverware. Yeah, it was cheap, and probably not her best dinnerware, but she just couldn't bring herself to use her mother's heirloom dishware. Practicality won over fancy dishware.
With the setting of the sun, the festival grounds were ready. Now, she had to go and welcome the guests -

Hannah noticed her first guest! "Hey! Come on in! The evening doesn't have too many bugs, so you should be comfortable."

Kraft had not ever had need to attend such a thing, she thought it so morbid and droll. ... A friend had suggested this as a form of grieving...but it seemed she was alone tonight. She hoped silently her father was watching.
Kraft munched on dango as she wandered aimlessly toward the beach.

((Hey, I'm going to change into my Ball costume now, as it's coming to a close so I'm going to participate. I mean no disrespect to your event at all.))

A soft sigh could be heard as a graceful figure emerged out of the misty night. Her aura seemed somber as she approached the main grassy area. As wistful as a ghost, she spoke in a quiet voice, "What a lovely evening to welcome back the dead.."

Ebony quietly made her way onto the grounds, grateful that she had switched her pinchy, colorful sandals for her comfortable, reliable straw ones. She munched on her dango, careful as not to spill onto her brand new orchid kimono, as she looked around at the other attendees as they went about their business.

The grass muffled the clack of Chai's okobo as she made her way to one of the picnic tables. She had skipped a few meals due to a rather busy day, and was starving. She had just purchased some fresh-made, piping-hot takoyaki. She popped one of the balls of breaded and fried octopus into her mouth. The heat burned her tongue; she immediately opend her mouth to somewhat discretely spit the hot food into a napkin. She tripped on an uneven depression in the grassy ground. She caught herself before she fell flat on her face, but her takoyaki and napkin went flying through the air, nearly hitting someone.

Squealed Serene, neatly dodging a flying missile of napkin and breaded octopus. Grinning she noted where it had landed and shuffled over, bent to the ground and popped the half-chewed morsel into her mouth. "Ten second rule!"

Sheard adjusted is tie as he arrived wearing his school uniform. He may not be as fancy as some of the other guests, but at least he would be dressed respectfully towards the spirits when they decide to show up.

Hizaki sat at the edge of one of the picnic tables, happily munching and slurping her bowl of noodles. She was trying to be very carefl and not get any on her kimono- which, honestly, wasn't hers. She had borrowed it from a friend, because she could not afford a kimono on her own. Her friend had generously lent it to her, and Hizaki was determined to take very good care of it.

Chai winced as the girl squealed, thinking the girl was going to be hit with the flying takoyaki. Her eyes widened a little, surprised, then she laughed as the girl ate it. "I thought it was three second rule?" She called out.
