Belial was happy. He was going to be a father. Belial was worried. He was going to be a father. They were likely normal feelings for most fathers to be especially when having to be away from his mate to provide for the coming family. But these would be Bel and Ren's first children. His concern was also complicated by the other that lived within his darling mate. From the look of her growing belly, they were going to need some help and soon. There were going to be lots of mouths to feed and he was very frightened of the idea of leaving his often fragile mate alone.
And so he hunted not only looking for food but hoping for signs that an old friend had found one of the messages he'd left for her to join them.

Isoke smiled as she neared the familiar territory she had once frequented with her good friend Belial. It had been a long time now since she'd backed away leaving the area to the demon-tailed male and his tri-tailed mate. She'd visiting from time to time but mostly felt it was best to allow the couple to settle in to their life together. She still remembered the day Bel had told her about rescuing the sweet little kit at the spring and then finally meeting Rennoa and some of her family at the beach.
Lost in memories Isoke almost didnt' recognize the pattern of scratches on a nearby tree. She blinked thinking it was those memories making her see a pattern, but it was really there. Though normally she'd have skirted the territory those marks told her Bel was looking for her and she moved forward swiftly full of concern and curiosity.

Belial sat recovering from the run that had brought down a plump rabbit to bring home. While he caught his breath he groomed his paws and face his ears swiveling to catch the sound of anything that might try to poach his kill. It was quiet just the normal sounds of a normal day. There weren't that many other predators around, but occassionally one would pass by. He was just about ready to to face dragging the rabbit home when some distant rustling was followed by a bird's alarm call.
The demon-tailed ulaya bristled and stood ready to defend.

Isoke moved cautious as always of her antlers but also from the smell of blood. It was likely the result of a successful hunt and although it was her brother's territory there was no guarantee it was his hunting. As carefully as she moved it was inevitable that she lifted her head a slight bit too quickly rustling the brush she was moving through. She grumbled in annoyance as an alarm call sounded above her.
The sound of a growl carried to her and she smiled at the familiar sound. Ignoring the birds and the warning in the growl she trotted forward out of the brush. "Hey there, no need for that now is there?" she said smiling as their eyes met.

Belial sighed with relief at the sight of the reindeer ulaya. "Isoke! I'm so happy to see you." He moved to nuzzle her in fond welcome. "Its been so long. I didn't think you'd pass this way in time to notice my message." There was so much he wanted to say, so much to tell her but for now he was content to take in the familiar scent of the friend that had been his only family until he'd met Rennoa.
"I'm happy to see you too," Isoke purred, nuzzling him in return. "In time for what? What's going on?" she said her tone showing her concern. "Those markings looked kinda urgent and I noticed more along my way."
Belial avoided the question for a moment as he went to collect the rabbit. "Help me get this over my back and I'll tell you along the way."
A little annoyed with the delay, Isoke helped and soon they were on their way. She trotted beside him in silence waiting for him to speak.
"I'm sorry to worry you, Isoke. I was just getting concerned and I ... we... Ren and I... could really use some help," he began finally. "You see, sis... I'm going to be a father, Ren's pregnant, very pregnant."
"Oh my... That's wonderful!! Congratulations. You both must be thrilled. What can I...." she looked at the very large rabbit then laughed. "Ah I see you could probably use an extra pair of paws around the place. I'd be glad to help so long as Ren doesn't mind."
Belial nodded the relief in his eyes almost comical. "You're family, I'm sure she'll be happy to have you." By this time they'd reached the pile of rocks that both hid and created Belial and Rennoa's home. "Let me bring this in and let her know you're here."
"Sure thing, I could use a drink anyway." Isoke grinned and moved to the stream for that drink.

Belial climbed up carefully to the upper entrance. He'd finally finished digging the lower exit, but that was mostly for emergency usage. Though she had probably already been alerted by the sounds of claws on stone Belial slowly peaked in the entrance and called down to her. "Rennoa love I'm home and I have dinner and a surprise for you!"

 The time was passing since the first time she knew she was pregnant. That first glimmer of chance, it was so long ago. Now her body was 'full' and swollen to the point where her hind legs got inflamed and could only but wobble around now. It reminded her of her brother. In fact, everything had reminded her of her brother as of recent. But before being pregnnant it had been so long since she saw him that little by little her world when only the two of them existed started to melt away...
Her heart grew further from his, in to the world where Belial made. But it was around the same time she had met up with her brother one last time to say their goodbyes. It ended with elaborated heartstrings attaching themselves again, but never will she drown again in them. Like a drug the addiction was a lot greater, but Belial made sure she wouldn't fall without being caught.. She closed her eyes. She didn't question what she had down up til now, and the fact that genes would come through both...
Even if her addiction was calmed, the thought of bringing children in to the land would still greatly pain her. But with doubt came some sort of excitement. She had been so indulged with her depression until she got the news and it felt like everything had somehow lifted from her shoulders. With all her sins now as scars, even with that.. would they love her?
They would look to her for guidance. They needed her... She couldn't worry about the past anymore. This future was so much the present in her mind, that even though sometimes her worries would creep up on her, she would still find salvation when the thought of her children came in to mind. But it wasn't so easy, times were hard. Her health would be so unstable, and her dreams would be so vivid. Times where she tried to contain herself.. but funny how the demon had not come out during her whole time of being pregnant. Though she was sure it would... and be scared of its outcome.
Her ears perked at the sound of her mate's voice, she tried to get up- and when she did.. It took a great amount of work to do so..
"Belial.... welcome home.." Her eyes had become swollen, and dark as well. As if the children were draining the very life from her but still she had a beautifully serene glow to her. Something that her children DID give her. "A surprise?" When she finally arrived in front of him to greet him, and softly rubbed her face along his cheek. She hated being without him now. He was her crutch.. "Food is surprise enough for me...... with all weather conditions that had been happening.." Softly smiling for him.. "Equally I am grateful for anything you have given me.. but far more just with you returning home.."

Belial scrambled down and put the rabbit down quickly so he could support her. His purr was loud in the enclosed space. She was his life and his devotion to her was complete. He tried not to worry too much about how much the lives within her were taking.
"Come now love why don't you settle down and get some food in you?" he suggested with a smile. He couldn't quite hide the concern in his eyes. "Yes a surprise. A wonderful one," he replied. He was going to wait but decided forwarning of another entering their home would be a better idea. "Isoke finally came by. She's just outside waiting for me to let her know she can come in."

"I am fine Belial..." A slight matured whine to her voice with a smile added. Nosing her neck. All three of her tails dragging on the floor. Since the pregnancy they tended to not be very active- more like a hindrance of weight thus far. "... I am not so hungry..I will eat in due time.." Bowing her head softly once more, and her head lifted, and ears forward at the notion of another near. Was it,... it could be a number of ulayas. How his parents faired in the harsh weather. It was a scary thought... when the land shook and the mountains roared.. Trees that she could hear breaking. So many things had happened..
[ Basically the shop meta plot, on why the packs separated because of the lands seemingly like they would destroy themselves etc etc cause of severe weather ]
But now he was more successful at bringing game.. did that mean the world outside was safe again? "..Isoke.." She remembered her, the meeting and how nice she was- but how close she was to Belial and her face mimicked uncomfortable but quickly changed to a nod. "I am very happy that she faired well, please... invite her in.." She weakly smiled, and slowly moved towards the entrance to greet the reindow. Even doubts could corrupt the mind and heart but for the moment, she brushed them aside as if they didn't exist..

Belial frowned slightly worried that she wasn't eating. He'd make sure she had some later even if he had to tear it into smaller pieces and feed it to her. "Yep, I'm glad, too. It seems she's faired well in spite of everything. I'll go up and let her know its ok to come in." He leapt up quickly and called down. "Isoke, sis! Come in and be welcome."
While Belial had been presenting his lady with her meal and preparing her for their guest, that guest had been having a drink from the stream that still bubbled through. It was if this place was in its on protected pocket. Perhaps whatever had brought the punishing elements forth had sensed the new lives here and kept them safer here, or the two were just lucky. She'd finished her drink and started slowly to make the climb to the entrance when Bel finally called her to join them. His voice was cheerful and yet she could hear a slight strain beneath the happy surface.
With that as warning she entered with her own tone full of happy excitment. "Hello, thank you. I look forward to seeing what you'd managed to do with the place. I remember it needed some work to make it just right," she said as she looked around slowly making her way down.
"Oh Ren, its so good to see you. Bel told me you're expecting. Its so exciting! Anything I can do to help you, it'll be my pleasure," the words spilled out of her in a rush of genuine happiness and with a touch of concerned as she got a good look at her brother's mate.
Her eyes widened with her concern. There was little left of the kit she had known and she could see why Belial's scratches had the sense of urgency. Still there was that glow of the lives that grew within her, the lives that seemed to be pulling so much from her. "Yes, anything at all. I could free Bel up from some of his hunting duties or help him to bring in something larger. The spring keeps that one corner cool enough that we can keep a contstant supply of meat in here." She was babbling now but she meant every word....

Ren was serene, and although she was happy to see the other had fair w ell, her doubts were shunned but were still there. Now that she was older, weaker, she lifted her steps enough to push on to greet the female. When she finally saw her, the joy she had brought upon the home that was filled with suffocation and gloom, but still she smiled. For an instance, she remembered... what a genuine smile was.. and finally after a long time smiled. It seemed weak, but at least warming none the less.
"Welcome home."
As if sharing the home, although, if it were anyone else- she would surely chase them out. Sharing was not her strong suit but likewise she offer, if not for bel then her own sanity. "Yes, expecting.." A soft chuckle, maybe even a fake one. "He just found out not too long ago neither. We share your surprise." Looking to Bel and softly rubbed her face against his cheek. "I don't eat much, its ok. Although, it'd be nice to have a familiar face around. I too, wonder how my family has faired. Or- how the world outside is now that the earth has calmed.. Would I be so much a bothersome to be informed of the outside?" Looking at Belial, trying to seem as friendly as possible but she was holding the girl an arm's length, but her speech and tone although she tried to over come it.
She wanted to be happy- but it was hard as of late.
"They are kicking..." When in truth, she couldn't feel them moving anymore. Her stomach even so, had swelled but she couldn't feel them move.. Were.. they dead in there? All these things, she would keep to herself and she took a step back and lowered her head. "Forgive me, I must lay down.." Then simply retreated back in to furthest of the den..
