It had been a couple days since the two white lions met, and now they were travelling together in search of a pride. Eos wasn’t worried that they wouldn’t find one, surely they would, however when was the problem. Currently he felt a bit of a burden on Auriaya, being that he was near useless in a hunt. He didn’t blame his brother, but simply wished that situation had never come about. Silently he lay in the grass, ears swiveling back and forth as he caught any sound he could. The idea had already come to his mind, training his ears and nose to make up for his lack of sight, but how easy such a feat would be was not known to him. Was it even possible? Eos had never heard of a blind hunter, but surely it was not impossible.

Auriaya would not deny that she was slightly grumpy from having to not only guide the larger male but also feed him and herself to the best of her abilities. Despite these feelings that she kept to herself through this time, she still appeared outwardly cheerful. At the time though she stood a distance away from Eos, one of her ears back as she watched the other white lion lay in the grass, his ears swiveling away. What in the world was he doing? Was he trying to keep flies off of his ears or what? She was just about to call to him when she realized his goal. Was he listening for prey? Traveling by herself was not bad as Eonar was used to it in her old age. In fact, she almost preferred it to traveling in a group. It was just quieter and easier to keep away from possible danger then having to make sure everyone stayed quiet and got away. So thus Eonar had been alone for weeks on end, enjoying the solitude. A gentle smile spread over the bronze pelted lioness as the sun beat down on her pelt while she moved gracefully though the grass that surrounded her. Though her paws we already weary, she kept moving for the time being. Soon enough though, rest would be in order.

All sorts of sounds were around them, but Eos was not satisfied. They all seemed too close, just things he could have heard normally. He may not have noticed them as easily, relying more on his eyes as he did before, but it still felt like it just wasn’t enough. The male closed his eyes, blocking out further light that his eyes could make out so that he could focus more closely on what he heard. It had to work. Eos wasn’t going to become some useless lump that would just lie about and wait for his next meal.
It seemed to work, maybe a little at least. A small sigh escaped his maw. He knew it would take time to get used to it, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed. His ears stilled for the time being and he looked up, his gaze simply forward as he spoke. “How late in the day is it?” He asked, already knowing the lioness was near, though how close he was unsure. It was pretty bright, from what he could make out, but that did not narrow it down much.

Auriaya raised her head to glance towards the sky, looking at the placement of the sun before looking back to her traveling companion. "It's about mid-day from what I can tell." She said, her tail whipping behind herself as she spoke. She was worried, though not too much, that Eos may have been pushing himself to become a better hunter. Just having Auriaya hunting for the two of them was hard and it was easy to see that hunger was likely the reason for this training. "You know you can take a break, right?"
Eonar sighed as she walked, her burnt orange eyes looking down towards her paws. Another sigh. She had been walking for so long on her journey to reunite herself with the only family she knew and it was starting to take its toll on all four of her paws. Her gaze raised from the sorry sight of her legs to up ahead. Must to her surprise there were two, very distinctive shapes in the distance. Perhaps they had some directions to her destination or at least maybe had some food or shelter to spare. Without delay, she set her path to meet the two others.

Eos turned his face towards the sky, feeling the sun on his face. He kept silent for a few moments before nodding. “I don’t mean to push myself too much, I just don’t like feeling so useless.” The male pushed himself up in to a sitting position, frowning lightly. It was true though, he did not. If pushing himself a bit might somehow speed up this process then it was something he was going to do. “I feel bad having to rely on you, I just-” The rest of the sentence was cut off as his ears perked forward. A slight change in wind had brought a scent to his nose, and it was a new one. “Is there someone out there?” He questioned Auriaya, straining his ears to catch the slightest hint of movement beyond them.

"Someone out there? Nah, I do- Hey, wait a minute. I think I see someone!" Auriaya's eyes finally caught sight of a light bronze, almost tan looking form making it's way towards the two of them. Whoever it was, it was a stranger to the two of them and needed to be treated as such. For all she knew, she was a hunter of kin and was after their white skins. The lioness stepped forward, moving closer to be beside Eos. Despite his size, he was near blind and relied on her. "Who are you?!" Auriaya called out, her voice demanding.
"I'm just an old lioness looking for her home." Eonar called back, her voice gentle and calm; almost the polar opposite to the white female's. "I am looking for my home, a pride that I think is around this area. The Pridelands. Do you know it?" Oh how she hoped they knew of it, first she would ask that, then look for shelter and possibly food as these two did not look like they were in the sharing mood, at least not right off the bat.

Eos stood up when confirmation was given that someone was indeed out there. He was quite large, so perhaps if they were aggressive his size could be an intimidation factor. However even as he thought of this he still placed a smile upon his face. No need seeming unfriendly to a stranger that had not yet done them any harm. Auriaya did not seem to share his attitude on this, but perhaps there were reasons for this, so he said nothing of tone towards the stranger.
It was a female, and an older one by the sound of it. This did not mean she could not be a threat, but she had not attacked yet, and like them she was searching for a pride, though unlike them she actually had a specific one in mind. “The Pridelands?” He repeated, trying to think if he had heard of a pride with such a name. It did not sound too familiar to him, but then again these lands were mostly unknown to the white male. “I’m afraid that I do not know of it.” He replied, but turned his head slightly towards Auriaya’s direction. “Do you know of it?” He asked, a bit softer, as she was not so far away as the other lioness.

Auriaya's eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the other lioness just leisurely approach the two of them. "I do. It's the pride we're heading towards at this point." She said in response more to Eos than to this stranger. The reason for the searching was already given though she was unsure whether she should give that kind of information to just anyone. Regardless though she had done nothing wrong to them. "We are heading to the Pridelands ourselves. Would you like to come with us?"
"Oh, no thank you dear. I'm weary from my travels though if you could point me in the right direction of the Pridelands and possibly some shade, that'd be lovely." Eonar responded to the offer rather quickly, as if she had already had plans of just resting regardless. "My, don't you two look like a fine couple. Two white lions, working together. Makes me miss my youth."

Eos was only slightly surprised to hear that the female in his company did know of this place, but more so at the coincidence that it was also where they were headed. It was, if nothing else, good to know that they had a destination in mind, and hopefully she also knew where it was. At the question to accompany them Eos turned his head back towards the older female. He was little help with any sort of directions at this time, though his ears swiveled back and forth slowly as he listened for anything that might be helpful. Maybe wind blowing through some branches, but nothing caught his attention.
At the elder female’s final statement his ears stopped moving. Two white lions? Eos had not really thought of it before now, but he didn’t actually know what his companion lioness even looked like. She wasn’t as dark a blur as everyone else so he assumed her at least a lighter colour. An amused smile spread across his face as he replied. “Thank you.” The thanks was half to the fine couple remark, though mostly for the older lioness having told him at least something of Auriaya’s looks, even if that had not been her intention.

"Yeah, sure." Auriaya replied with, wanting to get away from this lioness, despite her kindness, as quickly as possible. "Just keep going in that direction for a couple of days and you should be picked up by one of their border guards or a hunting party." She replied with tossing her head in a western direction; the direction of the Pridelands from their current location. "Come on then Eos, we should probably get moving if we wanna get there as quickly as possible." The longer they stayed out in the open, the more susceptible they became to pretty much anything. "Also, if you travel in the way you were going for about thirty minutes there's a small cave in some rock formation that you can rest in to beat the heat of the day."
"Why thank you dear. Good luck on your journey and I hope to see you there eventually!" Of course Eonar knew it would take her longer, what with her old bones and her lack of youthful energy. She sat, watching the pair begin to leave and move on towards their destination. Her tail flicked behind her as she raised a paw to paw at the air in a sort of waving attempt.
