 Why was she always traveling?!
Could she not simply just find a decent enough pride, settle down, maybe find a mate or something, have kids and just die peacefully in her sleep from old age? No, that just seemed too ideal, too perfect and Auriaya already knew that the universe had a way of keeping her from obtaining that reality. No, she had been cursed or at least she thought so, by bad luck at birth. Males had come and gone. Some not even staying because of her white pelt. Many say it as a weakness, that she could not hunt for herself because prey would see her. Or that she could not survive and would be fragile and need protecting her entire life. The lioness frowned at the thought of others looking down upon her, letting out a roar of frustration right before she sat herself down suddenly on a elevated rock pile. Auriaya's ears turned back quickly, her tail wrapping around herself as her expression and gaze dropped.
The sun was beginning to set on Africa anyways, this would be as good as any spot.

Travelling has been a slow process for Eos. He was still getting used to the loss of much of his sight. Adjusting was a slow process, and he still ended up in bushes or falling over various objects on the ground quite a lot. Hunting was even harder, and while he had been lucky a few times mostly the white lion had been forced to either seek help, which did not come often, or scavenge the kills of others. None of these options had been bad ones in his opinion, however it was a large weakness on a lion already born with one. The male was solid white, and while he had managed to deal with this as he grew up and honed his hunting skills all of that work had been dashed away in a matter of moments. Now he could barely see, and what female would want a lion so useless, a male who could not even provide for himself, let alone a family.

Auriaya's frown was firmly placed upon her face as she sat upon her rock, looking rather grumpy. It wasn't until a fly began to bother her that she actually looked up from her examination of the dirt. "Shoo!" She growled out, raising a paw against the insignificant insect. That's when she saw it, a male lion, as white of a pelt as she has, walking right towards a steep hill that would end him into nothing but muck. "Watch out!" The lioness called out as she rose onto her paws quickly, hoping he would stop in time. Surely he would have noticed it by now even if she had not yelled, what the hell was he doing?

Eos tried to push his thoughts of weakness aside. It would do him no good to dwell upon it, nor did he plan to let such ‘weakness’ rule him anyways. He wasn’t sure how, but he’d find a way to survive. Just as he was starting to feel a bit better, more determined to make the most of his situation he heard someone call out. The male wasn’t sure if this call had been aimed at him, or perhaps to another, but he was still curious what was going on. He looked around, ears perked forward as he tried to figure out the direction the cry had come from. Before it could do much good however he found his footing falter. The ground had taken quite a sudden shift downwards, and much of his weight shifted forward before he could react.
Down the white male went, claws out as he tried to grab on to any hold he could. It did little good however, and only managed to pull free grass and dirt that tumbled after him. Finally he came to a halt in the muck below, hitting it’s surface with a loud smack. He lay there on his back, a bit dazed, as he sunk a few inches into the foul smelling substance.

"Oh geez, oh geez, oh geez."
The words were mumbled under Auriaya's breath as she leapt from her stone perch and onto the ground. As soon as her paws met earth, she before running towards the mud hole. "You okay in there?!" She called out as she peered over the edge to check on him. He seemed to be okay other then the mud all over his fur. His...white fur? Another white lion?! This was the first she had ever seen before! Though there was a chance he did have markings that were hidden by the soft earth clinging to his body.
With a shake of her head she banished the thought, at least for now. "Hold on!" Auriaya yelled again, this time running away for a moment to return with a long, sturdy looking branch in her body. Slowly she began stepping her way down the slope towards him. Why the hell was she risking her own hide for some stupid lion who managed to get himself stuck in a hole?

The landing had knocked the breath out of him, and he lay there dazed as he tried to get his breathing back to normal. Slowly he managed to do so, only to fully realize how much the fall had hurt. A low groan escaped his maw as he attempted to roll onto his side. It took a bit of wiggling until he managed to roll over onto his side. It wasn’t very deep, but it was still enough to make moving a bit of a chore. Aside from that he was pretty much already covered in the stuff from his fall, and the smell was certainly not helping either.
Another call came forth, this time closer and seemed to surely be directed at his person. The white male raised his head, turning his face towards the voice. “I think I am okay.” Was his reply. Nothing seemed broken anyway. At most maybe some bruising, but all in all he seemed to be fine physically. The voice spoke again and he continued to roll once more, this time managing to bring himself onto his belly.

"Hurr ya goo." Auriaya spoke around the branch that was firmly placed in her mouth and behind her fangs. All the while standing there, close enough for any lion to actually see it behind held out for him to take and pull himself out. It was evident by the lack of grabbing and pulling though that he was not a normal lion. Before she had a chance to actually say anything more one of her paws began to slip on the moistened dirt. Luckily for them both, she managed to steady her footing, but not before the tip of it accidently nudged the other white lion's shoulder with the tip of the branch. "c** on man, grub tha steek."

Instinctively Eos turned his head to look around, eyes squinting through the mud to try and make out whatever it was being offered to him, as he assumed that that was what was going on. However with the waning light it was getting even harder for him to see, and the blurs of the terrain around him all started to form together. He opened his maw, about to say he could not see it, however before he could something jabbed him in the shoulder. Quickly, or as quickly as Eos could in the muck, and latched his jaws around the branch. “Go’ ik!”

With all her might, Auriaya pulled. Either the he would get free or she would fall in with him. Those were really the only too options at this point. When the feeling of the hold the muck had on him loosening and the amount of pull she needed to give waning, she began to smile around the stick in her maw. It wasn't long after that the sloppy semi-liquid gave way and released the other lion from it's grasp with a slap of a sound as it settled again.
Just as quickly Auriaya dropped the stick, glad that that part of the ordeal was over. "Come on, follow me. There's a river not too far that feeds this pit when it floods over. You can wash off there." She said, glancing over her shoulder as she climbed the slope once more and began to make her way towards the flowing water.

Just as hard as she pulled so did he on his own limbs to free them of the clinging muck beneath his body. The more he pulled the more it seemed to hold on, however eventually, with her help, he finally managed to break free from it’s grasp. Finally out of the muck he felt a little better, though the effort to free himself was wearing on him. However the prospect of being cleaned was more appealing at the moment than a quick rest. “Good. I’ll be glad to have his mess off of me.” He spoke, following in the direction the voice had come from. Ears swiveled forward as he listened intently for her paw steps, hoping this river was not too far.
