This series was the first one I started out with.
I thought it was great.
Then I read Song of the Lioness.
Now this is my least favorite.

But it really was a very nice series to read.
n.n;;
I wish Kel could have had a lover at the end of the series...

But I know that's not Kel so...

I never liked Cleon that much, for some reason. He was too nice. Of course, that could just be because I like snarky characters.....

I didn't really like this series because it differed so much. There wasn't much magic like there was in the previous books and I suppose it just didn't seem as...fantasy? as the others. And of course she didn't end up with someone - I think this is the only one of her Tortall series so far where the herione has stayed single, it just didn't feel as happy lol.

This series was my least favorite series as well, mostly because I'm a hopeless romantic whee

Love-interest-wise, I was as bad as Kel herself with that series. When she had a crush on Neal, I was all for that pairing. When she was with Cleon, I liked that couple. (It probably helped that I quite identified with Kel at that point, and Cleon rather reminded me of someone I used to know and have a mild crush on myself--they even looked alike.) And now I go for Kel and Dom. xp The odd thing is, I'm not really one for tons of romance, but I quite like it when there's a bit of it among a larger plot.

(In other words, after being disappointed about the failure of that particular pairing to come about, I mentally shifted it to another type of relationship I like. xp )

At first I wasn't sure how much I'd like this series, but it's now one of my favorites. I adored Neal, but not with Kel. I think they work better as friends. Besides, I rather think Neal and Yuki are sweet togther even if the pairing seemed to happen suddenly. I also adore Raoul and Kel's mentor-student relationship and that makes Squire my favorite book of the series.

I read Protector of the Small first, then Immortals, then Song of the Lioness, the the Trickster books. I still like Kel's story the best, and I really don't know why ^^;;.
One thing I really wanted to see was Kel getting together with Neal. I nearly threw the book out the window when Yukimi gave Neal her shukusen. whee
But then again, I spazz out easily. :sweaT:
My favorite book in the series was Lady Knight; I liked the idea of Haven.
