Hello everyone!
So, I've recently gotten into vlogging; it's so much fun, and I think that it's a great venue by which we can contact Gaia Online in a fun and creative way. Of course, there's always artwork, letters, etc. that we can mail to them, but videos work, too!
I made this video at the end of May, and though it's a bit long, I think that some of the points I bring up are worth thinking and talking about. For your benefit, here's a quick guide to the important parts of the video:
A summary of Narumi Misuhara's explanatory post is at 1:55 Three reasons the GGN should be updated:
Safety, at 4:40 Revenue, at 6:51 User experience, at 8:03
What other creative mediums can we employ to contact Gaia and encourage them to update guilds? What have y'all guys done, or planned on doing? They can't ignore hundreds of letters, haha! wink

Captain Silas Manner Two words:
Christmas cards. Oh that could be fun. We could make a nice card and have all the members sign it. . . somehow. If we do it right it could get the developers to notice us in a positive light. Which is what we need. Any ideas on how to specifically do this?

Eh, I figured just sending Christmas cards to them in general would be a nice gesture, but having one where we all sign it would be cool, but tricky. If we do that then I think we'd have to start months in advance, maybe even make a map of all our addresses and make a list of who sends to who.
Maybe if we all sign our name on our individual cards and add 'From the GGM Guild' or something to make it more group-y. Or, I could make a giant fold-out card with most of the guild's avatars on it, print it out, fold it into letter size and send it xD
Edit: What if everyone makes their signature in Paint or whatever program they have and we all post the images in the thread, then (I assume me) would compile all the signatures into one image and print it and mail it?

I was actually thinking like e-cards but if we can get a physical address that could be neat too. . . not sure we could get an email address actually. We'll have to work on this. Or we could just make it a pretty thread in a forum somewhere (possibly site feedback) and get people to sign by replying to it. Everyone doing signatures in paint or whatever could be neat too. I know my wife would have a blast making a card out of that. She enjoys playing with text.

Ebony and I have, in the past, done something like putting a card together over the internet for someone- if we could get everyone to sign in photoshop or scan a signature, then we could compile those signatures and send them together without having to release our addresses to anyone else.
I do love the idea of sending cards <3~
Does anyone else remember that "Making Mischief" campaign that Gaia ran a while back? Where people would take photos of themselves doing something Gaia related in the real world and send them in? Not that I'm suggesting "Take photos of yourselves" but what if we dropped some photobomb love in the forums from time to time? Just sentimental little things- pictures of simple signs we make expressing gratitude and appreciation, little photoshop doodles to remind the devs that we love them, etc etc.

Sometimes the forum mods will send you cute images as a thank you for reporting threads in the forums so they might appreciate getting something nice back. We'd just have to be sure not to break any rules in doing this - make sure we do it in the right places and what not.

Aye- certainly within TOS and nothing illegal in the real world or that may compromise anyones safety (say, by revealing location or identity)

I will totally try to make some zOMG ring replicas and pretend to fight things with them...
...only because I wanted to already, but still that's a wonderful idea.
-runs to make a red underwear sign for reapersun- (Well I'll make some for devs too. Sisky....gotta study what she likes)

We need tipping in guilds so I can tip this xD I've thought about making my ringset with something like air dry clay over stone craft rings (they're large enough to fit my fingers and they're cheap ;D) but I haven't gotten around to actually doing it.

I want to make Homestuck troll horns from Model Magic and some paint, so maybe when I go out with my guy friends today to the mall (There's a Micheal's nearby there) I'll pick some up and make rings, too x3 I'll see about putting a tutorial up if/when I get around to making them. It's too bad I use Wish a lot, that one looks a little tricky. Fitness, too. I suck at drawing buff muscles, let alone making a ring with it.

You're making me want to actually do this now = m= I'll be out shopping tomorrow, I could always pick up some clay. My ring set usually consists of Solar Rays, Halo, Fire Rain, Div, Fortune, Hack- and then either Meat, Sphere, Coyote, Sweetheart, or Slash in the free spots. Some of those look like they would be easier to make (and sturdier when finished) than others ; A;

My set is normally Mantis, Hot Foot, Solar Rays, Wish | Improbability Sphere, Ghost, Teflon Spray, Fitness. Usually I put on Meat before going in unless the instance takes a long time to get through. If I'm soloing: Mantis, Hot Foot, Solar Rays, Bandage | Meat, Divinity, Halo, Fitness
