⌖Myers-Briggs Type:ISTJ (guardian type, inspector role-variant) ⌖Personality:Alienation from social interaction for the majority of Beta's life left a large impact on the way the mewtwo reacts to everyday occurrences. For the most part, Beta can seem distant, projecting a cold and disconnected feeling about her and her actions. A main conspirator of this is Beta's habit to forget to take an individual's feelings into concern with most decisions or comments. She is highly protective, prone to "guard dog" behavior if she feels the situation calls for it. Adding to it her dutiful nature, she is loyal to a fault -- even when she knows she's being duped. This stems from the fact that Beta clings tightly to what she deems is of value to her (usually mentally or emotionally), clinging more tightly to past events than those of the future. ⌖Likes:Despite the confines of the place she calls "home," Beta prefers warmth to cold steel. However, she also would much rather prefer solitude, which can throw a metaphorical wrench in any plans to gain access to the former. Beta finds naivete rather charming instead of annoying, finding that little kids tend to have the largest deposit of it. In fact, Beta also likes action, preferably in the form of games, giving her a better connection to younger generations in that respect. The mewtwo likes foods with a kick. ⌖Dislikes:To add to the list of conflicting preferences, Beta despises surroundings that are too organic, such as forests and places with too much wind. This is due to the fact that the mewtwo has lived in a lab all her life, and finds that context to be more "natural." She has a trust problem, weighing more heavily against unknown humans rather than unknown pokémon. Above all else, Beta hates the implications of her own given name, attributing it to the fact that she was a "second choice" for the scientists that created her because they couldn't get their hands on a true mew. ⌖Other Quirks:Beta actually doesn't really like being a psychic-type pokémon, mainly because of the amount of time she has to spend in her head -- she's scared of her own mind and what it's capable of. She is self-alienating out of a childhood of forced habit, and because of a buried longing, it becomes a manipulated form of psychological self-harming. Beta keeps her promises, and holds this moral in high regards; however, this is only when she is the one to initiate them -- she doesn't expect others to necessarily hold promises of their own. She communicates entirely telepathically, and talks of herself in third person to further distance herself.

Beta never had a trainer in the normal sense of the word. She was, in a way, cared for by numerous individuals, but they went out of their way to provide for as little stimulation from face-to-face encounters as possible. This reduced the amount of attachment Beta had to those she grew up with, but didn't diminish the binding family tends to accrue.

Following her species' origins of being "created" rather than "born," Beta was an attempt at genetically manipulating a shiny mew into existence. While a failure in that respect, she was not without benefit to the scientists, and was kept around not only as a living research sample, but also as a security measure should anyone (or anything) try to shut their area of operations down. Despite precautions, Beta lives in the seaside tower of a laboratory by herself, and has been for years, guarding it until the day comes that they return. In the chaos of a sudden upheaval in the system, she was left to protect the information therein, and although she sticks by her thrust upon promises like cement, the lack of any real threat over time has made her grown that much more callous towards the entire ordeal.

As far as she knows, Beta doesn't have a single link to the outside world. Her genetics were mostly composed of carefully regulated, unprogrammed cells and technological manipulation, bestowing her with the lack of a true genetic ancestor. Since the scientists failed to create a bond with her, their own families would not extend to Beta either.

Holly - A very imaginative and childish pokémon, Beta found her antics to be adorable and her company to be rather refreshing. She accidentally made a promise to let the piplup into the upper portion of the lighthouse laboratory in the future, however, but trusts her enough not to have to worry about anything being irreperably damaged... Lucia - Despite being entirely skeptical of the motives of the nuzleaf, Beta couldn't exactly pin anything negative to the teen. Solanacea - The flabébé asked a lot of questions, and while they were all in the betterment of her knowledge, Beta couldn't help but feel exasperated over it. It may have been endearing, if not for the fact that she seemed to be out to attempt to prove Beta's beliefs wrong and disagree at every turn. A laboratory on the upper portion of a lighthouse, Beta makes her home in the abandoned research facility, acting as guard dog to the fragile equipment and top secret documentation that is housed in the tower, flanked by the ocean. While the scientists that once frequented the place are nowhere to be seen (and have not been seen in many years), their legacy remains housed in a master console that still functions, taking up much of the front part of the laboratory with sheer girth. There are a few rooms in the upper levels, much equipment for various -- mostly genetic -- experimentation, one of which is currently used as Beta's bedroom of sorts, complete with a steel table as a bed. The back room houses mostly broken and otherwise useless equipment and gadgets that the mewtwo has, on occasion, fashioned into something different a la Dr. Frankenstein means.
The lower levels stay mostly unattended, discouraging those that stumble in from taking too close a look. It is rather bare but for a captain's wheel adorning the far wall, but in its lack of care, now looks as though it were carved out of driftwood. The stone staircase leading upward is broken beyond repair and bars individuals from gaining access to the laboratory above. Rubble is scattered throughout the room, making it slightly hazardous in the dark, and a giant pair of wooden double doors is all the entrance that is offered.
The surrounding area is decorated with video cameras, hooked up to the master computer on the top portion of the lighthouse, giving Beta access to guarding the place from the inside out without having to leave. There are chutes that open on the bottom from the upper levels, but the only one that seems to be capable of using them is one that has levitation capabilities and opposable thumbs...

With a life mostly lived under the pretense that she herself was owned, and mostly by the ghosts of memories than anything else, Beta has few in the way of personal affects. All were gained more recently, as access to more rebellious feats became more apparent:
⌖Seashell:A shell that was gifted to Beta from the spirited Holly as a belated Christmas gift, along with a newly-dubbed name of "Coraline." It was the first object that Beta could identify as her own, and cherishes the fragile item. She seems to always keep it on her as a large-scale reminder.
⌖Makeshift Handheld Console:Created from various junk devices in the back room of her laboratory, Beta constructed a device that she could use to monitor the security of her lighthouse without actually being there. While the range of the handheld is not certain, it gives the mewtwo a chance to view the world like so many others take for granted.
