Joy, surprise, worry and relief, all mixed in with so much confusion, Rosie was having a hell of a time explaining just what she thought, or felt about her recent situation.
Having Vany'n back was certainly something that made her more happy then she could express, but the fact that Asch... the Rocket that took her had given her back, just like that.
He was Team Rocket, he chose Team Rocket over their offer to take him in, he chose to stay with people who took Pokemon... so then why would he give them back?
The blond trainer had not hesitated to reach out to her friends after that afternoon's events. Sending a message though her dex to those people she knew she could count on.
'Luke, Asch came to me while I was visiting my mom, I don't know why but he gave Vany'n back. She's okay, I'm okay, I'm not sure what to do though.'

Luke's initial response to the message was pure cynicism, and he caught himself before sending a bitter reply accusing Rosie of lying. His next thoughts involved questioning Asch's motives: perhaps he was simply trying to clear his reputation amongst the trainers so he could stab them in the back once more. That was the far more likely explanation compared to the suggestion that Rosie had made up the events. Passively he was aware that he would continue to be critical and disbelieving as long as he was unable to see directly the truth of the other trainer's story, and so he replied with a solution, curt enough to keep any contempt or anger from his words, Want to meet somewhere?

'Please' was the reply sent back to him, shortly followed, as if having forgotten that a place might be important to meet. 'at the pokemon center? I'm going to have Vany'n looked over there.'
The Vaporeon didn't seem hurt, in fact she looked to be in just as good health as ever this of course implied that Asch had taken good care of her... something else that Rosie was confused about.
Over the initial checkups the nurse had said everything looked good, but Vany'n was taken back to get closed looked over, leaving a pale Rosie to sit in the waiting room, her hands clasped by her knees.

Sure. He moved as he pressed the button to send his response, rising from the bench where he had chosen to rest from attempting to reacquaint himself with a sword - he had managed to get used to holding the hilt again, but he didn't remember training with the weapon in its scabbard being so taxing on his stamina. The pokemon center was a short ways off from where he had marked off his space for sword drills, and so it wouldn't be long before the young man appeared in the center's waiting room. The days following the loss of his Flareon, on top of the time he spent living with his pervasive guilt over the death of criminal that had kidnapped Emil, had not been especially beneficial to his overall health, and it wouldn't have taken a particularly critical eye to notice the pale complexion or tired posture. On finding Rosie, he made a visible effort to return some brightness to his expression, though the greeting smile he offered was wan as he approached her.

Noticing someone approaching at the corner of her eye, Rosie glanced over, perking up visibly to see someone familiar and friendly, welcoming the arrival of her friend. but her down greeting smile faltered when she noticed that things were not completely well.
There was a ghost behind his smile.
Rosie pushed herself to her feet as he walked over, turning to meet him.
"Luke, Thank you... I" she said, a crease in her brow was growing as blue eyes searched her friend's face.
She took a moment to try and unstick her throat "Are you okay?"

"Me? I'm fine." He wasn't the one that had been hurt by the Rocket woman's sudden attack, unless he counted the slight soreness resulting from being bound - and that had already faded long ago. He wasn't the one who'd been kidnapped by some insane woman who blathered on about medical science. He hadn't slept well, he recalled; that was probably what Rosie saw in him that led her to ask such a question. He deflected the sentiment, "What about you? And Vahy'n?" There hadn't been any indication in her message that she had had to fight to recover the Vaporeon, but that didn't mean it didn't happen.

A lot had happened since the League announced their involvement, Rosie assumed everyone was busy everyone was stressed, tired or just working. Everyone was probably just tired.
At the question of Vany'n, Rosie turned to look at the door she was taken behind.
"She's okay, I'm having them look her over though just in case." blue eyes turned back to Luke "It was Asch though... Luke, he was at the memorial park, and he just... let her go."

He frowned slightly. Sure, it was great that Vahy'n was back, but... It just didn't add up. "Do you know why?" There just wasn't any reason for him to return a stolen pokemon. There wasn't any reason for any of the Rockets to return their prizes. There was a part of him fighting to take hold of hope that Mieu could be returned as well, but he didn't want that hope. He didn't even know the name of the woman that had taken the Flareon; the chances she would ever bring him back were so small that it was moot to assign them a number. Any hope would just lead to disappointment.
