The letter had sat under Charlies pillow for a very long time. The pink haired demon had almost completely forgotten about his find until one night he had the urge to actually make his bed. Neatly pressed beneath his pillow the long sleeved demon discovered the rectangle paper envelope. He had to squint at it for some time before the memory began to slowly jog back to him. Maybe this was because he was still stalling.
The letter.
Charlie knew who this letter was from. His father. What words would he say to Charlie? Every once in a while the demon would receive a parcel from his father and the demon gladly opened that but never did he dream to open this letter. This letter was far more intimate than any of the parcels his father had sent his way. And now Charlie was stuck with this letter and no way to read it.
His first thought was to go badger Mac about having this letter read. But for some reason he'd not seen him in some time. Charlie had to wonder if the reaper was still even at the school. He instead found him self at Tahkis dorm room. The letter was not with him. He'd left it under his pillow for the time being.
Charlie balled his hands in to fists from beneath his sleeves and began to pound on the door.
"TAHKIIIII ARE YOU THERE!" Volume was not something the demon was very accustomed to.

Tahki had just returned from a surprise vacation. The gryphon hadn't even bothered to yet unpack her things. Her bags laid by the front door. Aisha, her demon cat, laid on top of the bags as if they were her throne to lay on. A loud hiss followed by some banging from the door caught the gryphons attention. Tahkis tail flicked. She wondered if maybe it was Uller until a very loud and very familiar voice was heard.
Charlie.
With out a doubt that was Charlie.
Tahki grabbed hold of her headphones and firmly placed them back on her head. She adjusted them slightly before going ahead and answering the door. For a moment she stared down at the pink haired demon.
"Charlie. What is it?"
Had he possibly set fire to something again? Tahki hoped not.

Charlie beamed up at the arctic gryphon. Rainbows could shoot from that smile if need be. The pink haired demon was just cheery and bright all over. He nearly forgot why he'd come to visit Tahki in the first place. After all the letter was still pressed beneath his pillow back home.
He did not come to have her read it.
He came to have her give him some courage.
"Hey there fluffy~" Charlie tilted his head to the side. His smile ever bright as usual. He was rocking back and forth on his heels just grinning like he was up to no good.

Tahki adjusted her headphones once more.
"Charlie do you have a point to coming here?" Her tone was flat. If this was a game the gryphon wasn't in the greatest of moods after being dragged by her parents to a vacation to their summer home. Most kids would jump at that opportunity but not Tahki. She instead spent much of her time wishing for internet and fiddling her thumbs away at hand held games.
But right now was not that story. Right now was Charlies story.

"A point? Always a point," Charlie pointed to his horns being a bit of a sarcastic a**. Or maybe he was being serious. It was hard to tell with Charlie some times.
"But actually ... Uh... Umm... I ... Uh... " Charlie looked over his shoulder. His expression was quite serious. Something was up. He looked back up at Tahki and gave her a very sad puppy frown.
"I... I ...." He stammered a little over his words despite his cheery self just moments before.

"..."
Tahki stared down at the boil. He was very unsure all of a sudden which was enough to clue her in that something was up. Charlie was never shy about spitting out what he wanted to say. Never. The demon usually spurted out what ever was on his mind but this time hie hesitated . Tahki grabbed one of his long sleeved hands and dragged him in to her dorm room. She locked the door behind her and silently walked over to take a seat on the edge of her bed. Tahki patted the other side of her as an offer to have Charlie come sit.

Charlie gladly accepted the offer for a seat. Like a small child he shyly shadowed behind Tahki and took the seat when it was offered. Once seated, he laced his fingers best he could given the fabric in the way and looked downwards at his feet.
He sighed.
Words were all of a sudden choked up in the back of his throat. This subject was a difficult one even for Charlie.

Tahkis ears twitched. The silence around Charlie was almost creepy. Tahki took a wild stab at the subject matter at hand.
"... You didn't try to go after Amrita again did you?" She found her hand stroking the locks of pink hair out of Charlies squinted eyes. Tahki was acting much more like an older sister right now than that of a friend.

Charlies head shot up at the mention of the name Amrita. It was true that he still harbored some sort of feelings for the undead. However the feelings he harbored were for an Amrita that was now lost.
The pink haired demon shook his head no and frowned.
"No." His tone was flat and defeated. This time the subject matter was not of Amrita. "No.." He repeated this time a little weaker. Finally Charlie went ahead and spat it out.
"I have a letter from my father."

Tahki stared at Charlie for a short time.
"A letter?"
It was not clear to the gryphon why Charlie would bring this up. Unless maybe the letter had been a particularly harsh one. Tahki frowned at Charlie with out meaning to.
"What kind of letter did he send you?"

"This kind," Charlie literally made a rectangular shape with his thumbs and index fingers. He was being quite serious as he did so. Tahki had after all asked what kind.

Tahki couldn't help but snort in laughter at Charlie. He was being dead serious and Tahki knew this but she couldn't help but laugh a little. Tahki couldn't help her self. It was hard to take the demon seriously right now.

"Wh.. Why are you laughing?" Charlies flailed at Tahki. He was being serious here and she was laughing at him. Charlie pouted. Was that kind of letter a bad sign? All the letter Charlie had ever seen were that kind of letter. Or maybe his dads was special.
"Tahki is it a bad letter?"

Tahki was wiping tears from her eyes. She hadn't laughed like that in quite a while. She smiled down at Charlie.
"No." She shook her head, "Well I don't know. Do you have the letter on you maybe? I can't know unless I read it."

Charlie pouted even more.
"No." He shook his head, "I don't want you to read it. I'm afraid of it." He crossed his arms and slouched a little like a young kid having a pity party for him self.
