Wolf looked to his mate, sadness lingering in his eyes. "We can't stay here any longer.... if we do..." He growled, looking down to the ground and pounding his paw into the ground. Wolf didn't like admitting defeat, didn't like everything had come down to this. "Security.... I... we... need to make the pack feel safe again." He looked from her to those sat eating behind her. "We need to leave this forest."

Lupita ate delicately at the side, her eyes looking up at Kouga every now and then, but she still hadn't managed to say anything to him... probably wouldn't either considering the way he still pined for Rose. Lupita didn't think she could bare any rejection... so it was best to avoid it all together. Still, she was nervous, the beast that was hunting them still was and because of that she hadn't risked wandering at all, hadn't gone in search of freedom or space.

Wrath came back with another rabbit in his mouth, it was rare that they got to eat so well and he knew everyone was taking what they could get while it was available... who knew when it wold disappear again. Spirits were down, and Wrath didn't know how to change that, or course that wasn't up to him anyway, that was all Wolf and Rose's choice. Wrath would simply follow his alpha pair to the ends of the earth and back.

Rose looked at Wolf wanting to take that look from his eyes, but she knew he couldn't look weak. Letting out a soft whimpering noise she edged closer and nuzzled into the thick fur under his chin, letting it look like he comforted her. Lifting her head to meet her mates eyes she offered a soft smile. "We will need a place to go to, that thing will keep following us. We are no threat to it."

Kouga sat quietly, he was a scout, so if the pack was to move he would soon be sent out. He looked over at the Alpha pair and stood up, his head bowed a little, it clear he was ready to do what was needed... He was always ready, and while not happy he was slowly accepting that Rose was forever out of his reach now. In time he would need to find a mate, but for now he would do his duty.

Pup sat out the way, as usual others paid little attention to him, but it left him in a good position to tell Wolf the things he did. He didn't think of himself as a spy, he didn't share anything private, but he was a baromiter, a way for Wolf to guage how well the pack took things.

Wolf appreciated the warmth and love he could feel coming from Rose. "I know, which is why we will leave this forest... and go in search of another land. Another place." He said the words quietly in her ear, not wanting to annouce it just yet to the rest of the pack. He looked at the group, the quiet and the loud, the hunters and fighters, the seekers and comedians... they were all here, all trusting their lives to the new alpha pair. Wolf saw Kouga then. They hadn't exactly saw eye to eye, especially since Kouga believed he was the one who deserved the alpha role given his father had been the old alpha... yet, he was thankful that Kouga seemed to be trying to help out. Perhaps it was only desperation caused from the situation that seemed to tie and draw them all together.... but they were Pack. Through thick and thin they had to be there for one another. He nodded back to Kouga, sure that the guy knew what needed to be done, and that thought gave him strength. Looking back towards the rest of the pack he stood tall, kissing Rose before stepping away from her to address everyone. "Prepare to leave." In his voice he allowed all his strength, all his dominace and all his sadness at what he was being forced to shine through. "We will find a new home. A safer home. TOGETHER!" He barked the last word, wanting them to remember, to know and understand that only together could they remain strong. And it was their strength that Wolf admired most.

Lupita looked down as Kouga stood and moved, her little heart fluttered and raced within her chest and before she could stop herself she gulped. Of course, her thoughts swiftly changed the moment that Wolf spoke, as always she sat up and paid attention. What he said however had he cowering a little, her tail bushing up and shaking. They were going to leave? But... but.... this was their home....? How could they leave? Confusion and panic covered her features.

Wrath quirked a brow at the alpha's words. Leave? He had been expecting that, but still, to actually hear the words was another story. Still he stamped his foot in the ground and bowed to show he was willing and able. Wrath would support Wolf and Rose until his last breath.

Kouga inclines his head just a little before turning towards the exit, giving Lupita a look, seeing the expression on her face, looking back to Wolf. It galled him but the alpha was right, they needed to move on from here but that caused fear in those that had settled too deeply, they were no longer the wanderers their ancestors had been, so he responded the only way he could to Wolf's final forceful together. He threw his head back and howeled. The cry of a pack member, a call to those in its pack, when one called..... others called.... It was a salute, and if answered it meant that they were not alone.

Pup threw his head back and howeled in answer to Kouga, in support of their alphas, an answer to unity. Pup was not big, or strong, but he was fast and he was in this pack whatever may come.

Rose looked at Wolf, she gave him a smile from where she sat beside him. Getting to her feet she to howeled. Silently she thanked Kouga for his reaction, if they could keep the pack together then there was hope, and with that they could do anything.

Wrath didn't have a voice like the others but he still held his head back and let out a silent howl, tapping his paw on the ground so that at least some sound was made. It had been so long since he had heard his own howl, but ever since the winter he had fell ill his voice had simply vanished.

Lupita looked around, everyone seemed to be howling and always one to follow she nervously sat up and did the ame. Though as she did she realised something... this was the right thing to do. She had to support Wolf and Rose. They were alpha. They were pack.

Wolf smiled and looked at the pack, unity in their voices... or lack of voice for Wrath, but still the sentiment was the same. Holding back his head he let out a howl of his own, and it wasn't until the sound came to a natural end that he looked around at the group again. "Thank you." He grinned, feeling better and stronger for their support... yeah, he really did owe Kouga for starting that one, not that he liked to admit that he owed Kouga anything... "Let's act quickly then." Wolf ended up looking at Lupita, she was the 'weakest' link of the group, nervous and timid she needed the most support and protection, he would make sure to have either Wrath or Kouga watch over her.

He nodded and turned to Rose, "I'll be back in an hour." With that he walked over towards Kouga as he left the den, when out the hearing range of the others he said, "I need to talk to you."

Rose dropped down from the rock plateau her and Wolf had been on, starting to make her way through the wolves, helping thme make ready to go.

Pup moved over towards Rose, though not one of his other brothers he wanted to be of use so he would keep an eye on Rose while Wolf was dealing with the Beta's.

Kouga looked at Wolf and followed him silently, heading out of the den with him. Not sure what this was about ut expecting instructions to go scouting. Cough if they planned to leave in a hurry that didn't give much time.

Wolf stood silent for a moment, unable to voice the words that needed to be said. He wanted to flash his fangs, to show his dominance... but the fact was he had already won Rose, and she was likely the reason he was acting like this. Shaking those thoughts he focused on what he needed to do, what he needed to say. Focus! "While I can't give you much of a head start, I need you to scout a head before circling back to inform us of the best route out of the forest..." In other words, reveal any hints of the direction of the skinwalker beast that seemed to be hunting them so they could try and avoid it. No easy feat considering the damage the creature had already dealt the pack... but perhaps, just perhaps they would catch a break. God's above knew they needed one. "....don't go too far." He said. Turning then to return to the pack. He really needed to work on his relationship with Kouga, but the constant challanges that had only really just ended held him back. He wasn't ready to return to that.

Lupita smiled at Rose as she tried to help her, but she couldn't quite look the other in the eyes... of course Lupita knew she was the lowest of the pile here when it came to dominance. Wrapping the remains of the food up in large leaves so they could carry it with them, Lupita tried to busy herself with what needed to be done... all the while her heart couldn't believe they would be moving! That they would be changing homes... this was her home! She knew nothing else, had never been out of this forest before.

Wrath helped any of the pack members he could before making his way to the den exit. He scented the air. Now. It was time to leave.

Kouga simply nodded and bounded off to do as he was told. Wolf hadn't been joking when he said he had virtually no headstart, but he knew this forest well, so he picked the best way and scouted that for the beast first. It didn't take long to be back and have them heading in the safe direction, no sign of the skinwalker this way, and with any luck it wouldn't be round again till their trail was cold.

----------------------

The pack had left as soon as the preparations had been completed, and as Wolf lead the group he couldn't help but stop to check over those under his care to check how they were doining. Pup appeared then, and he found himself softly asking, "What is your opinion of the situation?" He breathed out heavily, "How are they taking it?" After all, Pup saw things most overlooked.

Rose walked along quietly with wolf, feeling kind of bad that they had left Kouga to do most of the running, whenever they came to rest he would need plenty to eat to replace the energy he was burning going back and forth.

Pup looked at Wolf and shrugged. "Some are scared, most are behind you, I think most would be more happy if they had had more chance to plan and scout, or if they kew where they were going.... We are lucky that we have no females ready to whelp... The pups.... We will need to watch them along with the weaker members...." Having been surprised to find some even weaker than him.

Wolf nodded at Pup. He agreed, it wasn't ideal... maybe he should have planned it more, but then again the beast they were running from seemed to change their mind quickly and it was unfortunite but unavoidable that they had found themselves in this situation, at least that was how Wolf saw it. Since they acted in the moment it was in Wolf's thinking that they would have the best chance of survival since it was so instinctive and last minute. Planning could have been foiled by the beast. Pushing that aside he focused on Pup's words and nodded. "Ok, I think Lupita is struggling the most." Or that was his intrepretation of what he had observed, she was timid on any day but today she seemed more withdrawn

Wrath circled the group as they moved, ready to defeat and protect them should something come at them. He knew he was unlikely to survive the beast clutches, but maybe he could give some sort of warning to the others before he died. No, don't think like that. He found his eyes looking through the bushes towards the pack.. he couldn't die yet.

Lupita scurried after the group, her eyes darting across the bushes and trees with every movement. Most were caused by the wind, some by animals trying to escape a wolf pack... nothing bigger seemed to stir but that didn't really make her feel better. Something creaked, making her jump and bump into Rose. Blushing brightly she lowered her head and spoke in a hurried, uncontrolled voice. "Sorry, Pleaseforgiveme... it was... an accident." Some of the words seemed to merge together, and she wasn't even sure if Rose would understand most of what she had just said.

Kouga bounded into sight onl to stop in clear view of the pack, give a small yip and bounding off again to show where they needed to move along a smaller side track than the path they were on.

Rose looked at Lupita, surprised she had said anything at all, but she just nodded and kept walking, hearing Kougas yip to lead the way.

Pup nodded and sighed. "Yes, I think part of that is because she is longing after Kouga... Shes a lost pup after him... She doesn't seem to get that she would need to be stronger to gain his interest." It seemed logical to him after all, it was rare that a stronger wolf woud accept a weaker mate.

Wolf quirked a brow at that, Lupita liked Kouga? Ok, yeah he could see heartache coming from that if not something worst. He sighed and nodded to Pup all the same, "Yeah. Especially since he isn't even looking." Nor would Wolf even try to push Lupita in his direction, not because he disliked Kouga in that but he knew that it wouldn't end well for either of them. At the yip he looked to see Kouga back in view. Speak of the devil. He yipped in responce, his ears twitching to the all the forest noises around him. They would be leaving the forest soon.... then... where would they go? He wanted to growl at the thought of being homeless, as if breaking the forest borders would mean the end of something needed for them all.....

Lupita blushed and fumbles as she skipped away from Rose. She hadn't expected the alpha female to speak to her, wasn't even sure why she had spoke herself.... but at least she was back where she belonged, silent and in the quiet darkness of the group, easy to overlook yet still part of the whole. The yip made her look up, and the moment she saw Kouga she felt her heart skip a beat again. Yeah, she really needed to get over this obsession she had with him; knowing all too well that there could never be anything between them.

Wrath came back towards the pack and nodded to Wolf before running off after Kouga. The forest ended soon, and he didn't want his fellow wolf to be left vunderable out in the open.

Pup gave Wolf a sheepish look and decided to try to be a brother more than a pack member. "He's trying you know.... I mean how would you be if he had taken over the pack and taken Rose for mate? I know you watched her before all this... You and he are very the same..." His ears flattened a little, not because he thought Wolf would attack him for saying this, but he knew his brother wouldn't like it, but also he felt bad for pointing things out when his brother disliked Kouga. The wolf was nursing dashed hopes and maybe a broken heart as well as the loss of his father, to Pups thinking it would have been amazing had he just laid down and taken everything.

Rose looks over at Lupita, never sure what to say to the so timid female, while Rose always tried to be good to them all she found it hard to respect the other female and that made her feel bad because she saw it as a failing in herself.

Kouga, glanced at Wrath as the other wolf came after him, breaking off to check a different path. Stopping and lookig round, sniffing along the ground, not able to smell the creature here at all, but there were many other smells, it was going to be hard to pick a location.

PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:39 am
Wolf growled a little at Pup's words but understood them. Ok, so he wouldn't have liked it, wouldn't have just stayed around either most likely had the roles been reversed. Still, that didn't make things easier... but ok, he could try! He would try. Suddenly a shiver ran down his spine... he didn't like something, but couldn't put his paw on exactly what seemed out of place. "Let's pick up the pace," He called to everyone, not wanting to push the pack too hard for too long... but they just needed to move, he wasn't sure how he knew it but he knew it. He looked to Rose, "Ro," He said softly, wanting to catch her attention without getting everyone else also. Moving towards her, he nipped at her ear playfully before speaking, "I'm going to push everyone until we stop. I need you to tell me if I push too hard."

Wrath watched Kouga, his movements were well trained and purposeful, he was the opposite to himself. Fast and limber while Wrath had more brawn and power. A strange combination, but a deadly one at times. He blew air out of his nose in a soft 'huff' for attention, he pointed with his nose -left, and then right- before tilting his head in question. He wanted to know where they were going. It wasn't as if they had a plan, and now that the forest egde was upon them and the world revealed... Wrath was feeling a little vunderable, he had been born in the forest. Still, he wouldn't back down, that would bring dishonour to himself and those he fought for. His eyes looked out, and he licked his lips suddenly wanting water.

Lupita looked up at the command to move faster, and hesitated before obeying. It wasn't as if she planned on not following, she wouldn't do that, but it had come as a shock.

Kouga did another loop in the open area before deciding on a path, his head coming up as he gave a yip and started bounding over the grass towards a hill, covering the meadow before he stopped again and sniffed around some more. Giving another yip, knowing Wrath was following now he headed up the hill and out of sight behind some large rocks. Glancing at the sky he pressed on, rubbing now and then to leave a stronger scent the way he was going, more intent on finding a safe shelter for them for the night. Stopping when he came to a large river, following it to the right and hitting a cliff, standing and stairing out over the land, able to see so much, the crasing spray of the water was refreshhing. And in the not to far distance was a big blue lake, so huge it lookedl ike the sky had fallen to earth. A faint smell of salt came from it, but not the river. Wandering back to where he had found the river he had a drink and turned to make sure the others were following.

Rose nodded and gave Wolf a lick, splitting off to take up the rear so she could be sure no one fell behind, she looked forward to a drink and to curl up with her mate that night. Other than that she was quite excited for the move.

Pup lowered his head at his brothers growl and hung back again.

Wrath would have relayed the information given by Kouga had he been able to make a noise, yeah it was a huge disadvantage most of the time. He really did miss his voice....! A faint sliver of hope lingered that maybe, just maybe, he would one day be able to get it back... but how? It wasn't as if there was some magical curse out there, right? Instead he lingered between Kouga and the pack, ensuring that he was seen before carrying on... perhaps being born of white was useful after all, he stood out against the colourful world.

Wolf felt a rather guilty as he watched his brother hang back with his head lowered, he hadn't meant to do that to him.... after all, it wasn't Pup he was mad at, npt even Kouga if he was honest with himself, but rather himself. He shook it off, now wasn't the time for that. Especially as they broke through the forest border and could see.... everything. He blinked for a moment, almost hesitating, at least until he remembered who he was no... alpha... show no weakness. Stiffening up and returning to his stoicness he nodded to himself and took off. They couldn't afford to linger in the open, not even with their numbers. He saw Wrath, and followed after the guy. "Quickly everyone." He said, leaping and bounding after the guy. Of course, he paused every now and then to ensure that everyone was still together, his eyes seeking out Rose to ensure she was satisfied that everyone was doing ok before continuing.

Lupita followed, running as fast as her body would allow it to. But that meantit didn't take long until she started to softly pant. Keep going she told herself, Just keep going. She didn't want anyone to have to suffer because she was so weak.

Thankfully wasn't all that long before the found a place to rest. Everyone taking water and sharing out the remains of the food. Of course most of it was offered to Kouga since he had worked the hardest. The shelter they had found made Lupita a little nervous, there wasn't a lot of room within it and she feared she would have anywhere to escape.... again her eyes sought out Kouga, and a strange thought made her blush. Maybe she could use this as an excuse to steal a rare closeness with him, even it was only 'pack' and for the sake of sleeping as a group? She blushed at her thoughts and looked down at the water again, making herself busy with drinking.

Rose had kept those at the back motivated with playful chatter, that was till the pups started tiring, then she like some of the others had picked one up by the scruff and carried it till they found shelter, setting the pup down carefully with its parents before she walked away to eat, drink and rest.

Pup settled out the way once they were free to do so, not wanting to be a bother.

Kouga had eaten enough but not all he was offered, he could hunt tomorrow while scouting if needs be, but for now he felt no need to take food others might need, so he ate enough and then settled in a spot to rest, not seeming to mind when others pressed in close to him.

PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:48 am
Things had pretty much gone like that for days. Move all day, stop in the evening to rest, recover and collect their thoughts. It was getting tiring... but Wolf had been off to scout also, and had noticed a forest near by. Was that their goal? Probably, even as Wolf worried that something like the beast they had left behind them might start hunting them again. His heart couldn't bare the idea of losing more of his pack. Slowly he ducked under a tree, spying Kouga in the distance. Unlike Wolf, Kouga's colours were perfect for the muddy floors of the forest, he was far harder to see than Wolf with his white pelt. Perhaps this was an opportunity to clear the air a little between them? Biting back a little of his pride he spoke softly, "Good job." He nodded to the other wolf, before glancing away and out at the world around them. "Don't push yourself too hard though, if you need to stop tell me. Wrath, Grey or even myself can take over for a while." Though Kouga was probably the most effiecent at the job. It was Wolf's version of a peace treaty, though knowing Kouga he would likely see it as an insult... but maybe that was just Wolf worrying because he had been the one to say those words rather than another, like Rose.

Lupita was in a rather happy mood, her secret smile had been in place for a few days now. Not every night, but quite a few, she had found the courage to get close to Kouga. Wolves liked to touch, and she didn't have an issue in that, it was just because of who it was. First it had been just a paw, that had been all she had dared, but last night she had slept with her back pressed softly against his. Ok, maybe she hadn't done much sleeping but still. Looking over at the others she was glad they were taking a little break while a few of the stronger males went out scouting. The forest was so close she could almost taste the safety of the trees. Though the trees were different from those she used to call home. Different leaves, different smell... but trees all the same. She watched as the pups played with their mother and part of her wondered if she would ever get that. She stood up... as if intenting to play but in the end sat back down instead and blushed. What was she thinking? Sometimes she felt a little braver... at least until she reminded herself of what was expected of her.

Wrath had set off in the opposite direction to Kouga and Wolf, hoping to scout out anything of danger from that side. His nose detected a few other wolves in the area... which could do them some good given how many they had lost, especially in terms of females. Too many unmated males made the pack unstable and unhappy. Plus too few females meant no pups. Of course, Wrath couldn't wonder if he would one day find a mate himself, no one currently in the pack appealled to him... but maybe, out here in the wider world he would find his other half.

Rose sat down next to Lupita, glancing at the female, trying to give her a little pep talk. Having been watching her for days and been amused by her not so covert persuit of closeness with Kouga. "If you want something, or wish to be chosen then you need to be more bold." Looking at her again, her expression gentle but otherwise passive. She wasn't about to push them together as a pair unless its what they both wanted, but then Lupita could be a productive pack member if she wanted to be.

Kouga looked at Wolf and nodded. "I'm fine, but I'll let you know if I need that." He nodded again and slunk through the underbrush. There were many smells here, though one he came across more and more often. Sniffing around, finding many new and old scent overlaped here and there... Someone was a frequent visitor here, wondering whos territory they had wandered into as he trailed around, following the scents here and there with a frown.

Pup had flopped down and was currrently being chewed on and played on by the pups. He didn't mind, it was kind of nice, and it made him smile.

Lupita blushed wildly at Rose's words, panic settling into her heart. Had she been that obvious? Had Kouga figured it out too? Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!! She couldn't deal with that. She would have to keep her distance. Not look at him. Her blush brightened and she ended up looking away, but that wasn't completely unusual for her. Not sure if she should talk or remain silent. In the end she found herself timidly asking, "How?" Her eyes found Pup who now covered in pups. He looked rather adorable covered in the things as they nipped and tugged at him.

Wrath was picking up the same scent, time and time again, mixed among thousands of other more sutble scents. What was it? It... reaked.

Wolf nodded at Kougar, feeling as if he wanted to say more but unsure what to. So he remained silent and let him go... at least until his ears picked up something... it was subtle, ulmost none exsistant.... but it was there. He yipped low, trying to warn Kougar had he not heard it as he lowered himself to the ground and looked around. Extending his claws he prepared for the worst.

Demon found himself wandering his forest again, he had just ate three rabbits and washed off most of the excess blood. His stomach was at least sated for now, still he heard something. Talking. He frowned, who was here? Glowing white eyes searched the trees and forest until they fell upon a flash of white that was clearly out of place in the forest. Approaching with a practised grace and silence he stalked his prey, at first simply curious as to what was happening. Usually the animals here didn't interact much, at least not that he saw, so this was a rather entertaining idea to him. Something moved to his left, and he turned in time to see a brown wolf with a necklace of teeth slip off into the foilage. He couldn't keep an eye on them both, but he wasn't worried. It would take far more than two tiny wolves to bring him down. Licking his lips and tasting the lingering flavour of the rabbit, part of him wanted to growl or shout 'boo' simply to freak the wolf out. It was clear from the way the thing acted that it was used to being in control, even the warning yip and croach spoke of a creature very used to this. Interesting.

He acted so fast that his movements were nothing but a blare. A moment later his hoof was squarely pressed onto the white wolf's stomach. "Well, well, what do we have here?!" He looked down and scented the creature. It was a new scent, not one that Demon had spied within the forest before at least.

Rose shook her head as the female freaked out. "I'm not sure why you are freaking out, but you looked so.... wanting.... as you watched the pups.... If you want that... you will need to reach for it." Not wanting her to think that she was talking specifically of Kouga, after all he was probably still wrapped up in his own feelings, for that she felt a little bad. "Start with something small, like asking for something or having a conversation... Then go from there."

Pup laughed as some tried to wriggle under him, he loved the pups, things were so uncomplicated with them. Reaching out a paw he scouped one close and gave a pretend evil laugh and then proceeded to make eating noises as he licked all over the pup ticking it.

Kouga herd the yip and turned among the foelidge, his eyes narrowing on the large beast that had pinned Wolf. Moving forward he let out a growl, bearing his teeth as he slinked forward. While part of him had no love for Wolf, he was his Alpah fair and square, not to mention Rose would be heart broken, she would have no pups and no mate, he couldn't do that to her.

PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:54 am
Lupita blushed again. Oh she meant the pups? She relaxed a little but didn't comment further for a while, simply shook her head. Rose made it sound so simple, but it wasn't simple was it? Far from it in fact since she was nothing like Rose, something she put voice too, even if it was with a shaky voice. "I... eh... am not you." She lowered her head to the ground and covered her nose with her paw. She couldn't believe she was having this conversation, Lupita liked to be seen as invisable.

Wrath was still wandering, but as he reached the end of the forest he decided to make his way back to the group. At least until he spied some rabbits... dinner! He licked his lips and set about the hunt.

Wolf bared his teeth, but didn't waste his energy in trying to wriggle free. It was clear he was going no where, still he would watch and wait and take the first opportunity to escape. He growled low, his eyes only drifting from the devil winged beast when he heard Kougar's growl, he wanted to tell the guy to run away... to save himself... but it was too late, the beast had already turned to see him. Silly Kougar! Why hadn't he escaped while he had the chance?

Demon licked his lips, almost willing to accept that he saw a strange strength in the wolf that bared its teeth and growled though didn't try to escape. He added a little more pressure just to make sure his strength was clear, especially as he turned his head away from the white and grey creature and to the brown one who was now also growling. "Have you come to join the party?" Part of him was regretting having ate those rabbits earlier, these two would have been far more interesting to have for dinner. He laughed, shame, he would settle for playing with them. "This is my land." He said, matter of factly, turning his attention back to the grey wolf as he lowered his head so he was nose to nose with the thing. "Why are you here?" He sniffed then, noticing the scent of not just this wolf but another... a more delicate, female scent... "Looking for your mate, perhaps?" Why did that almost make him feel like kin? After all, he was searching for his... well, not mate, since he possessed no such feelings... but possession! Cherish was his, and he would get her back.

Rose stands, smothering a sigh, the female was hopeless, she just hoped that Kouga didn't take pity on her because she predicted the beyond timid female would make the vital male miserable. Besides she didn't have the backbone a beta. "I am aware of that, but if you want to be happy you have to go for it, it wont come for you..." With that she walked away, laughing at Pup and his antics with the pups, glad of the happy yipping, feeling broody for her own. She knew now was not the time but still....

Pup kept playing, though he was starting to wonder where the others were, it seemed to have been a long time, but then he hadn't been keeping a good track on time.

Kouga inched closer. "Let him go" Growling again, seeing the look that said he was an idiot from Wolf, giving him a snort and a look. Looking at the creature again, able to smell him, this had been the one that dominated the area for scent, it seemed they had flead one beast and run into another.... He wasn't sure how they would get out of this, but if only one of them could Wolf had to survive.

Lupita wimpered a little at the other she-wolf's words before she walked away. If only taking what you wanted was so simple, she simply couldn't do it.... not even if it meant a chance with Kouga. She stood up and turned then, seeking solitude from the pack so that she could cry alone for a little while. She had never planned to tell Kougar or anyone else how she felt, had planned to simply let her feelings fade to dust... yet as Rose had started speaking she had felt almost a glimmer of hope, at least until that too had been stolen from her. And so she cried, silent tears rolling down her face.

Wrath had managed to catch two rabbits, and with his kill hanging limp from his mouth he made his way back to the pack. Two rabbits might not be quite enough, but it was a start. He could always seek more later. It didn't take long for him to get back since he had ran, dropping the rabbits near were the wolves were playing he laughed silently, it was nice to see them play. Such a normal thing, he only hoped that this time there would be no danger to haunt him.

Demon laughed, turning back to the brown wolf. "I do not believe that is the answer to the question I asked." In one swift movement he swiped out at the wolf's feet with his spade tail, a grin flashed acrossed his features though with his fangs it looked more like a snarl. "Shall we try again? WHY are you here?" His eyes narrowed, "I can tell you are not alone.

It was only with those words that Wolf began to struggle... not alone... was this beast able to catch scents also? The thing didn't look quite as merciless as the beast in the forest, the pure skinwalker, though that didn't mean he could risk his mate and pack. No. He was willing to let any more innocent lives be lost.... not even Kougar. He couldn't speak properly given that the beast was holding him tightly to the ground, but he thrashed in the hope of getting the things attention. It worked, since a moment later two menacing glowing eyes were upon him. But Wolf didn't show fear, couldn't. Even pinned he would not disgrace his rank.

Demon looked down at the wolf he had pinned again, "So.... you have something to say?" He raised his hoof. "Then quickly... before I change my mind." Demon was confident in his skills, he would strike and kill them both if he had to. Wolves and Foxes were often upon his menu.

Rose watched Lupita slink off, shaking her head, while the pack helped eachother you still had to help yourself. Sighing she looked round and smiled as Wrath set down 2 rabbits, wel lthat was a good sign, there were several hungry wolves here, the traveling had made them all more hungry, it would be good to find a place to settle.

Pup sat up and looked round as Lupita walked off, he didn't understand her, she was in love but barely even spoke to anyone let alone the object of her affection. He had caught parts of the conversation and all he could do is sigh and guess she was going off to cry alone. He felt bad for the female but what was to be done, tis is something she could only do for herself. And Kouga, nice guy though he was wouldn't show an interest in her unless there was something to be interested in...

Kouga got winded as his paws were taken from under him, landin with a oof on the ground he got back to his feet, growling low again. "I don't trust it...." He doubted Wolf did either, but it had a look that promised death if they didn't answer the question, but then there was no promise that they would live after answering anyway.

Wolf agreed, he didn't trust this creature either, but at least it hadn't simply killed them on sight like the other had done. He was torn by what to reveal, his need to protect warring with the need to find a new home. Both desperatly trying to fight for victory. He looked at Kougar, even as he coughed to regain his breath. Getting to his all fours with a lazy roll he looked up at the beast. "We seek something that is our own." That could apply to just the two of them, or a pack.... he was being vague on purpose. He flicked his tail as he glanced at Kougar, hoping the guy would leave before this turned ugly though he had a feeling it wouldn't, they were both as subborn as the other.

Demon quirked a brow at that, stepping back so he could see both wolves and whatever plans they could hatch between them, sure he wasn't worried they could kill him... but he wasn't foolish enough to believe that he would avoid all harm. "Your own...." He laughed, "Women, land, food...? I am afraid you will have to be more specific. And quick. I grow tired of this game. I would rather play one of the hunt." His eyes narrowed on the pair again. Demon was not known for his patience, and any moment he would likely snap.

Lupita cried. Burying her nose under her paws as she let it all out. She knew she was pathetically weak, knew that she was not as strong or fast as the other members, not as brave or cunning... no, she was quite and resevered, always questioning herself and her ability. Opening her eyes slowly she saw the curve of the river as it went off in the opposite direction. There were rocks crossing the river, and as she looked at them a sudden idea occured to her. Standing up she moved towards them, jumping from one stone to another until she was sat in the middle of the river. Dipping her paw into the water she simply enjoyed the cool freshness, the way it felt, the gentle power of the current as it rushed past her. Many underestimated water. It seemed harmless, defenseless.... but given enough time, it could erode the very earth itself, changing the landscape to one of its own design. She closed her eyes... could she be like water?

Wrath nodded to Rose before nosing the food towards her in invitation, as the alpha female she was always invited to dine first, even if she didn't accept the honour. Tradition was something that Wrath always indulged in, his way to demonstrate his respect.

Kouga glared at the creature, this one seemed only mildly better than the other thing hunting them. Claws digging into the dirt, shifting restlessly, not growling but he was clearly agitated, but he didn't dare say anything, firstly he wasn't the boss, and secondly he didn't want to tell the thing anything. Besides it clearly didn't want them here so they would do better to attack and get it over with than this.

Rose smiled at Wrath and picked up the rabits, hungry herself but she would survive, setting one down for the older weaned pups to eat and the other for the mother that was still feeding her pups, walking back over to Wrath. "Want some help bringing more back?"

Pup smiled as all the pups piled off him for the food, looking over at Rose, pleased she had fed the little ones first, his tail swooshing as he looked at her. "My brother chose well for his mate."

Lupita opened her eyes a little while later. It would take time to change and grow and not come across so timid, and she wasn't willing to push herself into something she wasn't... but the water had given her a strange dose of liquid courage. She jumped back to the bank, nearly slipping on the last rock and having to scurry quickly in the mud to get to safety. She pouted as she looked down at her yellow tinted pelt. Great.... just great. She would need to wash now before she returned, after all she is had a strange sort of pride, even if most didn't see or realise it.

Wrath looked over at Rose, nodding softly at the question. Only a fool would deny the alpha female what she wanted, even if it was just to hunt for a little while. He knew from experience that Rose was more than capable of taking care of herself... not that the same could be said for all the females of the pack, something that had got worst for one in particular since the attacks. Lupita. He pitied her, and part of him wanted to drag her out into the forest and force her to face her demons, to unlock and awaken the true wolf spirit that was within her. They couldn't afford to keep those weak minded for long, not given the new dangers that surrounded them.

Wolf growled, he didn't want to say more, wasn't willing to say more... but at the same time he couldn't risk fighting this creature and then losing. If both Kouga and Wolf died the pack would be deverstated beyond believe, and Wrath wouldn't make the best alpha in his opinion, and not just because of the lack of voice. He growled, lowering himself to the ground as if preparing to pounce though he made no move to do so.... yet. "Our business is our own!" He growled, already his mind was wondering how they could escape from here alive. The Gods must really hate them if had simply tossed them from one hell to another.

Demon hissed at the reponse from the two wolves, he was through playing. Slamming a hoof on the ground he sent the earth beneithe him shaking and dirt flying into the air. "Wrong answer!" He growled, the nose low and vibrating in his throat. Kicking the grey wolf before him with his hoof while he moved his spade tail to wrap around the brown wolf's leg.

Kouga didn't need two lessons when it came to life and death, and while he was not in a position to save Wolf he was in one to sink his fangs into that accused tail as it grabbed at his leg. So he did, biting hard, snarling as his teeth did their work. Letting go when the tail released him and bounding out the way, he wasn't going to get snagged again. "Go Wolf, get the others out of here, I'll buy you time.... I'm sorry" The last as an apology for making things so hard for Wolf, lunging to snap at the feet of the beast. Not minding if he died, as long as Rose and the others were safe.

Rose smiled at Wrath and looked at Pup, blushing a little, embarassed at his words.

Pup sat up, grinning with his tail wagging, it a treat to see Rose flustered a little.
