Things were...strange, without Kanzi around. She'd gotten so used to him being there, day in and day out, even if he'd been self-absorbed and inattentive, that adjusting to his not being there was a slow process. It didn't help that she was not the most social of lionesses, and didn't often interact with others outside the day-to-day business of hunting. She didn't want to admit it to herself, but she was lonely. Lonely, and a little sad. She'd loved him once, hadn't she? And maybe he'd loved her, in his own way, and if that was so, then maybe she should find him, talk to him, apologize for being so silly and selfish and-
No. Tekacha'moyo shook the thoughts from her head and stood, hopping down from the rock she'd been sunning herself on as thought to leave them behind entirely. It was over, and it was better this way.
She just hadn't realized quite how hard it would be to be alone.

Dhiren had slipped away from his new found friends. Sometimes it was good to get out on his own and explore things for himself. He had a grin on his face, and took in a deep breath before making his happy little way. He had just adjusted to the lands, finally. Having seen everything that truly needed to be seen, now it was time to find the small details of the land that makes it interesting. Be it plants, other lions, or just random things he found on his walks.
It didn't take long before he happened to see the lioness hop down from a near by rock. She seemed to be in her own thoughts, and upset. Dhiren, a curious fellow, decided to see if he could cheer her up in anyway he could. he didn't like seeing other's upset, after all. "Hello, Miss?" he started. "Are... Are you okay?" He asked with a genuine consumed look on his face.

Still mostly in her own head, the last thing Tek expected, by far, was to be addressed. She started slightly, blinking wide blue eyes at the male for a long moment before she said anything. A very long moment, while she struggled to both overcome the surprise and come up with the words for an answer. Preferably a believable one, but truthfully, she'd never been much of a liar.
She looked away and down and cleared her throat before looking back up - at him, but not in the eyes. "Oh, I...I'm fine. I was just letting myself think too much, that's all."

Dhiren wasn't much to call someone a liar, but he could tell that something was bothering her. He didn't press it anyways, it wasn't his business. He was there, to hopefully, make her feel better. Though something told Dhiren that it would be harder than he had originally thought. He gave an awkward smile at her. "I'm kinda new here" he started. "I'm Dhiren." He added and smiled at her. He was always happy, so it was never hard to try to be a little goofy for him.
"I think this land is amazing." he went on, he did ramble a bit. Perhaps too much, especially for someone that he just met. " It's also a very lovely day out, don't you think?" He continued to have a funny grin upon his face.

"Are you? I'm not from here, either, although I'm not really new..." Her speech was somewhat halting, and her smile timid. She was quite a shy little lioness, especially around those she'd never met, but she was a bit better than she had been once. It didn't take her nearly as long to find responses, didn't spend so much time agonizing over what to say and how to say it. "I'm Tek."
"It is nice," she agreed, glancing away to look when he pointed it out. She barely noticed the goofy look he was wearing, as she was too focused on having to hold a conversation. Properly. "The weather's been good."

Dhiren hadn't noticed her shyness as much. He just figured it was because she was upset. She'd come around, he just knew it. He was happy to see a bit of a smile on her, even if it wasn't very much. "Nice to meet you, Tek." Strange name it was, but it was a name none the less. It always made him feel better when he heard another's name. It meant that they were friendly... Or at least, that's what he assumed.
"I once found a giant bug here, not sure what it was..." He started on "But it was huge... It pinched me though." He said with a small chuckle. "Not a friendly little guy." He continued. "But I suppose I wouldn't be very friendly either if I was being poked by something ten times my size, no?" He said with another chuckle. Silly bugs, they always got the best of him. The ones that pinched and stung were the worst, but he still couldn't help himself with getting too close.

"It's nice to meet you, too." The brown lioness gave a slight nod of her head, her tail flicking around her back paws. She did like to have company, it was just so...nerve-wracking sometimes! But Dhiren seemed nice enough, and evidently he did want to talk to her, since he continued to put in the effort to do so.
"A giant bug? What did it look like?" Tek twitched her ears forward, curious, and chuckled a little as he continued. "No, I don't think I would be very friendly, either."

He didn't know how to describe it really. "It was black, and it had hard shell that split down the middle, covering some wings." He thought hard, wrinkling his face a bit. Yeah, that was all he could remember. He had accidentally hit it against a rock when it pinched him, yet it still lived... he thought he had hit it pretty hard, but he supposed it was one tough little bug. He didn't mention that to her though. "Ever seen something like that?" He asked.
"I've been calling it a Pincher-snap" it was a fitting name for it. He wondered if he could find someone who knew what everyone called it though. Pincher-snap didn't sound too official about it. "It wasn't very fast, and I found it on a rock." He thought perhaps that might add more detail that'd help if she had seen one before. "Do you like bugs?"

"I have..." Tek made a thoughtful 'hmm' sound, her tail swaying a little more while she visualized what he spoke of. "It sounds like some kind of beetle. Did it have a horn, like a little rhinoceros, or no?"
He had now successfully and effectively distracted her, by giving her something else to think about. "Like them? Not especially, I just...I see them. Around. And my son used to catch them sometimes, when he was little."

He couldn't remember if he had seen a rhinoceros before or not, so he couldn't confirm or deny it. Though he was sure that they were talking about the same bug, as it did have some type of weird horn on it. He gave a silly nod. "Yes, I think that's it." Beetle.... He had heard the term before, but didn't think it was really what they were called, he liked his name for them better. He flicked his tail and thought about it for a second, and only a second.
"You have kids?!" He said happily. "Kids are great, cute little bundles of joy." He added. "Though, bugs are good too, I find them very interesting." he said trying not to get too far off subject. "I don't have kids." He added. It seemed he was trying to have two different conversations at one. Though, he didn't notice at all.

"I, well, just one," she answered, looking down at her forepaws and shuffling them a little. "Akairo. He's grown now, though, not so little anymore. Bigger than me." He was very definitely a grown lion, and had been for awhile - he'd even fought the hyenas, and he had scars. And that had been very distressing.
"I do like kids. More than bugs, they're...cuter." They were odd conversations to try to reconcile and merge with each other.

"And friendlier." He added with a nod. "One is a good number, easy to take care of." He said with a nod. "I have a sister, twin sister." He said with another nod. " We're the only ones my mother had." Not the same as just one, but it was a low number. His mother had some trouble with them both, but he tried to help out when he could. Of course, there wasn't much one could do when young.
"Bugs are interesting, because they help the world we live in, even though they're super tiny." he said with a nod. He had a theory that everything had a purpose for the land that they lived in to thrive. Be it from life, or death, though he didn't want to bore this lioness of that. "Do you have siblings?"

"Sometimes they bite, too, though," Tek contributed with a small smile. "A twin, really? That's lucky. You'll always have someone there, if you need them."
"Me? Oh, no. I was an only child." And that seemed like a very, very long time ago. She fidgeted a bit again, ears flicking with slight unease. Family was, well. A bit of a sensitive subject. Why had she started it? Bugs had been better, more neutral. "But bugs are interesting, yes. Even if they are annoying sometimes."

"Well, she's not here." He said, slightly sad. He had intended to go back and find her, but things happened.. He knew she was well, at least he thought he could feel she was well. "She's doing her own thing, finding her own place." He said with a smile. "And kids bite?" he didn't know this... He didn't believe he bit his mom.. Then again, he couldn't remember that far.
Annoying... bugs? Okay... yeah, sometimes they were, but he over looked the annoying part. "Only flies..." He decide... "And fleas" He added. He hated those... They made him itch, he hated being itchy. "But other ones are interesting... until they hurt you, then they're just mean." He said again with a nod. He noted every bug that had hurt him, and stayed away from that type of bug when he saw them next.
He didn't know how much more he could say about bugs unless he saw new one then. He looked about, trying to find something to talk about. Though, he didn't know if he was making her feel better or not. She seemed alright, maybe it worked. "Did I interrupt anything?" He asked. The thought hadn't crossed his mind until now. Maybe she had to be somewhere? He'd hate for her to be late because of him.

"Is she? That's..." Sad, was the first thing that came to mind, but was that alright to say? Probably not. "That's good, that she's doing that."
"They do, they sort of...chew a little. Playing and teething and that kind of thing." Cub teeth were rather sharp little things, and she didn't miss that part of being a mother. Even if it was a strange feeling, to look at your child and see an adult standing there.
"Interrupt? Not really, but I should...probably see if there's a hunt, or something." Company was nice, but it was also awkward.
