It would be in the rather early hours of the morning that a rather strange little bug would be found flickering on the doorways of three individuals. The summons was rather simple, however. The Summons Come down to the School Greenhouse. Dress in something you don't mind seeing get a bit dirty. Expect to get dirty. That was all.
Upon arriving to the greenhouse, Cricket would be found in a sectioned off doorway that had read nothing but "STAY OUT" for the last handful of years. The Nurse beckoned the three students in, revealing a rather quaint back room with several trays of soil - three to be exact - that were sectioned off into 3x4 squares. As well as these trays, a few steps of growing plants lined the walls, growing in various stages of exotic curiosities, as well as a row of growing pumpkins - they looked rather sad, to be honest.
Each tray had a name tag on it:
MALODORE
JOVE
ASTRA
"It is time to learn something that will come to be a rather useful skill if you find time to either settle down, or need to learn to do it on the run.
You will all be growing your own garden for medicinal plants." Note from Pachu After I get the intro in + the mechanics up, this will be fairly self-run by you guys, since I know you all aren't on the same schedule of time/ there are busy busy people. <33

There was a scurrying noise outside her door room, and it roused Astra from her slumber. Blearily she looked at the time on her alarm clock. It was way to early to be up, but she dragon herself out of bed and drowsily opened her door, pausing to look at the bug that was trying to get her attention.
And it had her full attention once she read the summons.
In a matter of minutes, the fairy managed to throw on some old looking clothes, and flew down to the school greenhouse. It had been quite some time since she had ventured into the greenhouse, and she was only to excited to go in again.
As she entered, she quickly saw Nurse Cricket, growing more excited as she was beckoned into a out of bounds area, and placed herself in front of the tray with her name on it.
What Cricket said next though, had her eyes Widening in anticipation.

Malodore had been delighted to receive the summons, and even moreso to see their chosen location. It had learned very little of herbal and plant-based medicines, a lack which its conversation with Calder had recently highlighted. Perhaps this was what they were to learn...
... either that, or Steve needed tending.
Keeping its claws crossed, at least metaphorically, the plague doctor arrived at the greenhouse at the appointed time, approaching the formerly restricted area with a sense of mingled excitement and apprehension. When it saw Cricket and not Steve, though, all that fear melted away. "Buon giorno, Infermeria," it greeted her with a bow, moving to take its place behind its marked tray. Oh, it was excited. Very excited. Not that you could tell, really, but it was.

It had taken a bit of coaxing, but once Jove had freed the insect-courier from the grip of a very happy foxfire, he had scurried about the room in search of something... not fancy. Which was hard to do for the pup. As he lacked suitable casual, or even grungy, clothing, he had to settle for a white shirt with only a few ruffles at the cuffs, and shorts. Barefoot was a given if he was getting dirty.
He was wary as he entered the greenhouse, a place he had never been in before, but the smell of earth and moisture and growing things had his tail wagging. The pup trotted over to his tray, pouring over it with boundless curiosity as he stood between Astra and the vet-in-training, Malodore. A... garden? Growing things of his own?
Jove looked around at the leafy things and wondered if it would be like growing mushrooms. He had a natural affinity for the fungi, but it had honestly not occurred to him to cultivate plants before!

"Excellent to see you all made it." Cricket said calmly, seeming to take another look around the room to see if she'd forgotten to do anything. Plants were labelled, miniature 'gardens' were set aside for her students... well, that mostly only left her in need to give some instructions.
"To keep from making anything too complicated right off the bat, your first gardens will be mostly simple. I've marked a few basic plants in here that you may take a branch or stalk off of to cultivate for your own use for the time being. Should any of you be interested in further cultivating other plants, I will make more of my garden accessible at that time."
"You may take twelve plants." she didn't have enough fingers to actually gesture 'twelve' with them, so she didn't even attempt it. "Since you are not getting seedlings, however, you will have to put in a bit more effort to cultivate your garden. This means checking in on it at least twice a day and making notes of how it is coming along. I do not expect any of you to immediately be planting everything you want today. If you feel the need to, you may do as you please with the space I have in here. This means you may get twelve smaller containers and get your own soil if you feel the need to, and move your plants to various places in the room, or even the other rooms of the greenhouse. But if you do, make sure you carefully label your plants as yours. The minimum, really, is that you know things are labelled as yours so that I can check in on them and they don't get replanted otherwise."
It seemed simple enough.
"I have clearly labelled all of my plants with basic instructions and what they are used for. The cards with the pink stickers on them are ones you may pull specimens from to replant. Take time, look to see what you prefer or will use the most effectively. I want you to start off with a week long journal of observation on your garden once you have planted it. I will be giving you all a month to get started and get your observations in to me."The Plants The plants that Cricket has stickered are: Quote: AloeUsed to help treat burns, wounds, and skin ailments Quote: Bilberry Used to treat diarrhea, scurvy, and a handful of other conditions Quote: Chamomille Treats sleeplessness, anxiety, and gastrointestinal pains Quote: Cranberry Helps to treat various urinary disorders, liver problems, stomach ailments Quote: Elderberry berries and leaves both used to treat pain, swelling, infection, coughs, skin conditions, flu, common cold, fever, and sinus infections Quote: Evening Primrose Helps with Eczema and anti-inflammatory Quote: Fenugreek Helps with loss of appetite Quote: Feverfew Lowers fevers, headaches, stomach aches, toothaches and insect bites Quote: Gingko treat asthma, bronchitis, fatigue, and tinnitus Quote: Licorice treats stomach ulcers, sore throat, and infections Quote: Peppermint Treats Nausea, indigestion, and common cold Quote: Valerian Helps with Respiratory problems and sleep disorders Quote: Papaya Used for treating wounds Quote: Neem Treats worms, malaria, rheumatism, and skin infections Quote: Noni joint pain and skin conditions Quote: Goldenseal Skin diseases, ulcers, and respiratory tract treatment. Quote: Eucalyptus Antipyretic, analgesic Instructions! All I need you lovely people to do is make a 'Journal' (whether it is in this thread or your own Solo thread), list what plants your student is planting, and a journal of their 'caring' for them. Be specific, and make sure I know exactly where your plants are. If they're in the grid still, what is planted next to which? This is all important! You have until the first day of October to get this done and post the link to it in Cricket's Office! Something interesting might happen to certain gardens based on how they're cared for. Pach's Note Sorry this took so long to get up! RL tried to kick my a**! sad (

Astra listened intently to Nurse Crickets instructions, her gaze travelling from the teacher to the plants i¬n question, feelers twitching in nervous excitement. She could identify some of the plants here, knowing them as her father had used them before in various potions. But others she had no idea. But it was a exiting prospect all the same; to make a garden with healing plants. And what would they get to do with it once they were done? Use them in healing potions and spells? She could hardly sit still.
It took a lot of self control on her part not to fly around and grab all the plants she could, and instead walk towards the plants with Crickets pink sticker on them. She hovered over each of them, reading their properties and thinking about which plant she would like to use in her own garden. This took some time though, as she realized each plant cured something different, while other plants had multiple purposes. Some of them even overlapped; she could see a few plants dealt with fever and stomach problems, amongst other things.
The fairy furred frowned in concentration as she tried to think up which ones to take. Then after a while, she gently took a small stalk off two plants. Just two for now, she would come back to find more. But it was a start.
