The small dragon shifted slowly, her body blending lightly into the darkness of the rocks and caves. Despite her coloration causing her scales to sparkle lightly like the stars while the moon shined down at her, the female didn't halter. Anyone who paid close enough attention to the moving figure would be able to see the shimmering coat, the slight cloth that always remained around her eyes. Her tail gave a gentle flick, as she landed carefully down onto the ground at the base of the mountain that she called home. She had heard rumors of a dragon meeting coming. A meeting to ensure that they stayed safe, alive. She had heard rumor of them pairing dragons off to mate, to ensure they survived the onslaught of the humans. As soon as she was within the ring of all mountains, she shifted, turning into her human form. She was small, roughly five foot five. Her long tail still very much so in tact, the fluffy end shifting, matching her short, somewhat curly, gray/silver hair. Her skin was dark, and she still held the claws on her fingers that her dragon form held. Her horns stuck from her hair, and the long black cloth that hid her eyes stayed in tact. She shifted, pulling the soft silk cloth that usually covered her up a bit more, ensuring she was in fact covered. Bracelets and anklets covered her wrists and hands, as well as her feet. She was a stunning little female, and she didn't even know it. She walked forward slowly, listening as other dragons began to make their appearance.
Large wings were tucked against the iridescent body of a large reptilian creature, so pure and white and shining that the body seemed to glow in the darkness. This was the very reason the dragon was not flying, because he was so damned easy to spot. In fact, he hardly every flew, though his wings were unharmed and certainly large enough to carry him, but with his coloration her was just too easy of a target. At least walking, he couldn't be shot down or pelted with arrows. That, and with his extremely large size he could cover ground quickly or overtake any opponents. Though being on the ground, he made it to the cave in short time. It was mostly by accident that he had even heard about the meeting. He had overheard some dragons talking as he passed them over a month ago, and stopped long enough to question them, as he usually avoided be seen or seeing anyone else - not that he didn't like people he just was very....cautious, sometimes. Even in human form he couldn't blend in with other villagers like most other dragons could. As he stepped towards the cave he shifted in to a rather tall male, approximately 6'7" with white bangs and hair framing his similarly pale face. Much of his skin resembled his scale, for it also had the same opalescent tint to it that his scales had, while his antler like horns rose from his scalp. A simple pale blue cloth hung from his hips, allowing the broad muscles of his chest and stomach to remain in sight. The other dragons seemed to be dazzled by him and his usual brightness as he entered, only to realize who he was and thus be ignored again.
Artemis waited as patiently as she could. In all honesty, she hated being around so many people at one time. It was nerve wrecking. She would much rather be in her home, tucked away in the caves, until she needed food. Even hunting was a chore for her, being sightless. She had to go by the slight vibrations of the ground, the sound of the cows or sheep. The taste of their sweat on her tongue. It took all she had not to just keep herself away from others. But this meeting was needed, as the little dragon who gave the message to her months ago had said. She sighed, letting her head tilt down slightly so that she could hear better. One after the other, dragons arrived, whispering in hushed tones. Those who didn't have mates. Those were the people that stayed here. All else were unneeded. The Elder dragon started to talk quickly, announcing what was going on. He explained how many dragons were dying, due to humans. That even flying was dangerous for some, if not all. He spoke of needing to repopulate, and based off strengths and weaknesses, he would be paring dragons up in order to achieve what was needed for their survival.
Mating? Children? Breeding? Oh, this was not good. Nooot good. Niall crossed his arms over his chest. Maybe he should leave. Maybe he should just turn around and- "Niall" He looked up and his golden eyes widened. 'oh s**t' "You're with.....Artemis" Niall's eyebrows drew together and he looked around for the female, "Who...?"
Artemis sighed some, her head tilting to the side. No, this wasn't good at all. She really didn't want to have to be around another dragon for a long amount of time. Last she tried, they babied her, made her feel incompatant. Her head tilted up, before tilting her head toward the sounds of the other dragons. Everyone was talking so loudly, and it was starting to highly hurt. She frowned a bit, before hearing her name. Her head tilted up, before she started to slowly take a couple steps forward, toward the elder's voice. ".... I am here..." She said, her voice soft, almost musical sounding.
Niall turned around and stared at the female, "Oh um, I guess...." She was stunning, she was, But Niall wasn't really good with people. "You two may leave now" The Elder said, ushering the two away with a wave. Niall nodding, not wanting to stay a minute longer, and took her hand with him outside. "I'm Niall, if you haven't heard. You're Artemis then?"
Artemis frowned, her head tilting, listening carefully, as best as she could. She could hear the murmur from some dragons, saying that no matter what, children of theirs would not be of the best nature. Some whispered how any child would be amazingly stunning, strong. She felt a hand move into her own, and tilted her head, before being pulled out and away from the other dragons. She nodded slowly. "I am... Artemis Dorehmont. Niall... Your name sounds familiar." She breathed in, memorizing his smell. She would have to soon anyways, if she was supposed to stay around the male dragon.
Niall turned to look at her and gave her a quizzical look, "Familiar? How? I usually don't...talk to many people so I wouldn't know how it would have gotten to you..." He had mostly ignored the talk of the other dragons, as it really wasn't any of their business. "So....I guess we'll be together for awhile now huh? Um....where are you staying? Unless you want to stay at my...or well...I'll just stop talking now"
Artemis tilted her head, listening to him. She sighed some, pushing some hair away from her face, her dark skin kind of glinting in the light. "I heard from some of the others when they located me. Some said you were one of the most handsome dragons they've ever seen." She shrugged her shoulders, before moving forward slowly, her tail swaying a bit. "My cave is small, it barely holds me in dragon form." She paused, tilting her head back toward him. "So I suppose yours would be best, if you don't mind."
"...Oh" He stumbled over himself for a bit but then smiled brightly and laughed, "Well I guess you wouldn't know, huh?" He stopped himself and then stumbled again, "You are blind, right?" He nodded to himself as if confirming it before she did, "But yes, my place is a bit bigger than most, I'd suppose. The only rule is you can't go in in dragon form. It would make it messy." He said with a small 'tut'. He looked at her and smiled again, "You have very beautiful skin, by the way."
