Siegell's Mercenaries; no matter what is said about them, it's quite clear that this group and it's skillful leader are known all over the continent. An other-worlder himself, Siegell first appeared in Learania but then left and went to Mordache, where he made himself at home under the graciousness of the Baroness, who was quite interested in the services he could offer. Since then, he established his group and undertook many jobs for the well-paying Baroness, such as the genocide in Adliana. She also helped set him up with a fort for his group, as well as anything else he needed, for extra measure in keeping his alignment with her.

However, over time, the members on his team dwindled and Siegell found himself in need of new blood. News was sent out all across Mordache and Baroness Charolais contributed a few bodies as well. All those interested (or in some cases forced) gathered at the designated arena. Determining which ones would end up as members was easy. All the combatants would be thrown into an all out free-for-all. Those last few survivors, the strongest of all those entering, would land themselves a spot on Siegell's team. And by doing it this way, both Siegell and the Baroness could have some entertainment for once...

  • This is a free-for-all arena style match for people who wish to have a character join Siegell's mercenaries.
  • If you wish to create a new character for this, please fill out this form and PM it to Fefga.
  • Making a new character for this counts as your 'personal NPC'.
  • Please keep in mind that if your character makes the team, the character will be becoming an antagonist for the next main RP event.
  • This is not being done the way Not-so-Natural Selection was.

As the contestants were put into place, the gates of the arena slowly opened, one combatant coming forth from each opening. The arena itself was wide open with a dirt floor, a few old broken pillars scattered about being all that broke off the emptiness. The stands above the arena were empty, save for a few select spectators of the Baroness' own selection, who were requested to come and see how well each combatant was. The Baroness herself sat in a special seat accompanied by Siegell to the left of her. It was time for the fight to begin.

Ebenezer hobbled out into the dirt. He looked around slowly and blinked his lifeless eyes. "...This doesn't look like any restroom I've ever seen. Rotten burn-faced kid, baaaah!" he grumbled in his gross, old man voice. He then began to walk aimlessly around.

Stumbling out from his entrance, Ezekiel took a swig from the bottle of booze in his hand and then glared around the arena. A contented grin crept upon his face, his head swirling with ideas of regaining everything he'd lost. All he had to do was kill a few weaklings; and he would start with the weakest of the weak. His eyes fixed on two older men and four women- old people and women were always the weakest ones. The smallest little blonde mage looked to be the weakest out of them all. She would make a good start. Not wasting any time, he raised up his crossbow, took aim at the girl and fired.

Father Willbert timidly stepped forward. At seeing the fighters come in, he tried to turn about and flee, but a pair of soldiers tossed him forward. After getting back on his feet, he saw that to his dismay the gate had closed behind him. He was trapped in hell with nothing but a mend staff. It was obvious he wasn't wanted to survive this- it was his death sentence. "Paggy... I don't know why... why my pleas have gone unanswered, but... if there's a reason I'm here... please, show me..."

A breeze swept through the arena, and the ominous cow suit went aloft, landing over Father Willbert's body. "W-what is this!? Ahhhhh!" The poor bishop than began to run blindly around the arena.

Suddenly, a different type of opponent barged into the arena, one that was put there to add an extra bit of entertainment for the Baroness. The giant Bael spider crept into the arena and hissed loudly at the people. It charged forth at the closest one to it, the unfortunate tan-skinned man with white hair.

At first, when Cruella entered, she groaned as she sat lazily on her pegasus. When the spider came in, she stared at it with open jaw. "...s**t." At that moment, she had no intention of staying on the ground and thus took off, flying around in circles about the arena area. She had an advantage that nobody else had and she would make use of it. She would stay in the air until she could swoop down and pick people off.

As the spider burst in, Kayon's large eyes got even larger. "WHOA MN YUR SEE ZAT MN I GO IN DRI N' BLA KURR RO N' MN DANG GUN IT MN WHOA!" He stared at it for a moment. "...Dang mn."

Jekyll instantly turned his piercing psychotic gaze over to the Bael when it entered. When he saw it, his grin grew ten sizes that day. "Heheheheheh, yeah yeah yeah! Heheeh kill it, yeah! Hehehehehhehehehe!!" He darted into action, knives at the ready, ready to take on the Mordachean swamp monster.

Shaking from head to toe, the Wolfman was excited to be let out again. As he looked around, he grinded his teeth, barely holding back his primal instincts. His masters had put him through rigorous treatment to get him to be tamed.. and it had only slightly worked. When he saw the Bael spider, memories from back in the swamp flooded his head; Bael spiders were his enemy. When they wandered down from the mountains, he and the other mauth doogs would tear them to pieces for stepping into their territory. Full of rage, the Wolfman shifted into beast form, howled, and ran for the spider as well.

Oh goodie goodie goodie goodie. Who to play? Who to play? Lilith thought cheerfully as she entered the arena. Her bow tucked snugly around her small-framed chest with her quiver securely behind her lower back. Her axe was dragged as if it was a ragged doll as she looked around, searching to see who would be her playmate.

It was nice of the masked man to let her in, informing her that she could play in his playground with people who wanted to play too. It had been a while since she had a playmate. Whatever happened to her last playmate. She had no idea, but she was upset that her previous was no longer able to play with her. But now that she was in the playground full of playmates, she was really happy. What more was that she may get a reward from Papa Mask if she played so well with the playmates. Yay! Cookie for the win!

The young warrior looked on her left side to see who entered. Next to her was an old man... He sure looked dead by that expression he had. Grandpa needed a nap. Next to grandpa was a bo-... gi-... an odd looking cousin. Cousin's right arm was covered with spots. Was cousin trying to be some spotted animal? What sort of costume cousin was wearing? It was too early to dress for costume. After cousin was Oh my god! A giant spider! I wanna ride! I wanna ride! I wanna ride! She could see that Big Nose man wanted to ride the spider too and OMG! IT'S A DOGGIE! SOCUTEWANNACUDDLEITSOADORABLEWANNAPETITSOFLUFFYWANNAHUGITSOAWESOMEWANNAOWNIT! FAKDGHLASDKAHFGODHGSA!

"PUPPY!" Lilith cried out excitedly as she ran toward the doggy, arms wide opened with her axe in one hand. How lucky of her to see puppy in the playground. She was going to name it Poofy. Papa Mask had made her day happy. Best. Day. Ever.

"What kind of mess have I gotten myself into this time," Kione sighed as he stepped out into the arena. This surely was not the situation he expected to have ended up in after he ran away from Arajudia. Taking a couple steps in, the scholar quickly scanned the arena for any incoming danger as he held out the tome as a precaution.

Good, no one seemed to have targeted him right away as he noticed other participants already clashed in combat. A sniper had already taken aim at a girl, a...a cow suit? Kione blinked a few times at the sight he was seeing but shrugged it off as he continued to scan the rest of the arena. A Bael was also in the arena and was already the target for a couple combatants. Kione did not expect to see a Bael outside of Magvel and in this ne-his train of thought was suddenly stopped as the word Puppy suddenly echoed throughout the arena. He then just saw a happy girl running towards the wolf with an axe in her hand. The scholar wasn't sure to feel bad the girl was in here or to feel pity for the wolf, but he shrugged off the situation to turn back to the matter at hand.

Think. Think. Think. What was the best situation for him to survive this arena. The scholar quickly ran through many ideas and soon settled on an idea that could work to his liking. But he needed a couple things in order for this plan to actual work. The scholar the noticed a warrior not too far but close enough for him to be able to communicate with. She didn't seem as deranged as some of the people he's already noticed in the arena and seemed to be ideal for his plan. As he walked over towards her he switched to his summoning tome and kept it in his hands just incase things go awry. Soon, he stopped at a good distance away from the lady just incase she tried to charge him.

"Hey!" he called out to the dark skinned lance wielder. He paused for a moment as he felt like he needed to choose his words wisely. "We both want to get out of this arena alive right? Let's talk for a moment as I have a proposal. One person can easily increase the odds of their survival and victory by simply having other people to back them up and cover their backs. So let me cut to the chase. How about we team up?" He stood there waiting for a response from the halberdier as he held his summoning tome unopened in his hand. If she refused, he'd have a response ready.

"Alright...Equipment is doubled checked, the area's been surveyed from behind the gates..." Leonardo muttered to himself as he went down a mental checklist, scanning the combatants around him. The majority certainly seemed to be what he had been expecting: Unkept, rather insane, and down right dangerous degenerates. A handful had a wave of desperation around them, something that could work for and against him. While it would make for some absolutely suicidal and low-down decisions from them, it also clouded their judgement...Something he could definitely take advantage of. A few things left unanswered bothered him, however. In his quick glance around, he could not ignore the fact that some seemingly-innocents littered the arena. Two young ladies and a priest...Probably another one of the Honorable Baroness' games. Though out here...You could never be too careful. They were here for a reason, judging by the weapons at their side.

Honestly, the universe just didn't want him to think sometimes! The gate next to him opened, revealing another of the fun games for them to partake in: Dodge the deadly spider! What a generous host she seemed now that it was coming for him first off. Truly, this was a grand event. 'Alright, time to knock back the sarcasm. I definitely do not want to be even scratched by that thing. Poison is not my friend here." Thankfully, the other fighters seemed more than willing to take at the Bael, something he was not about to complain about. All it took was some good ol' fashioned footwork to duck and weave out, leaving the Bael to be intercepted by the incoming pile of fur and pile of damn crazy. Get caught by one of those "claws" and not only do you have one hell of a serum running through your body, but the damn thing would attempt to take a bite out of you! The claws were potent enough, thank you for much!

Okay, tuck and roll out of the way! Let its attention turn to the two nutjobs behind it...This is a fight best left to them. Only attack when you have an opening...There. Its back had been turned, its attention grabbed by the two approaching with bloodlust in their eyes. It almost seemed like a golden arch, leading to that special little sweetspot. Withdrawing his blade from the attachment on his arm, Leonardo leapt and firmly planted himself on top of the creature. Immediately it shook, tossing and turning to ply him off from his back. It was almost worth it just for how open it left itself to the pair of crazies, but falling off meant being in a situation that he was NOT looking forward to. "I just wanted to dance." He replied casually, thrusting his kard into the "fur" of the creature. It dug in, making a clean pierce as Leonardo grabbed a tuft of hair...

And held on for dear life. "Let me tell you a tale kiddos. The one's that go after the seemingly weakest...Are usually the ones easiest to scare. Cowards really. And I don't appreciate you going after the young ones. So this is going to be fun." Leonardo dug in his blade, kicking the Bael's side to urge it forward and straight into the path of Ezekiel. Professional was one thing, being an entertainer was another. Both were all apart of the job, especially something like this. Now raise your arms into the sky and say it with me ladies and gentlemen.

"Yippe.
Ki.
Yay."

So it had come to this.

Blake was wondering what would become of him after becoming arrested in Mordache after being accused of a spy from Estarcia (******** that place, really. All those shitty nobles could go ******** their pegasi for all he cared), but now seeing the scene before him, it became pretty evident that this would become a bloodbath really quickly.

There were a few interesting individuals on the dirt arena with him, the most noticeable included the drunken failure of a soldier, Ebenezer (Scrooge) from Estarcia, the Wolfman (that transformation was unbelievable. Was he one of those subhuman creatures he had heard about, the Laguz?), the Bael spider which everyone pretty much went for, and (he paused here, possibly out of minor disbelief) an animated cow... suit? No wait, it looked like it was just on that stupid priest's head. Maybe not animated.

This was hardly the place for it, but some of them definitely needed to be dissected to further his research.

In his normal hand Blake opened the Flux tome, and, after backing up towards one of the fallen pillars, quickly scanned the area. Most of the people were too focused on the Bael to really pay attention to him, so he could probably start there after layering a few Fluxes to exponentially increase the damage. There were only a handful of ranged fighters, so maybe a few Flux mines around him. Then there was the b***h on her mount looking down on everyone from the skies. If she got closer to a wall, he could fire a Flux off from there. There also seemed to be a pair talking to each other (a magic user like himself and some dark-skinned woman with a lance), but he ignored it for the time being. Chances were they were trying to team up or something. He could Flux them later.

As long as there was a surface, no one could escape his Fluxes.

He raised his corroded arm towards the mass of individuals with the spider and started his chain of incantations. As each spell was enchanted, the corruption marks on his arm would glow briefly before the spell itself sunk into the ground, typical of the usual Flux spell. When the last incantation was complete, he closed his fist and uttered a single word.

"Disperse."

A large mass of Flux would erupt from the ground in the middle of the battle with the spider before detonating into smaller Fluxes in a fashion typical to a clusterbomb. While it was nothing more than a number of Flux spells layered together to make a Super Flux, the destruction should definitely catch the eyes of a number of individuals. Not just the fighters, but also the small audience they had watching this deathfest.

Let his 'Carnival of Death' begin.

We gonna take bath! Play in the field of flowers! Sleep under the stars! Oh, how EXCITING! Lilith couldn't hold her eagerness as she thought more events to do with Poofy. Surely Poofy would agree with her about all the adventures they were going to have. Oh boy! Oh joy! Oh goodie!

And what better way to start the fun than by riding on a giant spider! Whee! Sure there was a person on top of the spider and others wanted to ride too. But surely, they would let a sweet girl like herself and puppy to play. After all, who could resist her cute, adorable-

"ACK!! OOF!" Lilith screamed as she slipped on a pebble and fell flat face to the ground. "Owie..."

It hurt. It hurt. Never did she think the ground would be so rough and dirty. Papa Siggy needed to get this place clean. How could she have fun if this place was so... so...

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! Lilith screamed in horror as dark, black tentacles slowly popped out of the ground. EW! EW! EW! ICKY! SLIMY! DISGUSTING! SLUGS! EEEEEKKKK!

"Get away from me!" The small warrior cried as she quickly got up and started swinging her axe, hoping that those slimy "slugs" would go away. However, with her eyes shut tight, she didn't see where she was swinging. Left and right she wildly swung. Did she hit those slugs? Did she miss? It was hard to tell due to her wild swings, eyes close tight, and screams about how disgusting they were.

Lilith kept on swinging until she gave one big, powerful thrust in her swing, making her spin around as if she was a top. And due to her uncontrolled swing, she twirled herself toward the spider and the opponents. Those who dared stood in her way would likely get chopped.

Only one question remained... Was her attack critical or was it just a topsy-turvy normal attack?

Cruella scoffed as she watched lazily below her. Look at them go, running around like cockroaches. Well, sooner or later, she would crush them like bugs. All she had to do was wait and- Black orbs began to appear all over the field, making the falconknight shift her sitting position. She was glad she was up the air as she watched the druid cast more spells. Those orbs were like mines, ready to explode when touched. While she was safe above the field, it would make it difficult for her to take out the opponents. After all, some opponents were able to dodge and evade those orbs like that wolf-man. So should she wait for idiots to cause a chain reaction of those orbs or attack the caster who created the spell? The druid was distracted at the moment. Wait or attack? She decided to resist the temptation, for now. The fight had just begun; nobody was even dead, yet.

The Bael shrieked in both pain and anger as it was unable to remove the pesky man of its back. It bucked back and forth. The man refused to get off. It shook furiously. The man was still on its back. The knife onto its back dug deeper, creating more pain. When the Bael was steered toward the bowman, black orbs appeared out of nowhere. The fluxes erupted around it, searing pain burning its body. The man atop would have a hard time keeping put as the fluxes pushed the creature about. However, the Bael kept rushing forward, knocking over any pillars it passed by. Out of the dark magic, it continued its charge towards the sniper, letting out a horrifying hiss.

The cow suit continued "attacking" the poor bishop as the faithful man continued to run blindly.

"Hm...?" Ebenezer wearily looked towards the dark magic and scratched his head. "Bah! Kids and their drugs!" He continued walking, trying to find the toilet.

Ezekiel grinned, as he loaded another arrow, not seeing if his first one had hit. However, the sudden eruptions caused him to turn around and see that the giant Bael was headed straight for him. His eyes grew wide and he turned to run. He was not going down like this! With bottle of booze at the ready, he readied his Molotov cocktale and flung it at the Bael as he kept running.

Jekyll and the Wolfman both continued to chase after the Bael, dodging the dark magic with ease.

"Looks like I've been popular lately...Time to answer a few house calls. You've been good to me, but now it's time to be the first causality here."

He gave the Bael a rather sarcastic pat on the back, ripping the blade from the surface of its skin before leaping off from it in response to the cocktail being thrown. The momentum of the Bael's speed shot him off like a cork, descending down onto his target. Behind him the screams of his previous mount filled the air as it burst into flames, striking a rather intimating light onto the descending pugilist. "Low-life scum like you makes me absolutely sick." His blade was drawn, coming down in his backwards strike. "Let's see how well you can move." He called out as soon as he hand landed, throwing out a backhanded strike before unleashing a barrage onto the sniper. Targets are disabling his sense of balance, damage to his wrist, and another strike to the head to leave him dazed. It was a list recited as he went through each motion, dissecting the moment piece by piece. "Let's show this audience how well a cornered rat can fight! Give them something they'll remember!" Leonardo continued to spur the crowd on, trying to get them into a frenzy to add to the chaos that was happening around him. A transformed Wolfman, a dark mage without restraint, and an axe-user that had decided to abandon all sense of balance. This was already descending into a wild mess, but as long as he could keep it in his pocket, he'd be fine! ...Though there was one thing that he hadn't accounted for...The flux that had just appeared at their feet, causing him to push back as it began to dig into his skin, burning into the flesh from the unholy touch.

"Tch...! This isn't over, Sniper!" He called out, twisting himself to dodge another tentacle before landing back into position. That mage is being reckless...His tome is pretty much spent, and if he thinks he can last out with those knifes of his, he's got another thing coming. I can't be reckless about this though...Chances are, he has something to fall back on if he's willing to spend fluxes in that manner. Probably best to leave him to the heavy hitters he's most likely just provoked with that little stunt.
