A nice breeze cut across the tips of the grass and traveled through Anga's mane. It whipped his hair in front of his face and Anga spat out a few stray hairs that found their way into his mouth. A few good shakes got his mane under control. He glanced over to Baridi. Hopefully, she didn't just witness Anga's little episode. He glared at the wind, which, had him looking agitated everywhere.

The forces of nature better not mess with him while he's fishing. Anga and Baridi have been walking for awhile to get back to Anga's lake. Well, it's not his lake, but it's where he called home. He fished and now it was time for him to show off his skills to Baridi.

Anga shivered in anticipation. He was excited as a new born cub. While traveling through the rogue lands (since he can't stay still for very long), he met Baridi and they hit it off very well. She agreed to follow Anga to the lake. Maybe she'll stay after she sees how cool it is.

Anga ran the last couple steps to the edge of the lake and turned to Baridi. "Alright! Time to get my fish on! Just wait right here and I'll be back in a sec." Anga paused. Maybe she didn't want to wait around? He shrugged. "Or, you can come with me. I'm down for whatever." He grinned at her.

Baridi had, indeed, witnessed Anga's little episode. She hid her smile, though, ducking her head as her companion glared angrily in the direction of...well, everywhere. He was so funny without realizing it! But she doubted he'd enjoy being laughed at, even though she certainly wouldn't mean it in a malicious way. He didn't seem the type to take things like that lightly. While he was very silly and kind of cute, he obviously thought he was hot stuff and getting his mane in his mouth was decidedly not.

"Oh, it's beautiful," she said as they rounded a large bunch of trees that hid Anga's lake. It was decently sized - more a large pond, really - and probably teeming with fish. She glanced over at Anga as he dashed off to the water, leaving her behind. She tilted her head just a bit as she spoke and trotted forward to join him. "I'd like to watch if it's all the same to you," she said as she stepped into the cool water. "Ah...it's nice and cool. I'll wait to go in until you've caught your fish, though. I wouldn't want to scare them off."

Anga nodded. Yeah, it would be best if she remained on the bank at first. Plus, if he messed up, at least he'd be under the water and she couldn't see him. Not that he was going to mess up, just in case. It's always good to be prepared. Anga's first attempt at fishing didn't go so hot. At least he caught something, though in pieces. No need to re-live that experience.

Anga took a couple tentative steps deeper into the water. He needed to be stealthy in order to get to the fish. No need to scare them off. A couple good strides submerged his whole body in and soon he was swimming. He glanced back towards Baridi before taking a deep breath and dived. He really was lucky that she decided to come with him. He'll need to catch something quick in order to impress her. Also, he couldn't hold his breath that long. At least, not yet.

He gave a good powerful kick with his back legs. They propelled him towards a rock outcrop. The boulders and pebbles provided a great home for fish. Something Anga hasn't missed. He swam closer and his eyes caught a glimpse of a school. He studied their swimming patterns for a bit before kicking back up to the surface. When his head broke the surface he shouted, "Found some!" Then he took another deep breath before re-entering.

Baridi got comfortable on the edge of the lake and watched as the dark lion waded into the water. She wasn't very good at fishing, so perhaps watching Anga would be able to teach her a thing or two. As he dunked under, though, she glanced away, interest lost for the moment. She was far more interested in her surroundings. They were nice and lush and if this was where Anga's pride ways, maybe she'd stick around for a bit.

Looking back at the lake as Anga broke the surface of the water, she smiled slightly and gave a soft 'woohoo!'. Once he plunged back under she got to her feet, wading into the water just a bit to try to spot the male. It was difficult, though, since the water was moving and he was colored like the shadows made by the trees and rocks.

As she waited a few fish swam by her paws. She didn't notice them, though, too intent on trying to watch Anga. They were tiny fish, anyway, hardly worth the time and effort to catch. Hopefully the ones Anga was hunting were big enough for a few bites.

He drifted down, deeper towards the little holes the fish seemed to congregate by. The little experience he had fishing didn't really amount to anything, so he'll just have to wing it. There's no way he was going to come back with out something. That would be too embarrassing. So, Anga scanned the area and studied the fish trying to formulate a plan. The trees around the edge of the lake cast long shadows across the water, which touched the sandy bottom below. Anga wasn't fast enough to swim after the fish himself, so he'll have to use his pelt to his advantage.

He calmly drifted back for air before swimming towards the shadows. Once his body was consumed, he redirected himself towards dinner. The fish darted amongst themselves, too distracted to notice a beast stalking forward. With any luck, he'll catch something. He pointed his body towards the thickest part of the school before kicking off the sandy bottom straight through them. His mouth flared open and clamped shut, trapping a few inside his mouth and tangling others in his teeth. He swam back towards the shore, grin through gills at his success.

He padded up to Baridi and dumped his catch in the grass. Only a few fish feel apart as they crashed towards the ground. Others had holes, but all in all, they were mostly in tacked. He glanced over and couldn't help feel pride as he showed off his skills. "There you go! Go a head and pick one first."

Baridi's ears perked up as Anga broke the surface of the water, but he slipped back under and disappeared once more. Just getting some air it seemed. She got to her feet and waded into the water, trying to spot the lion under there somewhere. No luck. It wasn't until he broke through the surface once more, a mouthful of fish in his possession.

"Whoa!" Baridi said with a laugh, backing up as the larger feline made his way out of the water and deposited his catch at her feet. "You really are a great fisher! I only catch one at a time when I try." She inspected the fish before selecting one without any holes, still flopping around on the ground.

"Thank you," she said with a smile as she put her paw on her dinner. "Now you pick one." It was his catch after all. He deserved a nice big fish, too!
