 The sun broke over the eastern horizon. The beams of light spread across the land and into a cave hidden by a gushing waterfall, which happen to awaken a certain Phox. Tatsuya stretched and used the path off to the side to exit his cave. He took in a deep breathe and little wisps of wind circled his feet and he darted of to find his next meal.

Layla hummed to himself, nestled against a root at the bottom of an old tree in the forest about half a mile away from the waterfall. He hummed a familiar sounding song, something like "the hills are alive...". Around him float two little blue birds, singing sweetly and adding to his song. He smiles up at them, his blue eyes catching the light and glittering. He shakes his head a bit, the leaves rustling and adding more music to his song.

Tatsuya arrived in a forest. He knew it was a Haven for deer. He kept his senses sharp, ears twitching at every bird chirp. The gold phox stalked in the grass but didn't find much. A rabbit that was a female and bearing children and nesting bird. He only ate certain things...
With a sigh he made his way the a stream and took a drink. Not even the fish were out today. Then a light tune hit his ears. It was rather pleasant. After he finished his drink he went to investigate.

Layla rose up and began to walk around the tree, his sweet song being sung louder and louder into nature. Soon other creatures were coming forth to join his sound, other song birds, crickets, and even a bunny that beat its foot on an old hollowed log adding a drum beat. They hummed the notes clearly and then reached the end of the song, all was silent but Layla's last note before he let it fall with a sigh and a smile. He turned to thank his other animal friends for joining in the song only to discover that they'd left already. He turned away, a frown beginning to draw upon his soft face when a rustle in the bushes nearby caught his ears. His tail shot up and his ears swiveled in alertness. The blue birds that always surrounded him flew up into the foliage of the tree in which they were under to hide. "Who goes there?!" He called out, his voice clear but slightly shaken.

Tatsuya was croutched low to the ground, he was going to pounce the Deer in front of him... yet it just spoke. How could he eat something that talked!? He rose from his spoke. "I am. Though you were about to be my next meal, it seems you can talk." He flicked his tail and the wind around his feet dispersed. "But do not worry... I have no intention on eating you." He was slightly grumpy. He would have to look for something else to eat now.

Layla jumped back lightly upon his feet when the deep voice spoke to him, especially about the part of being his next meal. His fight or flight instincts were beginning to kick in and he wasn't sure which one was going to win until the dragon continued. Although grumpy, the dragon was absolutely stunning. A brilliant gold color, with wind swirling around his feet, three horns upon his head and his eyes a stunning gold color like the rest of him. "Well... If you're hungry... there are some good berries nearby." He looked down, pawing the ground nervously.

The other seemed nervous. He should be. Tatsuya was a predator and almost scoffed at the idea of berries. But being polite he didn't."I'm not a fan of berries. I will head to the lake and fish." He raised a brow. "I said I wasn't going to eat you. You can calm yourself... as for your friends..." He noticed two blue birds on the tree, as well as a rabbit in a bush nearby. "They are too small to make a meal."

At the mention of the birds Layla found himself holding his breath, only to release it as the dragon states that they're too small to make into a meal. He looked up at the golden dragon, "Fish could be good to I guess." Although he was an herbivore so the thought of eating another animal appalled him, he did understand that some other creatures did eat other animals. As long as his friends were safe he would not object. The two small birds nervously flitted down landing on top of Layla's antlers. He immediately felt better with them close to him.

"I never feel bad eating fish. They have a five second memory and only a natural instinct." His tail flicked at the sight of the birds. He didn't care for birds either, too feathery. A slight gurgle came from his stomach. "I don't seem to be rude, but I must get going. If you.." He eyed the birds. "and your friends... wish to join me then I do not mind." He flicked again and he started to walk away.

The dragon did have a point, the fish were not the smartest creatures in the world... but they're were beautiful either way. Then the dragon did a funny thing, he invited them with him. Layla blushed lightly looking up at the dragon before letting his head dart away again "Um..." was all his throat would manage to croak out. The birds jumped around upon the branches on Layla's head twittering back and forth showing their indecision. One of the birds twittered closer to Layla's ear as the dragon walked away with dignity and power. Layla nodded his head as the bird flew back up and silently padded after the dragon, stopping occasionally to look around before taking a few more cautious steps after him.

The deer still seemed skittish. "Nothing would dare attack you if you are in my company." The lake was now in site. "I come here often. There is an apple tree near the shore, as well as a berry bush." He flicked his tail and stretched once he reached the shore. "The tree should provide plenty of shade." He stared at the deer. He may be hungry, and it is only polite to treat a guest first. "If you need help getting the apples let me know."

He padded slowly after him listening and observing their surroundings and where the dragon gestured towards. Berries did sound nice right now... as well as some shade. He moved over towards the berry bush to grab a few nibbles as he stretched keeping his eye on the dragon. He was feeling safer in the dragon's presence but he shouldn't let his guard down yet.
After a few nibbles he moved over to the shade and laid down tucking his legs under his body to observe the dragon while he hunted. The birds nestled into the deer's antlers for a nap, fluffing themselves up and huddling together for warmth.

Seeing the deer was content, Tatsuya slipped into the lake. He sat down and waited for the fish to come to him. Once they did, he thwacked them out of the water and onto the shore. He turned his back on the deer while he ate. He was certain the other did not wish to see him eating.
Once he was finished with his meal, Tatsuya looked at his reflection and washed off the scales from his face. ”Do you swim, deer?” Perhaps it was rude calling the.other deer... But he did not know their name. He would not pry, if the deer wanted him to know their name, they would tell him.

Layla had been just drifting off to sleep himself, as much as he'd been fighting it, when the dragon addressed him. "Oh, yes, a little bit." He mumbled at the end, blushing and looking away. "Um, and my name is Layla." He whispered the last bit out of shyness and didn't even know if the dragon had heard him. He shook his head startle the birds from their slumber and they squawked upset before drifting up into the tree overhead. He rose and began to make his way to the waters edge, closing his eyes and dipping his mouth in for a drink of the cool, clear water. It was relaxing.

"Tatsuya." He eyed the other. Then staring was rude so he dove under the water and swam closer to the deer. Submerging very close. "You look a little red. Are you feeling well? Or has the sun gotten to you?" Tatsuya was rather concerned.
