Keeping a fairly brisk pace, Shun held onto the small bag of food he had picked up from town as he made his way back to the monster dorms. Though, he soon slowed down a bit as he was thinking about one thing or another, regarding Mitsu. There was a twinge of fear as he worried that she may never regain her memory. Her feelings for him. What would he do then?
He wasn't sure.
At all.
Shaking his head, he tried to shove these thoughts from his head. He'd worry about that later... The girl still needed to recover physically too anyway.

Kettil was loitering or more like he was taking a walk and trying not to cause any sort of mischief while his familiar perched on his shoulder to make sure he doesn't cause trouble - that or she just had no where she wanted to be right then either way he was now standing a near the school's gate doing a bit of a ponderous chin rub.
Did he want to go out now? Did he want to find a source of food at the restaurant?
Suddenly a figure brushed past at a brisk pace making him blink and Endzela to call in a quiet sound, "Woah hey, is there a fire?"

The sudden voice addressing him snapped Shun from his thoughts. Feeling confused for a moment, he turned to see a Reaper with his familiar standing nearby. They were a pair he wasn't particularly familiar with.
"No," he said plainly before turning to continue walking.

Well then, wasn't this boil Helpy McHelperson of the year but then again Kettil didn't ask him for anything in particular other than whether or not there was a fire or not. A question that wasn't serious in the first place. Kettil gazed after the figure as it tried to retreat, Endzela let out a soft sound.
It sounded like 'no'.
...Kettil started moving after the figure.
More 'no' from the owl that Kettil seemed to suddenly grow deaf to.
"Hey! Wait a sec! Um. I wanted to know if ..."
"He doesn't want to be bothered!" Insisted his Familiar stubbornly in tone that was louder than it was intended.
Kettil gave his familiar a blank stare, "It isn't like he's going to hurt me for a question!"

Shun had been intent on continuing to walk off, but paused as he heard the other reaper calling out to him. Slowly, he glanced over his shoulder, giving the other a fairly neutral stare. Luckily for the stranger, he had a familiar. It was proof enough that he was dealing with a real denizen of Halloween than one of those damn Hunters.
Too bad he didn't know that the Hunters were currently screwed out of being able to go anywhere due to the mess they left behind.
"What do you want?" he asked quietly with a touch of annoyance in his voice.

If Kettil registered annoyance it was hard to tell. Endzela however just dropped her head feeling embarrassment in place of her Reaper. A wing lifted up to cover her face as if to hide from the one eyed gaze of the other Reaper.
He beamed a smile over at the other boil as if everything was going smoothly and as intended, "So, you seem like the type that likes to get around and exercise and such," he said thoughtfully.
Kettil was almost always on the lookout for a partner to train with.
"Was wonderin' if you could find some time for a spar one day?" Kettil figured that the other was busy at the moment and thus thought better of suggesting one right now. "I used to wrestle around with my brothers back home but since they can't be here...I been lookin' around for other boils to rough house with."
See? Kettil could think...sometimes.

Shun turned to face the other reaper a little more fully as he began to speak and explain himself. For a moment, he thought that he was about to be on the receiving end of a sales pitch. But thankfully, that wasn't quite the case. Still, he regarded the stranger with a little bit of wariness. It wasn't quite every day that he received what was more or less a challenge out of the blue like this.
"Perhaps. I am always seeking to better myself, however you may have to wait a little while. I have other priorities I must attend to before I can go about fighting others."
There was a pause, and he stared down the owl reaper a little more.
"Do you often challenge strangers randomly like this?"

"Understandable, I mean I did kind of," there was a small pause as he carefully said, "suddenly challenge you," the term 'blindside' seemed to be in bad taste in this case. He reached up to pet his owl to try and calm her down from her mortified state, "The fact is I am the type of boil to just wander up to someone and ask things. People are always free to tell me no," he grinned as his free shoulder shifted into a shrug.
Now, whether or not he listens when people say 'no' is another matter completely.
"Besides, if I don't ask I won't get the answer," he said finally. Not that the answers were often very important right away but he did like to know things and make friends.
This particular boil didn't seem like the random friendship type but still...
Kettil offered over a hand, "The name's Kettil by the way an' this is Endzela," he tilted his head toward the Owl.

Shun's expression didn't change at all as Kettil explained himself a bit, eyeing him a little critically at that first pause. Well, he supposed that he had a point regarding asking and whatnot. He still found it a little strange however, but some people were more likely to do these sorts of things than others.
"Shun," he offered in return before looking down at the outstretched hand. Handshakes. He never understood them or why people insisted of doing such things. Same with people hugging others randomly. Or headpats in the case of Lizzy. With a degree of hesitance, he took the hand.
He did, however, nod to both Kettil and Endzela.
"I suggest you be a little more careful in the future regarding strangers. Not everyone is as they seem."

He gave a short nod and then released Shun's hand after the handshake was done with a simple up and down motion and it was never thought about ever again. Kettil blinked a bit at Shun's warning and then glanced over at his Familiar before he simply said, "So I've heard in some cases," he said simply.
Kettil's smile didn't lessen any, "I guess I'm just overly friendly I guess. I can't seem t'bring myself to think everyone is an enemy right away or somethin'," he thoughtfully scratched at the side of his nose, "still, I take chances cause sometimes y'just never know."
Endzela sighed softly, "You could probably set up a fake damsel in distress under a box propped up with a stick and you'd probably catch him in the box," she informed Shun.

That.. wasn't really a good thing to hear. Shun's eye narrowed a bit because this sounded a little familiar in a way. The owl's words did not help all too much either.
"Just hope no Hunters get their eyes on you then. They take no shame in exploiting such things," he said lowly while putting his free hand into his pocket. The hand carrying the bag of food just hung loosely at his side.
Being friendly and trusting would be nice traits to have, if the state of things were not as they were. In his opinion, they were more dangerous than anything really.

"I'm not that bad," he insisted at his Familiar with a bit of a sigh, "I just ... like bein' nice ta folk. It isn't like I hug everyone or something. I just...I am friendly enough," He managed to get out but even that didn't seem the right phrasing. Endzela's only response was a small click of her beak.
He glanced over at Shun and at his words he looked a bit troubled, "I suppose you're right, I mean I wouldn't hesitate too much to exploit an enemy's weakness if I know it," Kettil seemed to have a bit of something else to think about now.
"The only time I dealt with any of 'em personally was back at those Horseman Islands," he shrugged, "most of what I had heard was from word of mouth from others."

The Reaper raised an eyebrow at the little exchange between the two. Perhaps it was a good thing the familiar seemed to be a little more grounded in a way. She may help keep the guy out of trouble. It wasn't like him to worry about strangers, but the less the hunters had to work with, the less weapons they would end up with.
They didn't need more weapons.
"Consider yourself fortunate then."
If only things were like that for everyone.

Kettil nodded a bit, "I do, I'll try to be more careful," he promised simply with a bit of a laugh. Then he stared down at what Shun was holding onto and his lips parted, "Oh Jack," he said suddenly, "you were tryin' ta get somewhere and I held ya up longer than I meant to. So sorry," he laughed again this time more openly, "Um..."
Pause. Shun didn't know his phone number and really, why would he take the time to find out?
Why should he?
"Want to meet for that training session at a certain time, then?" Kettil shifted a bit from foot to foot, unsettling his familiar a little - enough for her to take off to a nearby tree.

"I'm uncertain when I'll be free. I would rather not set an appointment only to find I'll be unable to show up," he said before raising an eyebrow at Kettil. He wasn't sure what the laugh was for, but in any case, he really didn't know how long it would take for Mitsu to recover. He wasn't really willing to leave her side for too long.
"But you can probably find me around the monster dorms nowadays while I attend to things," Shun offered.
