The field caught the sunlight perfectly, just the opportunity Marcus had been waiting for. He shuffled with his supplies and paper. He contemplated for a moment if he should paint, but his hands, face, and even a bit of his red hair was already stained with the substance. Maybe today was the day for colored pencils. The red head hadn't used those in a while.
By now he had set up and started, dragging a chair from a nearby classroom to the field. The spot Marcus had chosen had remained in great shape as he observed it, while the rest of the field was spotty with muddy patches and dried out dead grass. There was a single flower that grew from the ground that remained unharmed, and now was the perfect time for Marcus to get a good sketch of it.

Who ever heard of homework for ART CLASS? But at least art was easy... ish. Nari had what she thought she needed and was walking around the school, looking for something interesting to draw. She walked up towards the field. No one was playing today, so there shouldn't be anything-
"Oh!" She stopped, spotting the redheaded male. Someone was already here. NO FAIR!

Marcus turned his head at the voice. He was a bit startled by it, being so into his work already. "Um.. Hello there." He smiled with a small wave. The girl looked familiar, most likely from an art class, but she obviously went to the school by just looking at her uniform.
"Is there something wrong?" He inquired, turning back to the flower he had started to sketch.

"No no! Not at all!" She said quickly as the boy went back to his work. "I just didn't think anyone was out here because I mean who goes to the field specially for drawing. I mean how cartoon cliche is that!?" She started laughing, but stopped since the boy had gone back to his work. "... Am I bothering you?"

The boy leaned back over his chair, looking at the girl upside down and letting his mane of red hair fall against the back of the chair. "I guess I'm just one of those cliches, hm?" He smiled, straightening himself up to set his things down beside him. He stood up, laughing as he grew closer to the girl. "Not at all. It was just me and my thoughts." He chuckled a little, "And that gets old fast." The redhead offered her his hand to shake. "I'm Marcus and if you'd like, you can join me."

When the boy leaned back, Nari tried to tip her head to the side, attempting to lean upside-down to look at him as well, but couldn't crane herself that far. When the other got up, she straightened, her pigtails flopping behind her shoulders. "Marcus? Call me Nari!" She grabbed his hand and shook it eagerly. "My name's Kaminari but that's so long and feels really hard to say, Nari is much cuter, and I like my friends to call me that."

"I suppose you're right." He smiled as she shook his hand eagerly, "Nari is cuter." He thought for a moment, "I don't have anything else you could call me. No cute nickname or anything. Marcus is god enough, right?" Once she was done shaking his hand he moved back to his make shift work station. "Right now I'm drawing this." He gestured to the flower and the field. "The flower is the focal point and I don't want to draw all those brown spots and bald patches in the field." He laughed, offering the Nari his chair since he could just sit on the ground.

"Don't let me change your prospective!" She argued as soon the chair was offered to her. "You've already started!" Nari flopped herself on the grass beside the chair. "Marcus is a good name. I mean, I could call you Mark, but that's kind of... I donno... boring?" She looked up at him. "Are you a boring guy? Do you need a boring nickname?"

"I would call myself a boring guy." He placed the chair back and sat down to his work."So I don't think I need a boring nickname." He smiled and watched her sit in the grass. "And the only people who call me Mark are old people." He laughed, shaking his head as he began to draw again. "Will you be drawing here?" He inquired, "Since, you know, I ruined your plans by being here and all." He smiled, never taking his eyes off his work.
