The Castle.
A small castle hidden inside a rather thick forest, it is the ideal home for a being that is so in tune with nature. There is a lake down deep inside the forest, a walking trail leading to a set of stairs will take anyone curious enough down to the beautiful place. All kinds of rainforest and typical forest flora and fauna live around the castle, a terribly serene place to live.

The Features.
Castle Grounds
Castle Grounds cont.

Guest/Slave Bathrooms x4 (west)
Guest/Slave Bedrooms x4 (west)
Evita's Bedroom (west)
Evita's Private Bathroom (en-suite set-up)

Walking into the castle, it's a fantastic sight. Given there are typical homey rooms on the left hand side when you first enter, the first floor is still wonderful, with a large library taking up the whole east side, with a sitting room tucked next to it. All living rooms contain more modern electronics such as televisions, computers and stereos, with the lounge rooms containing only stereo's and gramaphones to leave a more relaxed setting. Sitting-rooms are simply used as waiting rooms, or study rooms, depending on the occasion, and contain no electronics. The dining room in in the north, located next to the ballroom. The indoor pool and conservatory are located in towers in the north-east and north-west; the pool catching the full glory of a sunrise, with the conservatory baring witness to romantic sunsets.

Being a castle, there are numerous spare bedrooms in the west wing on the second floor, Evita's being the most obvious, and clearly off-limits unless invited in. The bathrooms are also numerous in the castle, both upstairs and down. All bedrooms are located upstairs in the west wing, with a lounge room, living room and sitting room located on the east side as well. A second library takes up the north of the second floor, with the north-east and north-west areas just storage spaces along with important documents pertaining to the castle and families history. The castle is easy to navigate and explore, just like it's grounds, and even if you think you're lost, a guard will happily help you out. Unless Albert finds you, then you're most definitely in good hands.

Welcome to your new home. Enjoy <3

The creature could not go very far and he honestly could not. Luckily, he did not mind the scenery at all. In fact, he liked it. It reminded him of his old home oh-so long ago, but he knew it was not the same location. There was a different smell here. He remembered what he came to learn later what seemed to be Maple trees and here smelled...ancient. If he used that word correctly. Heading along the path, there were two armored men with their visors down standing right in the pathway. The man escorting the creature furrowed his eyebrows in confusion before sighing a little bit and mumbling something near inaudible. The man handed over the document folder to one of the armored men and turned back around. "They'll take you to your new owner. This is far as I go apparently. Good luck, Dayle." The creature, in the form of a mid-twenties Human man, canted his head a little bit. "Tell Kim thank you for the new shoes." The man nodded and went beyond Dayle. The oak-brown eyes looked back to the armored men which one moved directly behind him and the other in front of him. With that, the three continued along the trail in silence.

It seemed forever to Dayle, traveling along the trail and the stair-case brook and the lake as well, the three finally came to the castle. It was something completely different Dayle has ever seen. What little time he had with books with photos and pictures, he only seen these sorts in those. Getting to the bridge and the portcullis, which started to lower and raise in the proper order and Dayle followed along. By the time he got into the castle itself, his face said his curiosity and amazement. The one armored guard following behind Dayle broke off when they entryway and he noticed it, but still followed the one in the front.

The armored guard, the one with the document folder, led the man into a sitting or waiting room--or at least it looked like it since there are many chairs and lounge chairs.
"Wait here please." The armored guard closed the door without giving Dayle a chance to speak. Sighing a little bit, he rubbed the rope bracelet on his left wrist--it was something of a nervous habit of his. Looking down to the deep-blue denim pants along with the faded-blue shirt and the now-broken-in black shoes that seemed a bit too rounded, Dayle found himself very under-dressed in this area that he is supposed to reside in now.

Staring out the window of her conservatory, Evita placed her hands to the warm glass. It was late morning, and she was expecting a new arrival. A personal guard, a companion. Someone that she could be around that would watch over her and keep her safe. Evita had no idea what kind of person was coming, since she had told the [butler] that lived with her to find a being suitable. The butler was a charming elderly man, a sorcerer that had put his magic to use helping people rather than crafting potions and selling false hope in the streets. He'd lived with her uncle beforehand, and seemed to be happier living with the dryad who was now heading into the classification of an Ancient. Hearing the gentle clatter of a tea tray being placed on a table in the room she was in, the Princess turned around slowly, her ornate garb gently rustling as she moved. "Take some time to have some tea before the new member arrives, Princess. No need to go fretting by the window." Nodding, the woman settled herself on a chair, picking up a china cup that was filled with the lovely warm liquid. A crown of wood rested upon her head, the symbol of her status. Admittedly, she wished she didn't have to wear it, but the closeness of the thorny item made her rather comfortable. It was wood after all, and she was a Dryad.

It wasn't long after her butler had brought in the tea for Evita and she had subsequently finished it, a guard appeared, announcing his arrival with a knock on the archway that lead into the conservatory. "Princess, the new arrival is here and waiting in the sitting room for you." Standing up quickly, the woman that looked much younger than her true age nodded in reply, unsure of what to say. Turning to the butler, the two walked out the conservatory and headed for the sitting room at the front of the castle. The woman was indeed nervous now, and had hidden her hands inside the large sleeves of her gown. Stopping just before they reached the sitting room, Evita reached out for her butler, gently touching his elbow to get his attention. "Y-You go first. I'll follow." Nodding, understanding what the Princess meant, the butler walked in first with the guard, and immediately spied a man of oriental descent. A king smile was on the elderly man's face as he approached, only to be stopped by the guard that lead them to the sitting room. Being handed a folder, the guard whispered something to the butler, and left. Opening the folder, the man quickly glanced over the basics, like the man's name and what he was.

"Well Dayle, it's nice to meet you. My name's Albert and I'm the butler to this castle." Shutting the file, the butler was standing quite straight, but yet seemed quite relaxed about the whole thing. "You were brought here to act as a personal watcher of the Princess that lives here. Due to circumstances that are most terrible, the Princess was brought to this place for her own safety. You are not required to act like a Slave, and you will not be treated as one in any way. You are in the league of a guard here, and will get the same privileges. But this means you will also receive the same punishments if you disobey a direct order, or fall out of line." Although his words seemed harsh, there was no sign of ill-intent on the elderly sorcerers face, a friendly smile remaining on his lined face. "Now, I believe there is someone that wants to meet you now." Turning, Albert walked to the door to the sitting room and opened it, calling out to someone outside. It was a couple of quiet, tense seconds before Evita walked into the sitting room, the woman clearly quite shy about meeting the new person in her temporary home. But the shyness didn't stop her from smiling at the man named Dayle once she was in the room, even if she felt like her ornate clothing was probably making the male feel awkward. "It's nice to meet you, Dayle. I look forward to learning more about you." Bowing her head at the end of her greeting, Albert stepped forward. "Princess Evita is the one you'll be watching, and she is the only royal in this castle. There are a few cooks, a handful of cleaners and maids, and then a large number of guards. Morning tea will be served in a matter of moments, so how about we show you around and let you find a room?" Even the Princess seemed to like this idea, her excitement showing through in her body language. "Come, Dayle, lets show you around the place we hope you will call home." Her voice was soft, but it wasn't a shy whisper. It was the kind of soft one associated with a spring day, a gentle, kind tone of voice.

Meandering around the room, Dayle was not much of one to stay still when he was told. However, having a feeling there was someone directly outside the door, should he decide to explore without any proper introductions, that guard or someone else was there to stop him. The place was far different than any of the places he had been in before. Even when Zucchini was around, there was nothing like this. Ah, Zucchini. That old bird. An annoying witch, but was caring to say the least.

When the door opened, though and an elder gent came into the room, Dayle only hoped this would be his new...eh...employer. He only knew as much as being like a bodyguard of some sort and not much else luckily. However, when this Albert proclaimed his position within the household, there was a bit of a slump upon the young man's face. Probably the real employer was some lazy-bu----princess? That most certainly caught the young man's attention. He had never seen royalty before, aside from books and the films the witch showed him before. Not even in his true form are there types of royalty, but there were ranks of the Guardians and he knew how to act. Listening to Albert carefully, Dayle found it odd to be treated like everyone else who is of not royalty. Giving a silent and gentle nod of comprehending what the butler was speaking of, the young man's nose twitched just slightly which he came to find out early on about emotions that it was a nervous habit.

When the young-looking princess entered the room, Dayle canted his head just a little bit in curiosity, but did not say anything. When she spoke, however, he did try his best with a bow. He had to do so by memory of the films he watched so many times.
"And I with you and your culture." His voice did seem a little bit sheepish, but it was grounded and seemed it was confident. Rising back up carefully, he glanced over to Albert and gave a small nod before looking back to the princess. "It would be deeply appreciated for a tour." Mentally blaming all those books and films, Dayle held out an arm towards the princess; not too sure which way she could take it, let alone take it at all. Would it be just an arm over and hand-to-hand-with-no-grasp? Or a loose arm link?

Albert didn't want to admit it, but he did feel a little sheepish when Dayle seemed slightly disappointed upon hearing what it was he did. Albert knew being a butler wasn't the best occupation, but he enjoyed it quite thoroughly. Yet, a sense of tepid excitement rose in the butler's heart upon seeing the man perk back up once he explained it was the Princess he'd be guarding. Both Albert and Evita were a little relieved to see Dayle bow, it was a sign that he was obviously taught manners at some point. Whether he'd ever been around some form of royalty was a matter to be found out later, but he seemed to be quite calm. A sheepish smile came to Evita's face as Dayle admitted to wanting to get to know her and her culture, and she gently rubbed the back of her neck, chin dipping down a little so her gaze fell to the floor. Alberto though noticed the confidence behind it, and it made the old man feel a little more certain that they had done the right thing in contacting the apparent slave traders. Of course, the butler hadn't wanted to in the first place, but sadly, they had more information on their "wares" compared to other places. Given he was still wary about the man, he seemed to be a polite being, considering he did the rather polite thing and offered to escort the Princess around, even if she was the one giving him the tour. Blushing vividly, the fingers of her right hand touched her lips for a moment, her shyness evident in that moment.

Regardless of how she felt though, Evita stepped forward and linked her arm with Dayle's, her hand gently resting on his forearm. Standing on his left, the woman followed Albert out the room, urging Dayle on with a gentle nudge of her arm but that was all. She didn't force him out the room, nor drrag him. It was quite a relaxing walk as the trio set off around the castle, a guard here and there doing some laps of guard duty. The first floor was easiest: a handful of comfortable rooms, the library that took up the whole of the east wing aside from the small sitting room, dining room, ballroom and the conservatory. Reaching the indoor pool, Evita seemed to stand somewhat proudly. She had commissioned for this room to be build, and the whole area smelt clean and fresh, no trace of chlorine anywhere. Without a word, the Princess stepped away from Dayle, her arm slowly snaking away from his to tend to a fern by the pool. Speaking in a rather ancient, almost Druidic language, she stroked it's leaves and it seemed to perk up, the effect continuing even after she left the plant to return to Dayle's side, her arm resuming it's previous position on his. "I do apologise, I couldn't bare it to see a plant looking sad. I-I'm a Dryad; a being born from an Oak Tree. I have powers that... Umm.." Trailing off, the woman's cheeks turned a gentle pink, and Albert stepped up to finish explaining. "What the Princess is trying to say is that she has the ability to restore or create plants and the like. She can either make grass grow from the smallest cup of dirt, to encouraging large, strong trees to grow faster and healthier than normal." A shy sort of chuckle left Evita's lip, a proud but humble smile on her lips as they left the pool room to head upstairs.

The upper floor was even easier to navigate, since the whole west wing was bedrooms. A few basic homey rooms dotted the second floor, along with an exact clone of the library downstairs. Turning left to head for the bedrooms, Albert pipped up again. "There are four regular bathrooms up here, available for anyone's use. Evita's adjoins her private room, obviously as a just in case. As you might guess, entry to her room is strictly forbidden, unless you are invited in, or it is an emergency. Which we hope won't happen with you around." An encouraging smile was sent Dayle's way as the most delicate of squeezes met his arm, the Princess looking up at the male with a hopeful expression. He seemed rather strong to her, and she felt safe around him. Reaching the end of the corridor, an ornate white door met them as they stopped. "This is Princess Evita's room, and the four other rooms are spaced out each side of the corridor. It... Was advised by our guards that you pick one of the rooms next to her's..." A dainty hand suddenly appeared, hushing Albert quite quickly. A frown that could rival any adorable child's was on Evita's face, her head shaking gently side to side. "Albert! Let Dayle pick his room. He can stay in whatever one he wants, he doesn't have to have one next to mine." Realising her outburst sounded almost pouty, a small squeak came from the Princess, the blush returning to her face. The only reply from Albert was a chuckle, a cheerful look on his face. Staring at the hem of her gown now, the Princess's voice silently sounded, the quietness around them making it mildly easier to hear her. "Do you have a favourite flower or plant, Dayle?" To many, the question would seem silly, but the Princess had an idea for a small gift she wanted to give him, just something to say thank you for agreeing to look out for her, even if he may have been forced to in a way.

Mentally cursing at the lack of immediate social interaction, Dayle only gave a small nod and made sure even with the tug he kept the loose grasp of her arm carefully. Following Albert along and keeping at pace with the Princess, he did his best to resist any temptation of not running away; but more of meandering off.

Doing a quick mental map along the main floor, trying to remember the directions and locations of rooms by not only the looks of the rooms themselves, but what was nearby. If there were any of the lush-and-ever-lively plants close by or some decor relative to the room. Even in his true form, Dayle was practically the strategic observer; making sure all was there what his mind map gave to him. Every now and again, though, there was a look of amazement set in his eyes, particularly in the conservatory and in the indoor pooling areas.

Not objecting to the release of the arm-link, Dayle glanced over to Albert briefly for assurance, but even him watching the Princess gave all that the young man needed. Looking back to the Princess, watching and listening to her; the language sounded familiar, but not too sure where from specifically. Letting a hint of a soft smile be shown upon his lips as the leaves of the fern slowly rose from dull moments of time. Listening to the Princess with her hesitation of an explanation, he furrowed his eyebrows a little bit. Not at the fact of what she is, but more of the fact she had difficulty explaining it. Brushing the thought away, he looked back to the elderly butler and gave a small nod.
"And the ability to communicate with them as well if my book studies recall correctly." Chuckling a little bit, his arm returned to its former position on keeping a loose grasp of the Princess' own arm as the two residents led on with the tour.

Dayle was a little bit relieved to find out the west half of the second floor were the bedrooms. Less memorising to worry about. Dayle receives his own room? He never had that before. Sure, the attic or a basement to previous employers, but those were shared with possessions of the employers. Not this time. His own room will have his own worldly possessions...which, from the looks of what he brought along with him, was none. Giving a nod to Albert with his details of the rooms but only to have the Princess pipe up and not sounding so docile-like, that gave a quirk in Dayle's head with curiosity. Letting out a chuckle of their playful and harmless quip, the man shook his head a bit.
"Actually, I would not mind staying in that room if it is available." His free arm gave a soft gesture towards the other room opposite the hall and still close to the Princess' quarters. "Same distance, but just on the other side." He gave a playful smile to the butler before looking back to the Princess and a small slight of a nod. It would have been a prime opportunity to do what the Humanoids call a wink...but even after eleven years within the body, he had still yet to accomplish that simple and near mundane technique. "As for the favourite flower. I believe it is what the Humanoids call 'hibiscus.' Or what my culture likes to call 'food.' "

Both Evita and Albert had been surprised when Dayle had shown some knowledge of the Princess' special talent, the Princess being more impressed compared to Albert. She didn't think that her kind had been written about, so hearing that someone had read about her specific skill set made her quite happy. That happiness had stuck around until Albert said that he'd prefer it if Dayle took a room next to her's, but yet, he'd chuckled at their antics. He'd even come up with quite a clever response, something that had made the Princess stand a little prouder and taller. The small nod her way had made her giggle in a most embarrassed way, but she was smiling regardless. Yet, the thing that made her really smile was hearing the man's favourite flower. A Hibiscus. "Hibiscus... A plant that means 'delicate beauty', except for your culture... Then it's food." Another giggle came from her lips, a proper amused one this time, and Albert stepped to the room Dayle had gestured to and opened the door. "Come, let me show you your room." It was the Princess that had offered to show him around this time, and gently taking his hand - his wrist was covered by something she hadn't seen yet - she led him into the room, almost skipping with joy. It was fully furnished, and there were some fluffy towels on the edge of his bed. Somewhat dragging him into his new room, Albert waited outside to see how the Princess would handle things on her own."This shall be your own area. You will be paid a salary while here, s-since you're now an employee, not a s-slave." Mumbling the last part, the woman distracted herself by wandering over to a vase that sat empty and lonely above the fireplace. Dragging over a footstool, she began to speak again, looking over her shoulder every so often. "It's only a tiny amount of money, but it means you can buy what you want to decorate your room. Or clothes, but we'll buy you some to start with, since those horrible people only sent you here with what you're wearing." Sticking her hands into the vase, soft dirt covered her fingers and she sighed happily. Clean, new soil, it was a lovely feeling. Eyes shut, although she was reciting Druidic words in her head, she still kept speaking in English. "I know you're meant to be watching me, but you don't have to all the time. I'll let you have some time off to relax." Grinning, she stepped down off the footstool, her hands covered in dirt.

"There, now watch, Dayle. You should see them starting to pop their heads up any moment." Whispering, like they were watching baby birds hatch, the woman seemed almost ecstatic. Sure enough, green shoots began to pop up over the top of the white vase, while large waxy leaves began to form. A small bush had grown within a matter of moments, and yellow buds began to appear. "I'll come and check on them every day when you're not in here, ok?" She whispered to Dayle, a dirt-covered finger hovering near her lips as she acted like it would be a secret. By the time she'd whispered that though, two-tone flowers began to blood, giving the white room a burst of colour. Giving a happy little squeal, she clapped her hands, smiling up at Dayle, praying that he liked them. "All right you two, morning tea will be served soon. Let's go sit in the conservatory today, ok?" Getting an enthusiastic nod from Evita, she took up Dayle's hand once more to lead him out the room, forgetting she had dirt on her hands. Walking back down the hall, a few paces behind Albert, Evita realised she was holding Dayle's clean hand with her dirty one, and quickly let go. A question was plaguing her mind though. "Dayle, what kind of creature are you? You said that it was in your culture to eat hibiscus flowers, but I don't know that many that do. Tell me a little bit about yourself?" Evita could have easily just asked Albert, since the man was still carrying the files, but that wasn't very personal, and the woman wanted to hear it for herself. It would be a nice little distraction while they walked to the conservatory, his explanation hopefully taking the whole walk there. Because upon reaching the warm room, she immediately sat on one of the two-person couches, inviting Dayle to sit next to her as a maid brought in a tea cart laden with all kinds of food. Sandwiches that belonged in a high tea, fruit salad made of only the freshest and tastiest fruits, sweet biscuits and tarts, and a large silver pot of tea, with enough cups for Albert, Evita and Dayle, along with sugar and milk. Evita was most a vegetarian, but she did eat chicken and fish, and occasionally red meat. But that was only from a local butcher who'd taken great care of his animals, and fed only on the best grains and grasses. "I hope you like this food here..." She mumbled, playing with a strand of her silver hair. "If there's anything you don't like, or things you'd rather eat, please let us know. It won't be any trouble for us to add them to our menus." Pouring out the tea, he only fixed his own; one teaspoon of sugar and a dash of milk. Evita would fix her own, and Albert would happily fix Dayle's if he asked him to.

Giving a nod to the Princess when she confirmed the flower of choice, he went a wide-eyed a little by the surprise of when she took a hold of Dayle's hand comfortably and dragged him along for just the first few seconds before he was able to catch up to her properly. Looking about the room once the thre--uh, two--entered in, his curiosity got the best of him. Touching the towels gently, he looked back to the Princess as she went on to explained the way of employment. He nodded a little but then only furrowed his eyebrows a little bit as he looked downward. "We may need to find a cobbler that specialises in specific footwear. And contrary to popular belief, they are not that terrible in the shop I was residing." He actually did not mind wearing the clothes he had now since they were rather clean. He did need more than just what he had, though.

Looking over to the empty vase and the Princess on the footstool, Dayle kept silent when she started to whisper the same language from before, but different words and phrases. Moving closer to the vase and the Princess and crouched down a little bit. Looking up to the seemingly-young-woman briefly before looking back to the vase and the leaves and soon enough the small bush beginning to bloom, a small smile formed and then grew once the two-tone flowers started to bloom. Looking back to the Princess, Dayle let out a small chuckle and gave a nod of approval when she would check up on them before standing up to take the vase carefully and placed it back upon the fireplace mantle. Turning over to the door, he did give a nod to Albert before having another surprised look on his face when she took a hold of his hand once again. He did not mind the amount of dirt from her hands, but was rather amused how she acted. Like a child who is still excited over the simplest of things, it was something he never truly saw before except in the films.

When the Princess asked Dayle about himself, he gave a small cant of the head. Not in a way of not wanting to, but in a way where it would seem difficult.
"I am. Was. Still am. I don't know. But a hippogryff. Our culture had a taste for the flora and, oddly enough, chicken. Kind of hannibalistic, but it was part of our appetite." He possibly meant "cannibalistic," but close enough. "I was doing a solo patrol one dusk-time and I was caught by a witch who mostly covered me in some enchanted rope net. She taught me how to be Humanoid a little bit over eleven years ago and had to sell me off to pay off a loan-whale. During the ten years of living with her, I taught myself with weapons from the books I read and films she let me watch. When I went to the shops, I went in and out; being a bodyguard and mostly muscle man." Granted it seemed he did not have much muscle, but there had to been something the Princess and possibly Albert saw in his files to choose him. Luckily, he was able to fill the time of travel between his bedroom and the conservatory.

Entering the conservatory, Dayle had a better chance to examine a lot of items within the room. However, it was cut short when the Princess invited him to sit on the empty area of the couch. Giving a small smile and a nod, he sat down to her right as a maid came in with the cart. Looking over to the small sandwiches and the fruits, he waited patiently until the two were done with their own fixing of the tea. Once the two were completed, he made his own tea--which honestly was not something he ever did, but learned fairly quickly. Placing more of milk than of sugar, he grabbed a couple of the small tarts before settling back into his seat. Before he was able to stuff his mouth or take a drink, Dayle looked over to Albert and gently shook his head.
"Oh no. This is all perfect. I am not too terribly pokey." It was noticeable he makes simple mistakes here and there, but if someone thinks about it, he is only eleven years of age in Humanoid.

It was the walk from Dayle bedroom to the conservatory that became most interesting. Albert had caught the quick remark he'd made about needing specific footwear and had made a mental note to find someone in the town that could create footwear that would be comfortable for him. While Dayle answered the question Evita had asked, they listened intently. Albert had read the man's file already so he knew what Dayle was, and how he came to be a humanoid slave. But Evita knew nothing about the man she was walking with, and was quite intrigued as he spoke. Both noted the small mistakes he made in his speech, but it was all cleared up as he told them about the woman that tried to teach him to live amongst humans. Having only heard of hippogryphs in tales from travellers in her old home, to actually meet one made the Princess feel quite humble. They were majestic creatures, and very strong. Was he still able to change into his natural form? She'd ask later on, as long as it wasn't a touchy subject. Albert watched the male carefully as he made his tea, ready to help or take over if need-be. The Princess on the other hand was happily sipping her tea, being careful not to burn her tongue or lips.

Hearing Dayle say 'pokey' instead of 'picky' made Evita smile happily and even chuckle softly. Giving the male a smile that was more cheerful than pity that he messed up a word, she allowed him to eat before thinking of any more questions. It was a few moments of quiet eating before a voice pipped up, and surprisingly, it was Alberts. "Dayle, when you mentioned that you're not sure if you're still a hippogryph or not, what did you mean by that?" Picking up the file while the Princess sent a concerned look to her butler, the older man flicked it open. "It's... Not because of those bindings on your wrists, is it?" A tea cup was hurriedly placed onto a table as Evita quickly turned to Dayle, his wrists in her hands. Sure enough, a rope was there, on each wrist. Running her thumbs over the material that felt as light and as soft as silk, she looked up at Dayle curiously. "Do these prevent you changing forms? I'd... Love to see your true form." Blushing, thankfully at that moment a guard entered the room, asking for an audience with Albert; suspicious activity had been spotted in the city. Nodding at Albert to leave, Evita stayed still on the couch, looking at Dayle as Albert left to tend to business.

"I've only ever heard of hippogryphs in tales from travellers where I used to live." The Princess admitted in a hushed tone, her fingers still tracing the rope bindings around his wrists, her eyes finally turning to look back up to his. "Everyone said the same; they were strong but majestic creatures. I reckon that's why Albert chose you to protect me. He's met one. Don't know where, don't know when, but he did. He's a sorcerer, a very ancient one. If he thought you were special, you must be." Grinning, her hands letting go of Dayle's wrists to pick up a sandwich rectangle; one of the cheese ones. Settling back into the couch, she wanted to hear what Dayle had to say, adorable mixed-up words and all. The Princess really wanted to get to know him, he was the first person outside the castle she'd ever met, even though he was bought to protect her. Who said she couldn't make friends with him? He'd be close to her most of the time, so why work with someone you didn't know well?

[If the bindings are only on one wrist, I do apologise. Sorry it's so small, my original idea just didn't seem to work out, but I can put that into practise in my next post!]

During the silence, Dayle took the time eat the two tarts...at once. A lot of chewing occurred at that moment with him. Luckily, after he washed it down with a few sips of the tea, Albert spoke; which was a little bit surprising to ask such a question when he had his file this whole time. Looking over to the Princess for a beat then looking over to the butler, the man gave a small nod. "Precisely." He never hid the rope bracelets as they seemed a light tan braided hemp intertwined with brass, silver and gold twine on each wrist. So gentle to the touch and yet seemed just as sturdy as rope for a ship's anchor. Before he was able to answer the two, Dayle turned about to examine the guard briefly; he furrowed his eyebrows a little bit in confusion before looking over to Albert as he left. At the moment, he thought nothing of it before it was just the two of them alone once again.

Looking back to the Princess, Dayle let out a small chuckle before he spoke again.
"Kind of sort of. They prevent me from changing until my current--uh, employer grants me the permission. And then once that occurs, then it kind of flips about and allows me to stay in Humanoid form. Zucchini was a little off her bonkers when she made that enchantment on these. Low, I think what folks call it. Never understood that, though." Listening to the Princess, there was a hint of red crawling to his cheeks, but luckily she released his wrists and quickly hid himself behind the tea cup which thankfully still had a little bit left. Finishing the last drop of it, Dayle reached over to place it back on the cart and placing it upside-down. There was no significance of doing so, but it was just something he thought was good to do.

Settling back down onto the couch, Dayle looked back over to the Princess and waited until she was completed with her little cheese sandwich before speaking again.
"And to reverse your comment. I'm not special, just different; but you are correct on being strong." Turning his head about, just to see if there was anyone close by, he automatically scooted closer to the Princess; but still gave a proper distance as he looked back to her. "My apologies for changing the topic, but might I ask who the guard was? Something seemed," There was a pause, as if trying to figure out the right word and not messing it up, "not right about him."

Listening to Dayle talk about how only his current employer could grant him permission to change, Evita was already beginning to think of all the possibilities this could lead to. It meant she'd be able to walk around without a guard outside the castle grounds. It meant she'd be able to go down to the lake once again! Oh she hadn't been there in so long, she missed the smell of the fresh water, the new plants and the clean air. Just thinking about it almost left her in a dream-like state, until Dayle put his cup back on it's saucer upside-down. It wasn't a practise many remembered in this day and age, but it was a rather fancy way of saying you didn't want any more to drink, much like one would put their knife and fork together at the end of a banquet. Frankly, the Princess was shocked and impressed that Dayle knew to do that. Whether it was a fluke or not though, she wanted to find that out. Another day though, she was enjoying herself too much right now to think about asking such silly questions.

It was uplifting to hear Dayle admit that he was strong, but although he disagreed with her comment about him being special, she still thought he was. Evita knew he was the good kind of special, the kind that made you different from everyone else; he had a good heart and soul. Finishing off her own cup of tea, she was mid-way through returning it to it's saucer - upside-down as well - when the Hippogryph surprised her with a sudden question. Her face paled slightly, and she quickly put the tea cup down, her hands folding in her lap tightly. She hadn't wanted to bring this up so soon, but he needed to know anyway, so she thought she may as well come clean. "You are correct, there is something wrong with the guard. There will be something wrong with all of them now. They're nervous, and... Maybe for good reason. I should... Tell you why you were really brought here." Looking down at her hands briefly, the Princess turned her head back up, looking Dayle square in the eye.

"This isn't my real home. I was moved here for my own safety. You see... A Lord came to my real home after the Ancients, what some races would call Elders, forced a law that I needed to marry someone of royal or noble blood. He demanded that he marry me, and my father nearly was forced into it. Until I uncovered the truth: he wanted to tear down our forest to make more farmland. We told him to leave, my father promising he'd never marry me or get our land. This Lord... He... He declaired war on our home, a few kingdoms away. It became a situation that if he couldn't have me and the land I inherited when I became Queen, no-one could have me or the land." Her gaze dropped at this moment, her hands gripping her robes tightly. "You were hired to protect my life from this man. From this horrible Lord that will stop at nothing to get me. Word came from the town that a suspicious figure was spotted, so the guards will send off men to check out this threat. This is why the guard seemed odd just then."

Looking up at Dayle once more, the Princess seemed frightened beyond belief just by telling him the truth. Her hands wouldn't stay still in the fabric of her robe. "I really hoped I wouldn't have to tell you this soon, I didn't want to frighten you this early. This Lord... He will stop at nothing to see me dead and my forest home destroyed." Taking a deep, shaky breath, she rubbed her face gently, shutting her eyes for a moment. As they opened, a shaky smile came to her lips. "Umm, Dayle. How would I give you permission to change into your true form when you wanted? Do I.. Umm, Do I have to say anything special?" Trying to change the subject to one that was happier, her now steady hands went straight to his and picked them up, the Princess clearly excited about possibly giving Dayle a chance to choose if he wanted to change forms. Giving his hands a gentle squeeze, she hoped that the information hadn't been too much too soon for him. Knowing that you had to defend someone's life could potentially be intimidating, or so Evita believed.

There was not much he could do anyway even gaining permission to change back and forth between the original form and the humanoid form at will. Sure, Dayle would be finally able to be more relaxed and stretch out everything and not be constrained by clothes. He could also not eat Humanoid food--which in general he did not mind, but there were those times he craved just ol' living chicken and none of this cooked stuff. And to fly...with her on his ba--where did that thought come from? Blinking away rapidly at his own day-dream, he looked back to the Princess once she placed away her cup and started to speak the truth as to why he was here and why she was the lone royal within the residence.

Listening to the Princess' story, Dayle gave a few simple nods here and there, but kept quiet. Well, at least the witch taught him manners and some what of etiquette. As to why or whether she knew something like this would come along, Dayle would never know. There were different theories he came up with throughout the years of learning and living with her, but he never approached any of them to her. It was odd, though, for someone to be against more farmland. He never understood politics, though, even when he was in the Guardianship. The guard, though--the one who requested Albert's presence--still had something off from him though and more than what the Princess had explain.

Having a sudden need to ease her mind, Dayle gave her a warm and comforting smile before he glanced down to his hands being held by her and finally looked back to her. However, when she asked of him if there was anything special she had to do, his nose twitched a bit before furrowing his eyebrows and looked downward.
"I do not know. To be honest, no one has given me permission. Zucchini did, but I only assumed since she created this formation of me, she could do whatever she wanted." Giving a small shrug, Dayle looked back up to the Princess with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "And no matter what formation I am, be it true or this one, you have my word on my life that I will protect you in any way, shape or form." Placing her hands close to his face, he tapped them lightly against his forehead. Dayle could not do the proper handshake, which was a claw for the protector and the hoof for the protectee, since--from the looks of it--the Princess had no hooves. He also genuinely would have done it the proper way, but trying to do the correct tone of screeching in a humanoid voice would probably not sound right.

Whether or not Dayle understood any of what was going on, he seemed to accept it without any disagreement. She knew that unless you were born from an Earthy background, one would never understand why she was so against her forest home from being destroyed. She'd hint it to him at some point, when she got a chance to leave the castle with him. That would be something she'd do soon, with or without Albert's permission. Evita had always wanted to wander down to the lake just across from the castle without being watched so she could get back in tune with nature, but Albert had always insisted that a guard would follow her to watch her. There's no fun in that, there's no chance to relax and re-tune herself with the flora that's around them. But now, with Dayle here, he could come with her and it would be like going exploring with a good friend; it would be fun and relaxing. Oh how she missed being relaxed out the castle grounds...

It had been a long shot with her question of how to give him permission to change, and Evita managed to get her train of thought together just before Dayle answered her question. Just like she had thought, he didn't know, but it surprised her that he had never been permission. Why, that was simply wrong! It was like telling a bird it couldn't fly, or a fish it was no longer allowed to swim. She'd be devastated if she was told she could no longer help out the plants she loved so dearly, so she could only imagine how Dayle felt. But the Princess was now determined to set this right, Albert was a sorcerer, he'd be able to help out, right? He had some books he could look through surely. A shrug of the shoulders met her attention, and she found Dayle looking at her with some form of hope in his eyes. If he could stay positive, then she could stay hopeful that the Lord would get caught. She wouldn't let it get the best of her.

A blush rose to her cheeks as Dayle pledged that he would protect her, no matter what. Feeling him lift her hands, she watched curiously as he touched her hands to his forehead before lowering them. Guessing that Hippogryphs had some kind of different handshake agreement to most other humanoids, Evita decided she liked this one better. It felt more formal, more... Personal. It was nice. Nodding in agreement, she gently took his hands in hers. "I think I might know a way to find out how to give you permission." She said hesitantly, smiling hesitantly. "I can ask Albert. He's a sorcerer, so that's kind of like a witch or wizard. He might have something in a book." Trying to sound as hopeful as possible, she gently let go of his hands. "But, how about for now, we do something you want to do. Is there anything you wanted to see here?" It may have been a little cheeky of her to ask such a thing, but really Evita was hoping that Dayle wanted to go down to the lake and see it. Because then, if he suggested it, the guards couldn't say no.

Cocking his head to the side a little in curiosity, Dayle furrowed his eyebrows a little bit at the mention of Albert being some kind of warlock. He remembered the Princess…or was it Albert himself…either way, he remembered one of the two stating that he was one with more variety of magical wisdom. Smiling a little bit and giving a nod to her, he was more than willing to try anything out; especially since none of them knew how to do so in the first place. It would be the first time in over a year since he had anything but Human skin on. Granted, there was a little bit of his original form on him—literally—but there was a difference between feeling the wind against the wings and feeling it through the hair.

There was something unusual about this young woman. Alright, aside from the whole princess ordeal and being more than just a plain ol' dryminus...erm dryad. Not too sure how to explain any of it in his mind, Dayle did look at the Princess quizzically when she asked him of any place he wanted to explore. Thinking on this, and his face contorted to a point of pondering, he looked around in the room before looking back to her.
"I wanted to explore more of the castle here within, but I could do that another time." If he was going to protect the Princess, he will need to know the layout of the place along with the ins-and-outs. How do maids and fellow guards maneuver around the castle so easily without getting lost or winded-out. If there were any secret corridors or passageways or what some films and books called servants' halls. Little shortcuts or other more wide-spaced corridors that lead to someplace else in the castle. Moving on from that thought, Dayle eyed the Princess suspciously. "I am going to guess you have not seen much beyond the walls lately? So you are going to plant idea seeds in my mind to explore outside. No pun intended, Princess."

Sighing a little bit, the Princess will soon enough figure out that, even as a grown-looking man, Dayle was a child in many other ways. Therefore ever-curious, naive and a bit gullible. Luckily, he did not mind the outdoors so much. The witch allowed him to sleep on the rooftop during the summer evenings. Giving her a chuckle and a smile, he stood up--and with his own hands still in hers, helped her up as well. "We should at least tell a couple of the guards of our whereabouts before they start thinking and soon believing I came to kidnap you or something."

It seemed that Dayle had quite a bit on his mind, his eyebrows furrowing every so often. Starting to worry herself, wondering if she may have said something wrong at some point or if she had missed something, he finally answered. So he had wanted to explore the castle more hey? It was a reasonable idea; if he was to live here and protect her, he really did need to get to know the place like the back of his hand. But then his gaze became suspicious and a shy smile crept to her face. She hadn't meant to plant the idea in his head, but in all honesty, she hadn't been outside in what felt like an age, so it was perhaps a rather sneaky way of getting a chance to go outside while still giving Dayle the option of choosing what he wanted to do.

A small chuckle passed her lips at his little quip, the 'idea seeds' part being especially cute. The witch it seemed had taught him well, even if there were a few things he did that made her giggle. A few mixed up words never hurt, and she understood what he meant any way. Dayle soon stood up, and with a small look of surprise, she felt herself be gently pulled to her feet, her hands still in Dayle's. Her whole face seemed to light up as he agreed to go outside with her, and she nodded in agreement, giving his hands a gentle squeeze. "I will definitely tell a guard; I don't want any of them thinking ill of you." Turning around to lead Dayle out - quite used to his hand being in her's now, they got half-way to the door of the conservatory before Albert re-appeared. Beaming at the butler, Evita let go of Dayle's hand and went over to the older man. "Dayle is going to escort me out to the castle gardens, please don't let the guards think he's up to anything bad." Her grin faltered when Albert seemed to be not as excited as Evita at the prospect of going outside.

"Given I usually don't like it when you decide to leave the castle, especially after you found that secret trail your Uncle made." A sheepish grin crossed the Princess's face, her fingers playing with her grey hair. "You will be happy to know that the suspicious activity was only a group of children who had taken to stealing fruit from the market, so..." And a smile came to the face of the elderly sorcerer, his face relaxing. "Which means that this time, I have no issue with letting you show Dayle the gardens. Just... Don't let any guards see you go down to the forest to look for that secret trail again." It was a little bit sneaky of Albert to give secret permission for the Princess to go down said trail, but he felt quite sure that Dayle would be able to look after the Princess. Nodding her head at the man, she turned around to take Dayle's hand again, when she remembered something. She wanted to ask about Dayle's bindings, and how they would go about giving him permission to change.

"Can you do something for me, Albert? Can you go through your sorcery books and find out what I have to do to allow Dayle permission to change forms?" Giving the Princess a rather strange look, she responded with a pleading one. Sighing, he had no choice but to give in. "Alright, I'll have a read. Given it seems to me that it should be pretty straight forward, I'll double check. Witches and Wizards tend to be tricky..." Bowing to the Princess, she curtsied in response and watched Albert leave. Turning around to Dayle, she smiled. "He'll inform the guards on his way to his office, so we're fine to go. I've got... I've got something I want to show you." Blushing a tad, she took Dayle's hand and lead him to the back of the conservatory, where it opened up out onto a balcony with beautiful stone edging. Taking in a deep breath of the outside air, she lead Dayle to the larger balcony, the dining room and indoor pool area visible through large windows. Hitting the main area of the balcony, stairs lead down to a lavish castle garden which lead out to the forest beyond. The very forest Dayle would have driven through to get here.

With a shy little glance up at Dayle, she pulled him closer and looped her arm through his, her long robe sleeve gently brushing his side. A fine pink blush remained on her cheeks as she lead him down the stairs into the gardens, feeling just a little bit special; for once Evita felt like a real Princess, being lead by a nice gentleman - even if she was the one doing the leading around. It was a few moments of silence before Evita spoke once more. "My Uncle loved creating beautiful gardenscapes. Being a Dryad like me, it wasn't hard for him to coax this garden into the beautiful thing it is now. He loved this garden." Staring wistfully out into the garden, Evita lazily lead Dayle around until they reached a hedgerow that separated the garden from the forest beyond. With a cheeky grin, she stopped right in front of it. "Albert and a few guards caught me as I'd accidentally found a path my Uncle made. They've never been able to find it again, because... Well, they can't ask the hedge to give them access." Biting her bottom lip gently in a very 'I'm showing you my biggest secret' kind of way, she unlinked her arm from Dayle's and placed both her hands on the hedge. "There's a little bridge behind here, which leads over the river surrounding the castle." Came the excited voice of the Princess, before she mumbled some words in the Druidic language from earlier back in Dayle's room.

Leaves began to flutter on the hedge, and slowly, a small archway revealed itself, branches and ivy vines winding back. Grabbing Dayle's hand, she dragged him through the archway and sealed it behind them. Shaking somewhat, adrenaline coursing through the Princess's body, she carefully picked up the skirt of her robe in one hand, with Dayle's hand in her other one still. Starting out at a gentle walk, it soon turned into a light jog through trees and ferns, a barely visible walking track their guide, the sheer joy of being around plants and fauna evident on the woman as she lead Dayle down somewhere familiar; the path that lead to the lake. "As you can see, this is a secret little shortcut to the lake trail. I think you came this way when the guards brought you here." Voice slightly breathless, it was clear where Evita preferred to be, since her eyes seemed to brighten just with happiness. Slowing down to a gentle pace, the woman lead Dayle to the stair-case alongside the trickling brook, heading down them slowly with the male. Stopping at a lookout point nestled at the end of the stairs that overlooked the trail to the lake, she sighed happily, face turned to the forest canopy. "I've missed this." She whispered, hands resting on the strong wooden barrier around the lookout as a gentle forest breeze played with her hair. "This is my most favourite place ever. I hope you like it too." Turning slightly to look over her shoulder at Dayle, she seemed almost sheepish that she lead him here. She still had one larger secret hiding inside, but she wasn't sure about revealing that one yet. Maybe after Albert figured out how to let Dayle change, then she'd have a fair reason to show him.

                          || ooc; holy hell, I got carried away there! I hope you don't mind I dragged him around, I really just got so carried away. Plus my mind is in the "ahhh, make everything cute" sort of stage :3 ||
