 Mina walked quietly through the forest outside Clarus Arbor, it seemed like ages ago she had bumped into a witch named Salem. Even now his words stayed with her, whispering quietly in the back of her mind. As she walked through the forest, she watched the shadows carefully. Half of her hoped she would bump into him again, the other half was terrified of meeting him once more. Sighing quietly, she kept on walking, letting the soft noises of the forest sooth her nerves. The moon was high up in the sky ,at it's fullest phase, and gave off a soft light that filtered between the tall trees of the forest. It hadn't changed much since she last time had ventured through the deeper part of the forest, other than a few new sprouting trees and plants.
After walking for a few hours, she stopped in the middle of a clearing where the trees let a little more light through their leafy canopy. She sat in the center and spread out a pile of snack and treats that she had brought for herself and the foxes that lived nearby. They would come out any moment unless someone was nearby, which means she would have to share with them instead of the cute little foxes. Humming quietly, she opened up the first package of cookies and began to nibble on one. The sounds of the forest began to quiet down a little as the night went on, leaving the sound of her own munching as the loudest sound in the quiet little clearing. Her ears perked up a bit as she heard the faint sound of a branch snapping in the distance, angling towards the area the sound came from as she tried to figure out if it was someone walking or just a branch snapping from old age.
"Hello?.. Salem is that you?" She stood up carefully, leaving her snacks on the ground for later, and listened for any more noises. With every passing minute her curiosity grew, letting all sorts of ideas flow through her mind. Maybe it was a person, or a fox, or some other sort of animal. It could also just be the wind, which was much less interesting.

 Kian had been walking through the dark forest, trying to gather up his thoughts. So much had changed in such short time. Athir...Ruria... The guilt gutted him like a fish once more, dropping his remorse-ridden insides to the floor, spilling violently around him. He felt like a man trapped underwater pushing against the current.
He was also hungry... While with Ruria, he'd held back from taking a nibble at hear heart. He'd thought about it, he really had, but he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't take hers before he'd even taken the one he cared the most about. Athir had offered up his, yet Kian didn't want to accidentally take his life. He couldn't withstand the notion of having killed the most innocent thing that had ever walked into his life.
The witch eater hadn't noticed how heavy his footsteps were falling, nor did he even notice the presense of another... He just kept trudging on, wallowing in a misery he had never experienced before. Kian wasn't one for participation. He was an observer! He watched turmoil! Why was he suddenly experiencing it! Angry, he glared at the trees as he walked passed them.
Then he heard her voice. He froze, his floating eye going right over to the girl, seeing those ears, that fluffy tail. So she was a mononoke. Kian had never taken a heart from one of them before... He wondered if she was strong, or tasty...
He turned to look at her fully, his bone mask glinting ominously as the radiance of the moon's light was sapped into it. He tilted his head, like a wolf evaluating its prey. "What's a girl like you, doing out in a forest like this? Don't you know that monsters lurk within here?" Okay, edited, good to go!

Mina turned and looked at him with her head tilted like his. She examined him quietly, he looked odd just like Salem but something felt different about him. Her ears flattened as she made a face and crossed her arms over her chest. "I pretty much live in this forest, you seem new though. Are you lost like others that I have bumped into here?" Her tail swished from side to side as she thought about what could have brought someone looking like him here. Not that he was scary looking or anything, just.. odd. Her ears perked up as she saw his little lantern, she giggled and took a step closer. "That's really cute! Where did you get it?" She smiled wide like a fox as she pointed at the small lantern.
After a moment her stomach growled, she leaned down and picked up a snack to eat quickly. After she finished she held one out to him, it would be rude if she hadn't offered at least something to him. "Do you want something? I mean I feel odd eating in front of someone who doesn't have anything to eat too."
