Roll an Eleven: Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Ugh, canyon field. Clyde could never seem to get a good field. "Let's go Ares, mind your step," He called as he tossed the pokeball at a solid-looking patch of rock.
The Vulpix appeared shortly after, sniffing here and there at the rocks, cautious of loose ones.

"Burn that little Eevee!" Clyde commanded without introduction, "Inferno!"
The Vulpix commanded and with a whip of his multipul tails sent a fiery inferno at his opponent.

Rei darted behind a rock and let the flames waste themselves against the stone. When the flames ended, Rei darted forward, running her fluffy tail under the Vulpix's chin and belly as she passed the other pokemon.

The Vulpix sneezed instead of laughing. That was a strange attack, but he felt his defense lower. He really ought to highten his attack in return but instead his master called "Inferno again!"
Ares obeyed and sent another burst of fire at the Eevee.

Rei spun to the side, avoiding the flames. Feeling loose sand under her paws, she dug her feet in and sent some of the dirt flying at the fire-type.

The vulpix tried to shake the sand out of his eyes and fur but it stung.
"Lower their defenses with Tail Whip!" Clyde called.
Ares darted at his foe, then whipped his multipul tails around their body before darting quickly away.

Rei huffed in annoyance. That was far too many tails. Narrowing her eyes, she resumed sending dirt at the other pokemon.

Ares growled and shook sand on to the stadium floor. He was very tired of that attack and that last one was bad, he was losing energy quickly.
"Inferno again, but do damage this time!" Clyde ordered.
The vulpix did as he was commanded and whirled another Inferno at the eevee.

Ares knew he couldn't dodge the shards of star-shaped energy, and braced himself. He fainted quickly, but was dreading waking up. Clyde was never happy with a lost battle. He expressed this with a few curses as he returned the fallen vulpix and left.
