LOOKS : Parvati has medium length smooth black hair and light sun flecked brown eyes. Her skin is a rich tan-brown in color and she has three black round dots near her cheek bones. Parvati is always seen in rich colorful fabrics by day, and extravagantly glittered rich dance outfits by night. She stands at 5ft 6in.

PERSONALITY : Parvati is an outgoing woman with a love for music. She will dance to just about anything and loves the feeling of letting go to the rhythmic beat that calls to her. When she’s dancing at night she can come off as a flirtatious tease with the guys, but once the music stops she becomes a bit shy and clumsy. Parvati in truth is only open when she’s dancing. The music allows her to block out her fears and do what her heart desires. Once the music stops her worries return and she becomes nervous and shy around anyone who tries to compliment her. Deep down though, she wishes she could find something that would help her to wipe away her fears and be herself all the time

HISTORY : Parvarti was born in the night life, socialite city of Durem. She quickly adapted to the hustle and bustle of the streets and made herself familiar with the people and habits of Durem. One night when she was a young teenager, Parvati snuck out of her parents home and found herself in a night club full of dancers. Hypnotized by the beat of the music she couldn’t help but dance along to the tune. She felt free, unafraid, and un-nervous of anything. All she felt was the music in her soul, and the freedom of her steps across the dance floor. Ever since that night Parvati knew she wanted to dance for a living. So when she was old enough to move out, she got a job at a night club. During the day though, lives out her life single, too shy to look for a partner. One day soon Parvati hopes that she can find a friend or something to care for to fill the lonely void, but you never know. Until that day comes along, she will continue to socialize with passing people on the streets, and dance her heart out in the moonlight.

The giant squid (genus: Architeuthis) is a deep-ocean dwelling squid in the family Architeuthidae, represented by as many as eight species. Giant squid can grow to a tremendous size (see Deep-sea gigantism): recent estimates put the maximum size at 13 metres (43 ft) for females and 10 metres (33 ft) for males from caudal fin to the tip of the two long tentacles (second only to the colossal squid at an estimated 14 metres (46 ft),[1] one of the largest living organisms). The mantle is about 2 metres (6.6 ft) long (more for females, less for males), and the length of the squid excluding its tentacles is about 5 metres (16 ft).

The inside surfaces of the arms and tentacles are lined with hundreds of subspherical suction cups, 2 to 5 centimetres (0.79 to 2.0 in) in diameter, each mounted on a stalk. The circumference of these suckers is lined with sharp, finely serrated rings of chitin.[4] The perforation of these teeth and the suction of the cups serve to attach the squid to its prey. It is common to find circular scars from the suckers on or close to the head of sperm whales that have attacked giant squid

Like all cephalopods, giant squid have organs called statocysts to sense their orientation and motion in water. The age of a giant squid can be determined by "growth rings" in the statocyst's "statolith", similar to determining the age of a tree by counting its rings.


Adult giant squids' only known predators are sperm whales, but pilot whales may feed on them, also.[14][15] Juveniles are preyed on by deep-sea sharks[16] and other fish.

Okay let me stop ya for just a moment to explain what exactly a Fel Essence is. It is something that exists in nature now that shouldn't or even something that already exists that is doing something it normally wouldn't.

Examples: Normally a fire would go out without oxygen to feed it, but Laz's essence is the Eternal Flames, a fire that never goes out no matter what. Essences like these are more abundant than the other because it's typically easier to think of something in nature and then make it do the opposite of what it normally does.

Another example of a different kind of essence is one like Dayo's which is based on a metaphor, Cloud of Despair. Everyone knows the saying, but we also know that no cloud could seriously follow you around and make you miserable all the time in real life, but that's exactly what this essence is!

So if you're wondering what I'm getting at, I'm saying is that glass can be melted and thus can be in a liquid state already in real life. Also I believe there is such a thing as crystallized gas, some sort of rock they found on the bottom of the ocean they are wanting to use for energy or something.

Anyway, now that you have a better idea of what an essence is you can brainstorm better ones. Words of advice though, all essences have to be natural, nothing man-made. Also best to keep away from fire based essences. It's okay to overlap some, but since we have so many of these already, the likelihood of another getting made is low. And lastly, Kyou tends to limit the names of essences to three words max.

Next on the list: Souls! I rather like your squid idea, but the dart frog might already be taken by another quester. I'm not sure who anymore, but you can always check the threads and see who it might be and if they are still wanting it or not. It's not really a rule that questers' can't have the same soul ideas, it's just something most people do as common courtesy.

So in theory, would something more along the lines of say "Poisonous Tea Leaves" be more acceptable or likely as an essence?

And yes, I've noticed that myself.
I'm trying my hardest to stay away from reptiles, plants, and any idea that have already been taken, but there are so many I have to triple check.

I would hate to upset anyone by accidentally copying or treading on their concepts. crying But thanks for the heads up.
I think the tea leave was more an idea to see if it sounded like on ok fel essence.
I'm having a hard time even thinking one up, but I might just leave the essence making to Kyou.

I like the idea of a naturally poisonous plant having a healing effect, but I thought someone already took the idea.

Would a tangible emotion be considered a fel essence?

Something like "Personified Inverted Anguish"

it would essentially have an effect along the lines of this:

Anguish usually makes all around it unhappy, and tormented. However, this is not the case. With inverted anguish, the soul that contains it can temporarily take a moment of anger, torment, pain, or even misery away from someone else by absorbing the emotion themselves. A side effect to this ability is that the soul takes in and experiences whatever moment of emotion they devoured, and the emotion can linger inside them forever if not consumed carefully.
