They, or at least the horsemen, those belonging to the Lost Clans, felt her Fear before she even arrived, burning a deep crimson, each step she took literally dissolving everything around her in a saturation of Fear. Silence.

And then she stepped forward. "My clans, my children, we have won this battle." She was confident, despite all other odds. "Let us make our leave, walk the same path together. Let us burn into them our power, and make them regret ever crossing paths with us." Her eyes flickered to the weakened, vulnerable hunters. "We take what is ours."

Several Lost Clans horsemen had already joined her, cleaving a path through the wreckage. The Head Priestess, with the barest bit of effort, reached the gate, through the shield that no longer existed. As her fingertips touched the silver and runic blue frame, the center of the portal shifted, melting, forming a kaleidoscope of mismatched colour. "Come now, with me. This is only a beginning. I will show you more and I will give each of you, every one who follows me unimaginable power and Fear."

Everything else happened so quickly as the Head Priestesss scrambled through the portal. The horsemen flanking her let out a crazed, excited battle cry, descending upon several helpless Hunters with their blunt weapons raised. The taken did not even have time to scream, to protest as they were beaten and thrown right into the portal. Prisoners, perhaps something more. Scraps. Fodder. One by one, methodically, the horsemen continued to work, simply grabbing semi-conscious Hunters as if they were pieces of baggage.

"We have enough." Medea held up one hand. "That will be more than enough for us. It will serve well for the rest of them as a warning. Now, come, all of my children. Let us continue our path." She walked through the portal entrance confidently, all of the horsemen following.

This was indeed the most glorious of revenge.

Ami stumbled, almost drunkenly, through the forest. Things were still fuzzy, but she only had one thought buzzing in her mind. Protect the portal.

A horseman- a big famine one- grabbed her wrist. She pulled and broke free, but another one grabbed her other hand. They were strong, too strong, for her weakened state. She pulled and tugged, tried summoning Junpei, but nothing happened. He wouldn't come. For whatever reason, he'd gone silent.

She was dragged off towards the portal, despite her shouts, curses, rejections. One hit her over the head, and the lights went out.

It all happened too fast for the dazed teen.

Otto turned only to see a large fist connect with him. The sucker punch landed Otto onto the grouch in a second. He saw stars, dots of light blinding his vision. Before he knew it he was picked up and tossed like a sack of potatoes. He didn't know to where. he didn't know why. He managed a scream before he was tossed, but it cut off as his body disappeared.

Noises, pain and chaos. And then he was simply gone.

A sharp and familiar presence caught Kiwi's attention. He turned to find Medea approaching. Something seemed quite off about her, something the horseman couldn't quite place. She appeared no worse for wear, and yet her FEAR, it was so very volatile, writhing about her, almost as though-

His train of thought was interrupted as she ushered them to the portal. Some snatched up hunters along the way, others whooping and cheering as they hurried to follow. Kiwi trailed at a steady pace, falling in line with his Famine brethren as he passed through the portal.

"Psst."

At first, the students might have thought the tree was walking. Or maybe the fern. They would have to look a little lower.

Standing at the base of the tree was the oddest thing: a small door, as if the tree was hollow. It was very much like how the Weeping Forest in Halloween contained small doors, complete with a little elf at its base.

An elf that looked very much, sans scarf and cape, like a certain type of school secretary. In fact, it was becoming increasingly clear to all students that this was very much their school secretary. He looked extremely nervous as he eyed the remaining Hunters, pulling a few pieces of foliage over himself. It did nothing to hide the blue and white contrast. Insert awkward shuffling. "I won't ask what happened, but please don't follow them. You can come home now, with us. Back to Amityville." Another shuffle. "You are student- er, there are other ways to fight. The school misses you."

The hollow door was wide open, inviting any students back into Halloween, and back into the security of Amityville.

There was always a choice.

She watched quietly as Horsemen began to drag Hunters off to the portal. They were doing...the exact same thing as the Hunters had done to them. Taking Hunters for Jack knew what. To kill them? Do experiments?

Turning her head she looked towards the door and the little elf that resembled Arel. A lot. Whipping her head back to the portal she frowned. She had missed so much and had this sudden feeling of utter failure, Mei was not ready to go home yet. If Eisheth survived she would find her with Medea for certain and the kidnapping of the Hunters worried her.

The rescued students would be fine. They had been recovered it seemed and certainly would be taken back to the school to be cared for. There was no real reason for her to return. Yet. Medea's words caused a great curiosity to bubble up in the back of the ghoul's mind.

Hesitating for a moment, she looked back to the door back to the school then back to the portal. She had to know what else was going on. So she had decided. She would follow Medea and the Horsemen through the portal. With that conclusion in her mind she made her way and stepped through with a heavy heart. She had no clue where they were all going and she could only hope that in the end she would make it back to Amityville eventually. Having gone too far now to turn back.

[entering]

Everything ached. She was tired, confused, shattered.

She hadn't been expecting the fist that connected solidly with the side of her head. There was no time to ask questions, no time to run. She crumpled beneath the crushing power behind the fist.

The voices that spoke were fuzzy, disjointed.

As the thick, blissful darkness consumed her, Sasha was thankful for one thing.

At least Jerry knew how she felt. If nothing else, there was that.

The call of his name had his head turn the doppelganger finding him and wasting no time to hop on his back. Even after all that had happened, he chuckled at that fact. "A bit quick to mount me aren't you?" He meant it only as a joke, missing his own subtle meaning. Alas, Frost was doomed to miss his own double meanings. Her grip was steady as he made his way to the portal. "Your words speak true. This mark is a bane. I came to aid my peers now I wish it removed." He growled under his breath ears going to the back of his head as he saw Medea.

She'd given him this mark with her infernal fire. With her offer. He was grateful yes, but 'loyalty' was not something he'd offered to her. Not prolonged. Not for more than this. Arel was passed with a sad look. He wished he might just return, but the mark was more or less on his skin. He was not a hound to call, nor was he a pet. He was his own, and his trust of the horsemen had faded. With Gene on his back, the wolfos said nothing to his fellow students, only going forward. Forward, to demand his freedom.

The first thought in Gale's mind upon opening his eyes was that everything, in fact, was much too bright.

Everything felt fuzzy, delayed, messy, blurred. He staggered to his feet and swayed unsteadily, almost drunkenly, and stumbled forward several steps as he tried to regain his sense of balance. There was a distinct - and very odd - stillness to his thoughts -

...Jinhai..?

There was no reply. Odd, Gale thought again, very odd - and very unnerving. It was almost as though he could hear - no, feel the dragon sleeping, curled up in the depths of his mind, quiet and unmoving. He had spent over a year with Jinhai's voice in his head - to not hear it made him feel a little uneasy somehow.

But everything was faded, like a photograph after time. He struggled to recall what he had just been doing -

- greywhitefireblazingeverythingburning -

jungle - get to the portal in the jungle -

bzzzzzzzzzzttttttt -

A hand lifted, pressed against his temple. He took one slow step forward, and then another until he was moving at a relatively normal pace, albeit a rather unsteady one. Gale walked - staggered, mostly - in silence, awful, pressing silence, until he had found the portal to the jungle and when he emerged into the hot, stifling humidity, it hit him like a slap in the face. He felt sweat bead on his forehead and he closed his eyes briefly, shaking his head a little and trying in vain to remember what had been going on, what was this about fighting, about revenge -

It was like trying to remember a drea -

Something shuddered, clanging, clashing into his mind, and Gale lifted both of his hands this time, digging the heels of his palms against the sides of his head. The sound jolted unpleasantly through him, and he flinched horribly, letting out his breath in a low hiss.

There was a shout - a familiar voice - and he opened his eyes, blinking in the brightness. Just up ahead there was a head of strawberry blonde hair, a long braid, a curse -

"Ami - "

He took a step forward automatically, anger filtering through the fuzziness, and lifted his hand to summon Jinhai -

- but nothing happened. His fingers remained empty, lifeless, and Gale lifted his hand, staring blankly at the torn white glove that covered his skin. A sense of despair had started to seep into his body, his mind, his very thoughts -

- another scream. Gale whipped around, dizzying himself, and caught sight of Otto this time, the blonde being dragged off into the darkness, into a place where Gale could no longer see him. Gale felt his heart constrict in his throat, could feel the panic rising as he tried once more to summon Jinhai.

Nothing. Nothing at all but a soft, despondent silence and his empty hands.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Mengyao, upon awakening, wondered whether or not it would be allowable for him to simply go right back to sleep.

His body ached rather unpleasantly, and he was relatively sure that he looked more than a little worse for the wear - and most of all, the strange and rather unpleasant fuzziness to his brain was more than a little uncomfortable. The voices themselves were already something he had learned to deal with - mostly - but this confusion was really very unlikeable.

At least, he reconciled with himself, as he got slowly to his feet, he felt a great deal calmer than he had earlier. The madness that had struck a chord within his heart - the anger, the frustration, the desire for revenge - whatever it was, it all seemed to have melted away, replaced only by a strange sense of satisfaction and accomplishment -

- and peace, which was not something that Menygao had felt in quite a long while.

But this too, eventually, melted away, and the realities of what had just occurred began to make their way into his mind. Mengyao lifted his hand and rubbed at his brow, a look of annoyance flashing across his face as he stepped forward, gingerly testing his legs to make sure that they were indeed still functional. He did not know how long he had been...whatever he had been, and although he felt a tad weaker than normal, his strength, at least, seemed to be returning slowly.

He made his way back to the jungle; after all, that was where he was supposed to have been all this time...wasn't it? Somehow he felt as though that were where he was meant to arrive.

And when he did, he was grateful. Grateful, and looking for someone, for the person who had haunted his thoughts during his last moments. But he did not see her straight off, and Mengyao pressed his lips together, swallowing back the irritation and the immediate desire to go and find her. Instead he focused silently on Medea, tucking his hands into his sleeves and lifting his chin almost defiantly.

And then he followed her onwards, away from the jungle and everything behind it.

If this was dying, it really wasn't all that unpleasant. In fact it felt rather...nice, somehow.

At least for the first few moments.

He stumbled through the jungle feeling more than a little disoriented, Ren's wings flapping consistently to keep him upright as he attempted to figure out what the Jack was going on anymore. He'd felt unexpectedly satisfied upon awakening from...whatever it was that had happened with the crystals - a strange sort of peaceful feeling that made him feel comfortable and at ease.

But then it had gone and now he was left with only the confusion, the bewilderment that stemmed from not knowing lay in store for him. Around him he could see other students, horsemen getting up, and somewhere he could hear -

His ears flattened back against his head unhappily. Ow.

Whatever the clash had been, Ren had not liked it, but at least now he could see Medea - and the hunters. Automatically he stiffened, a low growl rising in his throat - but then it was gone, just as the hunters were gone, and Ren let some of the tension in his shoulders ease. He wasn't quite certain whether or not he trusted Medea, but from what he could see there were hardly any options left.

A voice to the side - a whisper - and a familiar face appeared from around the base of a tree, a face that somehow relaxed Ren, in spite of everything. If the school secretary was here, at least that was one thing normal.

Well. As normal as one could get with everything else going on.

But in spite of Arel's appearance, Ren found himself hesitating to go with the secretary, his eyes narrowing after the retreating form of the horsewoman priestess. Regardless of whether or not he trusted her, curiosity piqued at his mind, a desire to understand. His gaze flickered towards Arel again, briefly.

Ren lifted his chin, squared his shoulders, and followed after Medea.

He was alive.

At least, Sparrow thought, massaging his throat as he glanced around the jungle, he was relatively sure he was alive. It certainly felt as though he were alive. Relief swept through him, nearly tangible enough to touch, and in spite of his confusion, he inhaled slowly, breathing in the hot, humid air.

Maybe he could still make good on his promise to Wren.

Around him students were getting up, some swaying unsteadily, others moving quietly, confused looks on their faces. Others still were moving past him, embracing others, pleased at the fact that they were all recovered - somehow, Sparrow wasn't even sure of how.

There was a shudder - a sharp noise - Sparrow could see hunters, and instinctively he tensed, his fingers curling and uncurling, wanting to summon his scythe -

But it seemed he had no need, since seconds later they were gone just as quickly as they had come, and Medea was there instead, a look of triumph on her face. Around her the horsemen were screaming, cheering, and within moments they were all leaving, disappearing through the portal.

Sparrow, however, remained where he was. He glanced sideways, following the low, secretive hiss until his eyes found the little secretary and the door he stood by. A part of him wished to go after the priestess, figure out what she was doing, understand -

- but another part of him wanted nothing more than to return home, to leave this place and make good on his promise to Wren.

He stood still in the jungle, quiet and tense, and tried to sort out his thoughts.

Tybalt was torn. For the first time in his unlife, he didn't know who to follow or which path to take. He wanted to follow Arel and return to what he considered a normal life. But during the time he had spent in Amityville, they went out of their way to keep them all in the dark. After all that had happened, he wasn't sure he could return to that darkness. Not after he had been shown a little light.

But following Medea...

No. He didn't like that option much either. He finished what he needed to do that required fighting alongside them. Mei was free. She could return home to Amityville, back where she would be safe. There was no longer a need to follow the head priestess and yet... Medea had taken captives. The very notion of which made his nose wrinkle in distaste.

Why take captives? By doing so, she was no better than the very hunters they claimed to hate. He didn't want to be a part of that. No. He couldn't be a part of that. He'd be a hypocrite to even consider it.

That settled it. He would follow Arel back, but he wouldn't allow himself to put in the dark any longer. Arel and the rest of Amityville was just going to have to do some more explaining

Tybalt followed Arel back

As though Locke not answering was bad enough, but it had to have happened when the others were getting taken captive.

"Let them go! Stop! Hey! Locke! Wake up already, please!" He practically yelled at the de-summoned weapon, frantically looking between them and the retreating figures. But no matter how much he yelled or pleaded, there was no response from the weapon.

Not a single word.

Her Fear was familiar to Jay, and the warrior welcomed her presence. She stepped quietly behind the other horsemen as the frontrunners carved a path through the destruction. Jay only barely saw the colored portal. Most of her attention had shifted toward the weary hunters. Her fists clenched and unclenched as she waited for the inevitable words. She squealed happily as she lunged toward the white coats. Jay held no regrets as she clawed at a hunter and tightly gripped one of their arms as she helped lead them into the portal. “Ah~ This will be fun~” she noted in a sing-song voice.

--

Wilson stumbled through the jungle. Once in a while he would stop to lean against a tree and rest, maybe lift his head and look around to try to spot a flash of color, hopefully a splash of white. When he found none, he sighed and trudged forward once more. Each step was heavy and sucked away more energy than he would have liked. The walk was tiring, but not unsettling. What was unsettling was the lack of complaining from his partner. Tentatively, he called out in his mind again. Gramps? He might have heard soft murmuring, maybe even a snort, but it was mostly quiet in his thoughts.

But the silence allowed him to try to recall what had happened in the chamber. What was he even doing right now, for that matter. Wilson could sort of remember crystals and a sword. He could remember a lot of white light and fighting too. What else…?

When he finally saw the other hunters, things seemed to sort of click. He scanned through the crowd for a familiar face. Wilson tried to call out a name, but there was a burst of color. Horsemen. He frantically ran forward, tried to summon his weapon. Wilson yelled for Gramps, but there was no familiar glow. His goggles were still goggles.

He could see a flash of strawberry blond—Ami—being taken by them. “Stop!” he screamed, panicking. Wilson kept stumbling forward. He reached out, but he only grasped air. There were fleeting images of Sasha, Otto, and Wash, other hunters he knew, being taken into the portal of swirling colors.

“Where are—?!” He fell forward, crashing onto his hands and knees. Where are you taking them? Wilson didn’t stand back up. Instead he leaned forward, cradling his head in his arms as he thought to himself, he’d done it again. He’d done nothing, absolutely nothing. He tightly pressed his arms to his skull, squeezed his eyes shut. He had been useless. Again.

The High Priestess' Fear. Soren could feel it as he neared the jungle area, and arrived shortly before she did, just in time to see her entrance. And an entrance it was. There was no question that he would follow her, that her path would be the same as his, regardless of what the promises were. Once he saw what was happening he made a move as if to grab a hunter only to hear that there were enough.

He followed after her, not a single shred of indecision or confusion about his choice. He was a horseman, a guardian. She was their leader and a priestess. She was leading them to victory. They would rebuild, grow, conquer. His new acquaintances would like that. And then he would be there, dealing death to the pathetic little fools that had tried to cross them. No more nets, no more horsemen genocides. He stepped through the portal without a second thought.

Sherry followed the noise and she was certain she had seen one or two other figures head the same way she did. It took her longer than she would have liked to reach the jungle, she was still tired. On top of that, Armagnac would not wake. She could not summon the weapon. It was a bit disconcerting, but Sherry had to continue on. She knew that.

And then suddenly, a scene filled with people greeted her. People and monsters. She didn’t even have time to make sense of things before they moved. Several of the monsters descended upon the Hunters…scooping some of them up and carrying them away with them. No…

“No,” Sherry whispered. The monsters were leaving, Deus was free of them. But they had not gone empty handed. More Hunters lost to the fight...while Sherry simply watched. Every ounce of regret she had felt before death came flooding back. Failure.

When Alex arrived on the scene, more pieces of the puzzle were clicking into place, and more memories were unfolding though he still felt a little hazy at best. he struggled mentally to understand what was going on, to remember exactly what it was that had happened, though the more he managed to unravel, the more he wished he could just forget it all again. Yin had been taken. He had gone to Medea for help and she had marked him with a symbol on the back of his right hand. He'd come here, to the hunters island to help retrieve those who had been lost. The horsemen had seemed to have their own agenda, however, and had gone for blood and revenge.

It didn't matter to the zomboil anymore. He had what he wanted. Still, Medea's offer to follow was tempting but...fear and power? All he had wanted was his bonded back. Did those other things really matter? He was grateful for her help, but it was here that he felt like perhaps their paths should diverge. He just wanted to go home, he just wanted to take his bonded back to the school.

A voice, off to the side near a tree, captured his attention and he turned towards it. Was that...could it actually be Arel? The school's secretary? A door, in the tree. An offer to leave and just go back to the school. Alex was divided on what he should do. While he cared little for fear and power, would it not be nice to have such in order to keep his friends safe? So that he would no longer feel useless, and so that he might actually be able to protect those that he loved?

But no, he had felt like he'd gone through enough. His body had been battered, bruised, blown sky high, his mind abused with the torment that thoughts of Yin no longer being alive had given him.

"I just want to go home." He had muttered it earlier, and he was muttering it again now. But then again..."Yin, Medea...she's the one who helped me get here. I asked for her help in saving you. I...I want to follow her." It was a hard decision to make, and he was afraid that he might regret it but...it felt right.

What was shock, turned to confusion. Why were the students following the horsemen? What had happened during her short time in captivity? The doll could only watch as most of the students and horsemen followed Madea through the portal, along with hunter captives. After having been told of the horsemen's actions, Mei grew concerned on what they planned to do with their own captives.

Not wanting to follow them, Mei turned her attention to--a bush? Glancing down, she spotted the school secretary in his attempted camouflage. It was an amusing sight really, and she would have commented, but this hardly seemed the time. With his warning to not follow Madea and her group, Mei nodded and headed back for Amityville with the secretary. She had enough s**t for one day.

[Following Arel]

-----------

Kat arrived on the scene just in time to see the horsemen exiting with their prisoners. One of which just happened to be Ami. Ami of all people! "Bastards!" Moving to summon Xedis, she was stopped when she realized she hadn't heard him at all since she had awoken. Xedis? Are you..? No answer.

Dammit! Dammit! Of all the times she needed him, he wasn't there to aid her. Without a weapon, she was useless in a fight, unless it was just hand to hand combat. But against horsemen--a whole group of them, plus their new student lackeys--it was pointless. She hoped to God the hunter leads had a plan for this.

We'll get you back Ami. I promise.
