Appearance:
Helena is a slight girl with light golden-brown curling hair that she keeps loosely pulled back and out of the way. Her hazel, jade-speckled eyes look out upon her world stubbornly and warily. Her face is slightly rounded, but her chin and cheekbones are a little sharp; her skin lightened from sun and snow, but tough, like her parents and their lines from the northern (and colder) villages of the continent.
Usually at home tending to the garden or the goats, she wears well-worn dresses, sometimes even with roughly mended pants underneath when no one is around to see. She finds it more practical, warm, and comfortable to wear, and her aunt normally gives up on objecting to Helena's outlandish fashion sense unless they are going into town where anyone else might notice her.
Personality:
Helena can be a bit stubborn at times, but she tries to please her aunt and uncle in thanks for being kind to her despite her burdening them. She is social enough when she has to be, but she rarely just bumps into strangers and strikes up a conversation. As a child, she was quite friendly, but after her parents sent her away and she moved in with her relatives, she became less trustful of people. She tries to open up with people but at first it tends to be hard for her, until she's decided she can trust them. For those who have befriended her, she is kind and helpful whenever she gets the chance; still not extremely talkative, but they might be able to hold a decent conversation with her.
Hobbies:
- Wandering and exploring the fields and hills surrounding her uncle's little home, though Helena never ventures into the woods.
- She enjoys weaving long grasses into bracelets and other various things.
- Once Helena is Chosen and isn't wary of going into the forests anymore, she'll explore there a bit as well as collect small fallen branches to whittle at.
Occupation:
She cares for a small herd of goats her aunt keeps and also helps keep the garden and few crops that they grow. Sometimes she accompanies her aunt or uncle into Palisade to try and sell any abundant vegetables or goat-products.
