I thought this would be a cool spot to post amateur films that we've found great, inspirational, or just well done for being what they are. Maybe even give a little review?
My favorite short independent film as of now is Sailor Moon The Movie, done by the SMA (Sailor Moon Abridged) cast about half a year ago. For those who don't know, Sailor Moon is an anime/manga that follows a 16 year old girl who is a princess/soldier of the moon. As for being a film done by devoted Sailor Moon fans and completely run off donations, I thought it was great and hardly believed it was done by amateur designers. The acting was a little eh, but beggars can't be choosers.
I really enjoyed the unique approach to costume and character alterations that kept it more modern and not as cartoonie (sp?). As an old fan, I can appreciate the artistic design and changes to the series to make into real life.
Even if you're not a fan, you should still check it out and see the amazing time put into this film by creative amateurs. It will certainly inspire you to make your own film like it's inspired me! heart
