Thread stepped into a clearing, blinking in the sudden light unobstucted by branches. He had slept late this morning, and wanted to get some exercise in once he had eaten something, but there was no real excuse not to enjoy the day while hunting down something for breakfast. He had a few berries in him, enough to keep scales and soul together for the moment, but the vibrantly-striped buck still wished for a bit more.
It took a few blinks, but once his eyes adjusted to the bright sun, Thread noticed another kin contemplating two rocks a few dozen strides away. Curious, he trotted over to see what was going on and if she needed help. As he approached, he made a small, unobtrusive sound - not quite a greeting yet, but some noise in hopes that he would not startle her.
