It was a perfectly cloudy day but the clouds didn't promise rain just cover and shade from the hot summer heat. With all the huts in the village it seemed more that way at least. Sure there was plenty of room to roam but there wasn't as much breeze here as there was out in the rollings plains. The village had more opportunities for fun though.

Many more indeed and fun was just what this young adult Datsi was looking for in any shape size or form. His hut had been growing increasingly boring and more crowded as the days went by. True there was only six and it was even guys to girls but he had still begun to feel trapped.

Dristig padded through the dirt paths winding through the village head high as he searched around for something to entertain himself. Earlier he'd gotten into a fruit stand. Sticky juice patches still clung to his fur where he hadn't yet bothered to clean off. He'd made a mess trying to get a fruit cause the whole stand to tumble down. He'd gotten many fruits. and more for later as an assortment had rolled into his hut. He was proud with himself.

Frostlin was covered in dirt although it was not visible on her dark fur. She sat beside a rather large hole near the main gates of the village, licking her paw and mumbling to herself. The village gate was shut and locked. Ouch! Stupid stupid stupid... The mischievous girl looked back and forth between her bruised paw and the hole, debating whether or not to tackle the dirt once again. She circled the hole, staring intensely at it as if it would burst into flames at any moment. Sighing, she decided it wasn't worth it. It was never going to work. Time for Plan B. She trotted quietly towards the wall surrounding the village, looking behind her to make sure no one was following her.

Something was coming in her direction, a moving figure. Frostlin stopped in her tracks, inches from the wall. It was a Datsi, and a handsome one too. She had never seen him before, he must be new. New...new new new...that can't be good. He's going to get me into trouble. She attempted to act natural, as if nothing was happening. She planted herself on the ground and twirled a blade of grass, examining it and pretending not to notice him.

Rain, Rain would be nice actually Dristig decided. He liked the rain but there was no taste of rain on the clouds and that meant no water from the sky. It mattered not he supposed it was a day. He paused in his steps to lick at a sticky spot that had begun to pull at his fur as he walked. Once he'd cleaned off the sweet juice spot he went to return on his path of exploration for entertainment. Cocoa Cream was bold like him but he got board with her easily because she was pushy and bossy bad combinations for someone else who was pushy.

He almost missed the black Datsi playing with a blade of grass and even had to glance back after he'd begun to pass her when he actually stopped and looked at her. Someone new. Maybe she isn't bossy. I'm sure she could be entertaining. If not eh it's better than wandering around the village. I've already destroyed one fruit stand I doubt they'd be happy about a second one He tilted his head to the right before deciding fully what his plan of action was. He padded his way over to the female that was staring hard at the blade. Either she was very into grass or she was trying to avoid looking at him. He preferred the last but to each there own. "Hello I'm Dristig, I'm bored, would you like to be my company?" He was very to the point there was never any doubt about that.

Frostlin dropped the blade of grass and watched it flutter slowly to the ground. Without looking at him, she sat up straight, bringing herself level with him. "Very blunt, you are indeed." She gave him a cold unwelcoming stare. "The name's Frostlin, you must be new around here." A smile flickered along her lips at the thought of having a new friend but she wiped it off, keeping her cold expression. She needed him to leave, and fast, before someone spotted her. This was no time to show friendliness. "Now if you can't see, I am in the middle of something very...uh...important at the moment and I need no trouble from you. Hurry along your way." She motioned for him to leave. Her eyes darted to the wall and back to his face. She was sure he would get her into trouble if he stayed, and then she would be grounded. AGAIN! Frostlin somehow manages to get herself into trouble almost every day of the week.

Dristig cocked his head to the side as she stared unwelcoming at him. She's an odd one At him being new he merely shrugged, he was most certainly new to her so it was true what she said. HE had barely caught her glimpse of a smile before it got tramped back down, if he'd not known better he'd have questioned if he'd really saw it but he'd been watching. "Oh yeah something very important indeed. Uh No. I don't think I'll be on my way." He settled back down to sit right where he'd stood. She said she was in the middle of something he'd leave once he found proof of this very important thing. He was not going to be bossed around by another one. It was decided. He would be staying if she liked it or not. Her bossy tone had decided it. It wasn't just cause he was lacking any and all company else where no...

"Stubborn, stubborn..." She mumbled under her breath. "Alright, fine. Stay." And with that, she sat down directly in front of him glaring into his eyes. She would sit here all day if she had to. Only five minutes had passed before Frostlin suddenly and unexpectedly leaped up. "Quick, hide me!!!" She ducked behind Dristig, peering over his shoulder. A Datsi walked past them a few feet away, taking a single glance at Dristig. As soon as he passed, Frostlin came out and sat beside Dristig, relief washed over her. "Whew, thank you." She gave him a little smile, and then added, "Don't ask, you don't want to know."

Frostlin got back onto her feet. "Well, nice meeting you." And then she started to walk away. She had decided that she would go to the wall on the other side of the village. She was sure he wouldn't follow her.

"I could certainly never be called a push over." Dristig grinned at her comment. He liked her she wasn't a push over but she wasn't gonna push him and be overly bossy. It was good something he could admire in a female. She was feisty even the way she glared at him like she was throwing daggers with her eyes. He knew she wasn't pleased at all with him staying. It made him grin, he was winning. Before he knew what was going on though he was no longer staring at the ice blue glaring eyes. She was using him to hide. He resisted the urge to turn and look at who she hid from, he was sure that doing so would give her hiding away and he didn't want anyone interrupting his fun cause this little female was certainly fun.

Already she was trying to blow off what happened and trying to leave him. Oh no she wasn't getting away that easy Dristig merely stood and followed the female Datsi name Frostlin. "If you know me well enough to say I don't want to know then you should know me well enough to know that saying don't ask is just going to make me want to ask." His day just got much better and he wasn't breaking fruit stands in the process. "And it's gonna take more than that to get rid of me. I've decided you will be my company for today."

Frostlin scowled. She walked in silence towards the other side of the village, sneaking a glance at Dristig every once in a while. He was following behind her a little distance away, but clearly not ready to give up. She shook her head, smiling to herself. He was stubborn and bold, she liked it. She decided that he didn't seem like much of a threat, in fact he could be helpful in her plan. She turned around and yelled to him, "Hey tough guy, if I'm going to be your company for the day, you should at least have some manners and walk beside me." She grinned at him.

Dristig grinned she had spunk too. He was looking forward to his day even more. He hurried his steps to catch up to her. She was warming up to him it seemed which made him a little sad but not super sad. He was afraid she'd lose a bit of her edge in being feisty but he'd rather her welcome his presence than scorn it.

His tail swayed as he walked by her. "So now that you've accepted what was always gonna be what was that important thing you were doing. And don't think I've forgotten that hiding incident." He'd worm the answer out of her one way or another if she resisted. Nothing painful because he couldn't hurt a girl but he'd find ways.

"Better." She said as he caught up to her. Frostlin kept her pace fast, she was still thinking of ways to ditch him if she could before they reached the other side of the village. "I haven't accepted anything, I'm merely saying you can accompany me to my destination since you're being so stubborn. Don't think we've become friends and you can follow me around everywhere." She flipped her hair to the side, walking with a slight bounce to her steps.

She brought her walk to a slight trot. "I'm doing something extremely important and that's all you need to know." She ignored his comment about the hiding incident. A little smile could be seen on the corner of her lips as an idea came to mind. Without a warning, Frostlin dashed into the village and weaved between the huts. She zigzagged through the village, traveling fast. She was sure she would lose him. Looking behind her, Dristig was nowhere to be seen. Slowpoke can't keep up. She giggled to herself.

BANG! Frostlin rubbed her head. She was on the ground. She had run straight into a wooden street sign. Who put this here?! What person in their right mind would put a sign in the middle of the road! Humans... She stood up shaking her head.

He certainly couldn't be to comfortable around her that was for sure. She didn't seem to understand a comfortable walk. How could you enjoy the day even if it was a day in the village at this pace Then there she was acting as if she had the upper hand. He nearly chuckled at the very last part of her comment too. Grinning he glanced over at her "You shouldn't flatter yourself. I may need entertainment but I'd certainly not follow you around." Though following you around certainly wouldn't be boring He was sure she loved the attention none the less. If she didn't she would have ignored him completely and then he would have really left her alone. Being ignored was the quickest way for him to lose interest.

Even faster, gosh is she insane Now they weren't just going fast they were actually working. So she still wouldn't explain what she was doing. He liked that she didn't tell him. More fun for him. He began to think of ways he could get her to talk. I could pin her! Or... Mid-thought she dashed off and he frowned as he tried to follow the path she took. He thought he could glance a small black body as it weaved through but there was also some shadows so there was no guarantee it had been her.

He'd given up feeling as if he'd lost her and therefore his entertainment and decided to head home when he rounded a hut and saw the black Datsi right at a sign he could have warned her about had she not tore through the huts so carelessly. "Funny creatures those humans." He called out as he headed toward Frostlin. That sign had always puzzled him but it was a land marker that helped him get back to his home.

Frostlin jumped at the remark. The familiar voice was so easily put to a face it surprised her. She knew he had found her again, and somehow the thought made her feel a warm tingly feeling inside. Butterflies? No... She shook it off.

"You again." Still rubbing the pain out of her head, she turned around to face him, frowning slightly. "Don't you have something better to do with your time? Don't you have friends?" And then a thought occurred to her. "You...you do have friends...right? Don't you?" She said gently, tilting her head to the side.

Dristig had a lopsided grin plastered across his face as he watched everything unfold. She'd tried to run from him and failed. He'd never tell that he only found her cause he'd given up. He'd gotten his active exercise for the day. He stretched while watching her. "I mean I personally wouldn't put a sign there but that's just me, to many run into it." The whole scene amused him even more than usual considering his thought that he'd lost his entertainment.

"I'm like a bad dream that won't go away, kinda like a disease. Am I plaguing you?" He liked this female he was having loads of fun with her. "Better? Probably. Funnier and more entertaining? Definitely not." He plopped down by her when she seemed concerned about his potential lack of friends. Concern!?! Oi... Just another aspect of the female he'd met that threw him for a loop. Concern, feisty, and an assortment of other appealing things. Females were really as complicated as everyone said. He stored her notion of concern away for future use. Such a potential weakness could one day be used if necessary. "Does is look like someone like me would lack friends? He scoffed as if the notion was ridiculous though it wasn't that ridiculous. His "friends" were his family which was big but they were his family.

Frostlin snorted. "A bad dream? HA! Who are you kidding. You're like a nightmare!" She sat down, still lightheaded and slightly dizzy from running into the sign. Dristig sat down beside her, and she felt a sudden urge to scooch just slightly closer to him. What is WRONG with me? She ignored her instincts.

Does it look like someone like me would lack friends? He had said, as if it was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard. His smugness annoyed her slightly. Frostlin flicked her tail and sat up stiffer. Someone's got a big ego... "Well I'm sorry Mr. Popular. Why don't you go hang out with those friends of yours then, and leave me alone." She turned on the spot and sat with her back to him. She fought the urge to turn around and see his face.
