He didn't move from where he was, but instead lifted the rifle, took aim, and fired off several rounds.

Jericho let out a pained roar as he felt a shot from below. Swooping down, he unleashed a plume of fire at the sniper hunter, aiming to incinerate him if possible. He could feel himself wearing down. No. This couldn't happen. Not here. He was too powerful. He could feel it.

The flames, thankfully, missed, Gale ducking to the side, out of sight behind one of the walls of the house. He could feel the heat as it rushed past him and grit his teeth, closing his eyes briefly.

This is my town, he thought back angrily, and spun around, pulling the trigger again.

Another shot. Jericho wasn't sure how much more of this he could take. But why? The power... he felt it. But then he realized, it wasn't quite done unleashing itself. He closed his eyes as he flew, trying to embrace this feeling deep within. There was something there. He would show these puny hunters just how powerful he was. A thunderous roar sounded out in the area as he let the sensation of clarity and strength overwhelm him.

For a moment, he disappeared into the clouds above as he flew up.

And then?

He came back down. Hard. And much better than he was before.

FEAR: only has access to 1 3rd year FEAR

And then it was so much worse than it was supposed to have been.

"F**k."

The enormous, winged creature let out a terrible roaring sound, grey encasing its entire body as it disappeared momentarily and then reappeared, pain ripping through Gale's body as he threw himself sideways, trying to avoid the brunt of the attack. He hit the ground hard and collapsed, wincing as his left arm twinged sharply and he rolled onto his back, lifting his eyes and stared in abject horror at the thing in front of him

With a grunt, Gale tugged the rifle out from beneath him and lifted it, pointing it directly at the creature. From his position on the ground, it was difficult to shield himself, but easier to take aim, and gritting his teeth he fired off several rounds.

This is not what I anticipated.
