SHADOW RUN
The Shadow Run is both the simplest and most dangerous training course that can be run without a golem. A flurry of continuous attacks is what the Sun Division holds in highest respect, and the course reflects that. The course itself is a simple tunnel, reached via portal. Within the tunnel await hundreds of weak, hungry shadowlings. Nothing to worry about on their own, but capable of overwhelming a Hunter through sheer numbers at the first moment of weakness. At the other end of the tunnel is another portal, leading back to the course observation booth.
If you fail: your character is KO'd, but there's always a senior hunter in the observation booth with enhanced bandages at the ready. They should reach you in time. Really. Trained and trusty professionals on-hand 24/7.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights to those who take out the greatest number of shadowlings and go the most turns without needing to attempt a recovery maneuver.
Mechanics
You must get through 5 waves of attacks to make it through the tunnel.
Simply roll for attack as you would in battle.
If you miss, your character falters in their attacking and is overwhelmed by shadowlings.
After 3 successful hits, you may use your weapon's charge attack.
Bonus Mechanics
This bonus is consumable.
The bonus in this course is in the form of "recoveries" ~ these are would-be missed attacks that are quickly recovered and turned into a successful hit. Basically, they can miss once and roll again for an extra try. If you keep consecutively missing, though, and run out of recoveries, it's lights out. These do not equal an automatic pass for a round, you still have to land a successful hit to proceed.
Trainees: 0 recovery
Sun Trainees: 1 recovery
Hunters: 1 recovery
Sun Hunters: 2 recoveries

It was a day before Bix texted Ceres for more training. The jenga had been pretty brutal but thankfully being qualified for the bandages made it worth it in the long run. Lilwolfpard Meet me by the portal. Got more fun training for you. You get to kill stuff Bix was already qualified on this course and in fact had gone like 15 rounds instead of the required 5. He had a much better feeling about taking Ceres through here.

This time she did not fire off a reply to his text, instead choosing in response to grab her coat and take off out of the building she had been in. Last time she needed to get dressed, this time she already was. So he would just have to sit there and wait the few minutes it would take her to arrive. Sorrt Bix, she could not magically fly there, Though her long coat did billow behind her almost like one. "Killing things huh? Why do i have a feeling theres some sort of catch." She managed to say once she approached the Man, practically tackling him in a hug.

Bix was glomped, yes glomped, by Ceres and he made an 'ack!' sort of noise as she leapt on him in a hug. The albino turned a bit pink and hugged her back, even so much as lifting her from the ground a second before setting her back down on her toes. "No catch.. really." He scratched his head a moment. "Well... ummm I guess the only catch is not to miss." He laughed. "How's that sound?"

Yes Bix, you were glomped, dealwithit! "Stop being so tall, Geez!" Ceres squeaked out as he picked her up, she frowned, then she play punched him in the gut once she was back on her feet. It was not a feather soft hit, but she had a feeling the man could take even a bit of force behind the hit.
"Hmm." She looked up thoughtfully she a moment, back down at her fist, then back up at him again. "I think i can manage... or try, anyways. Lead on?"

"I thought girls liked big strapping me-OW!!!" She punched him. Did it hurt? No not really. Did he milk it for all it was worth? YES INDEED. "Ohhh my wound.. ohhh what a shitty nurse.. owww.." He grabbed where his stab wound was, but then kept cracking his eye shiftily to see her face. Yeah he was a troll. "C'MON TOUGH GUY!" Bix grabbed her by the arm, yanked her closer and then shoved Ceres through the portal. The other side was nothing but blackness in front of them. The floor extended about a yard before the black shadows stirred and churned and finally sprung to life upon seeing the challengers. Red eyes and grasping shadow hands reached for them. "Just fight your way to the end!!" Bix grinned as Mina appeared in his hands with a flash. He fired into the mass, the arrows burning the shadows away in enough of a space for him to progress forward. Status Wave: 1 Attack Dmg: 4 Total Shadowlings taken out: 4 Recoveries left: 1

Bix was about to receive yet another punch to the gut for the reply, but instead she soon found herself yanked around and shoved through the portal. No really, she was shoved, and as a result? Pretty much fell sprawled on the ground. He stepped over her, thankfully NOT stepping on her, only to summon his weapon. Thats when she looked up, mouth dropped, and made a rather stupid noise. Whatthehellisthis! Her own blade was in her hand a moment later, as she took a rather large swipe down at a group of them creeping up on her. Eyes flicked up at the door, which was really kinda far away. s**t. "Oh geez, why so i have a hunch this will be another episode like the lazers." Status Wave: 1 Attack Dmg: 6 Total Shadowlings taken out: 6 Recoveries left: 0

"Shouldn't be as bad as all that.." Bix laughed. "Once we get farther in they will start trying to get us from behind so one of us should cover the rear, the other pushing ahead.. yeah?" He had done this before, though it was solo, but Bix was attempting to do his job as a Sun, setting up a battle plan. Of course as he was turned to her, the surge of shadows grabbed him, pulling him into their mass and making his FEAR shield flicker. "s**t!" He yanked back from them, once again on the offensive. "Bix!" She turned around after managing to off a few more shadows in the process. She caught sight of him, easily breaking away from the shadows that almost had him. "..You've done this before haven't you?" With a squeak, and a rather large jump as she dodged another shadow, she stabbed a few more. "If so... i say you lead on mr Sun. "I may have done it.. once or.. " He shifty eyed. "Twice. Well it is the sun course after all! You get qualified for runic torches though so it's worth it. FIRE DAAAMAGE." He said it in an epic video game voice as he fired a lovely hole into the shadows in front of them, pressing forward. "Halfway there!" Bix shifted so Ceres could see the exit, not actually all that far away. The shadows seemed to block it with sheer numbers. "I thought you'd love the unadulterated hack and slash in this one!" "It does have its charm, no brains required!" It should be called the meat head run actually, all you needed was a good swinging arm and aim to make it through this pathway. Or a s**t ton of dumb luck. All of the above? "Lets see if we can make it!" First go even they were not doing super bad... She almost lost her footing for a second there, grabbing ahold of Bix for a moment so make she she didn't fall. She off'd a few shadows next. Bix was a good luck charm in a way. "Whoah.. hey.." Bix snagged Ceres with his free arm when she stumbled, bouncing her back to her feet and with a shift, putting her onto a clear patch of floor. "Closer!" Another volley burned the shadows away, pressing them another step closer. "Not thinking is good sometimes you know." Status Wave: 4 Attack Dmg: 8 Total Shadowlings taken out: 21 Recoveries left: 0

The door was almost in reach now, all in all this battle had not been super hard? Knowing her luck though, she would fail on the last step and get over taken. The shadows seemed to be more dense around here... so it would not surprise her in the least. It was ironic how...well she seemed to be doing in this course. Was this a sign? "But not thinking at all isn't fun at all either." She countered, taking a stab at some shadows. "What if something randomly comes out of no where and required wit?" Bix cleared them another hole, getting himself just to the threshold of the exit portal. "If there is some monster that wants me to be witty, he's getting an arrow to the face, okay?"
