Deep in the forest buried behind thick groves of trees is a small creek. Crickets chirped in the warm summer air. The days were longer and the evening barely cooled down this time of year, but the bubbling creek was often a lively environment. The water housed a variety of little aquatic critters as well as a few additional wildlife critters frequented the creek during the hot evenings to cool off but on spare evenings it was quiet. Near deserted for the additional night company was a frightening sight to the little critters. A mare there but not all there.
Umbra had settled herself down in the soft grass surrounding the creek. Trees surrounded the creek but didn't cloud the view of the sky above. Thousands of stars glittered in the sky so high. If she'd been one interested in looking to the sky for answers it would have been a breath taking sight. However Umbra looked inward when she needed answers. Tonight was one of those nights. She'd felt for so long that she lost her best friend and she'd disappeared from all to think and recompose herself but still she sat in thought on what she should do.

It was a night just like any other he was awake and alert longing to see the mare who stole his heart without trying. How he lost his hear he could never explain the mare disliked him but that only made him fall even deeper for her. Would today be the day they would finally meet again after all this time? He shook out his mane and looked to the stars bright as ever and sighed to himself longing for something to change.
Walking slowly though the forest he observed the dew on the leaves and grass. he was not quiet but he had gotten better at stealth with all his nighttime exploration. The air was cool and he scanned the trees looking for his little shadow mare. One of these nights he would find her just when he did not know.
