Sevilin was ready to put everyone to shame! They may have been one of the last teams to enter, but that was obviously just a handicap so Lazarus and he didn't finish so quickly before everyone else.
"Okay, let's do this!" he exclaimed, moving through the maze entrance with his partner. It seemed to be a pretty standard maze, except for all the mist everywhere which the sea fairy didn't appreciate; it was fresh water!
"Now, which way...?" Hmm, this was a difficult question. "Left?"

Ecstatic that he is finally in the maze, he couldn't wait to see what Kyou had set up for them. He had overheard some of the preparations - fake skeletons, cardboards, potions even. And having witnessed the amount of time Kyou took to orchestrate the maze, he reckon it would be epic. Too bad the scientist wouldn't disclose any of the details to him. Perhaps wanting the firey Sigel to take part too in the challenge?
Of course, hanging out with Sevilin wouldn't be so bad too. Perhaps they could catch up.
"Sure, let's go left." He said in a cheery tone, keeping a hand on the left wall. People say it's one of the strategies in a maze, so they don't get lost. However as they turned the corner in front, they encountered their first dead end.
"I guess right is always the right way, right?" Lazarus chuckled softly, trying to keep their first disappointment in check. "I bet we'll encounter tons more dead ends before we get out of here. Let's go back shall we?"

"Oh..." Sevilin surmised their terrible decision in one succinct word. Well, he supposed Kyou was going to be taking this very seriously. It was hard to tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He was hoping his exploits watching The Labyrinth would have prepared him for this, but now he realized it would take more than a few tips and tricks to get out of here and quickly.
But the sea fairy was up to the challenge, at least he told himself he was. "Right it is then--Oh, look at that." Sure enough, the way behind them was cleared. Sevilin though it strange they hadn't realized it in the first place. Maybe they had just been too focused?

The right turn was looking good so far, they had turned a few corners and passed an opening on their way, but decided to go straight anyway because it seemed the right way to go. At this moment, Lazarus had gave up the left hand to wall tactic as he saw that as rather useless. However, after two more corners, they encountered another dead end.
"No worries, we passed by an opening in the wall earlier, we can go that way." The fire Sigel commented, turning around and heading back to where they came. At least there were options to pick. Would have sucked to be stuck in a maze with just dead ends and no way to go out except the entrance.
"So how are you doing lately? Your hair looked better than the last time we met." He complimented, making small talk as they make their way back to where they came from, looking for that opening. "The shampoo worked eh?" Yeah, he remembered that encounter at Jeremy's place, it seemed so long ago though.

"Oh, haha yeah!" His pale hands came up to his crown, flattening his hair in embarrassment. "There's till some salt left, but it's shiny again! And my hair doesn't fall out anymore!" That fiasco had not been a proud moment in his life and the frei was thankful that only two other people knew it had even existed.
"I need to go back and thank Jeremy for his help..." Lost in thought over his own little problems, the watery raevan followed behind Lazarus without much conscious effort. It wasn't until he accidentally plucked out a long blue strand of his hair that he noticed he hadn't been paying attention.
"Oh, but what about you? What've you been doing? Anything really exciting?" If nothing else, Sevilin could live vicariously through his friend's stories.

Hearing Sevilin's words, Lazarus chuckled softly. Despite the long time that they had been apart, he is still the same little Sevilin that he used to know as a Frei. Nothing much had changed. "I'm sure Jeremy would love to see you again too!"
When asked about his life though, the firey Sigel immediately drew a blank. Life had just kind of like normal lately. But there were exciting things that happened before that Sevilin probably didn't know about yet. Drawing a genuinely happy smile at the thought, he turned to Sevilin. "Well this did not happen lately, but it is very exciting!" A light blush darkened his skin just a little as he considered his next words. "I fell in love with someone! He is a Raevan too!" He couldn't help but blush darker, he still feel so nervous saying that word and meaning it.
At this moment they were not consciously navigating through the maze as much as just wandering aimlessly. Turning corners automatically and just enjoying their little, still so far harmless stroll.

There’s a rustling in the leaves. Thinking it only a small animal of some sort, you probably ignore it. Big mistake as suddenly you are dragged down to the ground by thick vines. The more you struggle the more they seem to want to curl around you and restrict your movement, as if they have a mind of their own. Whatever shall you do?

"Oh!" Well, Sevilin certainly hadn't expected that! Or the fact that the romantic interest was also a guy. He almost gasped over the whole thing, but a delicate hand was gracefully placed over his mouth to stop it. The sea fairy wouldn't have ever guessed Lazarus liked guys--Well, maybe he liked girls too. Of course, that was kind of rude to ask, so the frei would probably never know.
He wondered what Dr. Kyou thought of it and realized that he probably didn't care. He was a scientist! Lazarus' guardian wasn't a backwater, homophobic immigrant like his.
"Wow, that's... That's great! Who is it? I mean, would I know him?" It was hard to say after all the raevans he had seen at the party. There were quite a few he hadn't recognized. "It's not Riv, is i--!" Before he could finish, something grabbed a hold of him from below and pulled him to the ground.
"L-Laz!" He tried to call out to his friend as he fended off the savage vegetation with little success.

Lazarus was looking ahead as they turned another corner when Sevilin mentioned Rivener's name. Red eyes snapping back to the water Frei in shock as he lifted his hands up. He was about to deny it was Rivener but before he could utter a word, Sevilin was... gone? His eyes widen as he stared at the void before him, stunned for a second.
He only look down when Sevilin cried for help. "The hell!" He cried as he stooped low to grab onto one of Sevilin's arm and with his other he tried to pull the Frei's ribbon free from the entanglement. However more and more vines were appearing and one tangled itself around the Frei's other arm. "s**t!!" Lazarus only knew one thing he could do, but he hesitates to do it since he haven't used it in a while. While he was contemplating, the vine had already pulled them back quite a distance. No matter how strong Lazarus is, no matter how much he flap his wings, he could only have so strong a pull without a leverage like legs.
"Oh screw it!" Cursing, Lazarus grabbed onto the thick vine around Sevilin's arm, just a few inches away from the Frei's skin, as he made a small explosion, causing the vine to blow apart.

Something somewhere wasn't too happy by that sudden explosion as it belted out a horrendous high pitched scream. Several of the vines waved about madly before latching onto the Sigel as well. They wouldn't be getting out of this one without a fight.
