Rock stood in the entrance of the cave which him and Addy had called home for quite some time now, he reflected on their life together so far. She knew that he loved her and that he'd do anything for her and he would never repeat the past.
Solemnly he hummed a soft melody. Today he had a question in his heart, a question which he had been thinking over for a long time. In the past he'd faltered but he knew he'd have to man up eventually.
Adela had been pottering about in the cave, in fact it was bigger than she had initially thought, though they had no use for the extra space, she was just glad that it was a dry cave... though there was a lake back there... She wasn't sure if she would ever feel safe in the dark to go swimming in it though... Maybe if she could find something that would light the cavern up? As it was she was being all domestic, everything had been moved around so she could clean out the old rushes and bring in fresh. She had also found an old twolegger pot that was to small to use for anything else so she had filled it with water from the underground lake and put some wild flowers in it from the meadow. The cave smelt cool and fresh now the flowers giving off a soft scent. All she needed was to find some food and everything would be perfect!

The contrast of temperatures between the hot dry weather outside and the cooler cave made him shudder. He turned back to look into the cavern. She was in there somewhere, it wasn't big enough to get lost in during day light, but during darker hours it could be possible. He continued to hum and walked down into the cave a little further, the scent of fresh flowers invited him back in.
"Adela?"
His hum finished with a elongated perfect cadence, the cave gave his voice a little more reverb than it did outside, sometimes he'd sit indoors and sing to himself in a call and response style. The little echoes were always fun for him.
Coming into sight suddenly and stopping looking him over before hiving him a disgruntled look. "Well you don't look like my mother, and your not dying so whats with using THAT name..." She wasn't really mad, she just hated the name her mother had given her, she didn't see anything ladylike about herself, not to mention that she didn't want anythign to do with her real family. Ab had been the one to start calling her Addy and it had stuck, as far as she was concerend it was her name.
Walkng over and nuzzling him to show she wasn't really mad, she knew he sometimes got paranoid he had upset her and she would leave him like the others had. But then at least now he had Ivory around, and he did visit now and then, though he seemed more preoccupied with another of late.

Rock wasn't so much in the real world, and now he had arrows pointed at him labeled with love poison.
"No reason", he chirped,"I was just pulling on your leg."
They both knew that he was a bad liar but her couldn't help his nerves. A rare case of stage fright. This never had been much a problem with him, but this was special.
Looks like that would always send his heart sinking into his hooves but she always picked it up and dusted it off again. Sometimes he wasn't so fast at catching on about doing something wrong, he knew this too well and sometimes felt bad about being so unseeing. He wanted to become more attentive to her and her feelings. He only had two special people in his life now and couldn't let any of them go. In all honesty he thought himself lucky because he met her with no-one on his side, but he wasn't to try and feel too sorry for himself, he knew Addy didn't like it much.
Smiling up at Rock, her eyes shining happily. "Shall we relax out in the sunshine by the river? I'n finished in here other than collecting some food." Nuzzling him again, leaving him the options, this area of teh cavern actually well lit thanks to the large entrance, though she had sought help in trying to give them more privacy with some plants by the entry.
She wasn't so easily hurt any more, she was much more secure in her relationship with Rock now, , they had had some rocky moments, and would probably have others but for now, life was perfect.

Rock always loved how she was forgiving of him, although he knew that at times it must've been hard for her. "We can get something to eat on the way if you'd like." He smiled back at her.
"Let's go."
Addy had put a lot of effort in giving the cave homely touches, it's the little things which made things better. Rock liked that Addy wasn't always down his throat, he could be himself around her. Rock loved having small outings because it was in his nature but he would always tell her exactly why he'd always return to her and their home.
Smiling and nodding, giving him a playful n** before trotting quickly outside, playfully daring him to chase her. They both loved to run, tohugh she wasn't in the mood for running or a race today, she was jsut feeling playful. Giving him a flirty look she turned and started to walk towards where she knew there was fruit and food for them both.

Rock gave a small huff when she nipped him, trotted after her rump. He laughed out of happiness, he'd only see this playfulness when it was just them alone. He managed to catch up and nipped at her tail a few times.
He slowed down when she did and caught up a little more, the metal chains and buckles clinked a little less now, they weren't annoying, just a noise which would follow him sometimes. Her mention of food had reminded him that he was hungry, but her blue eyes and flirtatious looks wiped the thought from his brain all over again.
Her eyes almost glowed, they were the purest blue to him and he could not compare them to pools either because it was cliché and her eyes were probably purer than the water in those said pools.
Tilting her head and looking at him, smiling a little her expression questioning, he was usually much more vocal than this... Rock being all thoughtful usually meant something had troubled him.... "Whats bothering you rock, you're so quiet today?"

Rocks eyes almost sunk into his skull when she asked him what was wrong, but then he regained himself,"I have something I want to talk to you about. But not until we get some food down you!"
He now knew he was skimming over the topic, but it was all about the right time, but then maybe no time was specifically the right time for him.
That made her blink and laugh softly. "Oh Rock I'm hardly starving, you look three steps from a panic attack, it can't be that bad surely!" Laughins softly still she kisses his cheek and gives him a little nudge with her rump before prancing forward a little bit. She might complain about her long hair and it always getting in the way, but on warm suny days like today the caramel colour shone.

Rock's heart began to race, always made him feel a little silly every now and again but it was just to tell him that he should feel relaxed around her.
"I don't know about that Addy. You might laugh at me!!" He blushed under his dark coat, although it never showed, he could feel his cheeks tingle,"you know I love you…with all my heart…right?"
He followed after her and watched her perfect mane drape over her, it always lightened in the sun during this time of year where as his hair stayed pretty much the same but he didn't mind.
Addy gave a pish kind of sound and grabbed his reigns with her teeth rolling her eyes as she pulls them over his head leading him along again, muttering around her mouthful, the words distorted but understandable. "you get some really weird ideas in your head... I never laugh at you." Giving him a funny smile, still holding the reigns. Givving a little tug like she was teasing him with a 'good boy' motion she sped up into a slow trot, giggling as she lead him along to the fruit trees. Thinking later when she could talk better she would explain how she thought hearts worked.

Rock let her take his reigns and followed her with a smile, sometimes he liked her to be in control it wasn't ever like her to not speak her mind. "You sound so funny talking through gritted teeth!" He laughed, he'd mastered the art a little better though practice.
"Oi, where are you taking me?" He followed her intently with his best trot, when they arrived at the trees his eyes glinted. He gave a playful tug back and tugged her back towards him.
Finding herself tugged back over to him, stopping and looking at him, somewhat surprised that the sillyness had ended but smiling all the same, grinning her mouth still full of the leather straps that made up his bridle and reigns, shrugging having gotten to where she was heading, but she wasn't letting him go it seemed.

Rock stroked back some of Addy's long hair and smiled. He planted a gentle kiss on her forehead and said,"I didn't say I was done with you yet!"
Blinking up at him her smile turning shy as she blushes, the heart like white spot on her nose going pink, always giving her away. Keeping hold of his reigns, not sure why but those words made her feel suddenly shy.

He pressed his nose against hers and looked into her eyes,"that's better", he said jokingly.
He moved his head back,"where was I? Oh I know!" He leaned into her ear,"I was just about to ask you if you wanted to be my mate." He put a little emphasis in all the right places.
Her eyes going wide, her nose going a dark pink, the reigns falling from her mouth as she stars at him surprised. Not sure why but having thought he would never officially ask like this, after the mess with Candyhearts she had been sure he wouldn't take the leap again but here he was, surprising her.

Rock didn't know how to react to this,"Addy? Are you okay?"
He'd helped to turn things around for her and he wanted her to know that he was really committed. "I'm prepared to do this for you, but only if this is what you truly want. I love you Addy." Right now they were only bound by word, but he wanted to make it official. He wanted her to be his mate for life.
Nodding, still looking stunned bit then she shook her head to get her brain working again and took a step back. This might be seen as a rejection, though it wouldn't last as moments later she started bounding and prancing while squealing with glee, her answer lost in amongst the giggles and squeals as she gives up with bouncing and flops onto her side rolling around in her giggly giddy happy fit. "Yes Yes yes! Oh Wow Yes!"

Rock was confused, and wondered if he'd said something wrong. He kept his eyes on her and started to assume it was going to be a no until she started prancing about with a squeal and then a happy fit. "It's a yes?" His ears perked,"yes? Yes! Thank you Addy. I promise I'll try my best to be a good mate."
Breathless she lay on her side looking at him grinning. "Oh don't get all serious on me now, I'm not Candy, you have learnt from your mistakes, just be yourself. I mean really do you see yourself wandering off and leaving me with 3 baskets? You don't have to be serious Rock, just be happy, we will be together for the rest of our lives now."

Rock bent down and tickled her with his nose,"nope! Hey! I wouldn't ask you if you were because you wouldn't be you, you'd be her! " He laughed at her question,"no. Even if I wanted you, you'd hunt me down and kill he." He dropped on his side and rolled over like he was dying. "Thank you Addy. I won't be as long as I have you forever and ever…and…ever and ever and ever!" He looked up at the clouds and was now lying next to her.
Giggling. "Ever and ever and ever... Besides I'd have to beat dad to killing you, Somehow U think he pulls of scary better than me with those horns of his." Wiggling a little so she was close as she could get, turning her head to nuzzle him a little.

"Well i know he likes me and trusts me to take care of him. You expect the same from me, but i don't think his reaction would be the same if I asked him to marry me!" Her giggles filled the air and mixed in with his own laughter, he wiggled his bottom closer.
"I don't think your his type... But then I've not seen him with a female so who knows..." Actually considering that for a time, she had honestly never seen her adopted father with a mare at all.
