 The dark red cub was bored. Her mama had gone off to hunt, leaving the three cubs alone with a nanny. The nanny was mostly laying around, occasionally looking up to make sure they hadn't gone anywhere before laying her head back down and dozing off.
The cub sighed and licked at her paw before running it over her dark little tuft of fur. She looked over to see what her siblings were doing. One was just laying there, staring at the nanny while her orange sister hid behind the lioness and looked ready to pounce on her tail. Not feeling like joining in on their game of 'play with the sitter', Kakalina stretched out and took one more look at the sitter.
When she seen that the nanny wasn't looking her way, she slowly slunk off. After all this was her home; she could explore a bit as long as she made it back before mama did.

The female cub bounces around in the tall grass, pretending to hunt her mother whom is laying on the rock, sunning with the little boy curled up with her, and she crouches low in the grass with her butt sticking up in the air with her tail whiplashing around. With a little wiggle of her butt, Okelani emits a small kittenish growl as she pounces on her mother's tail, chomping down on it which got her a swift cuff over the head, causing her to roll away from her mother and brother.
With a pout, Okelani decided that its time for her to go and explore since her mother and brother just wanted to lay on that lousy rock and sleep so with cub-like grace, she trotted away from her small family so she could start exploring. The cub starts randomly pouncing on poor unsuspecting small creatures or insects until she find herself at the watering hole surrounded by huge animals and she slowly looks up with her bi-colored eyes at the elephant whom is standing in middle of the pond.
"... Oh...." Okelani just realized what kind of trouble she just got herself in as she didn't dare to blink while she maintains the eye contact with the elephant while slowly backs into the grass but a flash of red caught her eyes and she broke the eye contact. Big. Mistake. The elephant trumpeted and started charging toward her and the cub squealed while sprinting toward that small red thing which she realized was another lion cub. "RUNNNNNNNN!!!" She yelps as she almost got stepped on.

Kakalina had her nose to the ground, sniffing around to attempt to pick up whatever trail she could. That's what huntresses did, right? She sneezed slightly when she sniffed a bit too hard and wiped her paw across her nose to clear the dust away.
The first thing she heard was a loud trumpeting noise and rumbling before she heard a loud, little voice call out for her to run. She looked up and her green eyes widened at the sight of the elephant. It was so big!
She looked at the ground for whoever had called out to her and spotted a greyish cub, almost the same color as one of her sisters. "Come on!" she called to the cub and started running as fast as her little legs could carry her.

Okelani wills her legs to pump more faster as she looks like she's 'flying' across the ground, her paws barely touching because that's how fast she's running for her own life. As the elephant tried to stomp on the gray cub, she emitted a whimper as she runs along with the red cub. "In.... ground... den..." She pants as she tries to convey the message to the cub that there is a in ground den nearby and that they should go in. She tries to guide the red cub with her body while running toward the den which wasn't an easy feat because she have to keep herself out of the enraged elephant's path.
"Go go go go go go!!" The female squeaked as she barely dodged the stomp of the elephant as she feels her oxygen starved muscles screaming at her and her lungs feels like they are shriveling up but she knows that she needs to keep running or die under the elephant's foot. Her heart is racing and is threatening to jump out of her chest.
I am going to die. The thought flickers across her mind as the cub ran at full speed for her own life and the red cub's life. She just hopes that they both will be able to dive into the den before one of them get trampled. Okelani could feels her legs tremble but the adrenaline kept her going, her bi-colored eyes connects with emerald eyes of the red female. "Den!!" She shouts one word as the elephant trumpeted loudly so she didn't know if the female heard her or not.

Kakalina tried to pump her legs as fast as she can while keeping an eye on the grey cub. She wasn't sure who she was but she didn't want a new friend to be hurt and she was way too close to the elephant. She thought she heard the other cub gasp out words but the only one she could make out was 'den'.
The red cub tried to keep an eye on the other little cub as she tried to look around the landscape for a den. She could feel her tiny lungs starting to burn in her chest as her heart throbbed in fear. What if they couldn't out run it? What if they didn't find the den in time?
She let out a kittenish yelp when she heard the elephant trumpet. Whimpering slightly, she nodded at the grey cub, hoping she understood the other girl properly. Finally she spotted the den up ahead.
"Come on! It's close!" she called, hoping the other female heard her.

Okelani feels that extra burst of adrenaline she needed as she and the red lion cub raced for their own lives and she dove into the den, scrambling to the very back of it, hoping that red female would be able to make it too. Panting and breathing heavily, the cub is all curled up shivering against the dirt wall while her heart is beating so fast. Her bi-colored eyes glazed over for a second as her body struggled to regulate the breathing so her oxygen starved muscles would be able to 'breathe' again and she keeps her eyes on the female in front of her.
"Hi..." Her raspy voice says as Okelani takes in several deep breaths while the shaking slowly starts to stop but she stubbornly stayed in the curled up position because she knows that the enraged elephant is nearby, trying to find the cubs that have found the safety of the in-ground den. The ground seems to shake violently as the elephant ran over the den but didn't succeed in collapsing it, due to the relief of the gray female cub. Her eyes looks up at the roof of the den, silently willing the elephant to go away and she slowly moves her eyes toward the female.
"My name is Okelani..." She shoots the red cub an apologetic look as she looks like she was about to burst into tears because it was her fault that they both are all huddled up in the in-ground den after being chased by a really pissed off elephant. "I am sorry. I didn't know the elephant would be there or I wouldn't have gone there." She says, her voice breaking little bit as she blinks while looking down at the paws, feeling really terrible about this.

Kakalina dove into the small den right after the other cub and watched, slightly terrified, as her new friend curled up as close to the wall as she could. Her little heart felt like it was going to burst out of her tiny chest as she tried to catch her breath and laid down curled tight in on herself.
She tried to send a small smile towards the other cub but she remained in her little space, trying to ignore the shaking her little body was doing. When the dirt started to fall down on them, her green eyes showed panic as she watched the ceiling, hoping it wouldn't fall down on them. She whimpered slightly and hoped it wasn't loud enough for the grey cub to hear.
If they got out of here, the first thing she would do would be to run back to her mama and curl up with her. Then she'd feel safe again. Hopefully Mama would be in the mood to cuddle; though if she wasn't, Kakalina could always curl up with her sisters instead. She just wanted to be back with her family.
When the other cub introduced herself, Kakalina decided to respond, hoping her voice didn't crack too much. "I-i'm Kakalina..." she tried to will the shaking to go away; she could try to be brave. Right? "It's alright. I-i mean we're safe and it's gone, right?"Caitlyn Hellstorm heart It's fine. RL likes to pile things on a lot sometimes. ^.^ I'm glad I still have a few days before I start back again.
