The news had called for a thirty percent chance of rain, the odds weren't that good for rain in his opinion. Thirty percent wasn't even half so how should he have known to plan for rain and not go for a walk without an umbrella, or not to go for outside seating at a small cafe where the only protection was the tiny umbrella over his head?

As it was the clouds were looking darker than they should, menacing even, as they reached high up into the air. For a moment he felt a thrill run through him. He liked to watch storms, so long as he wasn't caught out in them, and seeing this was thrilling even when he saw the lightning flash and heard the low and dull, far off, rumble of thunder. Than he remembered he wasn't at home and he was without an umbrella and he'd walked here. Silently cursing his poor luck he took another glance up at the sky. "I should be alright for long enough to finish an espresso and walk home."

He was hoping that wa the case at least as he settled back into the metal chair and watched the waitress show up with his espresso on a nice little tray. Watching the cup come off the tray and be set in front of him he nodded his head once, in silent thanks, and lifted the drink to his lips. It wasn't so hot right now, seemed like the storm arriving was the cause for that, so a hot drink wasn't such a bad idea. Relishing the feel of the heat from the cup, and the liquid inside the cup, he took a slow sip while his right leg crossed his left. The perfect picture of comfort, even as he glanced once more to the incoming storm - it looked nasty.

It was perfect weather, if anyone asked Michael Gallo. Maybe it had to do with the fact that storms were in his blood, being a knight of Jupiter and whatnot. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he was a former Naval officer and living with water in any form was second nature to him. Either way, if the skies opened up to drown them all, he would be perfectly content.

That being said, he also took advantage of the sidewalks being not as crowded, and donned running shorts and a teeshirt with the sleeves rolled up, and decided that now would be a good opportunity to run. He was en route for his home when he caught a glimpse of familiar hair.

"You're gonna get wet if you hang out here too long," Michael pointed out as he came to a stop next to the chair Alexandre was currently occupying. "Unless you like being soaked… I don't think your designer shoes will last, though," he added, obviously teasing.

His attention pulled away from the storm the blond lifted a brow even as he set his cup down. "No, they won't fare well." Was the simple answer. He hadn't thought to wear shoes which could handle a downpour, no reason to. The sneakers were soft and had suede in some areas, suede would would wind up ruined.

Jiggling his right leg he tilted his head a bit, just enough to look serious and not cute. "I'll buy a new pair - simple answer to the problem." And it was as simple as that. A pair of shoes, over a hundred dollars, and he'd simply replace them if it was needed. It looked like a replacement pair would be needed with the way things seemed to be headed. Flicking his eyes to the incoming clouds, noting the flashes of lightening in the clouds, he turned his head back down and to his drink. Lifting it he took a sip while using his other hand, the left one, to motion to the seat opposite him. "I wouldn't think this would be good running weather." Most didn't care for running in the rain and being soaked.

"Ah, you forget where we met," Michael grinned, a sparkle in his eyes. "I love water." It was a simple answer. Maybe too simple. Sure, there was the chance of being electrocuted, but he highly doubted that lightning would make it all the way to the ground before hitting one of the much taller buildings.

He lifted his leg up behind him to stretch, not wanting to loose the rhythm he'd had going, but also not wanting to pass Alexandre by without so much as a word. That wouldn't be very nice, after all.

"How about it? I'll walk you home? Maybe we'll beat the rain," he suggested, offering a hand to help the young man out of his chair. "You could just take your shoes off, you know," his grin grew wider, amused by the solution Alex had for his potentially ruined shoes.

"More so than most it would seem." A small smile lifted the corners of his lips. Yes, it did seem the other liked water more than most people, more than anyone he knew at least. Alexandre himself could swim, did, and tended to prefer pools. The beach was not only a distance away but that and the sun left him burnt, and peeling. He disliked the beach really.

Rolling his eyes at the offer he glanced down to his drink before sighing, wellthere went savoring his drink. Gulping the scolding liquid, pulling a face in the process, his cheeks puffed out from the amount of liquid he downed and how quickly as he worked to get it all down before it burnt his mouth too much. Taking the offered hand he stood, setting his cup down, and pulled his wallet from his back pocket. Money, more than enough, was pulled out and set down under the now empty cup.

"Are you suggesting I walk, in my socks, home and dirty my socks with whatever may be on the groud?" He questioned, the question sounding as if he really couldn't believe the suggestion made. "I'd rather ruin my shoes than walk about near barefoot on who knows what. Now, since you've got me up I suggest we get going."

"Oh please, you stood up with your own free will," Michael pointed out, snorting lightly at the high and mighty attitude he was receiving. Okay, he knew it could be a lot worse than it was, but still. Normally it was him giving the attitude to others, so getting it instead was… not always what he wanted, but it changed things up.

"Yes, I'm suggesting you walk without shoes. Don't be such a spoiled baby," he laughed. "You can look where you're walking. I'll take my shoes off too if it makes you feel better."

Not that he expected Alexandre to agree, but it was at least the offer was out there.

Another flash of lightning cut through the clouds above, and the first sprinkle of rain started to fall.

"I did, but you offered your hand - it would have been rude to turn down the offer." Smiling up at the other as he spoke. Maybe he even lowered his eye lids, just a bit, as he tilted his head up toward the other.

"Ah, you forget I am spoiled." Though not as much as others. He would freely, and honestly, admitto having grown up spoiled. What other teenagers, who had a thing for plants, could say they had a green house? Or had a Lexus at his age? Not to mention the shopping sprees he went on rather frequently. He was spiled, had been, and he knew it. Even if he now had a job and was working for his money he still had a card that was connected to his parents bank account. "If we can hurry I'll agree to go shoeless - but you do so also." And even as he said that he was lifting his right leg and bending it at the knee he worked on untieing and removing the Guuci sneaker. Over a hundred dollars? Try over four hundred dollars for the pair. But he had good taste in clothing.

It was amusing that Alexandre would be so willing to go along with Michael's suggestion. But he wasn't just dragging him along like he would some other naive brat. Alexandre intrigued him, and it was always nice to find someone who was even more spoiled and pampered than himself.

"Alright, off come the shoes," Michael agreed, leaning over so he could pull off the shoes and then his socks. Not that he cared about them getting ruined, but because seeing Alexandre with bare feet was just priceless.

The rain started coming down more steadily after a few minutes of walking, and Michael lifted his arms to the sky, as if he'd never experienced anything more amazing. Dancing in the rain wasn't exactly something he saw himself doing, but the freshness of the rain was nice on his face. It was almost like sea spray if he closed his eyes.

"You're not going to be upset about your hair, are you?" he teased once more. "We could always grab you a poncho from one of these street venders."

His socks were white so of course they came off. God it felt odd to be standing on the sidewalk barefooted, and it wasn't like he had ugly feet either. It was not something he'd ever done. Alexandre as a child had been the one dressed in little sailor suits by his mother, hat included at times, and running around a nice large lawn with shoes on. He'd been the one who didn't climb trees but sat under them.

For him the rain was nice to watch but being caught in it...not so nice or fun. The coolness wasn't bad but his clothing sticking to him and his bangs plastering themselves to the sides of his face were not things he liked, it was why he disliked being out in the rain. Turning to look at the other he paused and stared. He really did like the water, in all it's forms, didn't he? Feeling himself smile more he shook his head at the question.

"I'll towel dry it and brush it out when I get in." The normal ash color of it had darkened thanks to the rain and his bangs dripped onto his clothing, wetting it further. Plucking at his shirt to pull it off his wet skin he brushed the negative thoughts away. Right now seeing the other the way he was made this worth it. "Are you just walking me home or will you be staying?" He asked, almost hopeful.

"Is that an invitation?" he wondered, teasingly. He certainly wouldn't mind staying over for a little while, but he also didn't want to get too carried away. This wasn't exactly the typical relationship he was used to, after all. The last time he'd tried dating one person for an extended period of time was when he'd been in high school. Once he'd joined the Navy, relationships were a little more difficult to maintain, so he didn't bother.

Now, this strange young man... selfish and arrogant and nothing like he'd expected, had caught his attention in a way that he couldn't just ignore.

"Just take it off," he suggested as Alexandre fussed over his wet shirt, grinning in amusement. This wasn't exactly what one would think of as a traditional date, but he supposed it was close enough.

We can try to wrap it up in a couple if you want! Leave it open ended, even? <3

"Did it sound like an invitation?" He questioned with a smirk up at the other. His shoes hung by there backs off his finger tips, which were curled a little like hooks, the socks stuffed into his shoes. His poor shoes would still need to be dried out when he got home, the one big problem with cloth shoes, and that could take hours. His socks would just get tossed into the wash with the next load of wash he did.

"Because if it didn't sound like one then I really must try again and perhaps word it better." He stated with a raised brow, questioning the other, as he waited for a response. Would he really need to be more forward? He was quite sure he didn't, that he'd made himself clear enough. For as new to dating as he was he also wasn't completely clueless or stupid.

At the others suggested solution to his shirt issue he shook his head, cheeks coloring a pink hue. "Not that my shirt, soaked as it is, does much but it still helps a bit." Not to mention he was not about to go parading about topless for everyone to see, even if he might do that at home even with Lily and/or Johnathan home. But that was his home and people he knew. "I wonder...was that a suggestion made just for your own pleasure and not because I obviously dislike my clinging shirt?" He questioned with amusement clearly written across his face.

Michael shrugged, amused by the questions he was getting in response to his own comments. He was in a good mood, and while this relationship with Alexandre wasn’t like the other ‘relationships’ he was used to, he thought he might be able to get used to it. Alexandre was an interesting guy, after all. A bit haughty and prideful, but weren’t they the same in that respect?

“Well, in that case, I hope you have something good in your freezer for dinner. Unless you want take out?” he laughed, taking another moment to stare up at the sky. He felt a little silly, acting like a child in the rain, but it had been a while since anything too horrible had happened, and he figured he should be happy while he could.

“If you’ve got ravioli I’ll even cook,” he offered, clearly meaning for it to be a big deal of him to do the cooking. He wasn’t the best around the kitchen, but he could at least throw something in a pot of water.

"I don't use a microwave if I can help it - I actually cook. But since I'm not in the mood for that I'll opt for take out. Any place you'd suggest or anything your in the mood for?" He questioned the other as he walked along side the other. Like the other was in a good mood so too was Alexandre. He'd never dated and this was actually going better than he'd thought it would, he'd thought that his newness to dating would show and he'd be treated like a clueless child.

Surprised by the others offer he stared for a moment before he shook his head, in order to clear it, before answering the other. "Yeah, I have those." They required a pot of water - not a microwave. "But sauce will need to be made...if you think you can handle that..." A challenge but also he was teasing the other, Alexandre could certainly make sauce himself. "Unless you want me to do that?" He questioned as the smirk, teasing as it was, turned into a smile.

(We should work on a new rp between them with a run in. It's been a while - almost a year.)

”Great!” Michael grinned when Alexandre confirmed he had the necessary ingredients, before laughing and shaking his head. “I can take care of the sauce,” he added with a small snort, amused that he was being challenged on something so simple.

“I’m Italian, after all... knowing pasta and sauces is in my blood.” Of course that was just an exaggeration. He wasn’t nearly as good a cook as his mother, and he knew for a fact that his younger brother couldn’t cook to save his life. But something as simple as throwing something in some water and making sauce? No big deal.

“I hope you have tomatoes in your ‘fridge,” he teased back with a grin, looking up at their destination as they drew closer. Just in time, too. The rain was starting to pick up, but Michael hadn’t even noticed the distance they’d crossed as they talked and discussed dinner. “Go get changed and I’ll start dinner. I promise I can find my way around the kitchen,” he said with another laugh, letting Alexandre lead the way up to his home.

For Michael, this was one of the first times he’d actually opted for not eating out for a ‘date’, but with Alexandre, he felt as though he could make those kinds of exceptions.

"Is it now?" He stated raising a fine brow at the other. "Well, I have the fresh ingredients. So you can put them to good use." He'd just go out back to his greenhouse and pick whatever was needed by the other. He was really proud of his greenhouse and just what he had growing there, the variety of plants and then there were all the herbs he had growing as well. If he had more of a backyard he'd be growing more things, maybe even a fruit tree or two.

"I have fresh ones. I grow them myself so yes, I have some." He stated as he noted they were approaching his home, and the rain had picked up. He was now dripping water from his hair, drops clung to his eye lashes, and he was a mess. "While the sauce and pasta make you should grab a shower as well and I'll dry your clothing if you want? It's better than you sitting to eat and freezing - you'll catch a cold." He'd make his own shower as fast as he could in order to be downstairs and turn things off when done/warm enough so the other could shower, and he could get the clothing into the dryer.

When they got up to the door he pulled out his key and unlocked the door and let them both inside. Somewhere in the house he could hear Cadha already. "I'll leave you to finding the herbs you need in the greenhouse out back?" He asked.

Guine

(Plot for it? I can always start. Something happening at this point. And I think we may have had something else stated and we can do that but also we can start something happening now.)

Michael raised his hand to his forehead in salute as he made his way to the back of the house to find the herbs and vegetables in question. He’d almost forgotten that Alexandre was a garden connoisseur of sorts, but his memory was quickly jogged upon seeing the inside of the greenhouse.

While Alexandre showered and got changed, or whatever it was he was doing, Michael had little problems finding the bag of ravioli in the freezer to toss into the pot of water, and had little trouble using the ingredients provided to create a sauce. Fresh herbs were always better than the prepackaged stuff, but sometimes that was all he’d have to work with.

“Make sure you stir it, and don’t let the sauce boil!” were the instructions he left with the young man as he traded places with him to run and get a quick shower. He didn’t mind being wet, but he also would rather not end up sick for such a lame reason as staying outside for too long.

His greenhouse had tea plants, herbs, orchids, roses and a variety of other things. Really it was full of flowering plants with only a handful being useful for food, others were useful but only for medicinal uses. He really had a green thumb it seemed, he even had a small sink set up in the greenhouse.

While the other worked on cooking he worked on warming up and yanking on clothing in his room. When he came downstairs it was while pulling on a shirt. "Of course. Have a good shower." A smile and off he went into the kitchen to finish things up. Grabbing plates and other needed things to set the small kitchen table with.

The shower was quick and waiting for dinner wasn't much longer. It was strange for Michael to be in the house of someone who, for all intents and purposes, was still a kid. He was young and inexperienced and haughty and spoiled, but he was a good kid.

And not someone Michael wanted to hurt by getting close.

"Thanks for dinner, but I should be going. I have papers to grade," he explained after helping to finish cleaning the dishes. He couldn't push away the feeling that he was making a mistake, but about what he didn't know. Michael didn't wait for Alex to argue, instead collecting his things and heading out the door and into the night.
