Percy glanced at his surroundings, taking in the beauty of the place his feet had carried him to with a reverent awe.

"...Wow." He couldn't help but say it aloud.

He headed forward, through the green moss and up to the water's edge. The water was clear. Really clear. In fact, you could see straight to the bottom of the river, the optical illusion of the water's surface making it appear far shallower than it truly was. He tugged off his shoes and socks and waded in, not very far really, to ankle height. The water was cool, but not uncomfortably cold as it lazily drifted over his feet and through little eddies made by his protruding ankles.

Frankly, the place was so darn peaceful he'd be content to spend the entirety of the vacations just standing there.

Percy jumped as a large splash cut through the peaceful gurgling of the river. What the hell? He nearly fell over, slipping and stumbling as a result of his aforementioned jumping, but managed to, thankfully, keep himself erect. Darn his socks, it was so peaceful, and then some ragamuffin ner do well just had to go and wreck the ambience by jumping in the river didn't they?-

Actually, now that Percy actually looked at what was going on, it appeared that a girl had just fallen into the river. What led him to believe she had fallen in was the fact that she certainly wasn't wearing bathing attire, unless she had just decided that it would be worth it to take a swim anyways.

But if that was the case, she certainly didn't seem to be enjoying it much.

"H-hey!" He shouted, hurrying towards the girl. "Are you... are you okay there?" Stupid question really, but at least he would know if she was just going for a swim or if she was actually in trouble by her response.

Well that certainly answered that question. Percy dove for the girl, doing everything he could to bring her head up out of the water and struggle back to the shallower parts of the river with her in tow. Thankfully, with the river's current being as lazy as it was, this proved to be a much easier task than he first expected. It was a good thing he was a good swimmer as well...

He released the girl as soon as they both made it to shore, rolling over onto his back in the cool water and breathing heavily from the exertion. Well, so much for his phone... and his undies. He was definitely going to go back to the apartments and change after this... Oh wait, right! Focus, was the girl okay?

He turned to her, and blushed slightly. She was... well, very cute. He attempted to shake the annoying thought out of his head so as to focus on the matter at hand.

"Sorry." He panted. "Wasn't sure what you were up to there. Should've noticed... sooner... ah, you alright?"

Well, that was an intriguing response. Percy blinked as the girl turned away from him. She thanked him, but it almost seemed like she didn't want to look at him. Was there something on his face? He self consciously wiped a soaked forearm across his mouth before realizing that there was no way in hell that any sort of dirt or stain could have survived the swim he had just had. Well, at least he didn't have to worry about not looking her in the eyes when she wasn't looking at him.

"You're very welcome." Percy said. "I'm ah... always glad to keep someone from drowning. Drowning probably sucks." He scratched the back of his head and looked at his soaked shirt. "What... er, well, maybe we should go find a doctor or... nurse, or some sort of medical... bloke, to ah, check you out. I mean check up on you! I mean, make sure you're alright." He sighed. Well that sounded real clever didn't it?

Percy felt an uneasy feeling grow in the pit of his stomach as the girl slowly turned to look at him. What was with this girl? Maybe the shock of the whole ordeal was addling her brains...

Yeah, that definitely had to be what was going on here. Especially after her most recent actions. Percy could feel his face grow hot as the girl moved in past his personal space and right up to his ear. "A-ah, w-well, ah, that is, huh. I-I wouldn't you know, say that you owe me anything, per se. I was j-just well, ah, doing what any decent sort of... person, would er, do you know?" He couldn't bring himself to move. The extreme awkwardness of the situation had frozen him in place, keeping him from even turning his head. So he stared straight ahead, out towards the river, his face a bright red with his brain running around in circles inside of his skull at a million miles per minute.

"ah... ah... ahem, I think you may be suffering from some... well, shock really. Almost drowning, or actually feeling like you're almost drowning is a rather shocking thing. Y-you may not b-be... thinking clearly, are you sure you're alright?"

"OKAY." Percy blurted, sliding (or the closest thing he could do to something like that on the riverbank) away from the girl and shoving himself up to his feet. "What the hell? What are you- What are you doing? I think you may need to just... just hold up. Take a breather. Think about what you're doing." He blushed and looked away from the girl. "A-and, who you're doing it to. Trust me, I'm not your type. N-not that I don't think you're... cute... look, You don't even know who I am! I could just be some... some random guy who isn't... who's a jerk or something. I mean, I'm not, but I could be you know?" He couldn't think straight. The only real tangible thought he had had something to do with the sirens from homer's "the odyssey"

"Okay. Okay. I'm just gonna... yeah." He sat down again a short distance from the girl, this time facing her, though his vision was focused on her chin for the most part. "What's, ah... look you really don't owe me anything okay? I just did what anyone else would do. You were drowning, and I, well, rescued you. Definitely no need to feel indebted or anything alright?"

Percy could literally feel his brain going numb. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. He swallowed loudly. "Fate?" He said meekly, trying not to think about how severely creepy that would sound in any other situation besides this one. Yeah, a girl telling you that your meeting was fate was probably a warning sign in most cases, but it had in fact been a fairly lucky coincidence that he was in the same area as her when she fell in the river... unless she fell in on purpose, which didn't seem likely in all honesty. "Sure... if you, well, believe in that sort of thing." He shifted uncomfortably as she began crawling towards him again. Why was she crawling? It was really making him feel... uncomfortable.

He was starting to contemplate just looking her in the eye so that he could deal with her with a brain that wasn't attracted to her. It was tempting, but he decided against it, still hanging on to the "she's in shock" theory, and not wanting to freak her out any more than she possibly already was. "I-I ah well erm the thing is actually as a matter of fact now that you mention it I- I- would say well very probably. I mean... well yeah, there's certainly a... rather large amount of cuteness... in the vicinity. Annnd it's definitely not coming from me." He babbled. He was definitely flustered. He could tell because he had stopped being able to form coherent sentences.
