Vanni was raised beside his mother, who made a living by performing in front of crowds wherever they chose to stop. He learned much from her, such as how to dance and how to play the flute, and he aided her throughout their wanderings by putting on shows whenever possible. Together they lived decently, although they never stayed in one place for more than a few months, and were constantly striving for a greater purpose. His mother had a handful of lovers, though most were never serious suitors, and he never payed much attention to the men as they entered and exited his life. Instead, he would choose to focus on his odd, but very useful gift of being able to manipulate the earth. This ability also allowed him to speak with animals of several kinds, so he spent a good majority of his childhood learning about different species from his own.
At some point, he and his mother passed through a dragon clan, treating it as just any other place to perform and earn coins. When his mother took another lover, he paid the man as much attention as he did the rest, which was just feigned politeness. Despite that stay being one of the longest, the two elves moved on, Vanni completely ignorant of the fact that he now had a little sister and his mother no longer willing to give her time to her dragon lover.
Eventually, he chose to break away from his mother and pursue a future on his own. The woman gave her blessing and they seperated, only seeing each other occasionally for years afterward. He continued to perform occasionally, but he chose to spend most of his time running a shop in an elven village. However, after several years, he recieved word that his mother was ill, and he rushed to her bedside in hopes that she would recover speedily. Unfortunately, she never did, and died within the year. While he was heart broken at losing the person he'd been closest to, she'd told him a few interesting things that he knew had to come from guilt and worry. Among them were simple things, like where she'd buried money; but the most serious item was the knowledge of his sister, who was explained to be the mixed daughter of his mother and the dragon man she'd loved all those years ago. After being told this, he was directed to a small locket, an item the dragon had given her, and was instructed to find the girl, named Vera, and give it to her.
For years, he's searched off and on, but he didn't managed to learn anything of Vera until coming across a dragon at the bottom of a mountain. After explaining his intentions, Vanni was led to the dragon's clan, where he was told of his sister's current wearabouts. Now he's chosen to take up residence in the Capital City, and relocate his shop there.
Personality:
Vanni tends to be easy-going and very sociable. He doesn't mind working hard, but he will have lazy days every once in awhile. Many call him a flirt, but he defends the title by explaining that such an attitude helps him gain more money during shop days and performances.
Hobbies:
Beyond his duties as a shop keeper and performer, Vanni spends most of his time practicing sword play, or working to master his abilities with the earth. He isn't a big fan of sports, but he does enjoy spending an afternoon swimming.
