In the eastern area of Russia, near Siberia, lies the (fictional) city of Chernigrad. Called the "Moscow of the East," it is the second largest city in Russia, and, true to its name, is the largest city in the eastern region, and is hundreds of miles from another town, making it very isolated. So, it was no real surprise when land contact was lost for a few days. It happens every now and then, and honestly, it made no difference in Chernigrad's connection to the rest of the world. However, days turned into weeks, and suddenly, the problem was compounded when Chernigrad went completely dark-literally. Cell phones, land phones, internet servers...if it was in Chernigrad, no one could access it. Even satellite images were mysteriously fogged out during the day, and any nighttime pictures showed nothing but a blank void where the city was supposed to be. Finally, the Russians sent a detachment of troops to Chernigrad to investigate. They never returned. However, just before contact was lost, a hysterical message was received by the FSB. The soldier in the message was frantic, speaking of "living corpses" and "absolute darkness." He said that the entire city seemed to be trapped in an envelope of dark, and the only light came from their flashlights. Radios were useless, and the city itself was in ruins, as if a large-scale war had been fought in it. The man continued, but it was obvious he was going insane. The message ended with vicious snarl and a blood-curdling scream, making the soldier's fate pretty clear. Something had killed him, and whatever it was, it was not human.
That's where the Legion comes in. We've been given a contract to get into Chernigrad, find out what happened to the Spetsnaz team, and determine the nature of the threat and hopefully put a stop to it. We will insert by helicopter, being flown by yours truly, at the train station in the eastern side of Chernigrad, and make our way to the financial district, where contact with the Russian team was lost. I will fly cover in the helicopter, but everyone else will be on the ground for this mission, regardless of branch.
So, if you're interested, reply!
