He raised an eyebrow at the way Mori told him he didn't have the need to apologize. Because just a moment ago the boy had asked him to tone the swearing down, hadn't he? He had already decided that this boy was strange, but the way he so caringly spoke at the moment was a bit peculiar. Maybe he just read too much into it. He had a way of thinking too hard on something, getting lost in his thoughts on a subject that was useless and truly had no meaning to a point where he was practically dragged into another world. A world with many Marcuses, all sitting around a giant table snapping at each other about useless little things. Did he mean that this? Of course he didn't mean that, you idiot! So he just frowned softly, wandering though the halls at a slower pace so small little short-legged Mori could keep up. But when the boy spoke about being sent to a wrong place, he snickered.
"Did you just admit to belonging here?" The redhead asked with a small hint of a smile, almost stopping completely when he asked the question. But he noted a sign and started off again, pulling Mori along with him mentally. Not physically, of course, he wasn't much of a touchy person. "And it's alright. I mean, I won't ******** swear if you don't like it. Like, that's lame of me." Because maybe he was rude, but he still respected people. If they were worthy of it. He didn't even notice he had let one slip there, and it was obvious as he turned into two large double wooden doors. "'Ere we go."

Eyes flitting around the halls as they approached the library, Tetsumori paused, head tilting to the side as he thought. He did admit to being another student to a delinquent school, didn't he? "Apparently fighting back against a police officer counts as a delinquent crime." The small boy shrugged his shoulders at that, confused. Humans were so weird. It wouldn't matter if it was just a normal civilians' brawl, but when someone from a task force is involved it turns into a crime. What a weird set of laws... Shaking his head, Tetsumori gave a playful sigh - well, as playful as he could. "I guess I did. But, I think I belong here more than those love-crazed teenagers groping and practically "doing it" to each other in a public place." He pressed his lips together at that, pulling a small face. It was completely indecent! They could have gone somewhere else to do such things, yet decided to frolic with each other out in the open. He furiously shook his head to clear his thoughts when Marcus' voice rang out in the silent hallway, a small mix of a pout and a frown forming, "But it was wrong of me to decide what you say or don't say. If you feel comfortable cursing then I shouldn't hold you back from that," he ignored the swear, using that to his leverage, "it comes natural to you, so I shouldn't block off something you're so used to."

Marcus raised his eyebrows at the first thing he said, smirking softly then. Fighting back against a police officer, huh? He wanted to know more, then, why? When? What had happened previously? Did Mori know what he was doing when he did it? Did he regret it? But instead he just grinned over to him, snickering softly at his description of the 'delinquents' roaming the halls. "You don't fight the po po, man." Marcus rolled his eyes, already wandering through the library, scratching his head. There was only a few other people here, including a librarian who appeared to be sleeping. "I expected you'd be here because of arson, or something peculiar like that. Theft. Small people are always really good at sneaking around." He offered a shrug, glancing back to Tetsumori as he made his way to a shelf, fluttering about some books without checking what genre he was even in. "You probably can run pretty fast. Maybe resisting arrest? In fact, simply fighting against an officer is a bit disappointing." He put a book back and turned to wait for Mori to do whatever he wanted to do here in the first place. He nodded at his words, giving another shrug towards him. He wasn't going to stop swearing if Mori suddenly didn't care. It was hard enough, anyway. So he just mumbled "Alright." and scratched the back of his head. He could swear, no big deal. He put a hand in his pocket and his eyes almost widened at the feel of a small pencil in there. It was a golfing pencil, exactly like the small tin of them up at the library desk. So he had nicked one without even realizing it, walking past the desk. That seemed to happen a lot with him, random flashes of thievery. He was a liar and a thief. He had sticky fingers, and would pocket useless things just for the point of taking them. Pencils, pepper shakers, jars, had all ended up in his pockets at one point. Most of the time not even realizing he was doing it. Marcus only pulled his hand back out, only his hand, and decided to act like he hadn't just stolen another thing.

It seemed that almost as soon as the doors to the library were opened, Tetsumori took off. Quickly scanning the different sections, he ducked into the Fiction area, searching through the mass of books before plucking out two. Cradling the hadcovers to his chest, Tetsumori hurried back to the other male's side, head head tilting to the side in confusion, "Po po? What's a po po?" He asked curiously, flipping over the first book in his hands and inspecting the spine, dusting his hands along the title softly. Was "Po po" just a slang? Or did it mean something else? He blinked, a slight pout forming on his lips. "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's all." Tetsumori shook his head and huffed, cracking open the pages of the book in his hands, his eyes hovering over the dark printed words. Glancing up at the other male, he crossed his arms, hugging the books to his chest. Was Marcus expecting him to be some tough kid who could take whatever was throw at them? Tetsumori wasn't like that. He became panicked when the room he was in was too big! Though, at least Marcus got one thing right. He was, in fact, a quick runner. He had to be. Biting down on his lip, the small boy squirmed, his eyes sliding down to the floor in front of him. Why did he feel like a reprimanded child? "I apologize for not being what you expected of me." Tetsumori's tone was low as he found an empty table, plopping his books down before seating himself. He paused momentarily when Marcus stopped, arching an eyebrow curiously before going back to his book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Despite how childish it might had sounded, it was one of his favorite books - not including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which was right beside him - and he held comfort in being able to immerse himself in a completely unrealistic fantasy.

Marcus actually almost laughed at the question, watching as he darted around. He thought out how to explain the word and finally just offered him the hint of a smile. It was a small one, a tiny twitch of the corner of his lips. One that was as if he wasn't that happy a person, but for a moment he could pretend to be. "Just a word for police. You know, like fuz. Pig." He paused for a moment, then smirked and continued on with his list of names. "Coppers. Five O. Rollers. Bears. It's slang." It was only a joke. He was wondering now if it was him or Mori that had the terrible sense of humor. He knew all these names mostly because of Juvenile hall, he knew of all the slang that the large brainless oafs would throw around. So sure, he knew of all these strange words that had some meaning behind them that somehow represented police. There were strange ones he had heard some people yell out when there was an officer around. He had heard once someone call out in a whisper 'Cinder Dicks' when the delinquents had their drugs out and a cop was detected to be lurking around. There were other ones too, Care bears, City Pigs, Crushers, Raddies, Screws. He had heard all of those before.
He was caught off guard by the apology given to him, and his eyes widened softly. "I was joking." He said immediately, plopping down across from Tetsumori. He nibbled down on his lip, still wondering which of them had the terrible sense of humor. Marcus noted the books stacked beside him and in his hands and resisted the urge to let to a giggle. It was cute, though, the childishness. The boy simply was cute, it was that simple. "That actually sounds amusing, you and an officer. I would like to have seen that."

Tetsumori made a face, lacing his fingers together in front of him. What weird names. How did people even come up with such things? The boy gave a small sigh and glanced over to the other, "That's.... really weird." he responded quietly, slightly perplexed. The words didn't even make any sense! It was like calling a doctor a coaster! Ridiculous, actually. Sure, he's heard of coppers before and five O before, but nothing else. They were police, law enforcers. But, he guessed a person needed different words. It could be seen as codes as well. With a small shrug, Tetsumori glanced down at his book, laying it out in front of him and toying with the pages. His eyes hovered over the slightly worn book, but he brought his eyes back up to Marcus, fidgiting slightly. He was sort of weak, wasn't he? A muscle in his jaw ticked as he flipped the page, bringing his eyes back down again, "I'm not the best at distinguishing jokes," he started, turning the page over, "so, you're going to have to help me with that." Resisting a small huff, the blue haired boy tilted his head up to stare at the ceiling. "The experience wasn't what you would have expected," he mumbled, slightly embarrassed, "it was just a mistake. I panicked and reacted stupidly. That's pretty much all there is."

Marcus gave a soft nod and "Right?" When the boy called the names strange. Because they were awfully strange, if you didn't know each meaning behind it. And Marcus didn't. He had never really asked, and he doubted he would ever get the answers. But he was brought back out of his thought when the boy stated his terrible humor, and he only shrugged. He wasn't too good with jokes. Marcus had a dry, morbid sense of humor that only a few others with the same type of humor would understand. The type to make dead baby jokes, or make jokes about a tragic recent event. He cast a glance back to him when he began to speak again, explaining out what had happened awfully vaguely. He didn't question it then, and just smirked softly. Like many others, he would let this subject go, placing it in a folder to bring up later. So he held his head in his hand, tilting his head softly as he looked at him. "So, what? Are you one of those types here that is a vampire or some sort?" Marcus had been thinking about this question since Mori stated his slow aging. So far he had met a few supernatural beings, and seen a few of the cat boys wandering around. So he was getting slowly used to being the human in the middle of this. He didn't really know what to call them, so 'types' would work. "You know, the immortals and such."

Finding the book in front of him a little more boring than he expected due to the conversation happening between himself and Marcus, Tetsumori bent the corner of the page he was currently on before closing the book. Reaching over and taking the second novel he collected Tetsumori flipped it open and rested his cheek in his palm. Silently, he mouthed the words he read, dark eyes trailing over the book as he turned the page. After practically living in libraries and such for practically his whole life, he had become accustomed to reading fast, but he took his time when it came to fairytales like these two one the table. He grew up with these fairytales and would probably enjoy them no matter how old he became.

Glancing up at the redhead with a mix of surprise and mirth, he covered his mouth with a small hand to disguise his laugh. A vampire? Really? "No," he shook his head and a small smile pulled at his lips, "not a vampire. Hardly even close." Book now forgotten, Tetsumori laced his fingers together and rested his chin on them, "Actually, I'm a nekomata. I'm not immortal, I just age differently. Think of how humans compare dog or cat years to human years. One nekomata year is equal to six human years. So actually I'm one-hundred and two in human years." he informed with a small shrug, rubbing his eyes sleepily with one of his hands before resting his head on the table, "I can understand if you're weirded out by that; I would be too if I was in your position."

Marcus watched every little methodical motion Tetsumori made, each small movement and ever place his eyes went. He was an interesting character, this little guy. So Marcus let his chin rest in his palm, his elbow on the table as he curiously watched him. The smile though, urprised him a bit though it wasn't shown. Just a slight widening of his eyes and a small smirk of his own started to spread. Nekomata. "That um, japanese or something?" He asked, scratching at his head of orange hair. But he did pause when the boy stated his age. At first his smile faded, his expression a little curious. And then he grinned suddenly. "Holy s**t. That's ******** crazy. You could be a grandfather or something." He shook his head, murmuring something like 'too cool' before lifting his green eyes back to the 'nekumatta'.
"Man. How boring is it to be just a plain human? I should start making up species too to go with my names."

Tetsumori lowered his eyes down to the table beneath his elbows and traced patterns in the wood before glancing back to the door, then around the room. His anxiety hasn’t gotten any better from being in this environment. Not at all. In fact, it just became worse. Now he had to watch out for little delinquent teenagers running around like mad-men. Blinking up at the red haired male, the small navy haired boy nodded, “Yes. I was born in Japan, then moved around with a bit.” he elaborated before shifting in his seat, finding the plastic chairs to be a little too uncomfortable for him.

“Yeah, I guess to a human or someone with a shorter lifespan than my own would find that crazy. But I’ll eventually die off, unlike some species who’s ages just seem to freeze, you know?” he replied quietly ducking his head and lacing his fingers together before letting out a quiet sigh. The fact was, Tetsumori didn’t enjoy being what he was. He hated it. “I’d rather be human.” Mori mumbled quietly, biting down on his lips with a delicate frown. If he was a human, then he wouldn’t have to deal with watching his friends live out their lives and just… fade away. Their lives were so short. It felt as if Tetsumori barely even got to know them before he was saying goodbye. And, eventually, Tetsumori stopped making friends. He stopped making acquaintances, stopped everything. It just wasn’t worth the heartache that was leftover when they left him. “Be happy about what you are, okay?” the small boy murmured softly, shifting his weight around on the chair before his eyes dashed around the room again, a sigh of relief coming from the blue eyed boy when no other people besides Marcus were sensed.

'Moved around a bit'. Marcus raised his eyebrows just slightly with that, but decided to not put much thought into it. Lots of people 'moved around a bit'. He even had 'moved around a bit'. So the thought was pushed away and then killed off in some little nook of Marcus' mind. Instead, he thought about the rest of what Mori had said. Born in Japan. "That's neat." He remarked gently.
Marcus couldn't help but feel a little dumb now that the excitement and surprise had worn off. Especially when he heard Mori's second small statement. He was still thinking of the first one, nodding and agreeing to show that he did indeed know, when he heard his small mumble. Rather be a human? Who the hell would rather be a human? He frowned softly, a thick silence settling down now. Every joking manner in their conversation had just been smacked down, a cold wave of seriousness taking it's place. He opened his mouth to say something back to Mori and then closed it when he thought better of it. But then, he lost the sense that had made him shut his trap and opened it again. "Humans are predictable. They lie and only care about themselves" Marcus paused and gave a soft shrug, looking away from Mori to avoid eye contact. "That's what's so cool about like...cats...you know?" This time Marcus raised his gaze to Tetsumori and gave him a sheepish little smile, like he was letting him in on the secrets of the universe that he had kept to himself, mulling them over for years. He hadn't ever told anyone he liked cats. Not that he was ashamed, it had never come up. But they had to be his favorite things in the world. They were extremely trustworthy and what was even better, they couldn't lie. They could sit there and meow at you, and if they were lying to Marcus, well he wouldn't know. Which was perfect. "They're great, because they're incredibly apathetic. They don't do anything to hurt anything, and they don't care about anyone. It's great." He trailed off quietly and leaned on the back two legs of his chair, pursing his lips quietly like he was just thinking about what he said now, after he had said it. "Nah. I would change places in a heartbeat." The red head finally confessed, his eyes flickering back over to where the tiny boy sat. Marcus' shoulders were slumped, like he had finally set down a heavy load. He sat watching Mori now, offering the boy a small smile. The boy probably had plenty of reason for wanting to be a human. But Marcus was a pessimist and he hated everything, especially people. "I'd rather be a nekomata." He finally shot back with a small retort, a sly smile on his lips.

Playing with the pages of the book absent-mindedly, Tetsumori regarded the young man in front of him lightly. They, Marcus and himself, really were at two sides of the spectrum, weren’t they? Tetsumori’s lips parted to say this, but kept his mouth shut, “It was alright,” he stated with a small shrug, “the ramen stores were good, and the shrines and everything were pretty interesting.” Mori closed the book before lowering his eyes back to the table. He was actually really surprised that he had been talking this much. Usually, he would only say a few words then totter off somewhere else, really not interested in conversing with others. Well, this had been quite a change then, and Tetsumori couldn’t decipher whether or not he liked it. The whole “speaking and getting along with others” never really saw well with him and now here he was, talking so casually –at least as casually as he could –with a person he barely even knew.

Breaking out of his thoughts, Tetsumori tilted his head up when Marcus spoke again, his hands coming up to cover his mouth as a quiet bubble of laughter passed through his lips, “Cats are sort of like that too, sometimes, even if we are sort of noncommittal about things,” he replied with a miniscule smile before shaking his head, “Though I do have to agree about humans though. They’re pretty weird creatures. But, I guess you could say that all things end up caring about themselves in one perspective or another. That’s nature, right?” Tetsumori wriggled around slightly and swung his legs back and forth. To be honest, it was sort of relaxing having someone he could talk to. Being alone really didn’t help Tetsumori in any way, only kept him closed off for a long time. But his shell was starting to crack now, fracturing into pieces, and he wasn’t exactly sure how do deal with it all. What would he do if Marcus just got up and left? Or if this was all some big joke? Tetsumori bit the inside of his cheek lightly as he thought, a small furrow placed on his brow.

Glancing at Marcus Tetsumori rested his chin in his palms, elbows propped up on the table, I would like to see what it would be like to be a human though. Living can be boring.” Tetsumori couldn’t help but imagine what Marcus would look like as a shifted nekomata. Orange-red fur, glimmering emerald eyes… Tetsumori fidgeted again and a faint flush crept onto his cheek, “You’d look cute.” Tetsumori muttered before promptly propping his book up and immersing himself in it.

((I'd actually love to continue with these two, if it's alright with you.))

Shrines and Ramen Stores? Marcus had never heard of either of those, but now found himself taking them in with some mild interest. Indeed they did seem very interesting. Marcus never used to want to travel too much. Not when he was a kid, not when he lived with his mom, and not recently. He could never think of anywhere he would want to go, anywhere he could run away too. But, locked away in a school filled with angsty, hormonal boys did spark something inside of him that made him want to just get out and go somewhere. Anywhere. Maybe he could go to Japan and find out what was up with ramen stores or shrines.
A spreading smile lit up Marcus' lips as he heard a small chuckle from Mori. There was something with that little laugh that made him grin softly. Maybe it was the fact that Mori was laughing. He hadn't heard that yet. He listened intently to what else he had to say, wondering what he could have said that would induce a smile on that kid's face. He wanted to do it again. The 'we' in his sentence confused him for a moment before he realized that nekomatas must indeed be cats. Oh, oh god. That was embarrassing. He wouldn't have just confessed a bit of his love for cats if he knew Mori was like, related to them. That was probably why he liked Mori so much. He loved cats, ridiculously so, and maybe that was what had fueled him to speak to Mori in the first place. Like intuition or something. Marcus could feel a bit of heat go o his cheeks but he tried to cool down and listen to what he was philosophizing. "Right." He agreed with a small nod, crossing his arms over the table and letting his head rest on them.
Marcus' grin quickly returned when he heard the rest of Mori's thoughts. "Dying can be tedious." He responded immediately. One of his largest fears was Oblivion itself. Dying, and being forgotten and left behind. Maybe not entirely oblivion, but instead death itself. It was a peculiar fear for someone who lived in the shadows and rarely spoke to anyone, but Marcus feared it all the same. Perhaps it was the reason he hated everyone. They so easily embraced it. Dying, and death, and all of that, and they were willing to fade into the oblivion. Mori's last out-loud thought took him off guard and removed him from his own. He smirked and watched as Mori tore his gaze away and sunk into the book in his hands.
At this point Marcus felt bad for not letting him read a whole sentence yet, after all that's probably why Mori wanted to come to the library. So he said nothing more and closed his eyes lightly, his head still gently being held up with both of his arms. A few minutes passed and when Marcus felt like he might have actually fallen asleep for a second there he opened his eyes softly to make sure Mori was still there. When it was confirmed that Mori still hadn't left he relaxed and let his eyes close again, his breathing starting to slow as he found himself incredibly tired.
