A lone kirilona mare slipped through the shadows of night, the storm that had rolled in so suddenly had pushed her from the sky. Usually she would have been upset, but not tonight . .tonight she enjoyed the cool wet grass agaisnt her hooves and rain pelting down agaisnt her leathery hide. She whistled a haunting tune, the sound seeming to rise with the worsening weather. Aveve liked to think that storms were the mighty god Kalona, angry and punishing the lessers for infesting his world. Lightning streaked overhead, and she imagined his tail cracking back and forth, lashing out at his underlings. The deep rumble of thunder? Why that was his roars, sending all the lessers fleeing for cover from his wrath. She giggled, almost giddy to stand among the glory of the raging storm. Rather large for her size, with a stocky yet still lean body she was a sight to behold striding through the darkness. Eyes blazing like bloodied stars, and runes set into the dappled skin with a faint glow of their own, made Aveve slightly visible in the inky blackness. And when lightning turned midnight to noon, she could easily be seen in the flash of light. Large but delicate wings were folded into her sides so the wind and driving rain couldn't do them any harm. Her chocolaty mane, which was usually messy anyway, was now a tangled mass of wet silk tangled about her neck and horns. Pausing for a brief moment in a small thicket of trees she stopped, trying to scent the air for a meal. But it was no use, the one downside to the storms was that it hampered her ability to smell much other than pure wet earth.

The darkness of the trees seemed to be closing in one him he looked around but there was no one to save him. The rain was pouring down around him and the sky was raging like no other. Storms always brought back bad memories of his past when he was forced to stay out in the rain as a young foal because no one thought he belonged. They teased him and called him names making fun of the fact he had no parents..those were hard time and he always went back into the dark days when it stormed.
The lighting flashes light up his bright figure making him look like a flame in the dark. He was snarling lashing his long tail back and forth leaving markings in the muddy earth. He was trying to shield himself with his wings only growing more frustrated by the minute growling even more revealing sharp teeth and fangs looking like a monster in the night..like a kalona.
His massive body was wet but his scales helped hide him from the cold and as he walked on his footprints were very much like a dragons. He was glad to have no mane or hair to weigh him down as he trudged onwards his mood only growing worse each minute. If any living creature crossed his path now they would only face his wrath and the worst of his moods.

She had paused long enough to scratch her sides between two trees before moving on back out into the storm.
It didn't take long for a flash of lightning to reveal something bright in the distance, a massive form moving her way. From the silhouette the form appeared kalona but she was not sure. Almost instantaneously she reverted into a tried and true game. The mare hunkered down slightly, folding her wings in tight as if to hide them, tossing her head wildly until her mane feel informant of her eyes, and hide most of her pearly white horns. She managed to force herself into shivering as if the weather was chilling her to the bone.
Continuing her travel, she took slow, deliberately small steps to make her ploy seem even more real. All the while her eyes were trained in the direction she had seen the form, waiting for the next flash to reveal them again.
She had no idea what she might be walking in to, but she didn't care should the figure try to attack her they might be surprised at what she could do.
Lightning flashed, for a moment even she was surprised at the sight, he was large maybe even taller than her grandfather and so -strange- .. so .. powerful!
She licked her lips, this could end up being a very good night indeed.
Once more she picked up her whistling, though this time she tried to make it seem like a poor soul trying it's hardest to comfort itself in the onslaught of the storm.

Slowly making his way though the trees with only the lightning to guide him he spotted some sort of form on the path ahead. Growling softly to himself he kept his wings out and made himself look as massive as he possibly could. His tail raised high in the air a frown upon his face. As he walked closer he could see the form was also moving nearer to him taking the time to look and noticing it was a mare..a mare who could of easily came to the top of his neck..she looked lost or hurt and for a moment he lost his guard as his soft heart got the better of him.
Eyeing the mare carefully not even she could keep his mood at bady and quickly he was consumed again by the storm. He had no idea what or who she was and at that point he felt no need to help her if it had been any other time but now. When he finally stopped in front of her he soflty growled his wings still spread out wide.
"And what is a lone mare doing out in a storm?" he grined at her a glint of darkness in his eyes "You cant hide what i see mare..You have wings only a fool wold be unable to tell..It seems you are lost though..i cant see your eyes.." he frowned at her talking as he always did when it was stormy
"Would you care to show youself..? Tell me who you are? you are not one of my breed..it seems you are very similar though.." his heart is opening to this mare though he hardly knows her "Do you need help?"

As he reached her Aveve didn't know whether to laugh or purr at him, the trembling of her body as she suppressed both appeared as harder shivers. His voice was commanding, as any good spawn of Kalona should be ... even if they were a strange spawn indeed .. but it lacked an umph .. she couldn't put her hoof on it exactly .. just something that didn't make it seem all there.
A bright voice, deceivingly angelic finally rolled from her, straining to be heard above the rumble of the storm "p-p-please sir don't hurt me... I-I'm just lost in this storm ..." she tossed her mane just enough to uncover a glowing eye. She hoped it remained unreadable of her humor ... and maybe her interest in him. "I'm n-new to these lands, and I'm lost .. s-so lost." She accented her words with a little sob, and flutter of her wings at her side.
She assumed the posture, of one subordinate to a stronger horse, her tail tucked delicately between her hind legs.
She waited, for what she wasn't sure but she waited watching him through those glowing red eyes partially hidden by her mane.

He sighed to himself and shook his head slowly not sure what to think of this strange mare found shivering in a storm of course he knew something was off..but he could not place what it was. He tried to take a closer look at her knowing the only other breed with wings like his was kalona..so she must be a kalona mixed with something else..she was not a suti he knew that much.
"You seem to be shivering but i feel something is not quite right..i should trust by better judgement but the rain affects me.." he eyes her more carefully "I should not trust a strange mare who i meet in the middle of a storm..Your voice seems..unfit somehow.." he walks closer to her trying to make out what secrets she was keeping "Are you a kalona..? You are not one of my breed..i do not fear the kalona..why are you so..delicate?"
he sighs again and covers her with a wing "Im sure to pay for this later..but if your cold i can help you mare..I know you hide secrets that i dont want to know" watching her face now he notices her eyes that seem to be glowing but shakes off the fact something is deeply wrong "Come with me we can hide from this storm.." he slightly growls again not pleased by the new devlopments "You are not my problem but i have no choice..i am not evil i can not cause harm..if you are really new..i can tell when someone is faking i should let you know" he growls at her not knowing what else to do "Do not hide your true nature mare.."

She choked back laughter again, instead putting on the biggest doe-eyes possible. "I-i'm not lieing sir .. I .." she quieted up for a moment when he slipped next to her extending his wing over her. She curled innocently agaisnt his warm sides and slowly stopped shivering
When he asked about her breed Aveve's face fell eyes sad lower lip quivering "I'm a kirin mixed with kalona, hated by all ... the kalona because I'm not pure .. and the other breeds because I'm kalona." She hiccuped, as if trying to hold back a small sob. Her ears flopped to the side, completing the dejected look she had set out for.
She traveled on like that, happy to be silent as not to give anything else away, and honestly being so delightfully close to such a powerful creature. It rolled off him in waves of heat, and could almost make her as delightfully drunk as the two-legged firewater.
She didn't notice she had subconsciously leaned into the warm scales and was humming, the haunting tune curling from her into the night air.

He sighed looking up at the clouds and the never ending downpour and then back at the mare. "So this is not a lie? You seek help from one such as me? well thank you for not running..though were similar.." he feels her stop shivering and stands there in a strange embrace "So you are a crossbread..i see mixed with two unlike breeds at that" he is not sure what to think of this mare anymore and just decides to go along with it to save trouble.
He closed his eyes and listened to the rain falling around them able to hear her breathing and feel closeness he never felt before. His ears picked up something that was like music but not..and traced it to the mare shivering himself dripping wet but never cold just like a true dragon being of fire it was hard for him to feel cold even in the hard winter.

She continued to hum for a moment, then almsot as if breaking out of a trance she stopped dead. "W-why would I run from you?" her voiced almost cracked into it's usual sensual tones, instead of the innocence of a frightened wet mare but she caught it before it could become to noticeable. "You didn't chase me away, or try to kill me like all the others."
She peeked out from under his wing just slightly, blinking up at him with her glowing eyes, all emotion carefully disguised.
"I .. I think I saw a grove of trees ahead with the last flash of lightning... maybe it'll provide shelter ..." she looked in the opposite direction of the area she'd hidden before, wouldn't do her much good for him to catch her scent on the trees to know she'd passed through and left their safety to wonder around in the middle of a storm.

He thought about her words for a moment his tail flicking behind him in agitation. "You would run because they always do" a low growl escapes from within and he turns his back to her doing the favor of hiding himself. "I would never hurt one that did nothing to me..you still have come upon me in a bad time" he turns back around and eyes her being weary of her. He knew what kalona could do how they could twist there words and make you believe what they wanted. He shifted in his place wanting to leave the mare but something within him kept telling him to stay.
"Shelter..? That would be great.." He looks up at the sky and shakes his head hating the rain and the storm. "Trees draw lightning.." he started to walk in the direction she had looked in not taking his time to wait for her. A kalona could handle themselves he did not need to worry about her.

She listened to his words carefully crafting her own "they run for they are foolish, they run because they are afraid, power frightens them and they don't want to believe another being can be hold more power than themselves" so should they be, these weakling creatures they should all fear the power of dragon and kalona alike. Thunder boomed behind her as if to accent words "see, the storm doesn't care if we weaker beings flee from it's wrath."
She followed after him, fluttering her wings slightly, mane plastered to her head and neck.
The earth was soaked now and squished beneath her hooves, splashing mud upon her legs. It was aggravating being dirty, but still she followed the large male a slight quirk of a smile on her lips.
