Ralla and Firith, Initiative Roll
After their first real taste of fighting, Ralla and Firith were eager for more - something a little less large-scale, perhaps, not so much of a free-for-all. They'd done relatively well, all things considered, being a weyrling pair fighting against a wingleader pair, but relatively well was not well enough. They wanted not only a victory, but a decisive victory, and one they might have a moment or two to savor. Fighting as part of a group against another group just hadn't been enough to satisfy them.
The young green soared above the Weyr with her rider on her back, keeping a sharp eye out for any opportunity that might present itself.

{Giving up initiative to Ralla and Firith}
So far Z'en had managed to avoid any fights, Kataith too but that had been by pretty much, hiding out in their Weyr. When he'd seen the fighting start, Z'en had locked his door and placed as many heavy things against it as he possibly could. Now the only way in or out was off the ledge for his Dragon. By listening in Z'en had determined the reasons behind the 'invasion' and was very upset about it. Kataith, despite her love for Hers, tried to argue that it was a good thing, that perhaps the change would be good, she didn't like all the angry fighting though, what was the use in killing everyone, it would only make others be less likely to want to listen to you.
They had argued a little until Z'en had put his foot down, in absolutely NO WAY would they support the Whers, who incindtally, were killing a lot of people, and those that backed them. Kataith didn't like it but Z'en was Hers, she would do as he wanted her to. In a way she was glad that he didn't want to fight, that meant she wouldn't have to be torn between her desire to please him and wanting to be involved in backing the ideas that the Wherhandlers, and their supporters brought up.
Z'en had forgotten one small thing, there was no food in his Weyr and he hadn't eaten since the day before, Z'en was feeling the hunger acutely, as was Kataith, so, after much deliberation, they decided that it would be a good idea to venture out and hopefully find something to eat, then return as fast as possible back here, assuming that is, no one broke in.
Z'en mounted Kataith, and fastened his riding straps securely, they were perched on their ledge when Z'en spotted another dragon in the air and from the look of the hide, it was one of their Senior Weyrling dragons. Both Z'en and Kataith were cautious but leapt off their ledge, slowly circling to get closer, but not too close...

Firith (with Ralla), Idle
Firith was quick to spot one of her clutchmates, though truth be told, it wasn't one she had anything in particular against; there were others she would rather have had a piece of, others she was sure had continued to side with the Resistance and would have relished pitting herself against. She was slightly less eager to test her claws on her former bunkmate, though not necessarily reluctant.
Still, it was just enough that she didn't immediately dive after and attack her. She consulted with her rider for a moment, then sent to her fellow green, Kataith! Where have you been?
It was significantly less of a give-away than 'What side are you on?' would have been, but would hopefully still elicit an answer that revealed the others' loyalty.

Kataith (with Z'en), Idle
"We have been avoiding the conflicts, i have no wish to see Mine get hurt, so i agreed." replied Kataith, assessing the situation, the other seemed calm but Kataith knew things could change, and quickly so kept an open mind about the other for the time being. "It appears that you have not been as lucky" she added, taking in the stains on the other young Green's hide, the marks that showed she'd been hurt and fairly recently.

Firith (with Ralla), Idle
You are hiding? But there is so much to be done! Firith disapproved, not only because of the content of the answer, but because it brought her no closer to discovering where Kataith's loyalty lay. Perhaps she was indecisive? Fine. She would give her one chance - bringing another over to the cause would be as much an achievement, and even more of an aid, than simply knocking them out of the sky.
The green was dismissive over the mention of her previous injuries. They were fairly won in fighting for our future, and I will wear them proudly. Why do you not fight? If we are to overthrow the old ways, we must work to overthrow the ones who will not give them up.

Kataith (with Z'en), Idle
"You would go against Yours if she made the choice to hide?" Kataith asked calmly. "I stayed to keep Mine safe, there is much killing going on" she added, carefully assessing Firith, She wouldn't be the one to land the first blow without a LOT of reason to and so far, Firith had given them no reason.
"So, you are with those that would rather kill anyone that opposes them" she said, any trace of sympathy she may have been growing at the sight of the wounds on the green, vanishing. "While i agree with the principal of the matter Firith, killing everyone who stands against you is not the way to enforce change" she said, her eyes flashing, now they knew each other's intention, Kataith watched the other Green but still she wasn't about to attack if she had no cause to.

Firith (with Ralla), Attacking Kataith
Mine would never hide. And even if she tried, I would drag her out. When Ralla reacted to this with a dry Thanks, Firith snorted. There is no other way to make them change. If there were, they would have changed long ago, but they ignore us as they always have, because they can. Because we have let them. I will not let it be so anymore!
But if you would have us live beneath them, then so be it. Tucking her wings, she dropped towards the other weyrling with her claws outstretched.

Kataith, attacking Firith
"NO!!" cried Z'en when the other dragon shot forwards and raked Kataith down a shoulder, as much as he didn't want to fight, Kataith had been hurt and now he was angry but he was scared as well. "Ralla.... we can't let them fight!" he yelled, even as Kataith ignored him and charged, roaring at Firith, seeking out a weak spot on the other young dragon.
"We may have been from the same clutch but it seems that even when we agree, we differ" snapped Kataith to Firith, it rankled her that though they agreed there must be change, this wasn't the way to go about it. "Small wonder we fight to keep what is Ours, when differing opinions are met with teeth and claws" she said, even as she attempted to return the attack. She may calm and observant, calculating even at times but Her Z'en was on her back, fastened in my the straps, she WOULD keep him safe, even if that meant attacking, she would not run away though, unless he was in immediate danger.

Firith (with Ralla), Attacking Kataith
Ralla was unmoved by Z'en's plea, and yelled back, "I can!"
I will do whatever I must to ensure our future, and allow no one to stand in my way, not even you. See sense, fight me, or run - it is your choice. Coldly, even as she offered Kataith one more opportunity to see reason, Firith came back for another strike.

Kataith, attacking Firith
"Then you are no better than those that bring US down because of our color" snorted Kataith, swerving to avoid Firith's attack.
Z'en's face had gone white, his hands clenched the saddle to tightly that his knuckles were turning white too "Kataith please don't" but he got no reply, only a determination to show the other green that she was WRONG in behaving like this. "Ralla WHY?! he yelled to her, above the roaring of their dragons "Why fight others, is this really the way you want to be heard?!" he asked, pointing at Firith's previous injuries.
Kataith shook her head, ignoring Z'en and dived at Firith again

Firith (with Ralla), Attacking Kataith
You will see, one day, that I was right. It was all the more she said, avoiding Kataith's attack and twisting to attempt one of her own. It was a pity the other green wouldn't see why this path was a necessity, but so be it. She had made her decision, and the consequences would lie with her.
Ralla and her dragon were one in their decision, and her response echoed Firith's own words. "We'll do whatever we have to!"

Kataith, attacking Firith
"You are a foolish creature, i agree with the principal, but not with your methods, i will fight to protect the Weyr from fools even if it means our place in life remains unchanged" she said to Firith, frustrated that the other Green couldn't see it, it seemed all she wanted was blood to be shed in the name of change.
Z'en shook his head sadly "And if it kills your dragon?" he snapped, still trying to convince Kataith to break off the fight, praying that the other dragon's claws missed the riding straps. "If Firith dies for it, will that be a good enough price to pay for what you want?" he called, tears springing to his eyes at the loss around him, he prayed that his Wherhandler friend was safe, though knowing the man, and Wher, anything was possible.

Firith (with Ralla), Attacking Kataith
It is you who are the fool, Firith contended, and hissed when she heard Kataith's speculate that she might die. She would not die! She was Firith, and she could only triumph. Switching from trying to claw at her opponent, she tried to bite her instead.
"She won't!" Ralla was every bit as convinced of their abilities - of their invincibility - as Firith was. The thought that they could actually die had never so much as crossed their minds, just as it hadn't in any of their lessons or practice. Just because some weak dimglows died now and then because they weren't good enough didn't mean they would.

Kataith, attacking Firith
The game of dodge the dragon was making Z'en nervous, they were both agile Greens, capable of turning sharply and so the 'fight' was dragging on. "Oh Ralla..." he said to himself, quietly. She didn't even consider losing her Dragon, there was no point in saying anything else, he'd tried. Instead he clung onto the saddle and hoped that Kataith wouldn't get hurt again, and she would listen and they would leave.
Kataith also saw no sense in speaking to Firith again, instead she would show her just how wrong she was and launched at the other again, talons raking.

Firith (with Ralla), Attacking Kataith
Firith hissed when Kataith's claws made contact with her hide. She not been quite fast enough that time, and it was unacceptable! The pain was a secondary consideration at best - all that mattered in this moment was striking back, taking the other green out of the sky and claiming victory. She lashed out, aiming for her clutchmate's wing.
