Solemn narrowed his eyes, regarding the forest he had just left. Things were getting too close, especially with the arrival of three baskets. He had coerced Nox into claiming them as her own but their 'agreement' was getting strained and he might have to turn on her soon. To cover his tracks he needed a scapegoat and the best place to find one was look for the signs of other skinwalker activities. He would propose a plan to hunt together, maybe tell them of a luscious hunting ground and then maybe throw Malis on their presence to keep the troll matriarch off his back. Not that he would be lying about the hunting grounds... the skinwalker had never had such accessibility to food and play things since his cursing.
After looking for the subtle signs of another 'walkers territory he ventured forth hoping she or he had eaten recently. While he was not one to deffer a fight when it came his way, the action of such obvious parading of violence was so uncivilized and uncouth. he much preferred to reel in his victims with words and then attack when they least expeted it. This made him at a slight disadvantage when interacting with other skinwalker... and much more cautious.

Up in a tree hung a starry colored bat, her eyes closed as she listened for the sounds of others nearby. This bat was no normal bat though, but for the moment she made herself appear that way. Suffering from so many injuries with that darn harpy, had taken a lot out of her. And while she had managed to "sweetly" talk a unicorn into healing her, she was still unable to do a whole lot. Which is why she remained a bat as of late, so she could sleep up in the trees, unnoticed.
While Neva had taken to wanting to avoid the trees, she would find one or two trees all alone, and make her bed there. She had been staying in this particular tree for a few days now, and had been in no mood to anything. So every so often there would be a small protest from her stomach. But even still, she wasn't capable of taking down a big prey right now, so if anything came along, she would have to seriously use her words to keep out of a fight. Or just flare her wings at the them and snarl, works wonders too for the naive ones who thought they could take her on, but then thought otherwise. So it's been relatively easy for her to hang and heal. The batwalker didn't stop to think that maybe there were other walkers in the area where she had currently made her 'home'.

Solemn had pondered whether his normal mode of travel, his unassuming feline form, would have been a better choice but had decided against it after reaching this new walker's territory. He knew his senses would be dulled a little but his size would hopefully stall most attacks. The stallion kept his ears perked, sniffing around a little as he looked for recent signs. There was a small herd of deer, mindless hooved ones, nearing a thicket but otherwise not much...
Until the wind picked up slightly.
The catwalker picked up the musky scent of his own kind, his nose wrinkling reflexively as he felt his muscles tense. Walkers did not work well together for the simple reason that their own scent made them ready to attack. Still, Solemn had great self control from practice and turned his head towards the scent, hoping the wind would pick up and guide him to his target.

The bat's ears twitched slightly, hearing something in the distance. Soon the scent of someone reached her nose as well. Another walker? She was not thrilled at this development. Neva was not one to care if another had staked out territory. She was a wanderer most of the time. The only reason she had even made her way here and stayed for awhile was so she could rest and heal a bit more. It had seemed quiet which is why she had picked it.
She hoped that the other walker would simply ignore her. In her opinion, she wasn't even crossing any sort of staked territory so that should mean something. Normally a fight is something she enjoyed, but right now, when she was still semi-vulnerable, was not her fancy.

The catwalker paused, frowning slightly. While the wind was telling him the one he was looking for was close by, he wasn't quite sure if he was correct. So far he had only contact with pawed walkers, a canine-type who had tricked into becoming the powerful beast that he was, and a feline couple, like himself, who often hunted together. They were his current scapegoats though with the rise in activity and increase of patrols they had moved to different pastures. Shaking his head, Solemn brought his attention to the current issue. Peering around he examined the long grasses for the tale tale sign of a hunter laying in wait.
Nothing... He grew curious, shifting down to his large, sleek, feline form and flexed his claws into the dirt. Ah hah! He looked up and grinned toothily. Well that is where they were hiding... With a raspy chuckle he lithely hopped into the tree, his claws digging easily in the loose bark. Keeping his distance, his weight causing the branch to sway and dip, Solemn laid stretched out and eyed his fellow monster. "May fortunes smile upon you and your belly be full." He uttered as a greeting, force of habit from his time from before the change. "I do hope the day has been well." Sol's voice was smooth and welcoming, slightly feral when combined with his soothing purr.

When the other walker jumped up into the tree, Neva couldn't help but give an annoyed sigh. Couldn't a bat be left alone? Was it that hard of a concept? But now she had company, and since this was her tree at the moment, at the very least she could pretend to play host.
"Go away." So, her idea of playing host was telling them to get lost. "I have no interest in speaking with you." Her eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to wish the catwalker away. She had a feeling though that this walker was here to stay awhile, and she at least hoped he wouldn't start a fight. The bat was in no mood to fight and did not want to re-injure herself. "If this is your territory I'll be leaving in just a day or so. I traveled far and needed to rest." Changing tactics a bit, she would concede to admitting this wasn't her territory, might be his, and then he would leave, and she be on her merry way, or as merry a walker might get anyways.

The feline regarded her for a long while before shrugging. "Have it your way." He stretched and yawned as if to show his nonchalance. "If you are not interested in an easy meal in a rather bountiful location I cannot possibly persuade you to join me in the feast." He adjusted his features as if to appear hurt at her outright rejection. "I can see that I am not wanted here and my presence has sullied your tree." He was curious, if this was not her territory who's did it belong to? The skinwalker had an idea, "and no, I am just a traveler much like your self. I have not met the one who has claimed this territory as their own. If she knew this was not his land, having two skinwalkers within another's territory was bound to cause aggression if they were discovered, more like when they were discovered. If she was not the one to follow him with his plan his best bet was to go looking for the other...
Still, he waited to see if she would bite. Walkers always had a hunger about thm and this one looked like she really needed to feed but did not really have a chance with their normal means.

Easy feeding? Bountiful location? The batwalker's eyes narrowed even more at the feline, wondering just what this creature was up to. Walkers typically didn't like to share, heaven knows she didn't like to share if she could help it, so why was this one? Neva was curious, and began to scheme quietly in her head. He was up to something, she could gather that much. She wasn't that oblivious to his words and his offer having hidden meanings, perhaps she could even spin everything around on him if it were some sort of trap. Worse comes to worse, she could always just simply leave if things got out of hand.
"You've caught my interest for the moment, and since you say that this isn't your territory either, perhaps maybe it might be best to move in case the true owner comes poking along." Even if she didn't go along with his plan, it was about time for her to start moving again anyways. So long as he didn't start any fights, she would tolerate him for now, and see what he was up to.

"So be it. I would be delighted to have you accompany my, humble self." The saber jumped down from the tree branches and bowed low. This was the opportunity he needed yet he kept his demenior smooth and collected. If things worked out well he would show her his current living location and maybe let it drop that there were defensless baskets to be had. Mare was one thing, foal quite another, but the meat within those delightful pies crusts of straw was a delicesy of another level. If those baskets were attacked by another skinwalker, surely that damn troll elder would stop breathing down his neck. He had made sure to be seen doting on them to reinforce the image of his loving fatherhood. "It is not much of a journey this way, though we might want to make haste." Solemn sniffed the air once. "I do believe we may be due for more company.

The pale colored bat, dropped from the tree, already in the process of changing into her full form. Since her run-in with the harpies, flying was a painful endeavor, so she had only been using her batform to keep her protected. Once she was in her full form, the still healing scars were more visible to anyone who cared to notice. Neva was in no mood for company. She was still irritated at having her current company. But for now, she would let this other walker amuse her. If it seemed like trouble, she would turn the other way and leave.
"Lead the way." Was all she said to the other walker. She had no interest in making conversation.
