Bio: What does it take for a Great Summoner to change? This is a major question... and she has indeed changed. Mir is effectively unique in having been a person to hold the names of two different Great Summoners, though not at the same time. When she was younger, she held the name of Raidou Kuzunoha, the greatest title that the organization known as the Yatagarasu could offer. However, at their request, she voluntarily gave it up for another one, creating a new fourth line to replace the damage and shame that the last Ichirou Kuzunoha (Cesc Fabregas) had left behind. To some, this seemed like a devotion, but Mir knew the truth - they needed someone they could trust, with the skills and the knowledge to devote to the task. Kyouji was needed on missions, and Geirin was Geirin... and so Ciela Kuzunoha the I was named, combining all the power and ability of the Raidou line with the full knowledge of the Yatagarasu's greatest secrets and arts. Despite the change in name, she's actually more powerful than before, and trusted with facing the direst threats to Japan. Incidentally, this has actually given her far more free time, since she's been told directly to allow others to handle most matters. She can perform her studies just about anywhere, and she happens to like a little town called Inaba... Deus Incarnatio is very explicitly not the solution to a threat - humans are supposed to live or die with their own power, and it's up to them to oppose evil. However, if humanity is able to honor the ancient agreements, then the deity permits a summoning of itself, where it draws the defeated foe into an infinite purgatory and punishes them for their crimes. Eventually, when their sins have been absolved, they are reincarnated anew in one of the many worlds and offered a chance to try again. Humans must defeat the threat; the power of a deity stops it from coming back. Naturally, this ends poorly at times, but he's relatively sturdy. He keeps his demons around at all times, even disguising them in Human forms and passing them off as people he knows. Be it family, friends, or anything in between. Bio: Jo lived a rather...dull life to put it tactfully. He grew up in an extremely quiet town, similar to Inaba. As such, he tended to stay indoors and preferred to hang out with companions known in the virtual universe, otherwise known as Video games. After he transferred to Inaba, he noticed some of the strange things happening, though he had no idea what was the source. The Fog lifted eventually, and he went about his life. Schoolwise, he was kept back a year, thanks to a technicality when shifting schools, thus making him have to go back through senior Year. His parents left for the big city, leaving Jo to fend for himself in the small town, causing him to work at the local superstore chain, known as Junes. He makes enough money to get by, and had a calm life.....For a while. However, all good things come to an End eventually, and soon enough, he'd stumbled upon a Book. A book that would change his life forever.... Summoning for DummiesWith this book, and some help from a shadowy assistant, Jo(shu) eventually developed into a Devil Summoner, and now Serves the Yatagarasu....in the loosest sense possible. He's content to live a normal life, and though his summons are all played off as extended family, he can only keep up the facade for so long before someone finds out. Unlike the other Kuzunoha who fight major enemies and do many of the major, visible tasks, Kyouji gets assigned most of the Yatagarasu's dirty work, the grimy stuff that nobody wants to touch. Assassinations, undercover work, and stealth/reconnaissance are all specialties of hers, making her even more dangerous when you don't see her than when directly engaged in a fight. Prone to making grand entrances simply for fun when she goes somewhere new or is meeting someone, she can still be surprisingly easy to approach at times and when she is not out for a specific purpose can be quite interesting to talk to. When focused, however, her temper can be somewhat explosive, and she sometimes has a contemplative streak that can be deadly if interrupted. Her often used nickname, Gord, and official title, Kyouji Kuzunoha, are somewhat androgynous...thus, she often oscillates in referring to herself both as a female and as a male, but can be rather insistent about which one she is referred to as by someone else. In appearance she is somewhat beautiful, though her less-than-stellar chest and serious expressions make it easy, at times, for people to think that she is merely a very good looking man. Bio: From a very secretive branch of the Kuzunoha, 'Gord' sealed away her true name from a very young age to begin training in the art of Devil Summoning and in the ways of stealth and combat. Given 'Gord' as a moniker by which she would go by until she had earned the right to her title, she lived in the rural outskirts of the Inaba region with her caretaker, the previous Kyouji Kuzunoha and the Yatagarasu agents who came to visit them. Being there, she often was allowed to venture into town in order to obtain supplies, to mingle with the people, but rarely was she ever allowed to stay for long or make many lasting contacts [unless they were the useful type]. Thus she became somewhat jaded with humanity and friendship, though not to the point where she is incapable of such a thing...in fact, her somewhat strange sense of humor endears her to a low of people who know her, making it easier for her to obtain contacts as she grew up. Thus she grew, both in strength and in social network, continuously preparing herself for the day when she would inherit the name of Kyouji Kuzunoha. It was her life to become worthy of the title, as if often was for all who made the sacrifices necessary to become Kuzunoha...but unlike Kai and much like Raidou, to become Kyouji Kuzunoha was her decision, though it was mostly because it was all she knew. The transfer of title came shortly after her sixteenth birthday, after she had completed her high school education requirements under the home schooling of her now-predecessor...her training in the arts of Devil Summoning...and her training in the arts of fighting. Upon accepting this title she began to learn just how dirty and serious a job she had taken...and though many of her failed predecessors had fallen apart at the dark nature inherited by those who claim the name 'Kyouji' [often seen as the darker Kuzunoha branch, those who receive the 'dirty' jobs from the Yatagarasu], Gord mostly remained the same as she had been prior. Whether it was because she had already become jaded...or because she swallows her complaints, her grief, and everything else about the job that she might hate or even loathe...nobody really knows. Her contacts are mostly kept at an arm's length...after all, they say the life of a Kuzunoha is a lonely one. Although he never speaks about his past, his transcript shows that he moved to the Iwatodai area from a remote village called Tsukigata and, for the first couple of years, spent life as a well known delinquent in Iwatodai. After a fight in which several students were left severely hurt however, Kai was fingered even though no one involved would speak of the matter and say who had defeated them. Eventually, to avoid the 'annoyance' that the school's grim outlook on him provided, Kai moved away to Inaba to avoid any further probing and to once again be shrouded in mystery. Although he rarely speaks and gives a cold shoulder to most people, he provides plenty of advice to people 'for a price', and sometimes can still be easily fingered as a delinquent...something that may not bode well for others who want to cause trouble around him. The unknown aspect of his past which he never talks about includes the fact that he was raised for most of his life to become a Devil Summoner in the tradition of Geirin Kuzunoha the XXI. However Kai was unwilling to become a Kuzunoha, but due to his immense talent, his master selfishly convinced himself that he was only being rebellious and taught him anyway. When he died, Kai as officially named the successor to the title of Geirin Kuzunoha, but it was a responsibility that he never wanted. Unable to shirk the burden due to the Yatagarasu's influence, however, he begrudgingly accepted the title...he only ever seems to act like a Kuzunoha, however, when it is convenient. Compared with his counterpart, Raidou, he is something of a polar opposite to her dedicated and proud approach to her title of a summoner...being unwilling, disinterested, and only really cooperative when situations are incredibly dire, or when provoked by some outside source. Personality: Inquisitive, eccentric, and irrationally confident. Doesn't find it strange in the least that his summoners are all related to one another. He's the type who claims to feel a strong bond to things near and dear to him. Impulsive, very swift, and occasionally oblivious, he has always been the sort to walk to the beat of his own drum with little thought for order, rules, and tradition. When becoming serious, however, he can be quite surprising...though not always in the best of ways... Bio: Once upon a time, in the famed Kuzunoha Village, there was a boy who underwent the training all summoners who might one day become a 'Great Summoner' by lineage were forced to endure. His name was Nito Nekata, and he had a dream...to become the greatest devil summoner since the Fourteenth Raidou! He attended lessons, fought alongside his other trainees...including the current Raidou Kuzunoha herself...and was consistently rated dead last in nearly every single category that pertained to the control and application of summons in combat. Frankly put, he was an awful summoner. Not necessarily because he lacked potential, but because he had a penchant for picking out the most volatile, angry, and least cooperative summons that he came across. By some miracle he would get one to serve him, and then they would instantly question him, to his chagrin...and in combat they often turned on one another as quickly as their enemy. It was occasionally said that if he could get a decent roster of compliant summons together, he might actually be pretty good at the job...of course, his own preferences meant that was likely never to happen. To his credit, however, there were none in the village who shared the same combat potential as Nito when it came to hand-to-hand combat and other physical, one-on-one battles. Even as a youth, he could hold his own with devils of a considerable power and skill...a savate savant, with deadly kicks and powerful punches to support them. This alone kept him in the training, despite his struggles as an actual summoner. This lead him to believe he had a chance...a chance that one day soon he would be named into the role of a Great Summoner, ahead of his peers...but it was not to be. Between the current Raidou, Geirin, and Kyouji, three worthy successors had already been selected by their respective masters. And the final Kuzunoha had gone on the lam some time ago, taking all of the remnants of his line with him...and leaving a hole in the ranks of the Great Summoners unfilled. For a while, he remained content to fight for the right to one day succeed his peers...but as his combat skills grew and he filled out the ranks of his demons one-by-one, his patience waned. The Kuzunoha needed a fourth Great Summoner...but nobody seemed willing to step up and claim the role. Beginning his career as an unnamed Devil Summoner for the Yatagarasu, he began taking on missions and succeeding even in the more dangerous ones...though always with considerable collateral damage and trouble within his own ranks. As a result, Nito was assigned a caretaker (of whom he is very fond, despite always causing her quite a bit of trouble) who was meant to keep an eye on him...following him, assisting him, and ensuring that he never made a move that would harm the Yatagarasu or get himself killed/exposed. Little did they know that his biggest, most ridiculous move was yet to come. Finally, after the Second Persona War and the splitting of the Yatagarasu from the Mori Shogunate, Nito came to a decision...that the Crows would never be complete until a Fourth Great Summoner rose from their ranks to fill the missing hole. Naming himself 'Jakken' and taking the name Kuzunoha as his own, Nito decided to fill that hole himself...and took off from the station he had been given to wander the country and serve the good of Japan in his own way...as the newest member of the Kuzunoha! ...Unfortunately, of course, this self-promotion was never officially recognized by the Yatagarasu...and has repeatedly been declined/denied by any and all who are questioned about the purported existence of a 'Jakken Kuzunoha'. Attempts to recall Nito to the village for questioning and punishment have gone unheeded, however, as 'Jakken's work continues to drag him around the country wherever help is needed! Most recently, he has been investigating the appearance of a strange 'sea-monster' at the Shirichi Beach reported by an old man with a fishing habit...bringing him within range of the spiritual hotbed of Inaba. At this, Red seemed to back down from trying to overexert himself, having a bit of trauma from the event.... However, one day he had noticed a demon being assaulted by several others. He still held fear in his heart from what had happened before, and for a mere moment, he had doubted himself. However, after that moment, he charged in and defended the Demon as best he could. He'd been battered, bruised, and pounded yet again...But the demon had been grateful for his help, and thanked him profusely. At this, he had felt a fire burning inside him...He had found his calling. He didn't want to fight his rival for the title of best anymore..He didn't desire the spotlight...He didn't desire to be expected to be taking on challenges. No... Bio: Henry's parents were a pair of devil summoners who never felt capable of raising their son, and entered him into the Kuzunoha Village when he was young. Having never met them, Henry began to yearn for a family from a young age, and a lot of people say he became unbalanced early on. Growing up in the village, with a talent and surplus of magnetite at that, Henry was quickly accepted into devil summoning classes and began practicing with his peers like Red and a dozen others. Despite warnings, he frequently snuck out of the village and practiced new spells, trying to develop his own superpower. Instead, Henry attracted the attention of a demon wolf, and though they became friends at first, he wasn't quite old enough to realize that he couldn't control the wolf. Instead, when he tried to re-enter the village the wolf refused to do anything but follow, and it took the villagers for enemies, and visa versa. Despite his attempts to intervene, a battle quickly took place and his first animal friend was slain. Henry was unable to control his temper, and quickly turned on the villagers, fighting until he was forcefully captured and made to calm down. Despite the pain he felt and had inflicted, the elders chose not to ban him from the village, in no small part due to his parents...who showed their faces for the first time in their lives in order to testify for him. He knew it wasn't out of love though; if he got banned, it'd just reflect badly on them as much as it did him, and he was actually kind of happy when they never spoke to him after that. After that Henry was singled out from the rest of the group for lessons, but his skills never dropped off, so they kept him around. And despite their initial bad feelings about the incident with the demon wolf, the elders decided they held no ill will towards him. This was helped by Henry himself, who seemed to believe in the Yatagarasu and what they were doing, and like the Kuzunoha Village and their way of life as well. He still liked animals though, and the crow held a particular place in his heart; one of many reasons he constantly flaunted for why he didn't want to leave the Yatagarasu, considering the symbol of their organization was that most holy of crows. He's been used for missions, and gotten his credentials as a Summoner now, sure, but that doesn't mean that the kid didn't have a rough going early on in the Devil Summoner order, and from time to time his icy smile still causes others to doubt his commitment, though he'll assure you it's no less than your own. She’s patient and cheerful, and well…having to deal with the eccentric self-proclaimed Great Summoner, she learned how to go with the flow, instead of losing her patience with the pink haired guy. Loyal, friendly, easygoing…she places her trust on people without much difficulty, and will stay true to them for the most part. Being mature and rational doesn’t mean she has no sense of humor or is a complete killjoy, the girl knowing how to enjoy the little things and how to have fun. Still, she could be considered childish at some situations. Like her behaviour around dogs, and her dislike for cats (she's allergic). Bio:Nia lived all her childhood in an orphanage near Oshu, and being a restless child, she tended to avoid the building with its rules as much as she could, wanting to ‘live adventures’. A stray dog was all she had back then, finding it one day in a dark alley with a wounded leg. How the animal had gotten such serious wounds, she had no idea, but...just the thought of leaving it there broke her heart. It was alone in the world, just like she was. The girl tended to it as best as she could, returning each day to feed it and spending most of her time take care of it...reading books about dogs and asking questions to vets here and there when she wasn't. It wasn’t long before she grew fond of the dog, and for it to follow her like a shadow. It wasn’t until one day, as she roamed about an area she shouldn’t have gotten close to, that her life took a turn she wouldn’t have anticipated. A demon heard her coming, and thought of her as a good snack. She would’ve been devoured if it hadn’t been for her dog revealing its true form as a demon itself and fending it off just long enough for the Yatagarasu to arrive and put the demon down. She immediately got interested in the people saving her then, along with the fact that her dog was no ordinary canine… that Nia decided to join them. From then on, she and her dog (now her demon) were taken into the service of the Yatagarasu and trained as Devil Summoners, meant to handle smaller outbreaks, to police smaller areas, and to assist the Kuzunoha whenever necessary in their work. She heard about Nito not long after, seeing him during his training sessions along with the other trainees. She thought of him as being odd, but at that time, she had not enough time, and not enough interest to dwell too much on it. Growing older and finally receiving her first commission as a guardian of a small village South of Fukushima, the day came soon thereafter that a summoner from the Village would be sent to the area to help her suppress a dangerous devil that had escaped in the Oshu region. That was when she met Nito for the second time, the two of them forming a pair to take down a particularly ferocious pair of Mezuki and Gozuki. She found herself surprised, even dumbfounded by the man's inability to control his demons...but impressed at the same time by his skills as a fighter compared to other summoners. Working together, they defeated the demons, but not without Nito having taken a significant beating (mostly from his own demons). She healed him, and the two became something like friends then, her initial idea about him changing completely then, though he was forced to return to the village again soon. ...But this incident would prove important to her future, as Nito received his own commission not long after as a higher-level devil summoner protecting a large portion of the central mainland. Of course, given his eccentricities, it was deemed a bit too dangerous for a man like Nito to be left on his own. Meaning that he needed to have a partner... Though most were deemed unqualified or simply didn't want anything to do with the eccentric summoner, there was one person whom Nito himself had given an excellent review after a recent mission...and that was her. Deciding on the spot she was the one best suited to temper his eccentricities, she was assigned to become his assistant, keeping him in-line and making sure that he never went too far with his unique brand of summoning. Keeping him in check, however, was a job much harder than she ever imagined...and even as she struggled, she found it impossible to change his mind when he decided to declare himself the new Fourth Kuzunoha and set off around the country to protect the people of Japan. Despite orders from the Yatagarasu to bring him in, though, she found that it was even harder to dissuade him now than it had been before...and there was a strange, almost childish sort of nobility about the way he sought to help the people. Unable to decide whether to simply let him be or drag him back to the Crows as per their orders, she continues to follow and assist him...keeping him out of as much trouble as possible until she makes up her mind. But with Nito, the 'fake' Kuzunoha, there's always more and more trouble to be found... And it's all that she can do just to keep up with him. Though if someone crosses her then she wouldn't feel bad about letting them fend for themselves. Why stick your neck out for someone that doesn't treat you with respect? Under Kansei's cold demeanor she really is a kind person. Bio: Kansei was born and raised in Kuzunoha Village. Ever since she was a child she was trained in the ways of being a summoner. It was something Kansei wanted to excel in and be like the Great Summoners of the village. It wasn't easy for her at first to get used to Summoning but she kept trying. Knowing she wasn't the only one struggling gave her some comfort and the drive to try harder. Though her training hit a snag after an unfortunate accident.. Kansei's mother cut her hair far too short one day. Others started mistaking her for a boy and it was very troublesome at first. Over time Kansei discovered that this mistake actually helped her. She had grown tired of correcting people and dressing in more masculine clothing. This gave her more confidence, since in her mind men were always stronger than females. So by acting less feminine, Kansei gained the self confidence she needed to start excelling at her training. Now Kansei has been sent to Inaba where many of her fellow Summoners are currently staying. A supernatural hotspot like that needs all the help it can get. She's got a bit of a harsh, cruel streak when it comes to managing demons, having a mostly results-driven method of handling things...She's focused on results, even if the methods can be unscrupulous..And while she's not exactly unable to be social, she does tend to shut out people frequently, writing off various counts of foolishness. Her almost cold demeanor isn't an act either: she almost genuinely feels like she's seen it all, even if there's far much more to see. Bio: Benni grew up in a summoner village, to an average family, with an older sister, and an older brother. While her family tried to ease her into the art of summoning and such, she decided to get started early, learning how to grasp at the powers as early as she physically could, and trying to find the best ways to handle things. Her parents and siblings praised her talent, though she merely kept at working to get stronger and better, not wanting to let people's comments of 'being good for her Age' Slide. No, she wanted to be good, period. While she grew up in the classes alongside Red, Asuka, Kansei, and the unhinged Henry, she wouldn't remain satisfied unless she could make a name of herself. Her Devil Summoning abilities were up to par, and her investigative senses of solving mysteries were top notch, even if her physical prowess was a bit sub-par...At first. She continued to train, acquiring new demons and such as times passed, swapping out old ones for newer ones, concerned with being able to excel. While the others sought tutelage from Raidou and Kyouji, Benkyou had desired to train with Geirin "Kai" Kuzunoha...But she was rejected a while back unceremoniously. She took this as a snub to her abilities, (Which could have very well been at her in general) but rather than getting into a fight over it that she would lose, she decided instead she'd just have to get stronger and prove him wrong later in life. Though, she acquired a bit of an innate distaste as she learned of other summoners...New ones that hadn't gone through the harsh lessons and such to learn how to summon naturally...but rather, relied on an app, or other mechanical device to do so. A few such examples were scouted by Kyouji herself....But, Benkyou didn't believe that they would be on the level of a real Yatagarasu summoner. As such, she wanted to see them with her own eyes, and their potential first hand. So, she was transferred to Inaba, along with the others to oversee the great threat that lay before them. Then, at one point sometime before he was supposed to obtain his first demon, he had been wandering around outside of the village and had encountered a succubus. Although it was quite strange, it was quite peculiar that Wayato was able to, albeit not very well, control the succubus.
