Roll a Twelve: Graveyard Field: In this particular field selection, the stadium ceiling is shut tight, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness. The ordinary dirt field is swapped out for a field full of grave stones scattered across the lifeless soil. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST and DARK type attacks.

Mina eyed the stadium, her frown expressing her distaste for the randomized field that had been chosen. It wasn't the cold that bothered her, or even the darkness, for she had gone through enough of those during her travels to grow accustomed to it. No; it was the gravestones that haunted her, and she would have left while her opponent's section was still empty if she hadn't been determined to try and strengthen both herself and her Pokémon. And this, she thought, was as good of an opportunity as any.

Rohe, on the other hand, saw no reason to feel any negativity towards the stage. It was only soil here, with a few scattered stones and a dead tree, and darkness that was neither oppressing nor secretive. There was no pool, no ice, and no trees. It would be simple enough for her to move about, and she waited expectantly for her opponent.

Lenore smiled at the field they had been given. She liked the ambiance here - it was quiet and lonely. To her side, Mephistopheles agreed with her sentiments.

The duskull floated down to meet his opponent, bowing. "Good day. My name is Mephistopheles, but you may call me Mephisto. I shall be your opponent this day. Good luck."

Mina jumped when she saw the Duskull here -- for a moment, she thought it itself was part of the grave. It was only when she saw the silhouette of its trainer across the field was she relieved, and she laughed nervously at herself.

Hoping to boost at least one of their confidences, she called out, "Try Swagger, Rohe!"

Rohe gladly did so. Without deigning to reply, she puffed herself up haughtily and approached the Duskull with the easy gait of one who is assured of her victory.

Mephistopheles paid the marowak little heed. Instead, he raised a single arm, firing a gout of ice at his opponent.

The sudden drop in temperature did little to ease Mina's spirits in this gloomy field, but she nonetheless called, "Counter with another Ice Beam!"

Rohe grimaced when she was struck, and she wasted no time in shooting off a retaliatory beam of ice.

The ice passed harmlessly through Mephistopheles as he phased out. Returning to the material world, his eye glowed.

Rohe wouldn't have admitted it to anybody, but the sudden glow was eerie, and she found herself unable to use Ice Beam again.

With a snarl, she attempted to boost her own morale with another Swagger.

Mephistopheles ignored the marowak's posturing. Raising his arm again, he shot another burst of ice forward.

Things weren't looking good for Rohe -- Mina didn't think any of her attacks had had any affect on the Duskull whatsoever. They'd have to go with something much more physical, it seemed.

"Try Fling!"

Rohe roared her displeasure at being stuck with Ice Beam and struck a headstone with her bone. It broke easily under the force of her attack, and she flung one of the stones at the Duskull.

The Ice Beam took Rohe's arm, but luckily, it was the one without her bone. After a few whaps, it gave way, and she flung it back towards the Duskull.

Rohe sidestepped the beam, but stayed relatively close to her original position. The ice and chunks of rocks could still be used, after all, and she aimed another at the Duskull.
