Mihkokwan had finally managed to find herself something to eat, she had spotted a jackal trying to drag away remains of a small antelope and luckily, the rust-colored lioness had been intimidating enough to scare it off and steal its spoils. She felt bad stealing from other animals but when it came down to pain that wrenched her stomach, and she still couldn't hunt poor, sweet Mihko had no choice. She was a kind-hearted young adult. She was picking the meat off the carcass quickly and wolfing it down. You never know when someone else bigger than you could come along and sometimes the female didn't know when he next meal would be. It didn't take long until she had finished with the carcass, and Mihko pulled herself to her paws, shaking her body, tail flicking behind her.

She sighed in relief and a big smile spread across her features. The muscular female glanced about, wondering where she may be able to find some water to drink and rinse off and relax. She began padding to her east, grinning and looking about. Mihko spotted a little bird flying nearer to her and delighted in its wing beats, it's dips and dives, and soon it was flying along above her. It almost seemed as though the little bird was following, watching her. The thought crossed her mind that maybe it was delighting in her earthly movements. She smiled even more and increased her gait, prancing along beneath the little bird, giggling and making little growls at it. She was a bit of a silly sight sometimes, frolicking about. Mihko didn't usually see any reason not to be happy and so she tried to enjoy all moments of life. And playing with birds and butterflies was one of the ways she most enjoyed just being care-free.

Gunju had gone off on his own to try to hunt. Rashida had made fun of him enough, and he wanted to prove her wrong. Of course, he probably should have brought her with him, or even Kousetsu. He wasn't the best hunter, him being fat and all. He wasn't just fluff, like some lions, he was fat. It wasn't something he could help either, he didn't eat much, he was just naturally fat... And very clumsy.

He didn't even know how he became a hunter... He wasn't one. He sighed, he wasn't good at doing anything but being made fun of. He had been too busy thinking about how useless he was, that he was a bit startled when he noticed the other lioness in the distance. She seemed nice enough, though he could tell she wasn't part of his pride. Perhaps she knew where to find some prey, he was no good at stalking them.

The voice of another creature suddenly startled the little bird, which sped off fast and high into the sky above Mihko. It took her a money to realize that it was indeed what had frightened the bird. As she drew her gaze away from the little bird, now so high it was only a speck, it fell across the sight of a male of her own kind, a soft tan hue with neat blue markings. The orange-furred female offered him a large, goofy grin and swished her tail. The young lioness perked her ears forward and her eyes lit up. Mihko was always excited to meet new creatures, especially those of her own kind, and this big fella didn't look mean at all. "Hello...miss-TER!" she giggled playfully, taking his own words and making a funny.

Mihko was happy to see someone else out here, she never really knew where she was going, and had no real home yet. She had always known about prides, but as she'd been abandoned and near starved to death, the now healthy and muscular young adult had raised herself, and thus missed out on such things. "Where'd you come from, huh?" she quizzed him, eyes alight and a grin from ear to ear.

Okay... This wasn't quite going the way he imagined it to go. She seemed a little odd to him. Then again, he'd been in a pride all his life and only knew those that lived there. He'd never met someone out side of the pride until now. He was beginning to think that perhaps this was a bad idea. Then again, it couldn't really hurt anything right? He wasn't THAT anti-social that he couldn't talk to someone he'd never met before.

"I came from Tuait'tekem." He told her. Surely she's heard of his pride before? He still had in his mind that Tuait'tekem was one of the only prides out there. Then again, he had only heard a few stories of other prides, and they were far away. He wondered how long it had taken some of them to reach there, but he never had the guts to ask. "I was wondering if you've seen any game trails around here." He pawed at the ground, looking down away from her gaze. It wasn't that he couldn't look at her, he was ashamed that he was asking her stuff he should already know.

Mihkokwan was still reveling in the fact that she now had company, nevermind how temporary it may or may not turn out to be. She couldn't help but smile. The small female shifted her weight and tilted her head at his question. Unfortunately, this was not a thing with which young Mihko came in handy in the least. She bowed her own head, staring at her paws and wiggling her toes for a second. "Actually..." She began, then paused, not sure what she should say to him next. Did she want to admit that she had no idea how to hunt to a perfect stranger? "I'm not from around here, I usually just wander, so I don't have much of any idea where anything is. And is the Tuait'tekem your home?" she inquired, ears perked in curiosity. "I've never heard of that..." the rust-colored female trailed off again, fidgeting slightly in place.

She hoped that it wasn't rude, but Mihko didn't particularly feel like standing any more right now, and if they were going to chat, she may as well sit, right? The lioness plopped onto her haunches and nodded to him, her smile not as big and welcoming now, just pleasant. She was usually friendly and polite, but it seemed that maybe this stranger was thinking something of her. Mihko was fully aware that sometimes other creatures found her disposition off-putting or strange. A frown almost crossed her features, but she did well at hiding this momentary lapse of confidence.

For lack of something better to add to the conversation after Mihko had answered his questions, she decided to offer her name, "My name is Mihkokwan." The young female smiled sweetly, practically wagging her tail. She wiggled a little where she sat. "What's yours?" She inquired as she quirked a brow.

Gunju kinda gave a blank face, he wasn't sure what to say about that. He was beginning to realize how much of the outside world he knew nothing about. Not that it was too much of a problem for him, he hated having to leave to go hunting, but it was his job. Normally he didn't go alone, however. Well, perhaps this was a good thing that she didn't know where anything was to be hunted, he didn't want to look completely useless in front of a stranger. A long moment past before he actually spoke. "Tuait'tekem is the pride that is that way," He nodded his head towards the direction he had come.

He wasn't sure how else to say it. Perhaps she'd understand now, he'd hate to have to explain what a pride was. He watched her sit, and took it as if he was suppose to as well. Which he did... and not very quietly either. A small thump came from him flopping his butt upon the ground. " I'm Gunju" He told her. He didn't have any fancy nicknames, unless you were to ask Rashida, then it'd be Fatty. She always called him that... He hated it.

"Oh!" the lioness exclaimed, "Well isn't that neat! I haven't heard of many prides, it must be big and important then, huh?" She rambled, her eyes again lighting up and she began to wiggle in place a little more. Yeah, Mihko was a little hyper. "That would be so great to be around lots of lions all the time..." The orange-furred female trailed off, giggling a little. "All the other creatures I've met in my life never lived in prides. Most of them were with small groups or their families." For a second, the young lioness looked a little sad after speaking the word family...She shook it off, hoping that this new acquaintance wouldn't have noticed.

"Gunju...Gunju, Gunju." The female repeated the name to herself, and then hummed a tune for a moment. "That's a really special name, I never heard anything like it." She smiled. Mihko loved complimenting other creatures if they were nice and gave her the opportunity. Not only that, but she was just genuinely nice, and she really did think his name was interesting and special. "Is your name like that because of your pride? Someone told me before that sometimes lions in prides have special names..." Mihko trailed off, figuring she'd better give him a chance to answer her. She gave a small laugh and shifted to sit on her other side.

"I.... don't know." he said with a shrug. He wasn't about to get into it with her though. He wasn't someone who was made for explaining things, he didn't want to come off as being conceded after all. He shrugged at her comment. "It's okay, I suppose." Again, he didn't know what to say to it. He wasn't use to this. "I can't say I've been around anything else." He added. He'd always lived here, after his mom gave him and two of his siblings to his father. He didn't remember her much.

"I forgot what it meant, but it goes along with what my pride is about." he said to her. He forgot the tale his father had told him, but it was so long ago. He supposed most of his pride members had silly names that most wouldn't have heard. "I've never heard your name before either." he said trying to keep things casual. He gave another shrug "I think everyone's name is special one way or another, as it's their name, and no one elses." Even if someone had the same name, it was different as if they didn't have the same name. He wasn't sure if anyone would get that, which was why he didn't say it. Perhaps it'd make him look stupid.

Mihko was excited to hear that he had never heard her name either. But for that matter, neither had she. The rust-colored lioness giggled again. "Well, I guess we are really in the same sort of situation then." She smiled, "It's really nice to meet you, anyways, you're pretty nice." She added, flicking her ears. "What you say about names makes sense. I guess none of us are really the same no matter what, but it's nice that we have similarities, right?" Again, she offered him a kind smile.

"I'm really sorry that I don't know where to find anything to hunt..." Mihko trailed off for a second, pondering her previous curiosity of whether or not there was water around here. Gunju said he lived around here, maybe he would know, "You wouldn't know if there's anywhere to drink and bathe around here then would you?" The friendly little lioness asked. She felt bad asking him where to get water when she was unable to assist him in finding food, but it was still an important thing to ask, and if he didn't, she could go off later and find it on her own anyways. She was never shy asking others for help, as she liked to think she offered as much as she could, when she could.

He wondered if she'd understand what he really wanted to add to that, but he refrained from saying it. It wasn't that important anyways. But he figured she got the jist of what he was saying. His tail flopped up and down on the ground behind him. "I suppose that is what I was getting at. " He didn't add anymore to the subject. To him it was over with, now that they both kinda agreed on it.

"I shouldn't be hunting alone, anyways." he said with a half assed smile. He didn't want to seem too lame, after all. He wasn't really putting anything into their conversation, he felt awkward being here, but he couldn't get up and leave. It would be rude. "Um... I... Kinda." He said with a shrug. He wasn't sure if she could come into his pride lands, but that was the only body of water he knew about. "But... It's in my pride." He said.

"Oh, I see." Mihko said, wondering how come he hadn't just said it then if that's what he was meaning to say in the first place. She shrugged and figured maybe he didn't wanna talk about it anyways. "Well, are you usually hunting with others?" She inquired, again tilting her head. This seemed strange to her, as she was always on her own, but it wasn't a completely foreign concept. The rust-colored female was beginning to feel like maybe the male was getting bored of talking with her. This happened quite often too, maybe she just wasn't that interesting if creatures didn't like to play and goof around like she did. Oh well, she thought.

"If it's in your pride, maybe it belongs to them and I'm not allowed?" Mihko said, her heart sinking a little. It didn't seem like the kind of thing for a lone lioness to go into a pride and just take their water...so she would be off to find her own later then. She flicked her tail and shifted her weight again, watching Gunju's facial expressions. He seemed so unsure about it, anyway, so there was no point. "Maybe we could look for some out here..." Mihko suggested quietly, "and maybe if we're looking for it, we can find something for you to hunt...?" The muscular young lioness added, trying to maintain her helpful and friendly nature.

He nodded at her. "Well, we're suppose to hunt with others." He said as if it was known to all. "You get better chance of success in a hunt." And you also get a lot more food as well. If he had tackled down a water buffalo, he wouldn't have been able to drag it back to the pride. Though, he supposed when you live by yourself, you don't have to worry about stuff like that. He'd never thought about having to do things by himself until today. Though, he regretted it already.

"It's more I am not sure if they'd appreciate me bringing in someone no one knows." He didn't want to be rude about it, but it was how things went. He didn't want to see her get attacked for some reason, even though their pride was generally peaceful, but he was sure if threatened they'd take action that was needed to protect everyone. He wasn't sure he liked that idea. He didn't know if he wanted her to help him. Then she'd see how useless he was. "I..... I suppose that could work." But he had already disappointed her once.

The young lioness thought very carefully about what he had said about his pride. Mihko had no notion of how these things worked, of course, so it seemed confusing and not very friendly to her. But as all lions knew, lions were territorial. It made sense, despite however nice or not it was. "N-no, I understand. It's ok. I suppose if I had anything that was mine, I'd protect it too." She nodded, almost as if she were agreeing with herself.

Going back on what Gunju had said previous to explaining why it wasn't a good idea to take her to get water, of course the orange-furred female had never hunted with anyone else. She had hardly ever hunted by herself, so while this wasn't unheard of to Mihko, it was again something strange that she had never experienced. To be honest, Mihko hadn't really thought of life in a pride ever until now. She'd always been on her own, always expected to be on her own. Now she was beginning to wonder and think about how nice it would be to have others that could help you when you were in trouble, or hungry, or thirsty...She let out a little sigh and shook her head.

"I know I already said I don't know where anything is around here, so I guess it won't make much difference what direction we go, does it?" She laughed. It was hard for Mihko to be in a bad mood, and it wasn't very often she stayed upset long if something made her wonder, or if someone made her feel bad. "Maybe if we find water there might even be something to hunt there already!" She suggested optimistically- secretly hoping that she wouldn't really have to partake in the actual hunting part of this excursion. Although she had offered to help, and didn't intend on going back on it if the situation did arise.

Even though he had lived near these lands, he had never been this far away from his pride, so he didn't really know where to start. He pondered for a bit, but he really didn't want to venture too far from his pride. Perhaps he'd find his way back soon. If not, he was sure someone would come out looking for him anyways. he flicked his tail and shrugged. "Well, I suppose we only have three options to travel, as we can't go back towards my place." So it wasn't any direction is best.

He stood up and shook of any of the dirt and sand that might have clung to his fur. It was time to get moving, at least perhaps if they found water, he could make some silly excused to get out of hunting with her. He was embarrassed more than anything, and he didn't want her to see the true side to him. He didn't want anyone to see. Even though half the hunting party in the pride had. He had messed up a few hunts, yet they still managed to bring something back. He wondered why they didn't kick him out there, though no one was really upset at him.

Strange things happen all the time, he supposed. "Maybe we should go this way." he started to walk in a direction that might keep the pride to his left. That way he could get home easy if he needed. He didn't want the sent to disappear on him. He wasn't good at finding things, after all. "Maybe there's something this way." He said more to himself than to her. Perhaps she'd follow, no... He knew she'd follow. She was the one that made the suggestion. His paws felt heavy each time the hit the ground, leaving a small foot print in the soft dirt and sand mixture below. He couldn't help but to watch his feet instead of the direction he was going. Things were going to be a long today. The sun was pounding on his tan back, he could feel the heat of the sun god watching over him. Please give me strength, he begged.

"Yeah, you're right. I forgot." Mihko said, giving a silly little grin. Her cheeks felt hot for a moment. The young lioness shrugged as the male stood, and then pulled herself to her paws also. Her long tail swished behind her as she stood, watching him for a moment. She wasn't sure if it was better for him to lead or if she should start, but then Gunju solved that problem, as he suggested a way to go. The rust-colored lioness began padding along beside him in the direction that he had chosen. Mihko wasn't picky when it came to stuff like this, and neither of them knew where anything was anyway, so she was more than happy to follow along. She found it entertaining how his big paws left imprints in the dirt. She wasn't slight by any means, but the muscular female did not leave paw-prints behind her here.

"So how come you ARE out here alone anyways?" She inquired, the thought that it might be a rude or annoying question not crossing her mind at all. Mihko didn't usually realize if she was being rude, because to her all questions seemed valid. The point of a question was to collect information, after all, and that was all she ever tried to do. Especially now since they are going to walk together to look for water, may as well not walk in silence! The orange-furred lioness continued to swish her tail behind her, and looked over at him quizzically following her question.
