Amityville.

Perhaps the last place the horsemen had expected Medea to bring them to, or perhaps everything really, had been planned. The high priestess took the front, the four Heirs, Protectors, flanking her as she walked not towards the front gates but around, towards the section known as the gymnasium quarters, close to the Weeping Forest. It was late in the evening: the school grounds were practically abandoned at this time.

"It is not by coincidence that I requested our reserves to be close to Amityville," Medea explained in her level, even voice, "Amityville, the beginning and end of adventures, where a Reaper, one who was even considered a guest in our former clans, created a small mechanism, a doorway, to his liking." She swept into the school itself now, down the deserted corridors, stopping only when she reached the staircase, one hand tracing the archaic gargoyle statue that rested at the base. "He sleeps now, waiting for his revenge perhaps, but his legacy is left behind, a mere fraction of his secrets underneath this very school. Perhaps the founder of this school had been wise enough."

Her nails scratched at the base of the statue, tracing something at the base, words perhaps, until there was a small click. Another stairwell opened up from a passage to their right, what had been a simple wall, leading below.

"Those who know the secret gain the right of entry," The High Priestess talked as she walked, tone almost revering now, "So much has been lost, spells, magic, lore, even hidden corridors, only the most crucial remain. And we shall use this to our advantage."

Though it was dark, blindly so, a strange feeling, a whisper, an echo, seemed to guide the horsemen as they walked in Medea's footsteps. Something calling to them perhaps, whispering to them something, a language as old as the Four Clans, babbling fragments of stories, a foundation, an empire that-

-"We are here." The Head Priestess spoke almost too soon, standing next to a glowing crystalline structure. A large mirror made entirely of hard crystal, a light source of its own that did not reflect the darkness around them but something else, a faded, etched away image almost of what seemed like a dark pine forest. The image flickered slightly as Medea stepped closer, humming. "This entryway to the Human World will secure our secrecy: noone is to know, especially not Halloween. They would never understand us, our ways, and they cannot begin to try. We do as we have always done to survive."

The transition to the Human World, stepping into the forest, the evening sky around them, air frigid and sharp, ground littered with leaves and soft soil, seemed almost natural. To the Four Clans, many of them, it was like breathing. The Human World had always been theirs, their playground, their right. Living cloistered in one section, a small piece of laughable land was like caging a pent up animal. They lived to roam and conquer.

And just as they lived, breathed, desired, their instincts fell naturally to something else close by. The crackle of warm fires, a light scent of smoke. Humans, a camp, nearby.

This was by no means unintentional.

And as the humans moved in surprise at the new arrivals, shouting orders, coats glimmering white then gold then soft hues of orange cast with shadows, summoning weapons, living, breathing, glowing weapons at their disposal, it was clear exactly what sort of camp they had arrived at.

Even a hornet's nest should yielded to greater predators.

HORSEMEN PRP: INVADING THE CAMP:

- ALL HORSEMEN ARE INVITED TO THIS RP (in fact they are encouraged to join it)
- Destroy, maim, kill, do as horsemen have done for centuries and show livestock their rightful place. They humans, these Hunters, fight back, but there are so few of them, they are easily outnumbered by the Horsemen.
- Each Hunter has 60HP. There are 4 Hunters at this camp.
- Roll a 4-sided dice to select your target, and then attack them accordingly. You have UNLIMITED attack turns, but for each time you attack the Hunter, they will hit you back for 5 auto damage.
- Attacking the Hunters feels good and empowers you further. For each successful hit you make, you gain + 1 attack to your current damage. It is practically a Fear rush to see them writhe, suffer, see them fall at your hands, vermin, simple cattle, falling as they should. You feel for the first time in months alive again, refreshed, energized, nearly unstoppable.
- You CAN use the charm Medea gives you. This adds bonus Fear to your attack, reminding you of how powerful you once were. Remove all damage modifiers (-8 modifier) and simply calculate how much damage you do with 2d8, you can use this unlimited times for THIS BATTLE ONLY. Fear attacks can also be used but MAKE SURE YOU POST at the bottom of your post the CUMULATIVE REMAINING HP of the current Hunter you are attacking.
- EXAMPLE POST: Horsemen A rolls a 4-sided dice and rolls 1. They are attacking HUNTER 1 (put at the bottom of the post your target). As they are first poster, Hunter 1 has 60/60 HP. Horsemen A rolls 5, 7 out of two 8-sided dice. They do 12 straight on damage. Make sure to post the updated HP value at the bottom of your post (48 / 60 HP). DO THIS FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE/ WRITING YOUR RP POST SO OTHERS HAVE A CHANCE TO POST.
- It is assumed that ALL HORSEMEN were at this meeting prior to this rp (even if you posted or not its still fine to post here, it just means your horsemen was ICly at that meeting)

((Target roll for Tseng))

The instructions were simple enough, though Tseng had to wonder just how long this secret had been kept. For that matter, what else was hidden around here? It didn't matter so much when they went through, finding a small band of humans. Not just any humans though. They were hunters.

It was a good chance to get some revenge. To avenge his fallen family, as well as the many others who had died. These were the ones responsible for the destruction of their great home.

"Hello. I am Tseng Lee! You have destroyed our homes and families. PREPARE TO DIE!" he shouted while getting into stance.

Before rushing in, Tseng called for his bow to take a quick aim at one of the hunters. He had Medea's charm with him, which made him feel stronger than he had in these past few months.

"ARROW OF VENGEANCE!" he cried out as he fired an arrow straight for one of the hunter's chest.

What was that he just felt? Was it.. Fear? Really? It was a feeling he missed. This was great.

Although often seen on the tail of her 'royal' entourage, it had been far too long since anyone had seen Cymbeline truly in battle. She waited for no one, no sooner out of the portal than she was astride her mount, a giant black horse with the heavy bones of a clydesdale, it's skin pinched and tight, like dark shadows coalescing in the form of a skeletal beast.

She charged headlong into the camp with a whoop of delight, the whirr of her scales swinging overhead was nearly drowned out by the heavy hoofbeats of her dark mount.

The arrow whipped past her on it's way to the target, sending adrenaline rushing through her like a flood. It had been ages since she was last this real, this... ALIVE. And the voices inside her knew it too, they howled in gleeful, unintelligible cries, cheering her on.

She brought the scales down with a crack, striking the hunter who was still distracted by the arrow wound. It was a BEAUTIFUL sound. The sound of breaking bones, the grunt of pain...

Cymbeline cackled as her horse thundered onwards, trampling the campfire under it's hooves and sending sparks flying. Were her brethren having such fun as well? She wheeled the steed around for a second charge, laughing like a lunatic.

The transition was as described. Easy. They were passing into the human world, a world where he had memories, oh so fond memories. His greatest hunts, his triumphs. Searching for whatever Astridr needed and bringing them back. Trophies. And here, waiting for them. Hunters. Humans.

His face broke into a flat out grin for the first time since the destruction of the Isles. This was going to be nice, oh so nice. He flexed his muscles, seeking out his target. Tseng and the Protector of Famine were already honed in on one pathetic creature, and it would be his pleasure to add to its destruction. There was no need to summon a weapon here, his gauntlet would do.

Amityville. They were at Amityville.

Why on earth were they at Amityville.

Following along behind the priestess, hands tucked into his sleeves, Mengyao's face was, as usual, a mask of innocence, his expression calm and politely disinterested. Beneath the facade, however, he was already attempting to discern as to why, of all places, Medea would choose to have them come to Amityville - but it seemed the answer to his unspoken question was about to be answered as it was.

It's so very lacking inside of here.

What a wretched sense of style they have.

I do not understand the purpose of that utterly disappointing statue.

Rather like yourself, isn't it?

How disappointing.

He shoved the thoughts away, gaze flicking briefly from one side to another and studiously ignoring the buzzing, irritating voices all crammed into his head and instead attempted to focus on Medea and their destination.

...which was not quite what Mengyao had expected.

They were no longer in Amityville - in fact, they were no longer in HalloweenTown at all.

As Mengyao drew a sharp, clear breath, cold air seeping into his lungs, he could already feel the odd, tingling sensation sliding through his veins, feel the brush of the wind against his face. He knew where they were without having to ask - this was the Human World. This was where everything was.

Where they were.

There was a glimmer of white, something ghostly, and Mengyao climbed up onto the back of the horse that had appeared beside him; a starkly bright contrast to the darkness that surrounded them. His fingers closed on the reigns, and there was a sharp whinny that escaped his mount's throat, the beast tossing its white maned neck.

It was time to ride.

Mmur was nervous. Actually nervous. The feeling made him sick. These months in Halloween had been entertaining enough. Playing with alpacas and pinning wooden pins on scarelings had taken his mind off of all the things he would rather not think about, but he was a soldier. A fighter. His people were weak and all they could think to do was sit around and whine about it.

He might have thought Medea was a weirdo, but like any good morale boosting team meeting, Mmur had come out of her gathering energized and ready to lay down some smack on whatever targets she chose, even if they turned out to be idiotic. He was pleasantly surprised to find they weren't idiotic at all.

Hunters. Mmur's grin was wild beneath his helm. Kill all Hunters.

He wasn't nervous anymore.

The charm Medea provided gave a boost of Fear to him, strength coursing through him in a way that he was accustomed to. This feeling, this rush, something he had not appreciated until he had missed it. But now, now these puny little hunters would be boosting their Fear as well. It was almost amusing that they fought back, the nicks and scratches at his Fear shield causing him to chuckle, an adult laughing at the antics of a child.

No, there was no need for his weapon here. No need to even dirty his gauntlet's claws on this one. Just a sharp backhand, watching the little hunter reel backwards. Reminding the creature who its masters were. They were Horsemen. They were strong. They would rebuild their empire. This all felt so good, so right. His eyes shone in the firelight. Every pathetic human life here could be sacrificed. Perhaps in death Astridr would know she was being avenged, that her memory could live on assured that these humans would know their rightful place.

He didn't hesitate. As soon as the humans sprang to life, brandishing their lobotomized slaves and shouting orders, Mmur sprinted forward in a flash, Medea's FEAR boost lending him speed he hadn't enjoyed since their homeland had been obliterated. His chained whip appeared as he ran, and when he was close enough, he flicked his wrist and its length squeezed around the nearest Hunter's neck, like an extension of his hands. He growled as he tugged it tighter, and when the human's eyes had almost bulged past the point where they would go back in all pretty, he let the waste of existence go. A quick death was too good for it.

It felt good to be back in the saddle again - both figuratively and literally speaking. Mengyao did not ordinarily make a habit of getting his hands dirty - that was what everyone else was for, really - but this time he supposed he could make an exception, especially considering who exactly they were attacking.

The scum of the world, the lowest form of existence. A smirk curled his lips upwards as his mount reared back, whinnying profusely, and Mengyao felt a long, sleek - and familiar - object appear in his fingers. He lifted the long bow, positioned himself carefully, and took aim at the first hunter he saw.

Say goodnight.

There was a whistling of air, the tension in Mengyao's fingers and the stiff positioning of his body disappearing as he released the arrow, satisfied to see that it had made its target. The hunter gave a shriek, but Mengyao was no longer paying attention to its pain.

Instead he readied another arrow.

Alva had remained cold and silent throughout the initial meeting, Medea was from a foreign clan, but there was respect for the strong willed priestess. He was willing to listen for the good of all their kind to anything that any clan had to offer them. Everyone felt the hollow ache, the stretched too thin feeling of the fear shortage, any solution was welcome.

He had not been expecting the chance to take such a direct approach to restoring it. The human world. It was almost like home, a delightful electrical feeling that for the time being seemed to lift away the veil of numb distantness he had been feeling. For the first time since the great catastrophe, he felt alive. Conquest existed to crush humanity firmly under it's heel, it was a desire as familiar as the urge to breathe.

His longbow was summoned, the first time in what felt like forever and he sought out one of the hunters in his sights.

It felt good to be fighting back. It felt like pride.

He hadn't even realised how much he'd been longing for a bit of vengeance, the hunters had liberated him for the constraints of rank and ambition but they had also taken away order, stability and the power that came with being part of a great civilisation. He owed them for the emotional pain they had inflicted, particularly on his sister always more susceptible to the changeable whims of feeling.

He'd been at a loss how to cheer her up, how to bring back the smiles he remembered. Perhaps this, if nothing else could bring them both a sort of closure.

Drawing back the bow, he fired at the nearest hunter, the arrow flying true with a satisfying strike.

Almost without thinking his horse was summoned, an outlet for the emotions he felt, still trapped behind his mask of grim calm. It reared behind him with a snort before pawing the ground impatiently, eyes blazing as he considered a more physical assault against the humans, a decision that was made for him as he was struck by a blow from one of the other humans nearby. They had some fight in them, it was almost cute.

The massive skeletal beast snorted and charged at it's rider's insane urgings, it's own path as unpredictable and wild as it's master. Yet it was not an indiscriminate trampling. It might not have had the imperial gait of the Conquest mounts, or lightfooted maneuverability, but the heavy horse floated through the Clan like sand on the desert breeze.

And descended on the fourth hunter like a sandstorm.

The huge black skeleton reared, it's front hooves high above the hunter's head, it's scream matching Cymbeline's laughter echoing off it's back. And then it dropped, crashing into the hunter who had little time to dodge.

"YOU INSECTS! YOU LITTLE ROACHES!" Cymbeline jeered, perched atop the great beast as it hurtled across the campsite yet again. "YOU THINK YOU WON SO EASILY? YOU THINK WE WILL EVER SUCCUMB AND DIE? YOU THINK WE WILL LICK OUR WOUNDS AND NEVER FIGHT BACK?"

She laughed, pausing at the edge of the clearing while her steed snorted and tossed it's mane. "You will know true fear now."
