Since the last time she had seen Yayuka she felt like things had become a mess. this was very true that was for sure. Her nephew was killed, on top of the drought there was now also nergui. She felt like there were many, many things going on and it frustrated her. She was preparing for way along ith everyone else. Preparing to fight along with her family. This had become an extremely frustrating situation to live with because of that Aithne was in a worse mood than she normally was. She generally was grumpy and didn't get along well with others but she had been snapping at everyone she ran into and when she wasn't doing that she was trying to avoid everyone and keep to herself. Which is what she was doing at the moment.
She was around, but she was doing the avoiding thing. She was in a quiet spot of the training grounds near the oasis. A dead spot. Often there wasn't anyone found in it. There rarely was some one hanging around in here. She knew that for sure when she wanted to get away from everyone she liked to be over here. It was a weird idea really, when the drought was over she had no clue where she was going to end up going she really had no clue at all at the moment. Aithne really had spend a majority of her life in the drought when she thought about it. She couldn't do anything about it but she was hoping that this spot stayed this queit after the drought but she was going to find out eventually, or at least... she hoped. Hopefully this drought went away soon.
She laid out on her side enjoying the sun. At the moment anyway, it was starting to set and therefore it wasn't as harsh as it normally was, it actually was starting to get cooler, the desert was an interesting thing to live in that was for sure. She was hoping that this sun setting was also going to help her relax, or at least give everyone else more reason to leave her alone, a good amount were heading back home for the night.

It could be said Yayuka was feeling quite the opposite. Though he was still apprehensive about the whole war thing, with incoming battles and all, especially considered he had been attacked, and one of those with him had been killed... Truly, right now he couldn't complain about too much. He'd been healing pretty well, and though his paw would always be scarred, and a bit deformed – not to mention he wouldn't grow that ear back! – he was even getting back on his game.
He'd learned to compensate for his weaker paw now, despite being under the impression it was growing a bit stronger. Getting active once again was also certainly making him feel better, and Yayuka even looked somewhat healthier now.
Not to mention, he was fitting in a bit more with the firekin! He had friends. Ish. Well, mostly one friend. He thought she was a friend, at least. In a weird way. Sure, Aithne might not always be very nice to him, but Yayuka did find he liked her. She was a bit difficult, but he could deal with difficult. It even had some appeal!
He didn't have any particular plans for the evening, and was half-heartedly looking for something to focus his attention on. So Yayuka just walked, past the oasis, and wandered around the training grounds, watching any training he happened upon for a few moments before continuing on. He was getting to a more deserted area, it seemed, as he heard less voices, and saw less red. He idly wondered if, should he wished to, he could find Aithne. He as thinking this just as he went over a dune. Once he went ovr the dune, to his amusement, he found that yes, apparently he could. She was lying right there!
Yayuka dind't make much of an effort to approach quietly, but with sand and wind, it was a bit hard to be conspicuous as he approached her. Still, he wasn't childish (or stupid) enough to try and startle her, so he greeted her while still several feet away. "Hey, Aithne."

It was very good that the lion didn't sneak up on her. That was for sure even the surprise from where he was at the moment even startled her. The lioness's head popped up and her tail flicked around behind her and her attention turned toward him with a snarl. It was a quiet snarl but still one that meant business. She really wanted to be left alone but the sight of the male made her calm down, a little. "Jerk!" She snapped to him as she left out a sigh. Even though her nephew had been passed away for a while now and so many things were going on some times it hit her harder than other times. The lioness turned her attention toward the male and arched a brow not that sure of what to think about him. She was wondering what he was doing here how did he find her out here. She knew that she was pretty well hidden out here. She really never ran into anyone out here.
She turned her head toward the male and then stretched out she wasn't that sure of what to say to the male. She wasn't that sure at all. She was just hanging out and for her to be there and for him to find her she was surprised but yet grumpy and at the same time she didn't know what to do to him. Not really that sure of what to do at all. She wanted to spend time with him but at the same time she just wanted to be left aalone for a while. She looked at him and then huffed another sigh. "What are you doing here?" She asked turning toward him with a huff she wasn't that sure of what else to say to him. Today wasn't her day.

He couldn't help but smile, a bit amused. "I've missed you too!" He teased, lightly, before getting a bit closer and sitting down a couple paces away. She was still lying down, so he imagined if she decided to attack him he'd have enough time to avoid a repeat of their last encounter.
"I was just walking around." He replied honestly. The day was done, and he really didn't have anything else to do. He considered turning the question back at her, but Yayuka didn't want to risk a snippy answer. "Saw you lying about, and decided to grace you with some friendly company." He grinned, realizing it was the first time he had verbally referred to them as something like friends.

Aithne looked at the male and then laughed a little. "What a present." She half groaned in response as she laid her self back down stretching her legs out and then rolled over on her back. She was thinking about pouncing on him or something like that but at the same time she wasn't really in the mood. That was for sure. She was upset still and so right now but he kind of was putting her in a good mood just joining her for company. She didn't understand how she felt to to strange male but it confused her that was for sure. She wasn't sure if he was going to return her question but to a point she was hoping that she would mostly because of the fact that she wanted to talk to some one about it. But could she realy let her guard down in front of him.

"Right?" He smiled, because she actually seemed to be pretty receptive of his presence, despite the sarcasm. At least he made her laugh! And since Aithne didn't immediately attack him, Yayuka found he was safe. He allowed himself to lie down, figuring she wouldn't try to jump on him or anything. And even if she did, well... he sort of wondered if he'd really mind.
He let the silence fall for a bit, before tilting his head and glancing at her. "So how about you? Why are you here, lying around all alone?" What if Aithne were ambushed? Not that it seemed too likely on this side of the pride, but... It didn't really occur to him to worry about such a thing until he asked the question. Even though he knew Aithne could handle herself, she was still only one lioness, and it was a troubling thought. So Yayuka pushed it away stubbornly.

"Improve your present picking skills." She said simply to him before flicking her tail at him. "you'll make more friends that way." She smirked a little as she teased him. She didn't mind the teasing, it was fun to her and she normally would be much more okay with picking on him but today just wasn't the day. She felt like everything was starting to hit her and she didn't like it. This destraction was nice though,
That was until he asked her if she was okay. She glanced at him before huffing an rolling her eyes, it was a bit of a cover up. "Why do you want to know." She half snapped back annoyed that he would even ask her the question.

He shrugged. "I don't need many friends. A few good ones will do." And it was honest enough. Yayuka was alright with being friendly with many different people, but he supposed a small circle of real friends was good enough for him. What else could he possibly need, honestly?
He noticed the attitude change with his question. Not like it was a very subtle change. Aithne seemed to mood swing sometimes, but he felt he could deal with it. He wondered if she had any more motive behind it, aside from just her personality. "Just wondering. You asked the same of me!" He pointed out. Yayuka felt it might only be fair he be allowed to ask the same question!

"Sure, sure." The lioness replied simply to the male's comment about needing friends. She wasn't really that sure if she believed it. "Thats what they all say." She teased back to him before flicking her tail around behind her once again. She paused once again though as the male started to pry some. There was one thing that could be proven over and over again and that was that Aithne was very bad at her feelings. She growled a little at first before thinking about it. Yayuka was the closest thing to a friend that she had. A smile grew on her face before she flicked her hair out of her eyes and then nodded at the lioness.
"Well." She half growled flicking her tail around behind her. "I'm just mad." She answered simply. "There is so much going on and there is nothing i can do about it. I mean I wished I had been with that party I could have defended my nephew." She sneered at the idea before placing her head on her paws. "I don't know what to do anymore. It's almost as if no one is taking my family seriously too which is even more angering." she sneered once again still veryfrustrated about the situation.

He shrugged, resisting the temptation to point out maybe some firekin would claim they didn't need friends at all. Perhaps she was right, after all. Perhaps everyone said that, and Yayuka just wasn't around to hear it all the time.
Even though he had been hoping to hear about Aithne's feelings, he was still a bit surprised it was actually happening. Still, he kept the shock from his face and opted to politely examine the sand as she spoke. For a while. When she mentioned the ambush he couldn't help but look straight at her, steadily. He wouldn't speak until she was done.
"Nur'yu's death... you had no way of knowing. There was nothing you could have done." Only he should. He had been there, he had seen Nur'yu wasn't fighting too well, and he had failed to help. Though he didn't know if she would appreciate it, Yayuka stood only to take a few steps closer and sit back down, looking at her. "And... what do you mean? Perhaps not all lions... but many of us respect your family very much. I haven't been here long, and I do."

Aithne shook her head as the lion spoke of her nephew. "You didn't know Nur'yu." He said simply thinking about it for a moment before speaking again. "Although he couldn't fight his way out of a sand dune he was a wonderful lion. He was full of energy and always had a smile on his face. He was such a refreshing face and to know he is gone, I just feel like he of all lions should have never been killed." She sneered at the idea before pausing thinking about it.
She at first wasn't that sure of what else to say but then as she thought about his second answer she shook her head. "Mostly," she started and then took a few more seconds. "My parents are very respected they are the regents." She sneered and then looked toward him. "Most of my siblings are but there are some that aren't as much, my sister Azar isn't as respected because she is new at her rank." She growled before looking away and resting ehr paws on her feet. "It's angering that they don't think she can do it because out of all of the lions that I know she CAN do it better than they all can."

It saddened him to hear more about what Nur'yu was like, because it made Yayuka feel a little more guilty. He hesitated a bit before speaking again. "It is a shame, and it is unfair." He agreed, gently. "You may mourn as long as you need to. I still mourn my sister, and my mother. Even my brother, though we never got along." Maybe mourning never ended, really. It just became less intense. "But Aithne, you should not feel guilty. Please. You only needlessly hurt yourself more." He only hoped she wouldn't take any of his words the wrong way, which Aithne just might.
He blinked and nodded. Yes, he knew who her parents were. Admittedly he knew less of her siblings, but he could identify Azar as brigadier... and the mother of Nur'yu. "I believe you." Because if Aithne said her sister could do it, he wasn't going to contest. He smiled thinly. "And so will all the others. They do not know your sister as well as you do. But soon they will see your way." She just needed to be a little patient.

"I know I may." She said simply before flicking her tail around behind her before then turning toward the male once again before getting more comfortable on her side. She always enjoyed how on the sands you could get extremely comfortable. She sighed a little and then shook her head. "I'm more angry though. Just frustrated with the attitude of some of the pride and with the whole situation." she felt like she was getting a headache from the whole drought and now war deal. She didn't like it but yet she hated feeling helpless. "I don't know what to do with myself anymore I guess." She sighed and she placed her head on her paws she wanted to get away from the Simo only to avoid all of this. But she loved her home far to much to.

"I can understand that." He nodded, and let the conversation wind down a bit. It had been a rather unexpected turn, but despite the not exactly pleasing subject, he was glad to know a bit more about Aithne. "I guess sometimes you just need to let go." He grinned sheepishly. Yayuka wasn't sure it was the best advice ever, due to its limited helpfulness. But when there were thing you couldn't do anything about, he thought you had no choice but to move on.
"I'm always around to talk if you want to, though. I mean, unless I get myself killed."

Aithne laughed a little stretching herself out and thinking as she did. "Yeah I guess so, really no other choice there is nothing that I can really do." She paused and then stared at him as he spoke before laughing again and standing up swiping sand toward his face. "At this rate Id be the one to kill you anyway.' She mentioned before stretching out and looking at him once again. "Want to join me to the watering hole."
